    Queso and guacamole combo
    Joel Jr. M.

I stopped by Taberna for happy hour, hoping to snag some good taco deals, but ended up being the complete opposite. Their taco menu listed them at $5, but the happy hour price was $5.50, which had me confused. When I asked the server what the actual happy hour deal was, she didn't really give a clear explanation of the deals for tacos, but was able to give a better explanation for their drinks and apps. I ended up skipping the "deal" altogether and ordered the guacamole + queso combo off the regular menu (which somehow was a better value than happy hour as well). The dips were fine, but the chips were stale and crumbly, the kind that break just from looking at them. For my entrée, I tried the birria tacos, but they were greasy and had way more cheese than meat. Definitely not what I am used to. All in all, this was my first and last visit. There are plenty of spots in the Cities serving better tacos, better value, and a better happy hour.

I have had 2 very different experiences here. The first time I chose to get the tacos which were delicious, I love their creative fusion tacos and the variety you can get. The second time I was just there for appetizers and just got the chicken wings. The wings were pretty dry, and the honey-chipotle sauce was not very good in my opinion. Overall it's a good spot, service was quick and our servers are always nice! It's a fun, casual vibe with some bar/arcade games so a good place to spend a rainy afternoon!

Taberna is a spot with good vibes and perfectly good food. I wouldn't quite call it authentic but what it lacks in authenticity, it has in fun. Advice: come for happy hour or other promotion times. You'll find good deals. Food: good solid options that will please any crowd. Generally Mexican food but they do offer burgers, etc. too. I wouldn't say it is authentic at all but it's perfectly satisfying especially if drinks and vibes are 50% or more your goal. Parking: there are large lots nearby Service: friendly and perfectly pleasant I recommend Taberna for the vibes, drinks, and food (in that order).

The food is generally street tacos, and they do a good job at pulling a variety of tastes together. The staff is attentive, and service is quick. They have a nice patio, albeit hovering over a busy street corner near Lake Bde Maka Ska - guess that makes the "street taco" part more authentic. I had a fish and a pork taco. Both were well prepared, presented, and had good flavor. In all a decent value, I've heard happy hour can be a great value.

Cute restaurant with a nice patio. Our server was very attentive and the prices were great during happy hour and the food was also very good. Plenty of parking and I will definitely be back to try more flavors of tacos

Service is always good here and food is usually great! Really bummed that they thinned out their happy hour menu but it's pretty much all day happy hour so can't complain too much. Please put the taberna burger back on it! Place is great to go and watch some games at with plenty of TVs around

A fellow Yelp Elite told me about Taberna & how they have a good $2.99 taco deal on Tuesday's. I got chicken tacos and Mexican fries. I believe they promote being on the authentic side but it was more Tex-mex/Americanized flavor wise, wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. Also wish they had more taco sauce options vs. the sauces paired with the tacos. The atmosphere was giving sports bar & lots of Drake playing. The waitress was pretty laid back but overall nice. Would be a nice place spot to go & grab drinks. They have a heated garage to park inside of w/ a lot of spots, which is nice especially it cold weather.

A taco margarita place with a nice bar and juke box. I did not operate the juke box but was tempted to. They also have a few arcade games like Pac-Man and Tetris. They also have tequila flights. Many margarita options are waiting for you to try. See photos included. The tacos is what I ordered. Shrimp tacos to be specific.

Taberna is a nice eatery for a drink out on the patio. Their happy hour is okay value, and their food is tasty. I've had the bowl and my friend had a cheese smothered burrito and really enjoyed it. Their tortilla chips are very good. Service has varied for me between the different times I have been there, hence the 4 stars. Overall though, not a bad place to stop by.

I went here to meet some friends for dinner and I got excited knowing it's got a pet friendly patio! Will definitely bring my puppy next time! Got the three taco combo and it was delicious! A little messy but so good! Overall everyone was friendly and the waitress kept checking up on us. Will have to go back for happy hour!

Casual spot for tasty Mexican bites. Went with a group and ordered the meal for 4 which was a great deal. 12 tacos (your choice), 4 elotes, and large bowls of rice and beans for $55. If you just order 12 tacos alone, that's almost $60 so this was a great value. The carnitas, shrimp and al pastor tacos were the favorites. And the elotes had lots of cotija cheese and mayo to give lots of flavor. Not healthy, but tasty! Added a chicken quesadilla since the guys were worried it wasn't enough food but that was only ok. And there was plenty of food without it anyway. We couldn't even finish the rice and beans. Everything came out super fast too.

Food: 5 Customer Service: 5 Location: 5 Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 This restaurant decor is kinda of similar to an American sports bar, and they have plenty of TVs for watching all the games.  The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. We had their Taberna Burrito Bowl, Taberna Burrito, and chicken empanadas. Everything we ordered came out very fast and tasted great.  I'll highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants plentiful portions, at a very affordable rate.

I like this taco spot! Great location near the lake in Uptown, great crowd, workers, and food. Margaritas and tacos are good! - Anthony

Nice happy hour prices for lunch on weekends. Wings are very good. BMary good. Only thing that sucks is the horrid 70s music.

The decor is fun, it's like a fever dream of a newspaper themed pirate cove with downtown holiday sparkle. Walking in, there's a news-themed entry, then you see a mermaid reading a newspaper at a pirate ship bar playing sports games on the TVs. It's wild, but it's so fun. We had great seats at a table by the window looking out to downtown, which was great for people watching while we waited for our food. We were also entertained by the football and hockey games on the TVs. Our waitress was swift, but we waited a while for her to come back to cash us out after we ate. I ordered their burger with fries and a Pinot noir on the side. The burger was cooked nicely at medium well. There were several cocktails that sounded great, but a nice burger and dry red was calling to me that night. My husband got the Korean bbq fried chicken sandwich and we split that and the burger halfsies. I liked the chicken sandwich, but not as much as I enjoyed the burger. A fun choice for a meal in downtown Minneapolis, don't let the reviews steer you away. Hopefully you can catch the bartender climbing the rope stairs for a bottle!

The restaurant was understaffed - the bartender was not only running the bar but also serving the entire dining area. We sat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We also overheard a nearby table voice frustration about the slow service. We're pretty patient, so it wasn't the end of the world, but it was noticeably slow. That said, once we were helped, our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Spicy Margarita and my husband went with an Old Fashioned. My margarita was on the weaker side; not bad, just forgettable. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. For food, we tried the Bang Bang Shrimp, Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Crab-Stuffed Portabella. The standout was definitely the Bang Bang Shrimp; we both really liked it. The lettuce wraps and stuffed mushroom were fine, just not dishes we'd return specifically for. The overall vibe was calm and low-key, and the staff was kind despite being stretched thin. I'm glad we gave it a try, but it's probably not a place we'll be rushing back to.

The bar server greeted us and let us know how to order. We were both starving and wanted to get some tacos. I had the chicken tinga and the braised beef. I really loved the chicken tinga but the braised beef just did not have a lot of flavor. I also had a side of beans, they were definitely undercooked and again, not a ton of flavor with them. I also had the horchata, it is a small glass filled with ice, so not sure it is worth the price point or at least order two. The guacamole was amazing and I would definitely get that if you go! Centro is in a nice location that's near the Rosedale Mall but not all the traffic. I haven't been to this restaurant since it's been remodeled (previously Good Earth) and it's very trendy, IG worthy. Bright colors, murals on the inside/outside. It was seat yourself dining. And "scan the QR code to order". However, we did have the waiter take everyone's order because it was going to be ONE BIG BILL. Drinks came out, then we ordered food (apps for some, entrees for the rest). Great happy hour deals on drinks, and chips w/ dips. I ordered a Guava Margarita. It came in a lowball glass, garnished with a lime and spicy tajin rim. It was strong enough for me. Tattersall.... say no more! Tasted like a normal Marg, guava didn't stand out. Apps were shared. Chips were warm and salty. Guac was above average. Salsa and queso stood out more. Cool Ranch wings with ranch dip. Others loved them. I didn't taste much "Cool Ranch". Dirty Yuka fries. I got to try 1 but grabbed lots of its toppings and sauce. Don't know what a YUKA is but that was good. I would have had another if there were some left. Now my entree.. the Elote Carnitas Crunch wrap. Didn't come with any sides (rice, beans) or dipping sauce. Although I did steal some leftover Ranch from the wings. I cut it in half for easier eating and it looked beautiful. Due to the Carnitas, it was very drippy/messy/wet. I rolled up my sleeves, and made sure I had it over the plate vs my lap. It really didn't need a dipping sauce. It had some heat to it, and it built with each bite. But it was a good heat; tingly lips. Nothing on fire that made you pant or required milk. My coworker got the Cool Ranch Crunch wrap and hers was dry... and needed a dipping sauce for moisture. She used leftover queso and it was much better. Food came out in waves. Many staff helping out at the table with both bringing food out and clearing used dishes, empty glasses/ bottles. And no errors in the order. Great to see teamwork. To-go boxes were given to those in need and they looked like recycled paper/cardboard vs Styrofoam. And paper bags were given to the people with more than 1 to-go box. I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.
