I always get the Barbacoa burrito here. A dream about this place all the time. Whenever the meats gets low, closer closer to the bottom, almost emptied out of the container, I like to ask if they have more in the back because when it gets low on the bottom of the container, it gets really salty because I had that one time, it was just so salty I could not even eat it and they're really good about it here if you ask for a new container if they have one in the back. I love how they have grilled veggies here and the corn is roasted corn. It is so good, the best. I can't get a burrito anywhere else since it doesn't compare to here. Looking for a quick affordable bite in the north loop? This is your place. Quick fresh casual style and feel. It is like Chipotle but with more vibrant flavors. Service was just ok. In short: Puralima is the local version of Chipotle. It's as if someone was waiting in a long line at Chipotle and were slightly disappointed when they got their good- then thought, huh- I could do this better *ta-da* Puralima. We stopped in on a week night for dinner, the colorful outside stuck in our brain every time we drove down town and we finally caved. Once inside it's pretty clear it's a similar set up to Chipotle or Subway. I was eager to see several options of base, meat and toppings. I'm not going to bore you with what I got because everyone's taste buds are different but we enjoyed out food and will be back! There are alcoholic options if that's your style, we enjoyed the limeaids and found them to be really good and tangy. We paid slightly more than we would have at Chipotle but considering we were downtown and the food felt more fresh- I wasn't too concerned. We'll be back, I wish there was more parking options as street parking can be hard to come by but maybe in the future. Grabbed a late lunch here with a few friends before a concert and it was so delicious! It's a make-line style build your own type of restaurant and the line workers pushed the line through at a good speed. I ordered a steak bowl which had a good ratio of meat to toppings. Went to Puralima for lunch on a Wednesday and it was poppin'! But after trying it out, now I know why. Parking was a bit tricky because it's north loop and it was during lunch time, but only had to walk a block over. The inside of gorgeous! So colorful, light, and fun. They have a ton of options to choose from: tacos, burritos, salads, bowls, or nachos. I did a build your own chicken bowl with cauliflower and a mix of different toppings. The food was fresh and quite tasty! I will say it's a bit more on the pricey side compared to Chipotle or Qdoba, but I'd pay for the quick service and fresh ingredients. I decided to try Puralima this week when they were running a free entree special on their app! It's right near my work, so I thought it would be the perfect little lunch spot. I ordered ahead, so my to-go order was ready right when I got there at 11:30, which was great. However, there were quite a few people waiting on to-go orders. A friend I was with ordered hers for ASAP about 10 minutes before we left our work to walk over, and we waited there for 5-10 minutes for her food to come out (it had given her a 'ready' time at 11:32). I didn't mind too much because they seemed to be a bit short staffed. The location is beautiful and in a great area of North Loop! It's got super trendy and bright decor, fun merch, and a little flower bar where you can create your own bouquet. I definitely want to come back here for a happy hour with margaritas and chips! Based on other reviews I've seen, it looks like they fixed their portion problem. These are a bit smaller than Chipotle, but I don't mind because I never finish Chipotle - I really felt this was the perfect size for me! Plus, they included a free chips & guac for happy hour before the end of the month which was a fun little surprise. I ordered a steak salad with quite a few toppings. Since I had the free entree, I only had to pay for my additional toppings (about $2 worth) - however, I think they need to include more than 3 toppings for their price. If I had paid for this, my little salad would've been about $15 - and at that rate I would go down the street to C&G for a larger salad. Good news is, this salad was absolutely delicious! The steak was so tender and flavorful and the vinaigrettes really brought all the flavors together. I definitely raved about it to some friends! Overall, I wouldn't be super quick to go back here for a lunch/meal because of the price point, but I will be back to try happy hour! read more

As someone who's plant-based (leaning heavily vegan), I was really hoping for a solid experience at Puralima. After a long day of work yesterday evening, I found myself stuck between going with a quick, familiar choice like Chipotle or trying something local. I ultimately chose Puralima because I wanted to support a smaller business over a big chain, and also because I try to avoid overly processed foods. But honestly, I left wishing I had gone with Chipotle. I paid $17 for a take out burrito and chips, and what I got was incredibly bland, dare I say, uncultured. The flavor that food is capable of delivering, just wasn't there. It felt like flavor was sacrificed, and I'm not sure if that was in an effort to be more inclusive to local palates or a conscious attempt to reduce sodium. Either way, it really missed the mark. As a plant-based eater in Minnesota, it already feels like we're operating at a disadvantage, especially post-pandemic, where many places are closed on Mondays or shutting down early. So seeing that Puralima was open on a Monday gave me hope. I just wish the food had matched the promise of accessibility. I ordered a cauliflower burrito, which is weird now that I think about it. I did want to try something new. My burrito was bland. Met up with a couple friends here and it was the perfect meeting spot, wasn't too busy or loud, and we really got to connect. I got the chicken, I didn't love it. I've visited this new Minneapolis spot two times in as many weeks. It is soooo delicious. Management was very attentive to us and all of the workers were busy working hard but also were great hosts to the guests. You walk in, down a small set of stairs, go through the line (similar to a chipotle experience), take a seat and bon appetite! I had heard some mixed reviews of Puralima but was excited to try it out on my own, ended up really loving my meal here! It's on the pricier side but they have been running a lot of deals lately ($5 margs, free guac with chips order, etc). I got a steak bowl and loved how fresh all of the ingredients tasted. It was really nice that the plates/glasses were real as well, it made it feel more upscale than other similar spots. The frozen marg was delicious too, and strong! Service was friendly and helpful as well! The only bigger downside that I experienced was that for the cost, you still only get 3 toppings included. Opted to get a Barbacoa Bowl over rice ($10.50), which comes with three free toppings. Settled on some pico de gallo, cheese, and peppers. Seasoning on the meat was good, while the meat itself was very chewy. The other ingredient well with the rice. Also ordered the Chips & Queso ($8) - a big bag of corn tortilla chips with rich melted queso. Really liked the chips to go along with the side hot sauces they had. The queso dip was only okay. The people behind the counter did their best to get the line moving, but people had multiple orders and lots of questions. Placing your order in advance for pickup is the best option here. read more

The chicken wasn't dry like I've gotten at other similar type restaurants. My friend had the shrimp bowl and she raved about it. I think both bowls were between 10 and $12 so quite reasonable for a weekday lunch. The portion sizes are very good. It was quite substantial and very satisfying. I saw another reviewer saying that they thought chipotle had a bigger portion. Not true, the only difference that Puralima uses a larger better quality bowl that is not disposable. They do have a limited amount of parking slots however across the street about 50 yards away is an entire parking lot so parking is not an issue. The restaurant was very clean, with nice music playing, and a very tastefully decorated decor. Great food at this establishment. Its basically a chipotle with fresher ingredients. Their steak is PHENOMENAL. They use a different cut of steak than chipotle with little to no fatty bits. Portions are HEFTY. Literally i could make one plate last 2 days. I recommend getting extra rice and extra meat. Their drinks are solid aswell. I fw the limeade and mango limeade.
