Love the night sky ambiance and speakeasy vibe. Staff are great. The drinks are fun and delicious, on the pricey side. Tried a shot with caviar bump served the right way, on a pearl spoon. Try it if you've been curious! The bites really surprised me! Had the best sushi, my fave in the TC, including the regular Billy Sushi which is now a close second. Melt in your mouth sushi, very well crafted and beautifully presented. Vegetable gyoza and popcorn shrimp tempura appetizers were mouth watering. Must try!

We had such a fun night at BAD! It's a speakeasy in the basement of Billy's. You need a reservation so that you can get the code to get in the back door which is accessed through the alley. I'm not entirely sure I understand why, but it added to the fun. The vibe is upscale, Metro chic. We very much appreciated that they did not seem to care, however, that we had dressed for a different event, and looked a bit out of place. The dining space and bar are not large, but there were plenty of cozy tables. We had five women and we fit comfortably in a round booth together. Nya was our server, and also the bartender that evening. She was so helpful with picking out drinks and food. For example, one of my friends told her what she liked and asked her to just bring something. Each round was perfection. We tried a sampling of appetizers and sushi rolls. Starting with the edamame, I can't remember the last time I've seen spicy edamame served anywhere. One friend thought it was way too hot, but I loved it. It's a great way to eat what can sometimes be a bland vegetable. We also ordered the Shishido peppers. They were delicately cooked with flakes on top. Also super flavorful. I can't remember which rolls we ordered, but every one of them was delicious. With respect to drinks, the drinks leaned more towards fruity and light, which isn't exactly my vibe, but my friends all loved everything. I just asked for an Negroni and Nya did a great job with that as well. The restaurant decor is made for Instagram and social media. There's even little wings you can take a picture of yourself with near the bathroom. Despite that, it just felt cozy. We had such a fun evening and definitely want to go back again..

Want to Billy after dark and overall worth the experience!! From the service, to the amazing fresh fish it was a show stopper! The rolls were amazing along with the nigiri and sashimi. The drinks were flowing and they knew how to make a great time! The darker room with upbeat music made for a party like atmosphere. Few things that made the experience not feel as high quality as the price tag of the event was, the paper napkins, I was expecting an upscale feeling from all aspects of this and felt strange having paper napkins. Another was that the chopsticks are the ones you expect from a takeout place. Felt like these small things elevate your experience. Slot of the drink wear and plates felt like just run of the mill and I was expecting some unique pieces to go along with the upscale vibes they were going for. Overall did not make this a bad experience just felt like it was a missed opportunity.

So I recently went back with a much smaller group and the experience was a lot better all around. This time we sat in the main bar room which was super cute and overall good vibes. The backroom is also a vibe, just a bit more intimate. They still have the 90's hiphop menu going on but they have added a few new items since I last visited. We were out exploring the city a bit and ate somewhere else prior to visiting here and were more so opting in for drinks. We ordered a special drink (I don't remember the name of it, it wasn't on the menu and was listed as "dealers choice" on the receipt) and hi-chew shots. The hi-chew shots were so good, we went for seconds. We also ended up ordering the g-thang - salmon roll. Everything was good. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The host was too. She showed us both rooms and let us choose which one we waited to sit in. The music was so nostalgic and a great vibe. Good time all around! Don't miss the photo ops by the bathrooms. Super cute! I should also note that it was a Saturday night and it wasn't too packed but they strongly encourage reservations and we were able to get one via text same day within 30 min. I'd suggest planning a bit before though, it's generally smaller space despite having 2 seating areas. Plus parking in this area is rough.

Everything about this place is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious and the ambiance is "out of this world". With shooting stars shooting across the ceiling while vibey music plays on the speakers. Highly recommend the wagyu steak tips!!!!

B.A.D. 10/10, easily. I loved everything about my experience at Billy After Dark. They accept reservations which is always a plus, so we were able to get seated quickly on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm. Parking is downtown so be prepared to walk a bit - although we were luckily and got a spot right out front. So many things I loved about this place: The Vibes, the sushi and cocktails were phenomenal, and our server was so sweet and attentive. I felt taken care of, well fed, and the music only elevated the experience. I highly recommend and cannot wait to go back!

This is my second visit with my daughter. It's quickly becoming her annual birthday request! Everything about this place is fantastic! It's quickly becoming put favorite Speakeasy. I would give them 10 star in every area if allowed. Their unique drinks are amazingly crafted, so well balanced and full of flavor. The staff has been above normal amazing both times. They serve with a smile, perfectly attentive, great at making suggestions and knowing the menu. They also brought my daughter champagne and a candle for the cake. And had the coolest torch I've ever seen to light that gold candle. We ordered the JFC Japanese chicken, Chicken Goya, Too Legit sushi. (Along with handful of drinks) The food ordered was fresh and flavorful. Not over the top but still fresh and hit the spot. Our rated fav drinks were- Back to Life (best espresso martini we've had in the Twin Cities yet!!) and I absolutely loved the Disco Inferno to order it twice (fantastic summer drink concoction!) They also have a secret drink- so ask the server about it (changes often...or maybe seasonally?) The ambience and lighting was relaxing, bit artsy and perfect too. It would be fantastic date night outing. Plenty of space as well (no chance of accidentally elbowing the neighboring table patrons!) All in all, I can see this becoming a first choice for my daughters and I for an evening out.

My friends and I visited Billy After Dark for a small celebration and I had a great time! It was a little hard to find the entrance but there was other people also looking for the door so we were able to find it pretty quickly. We made a reservation so we didn't have to wait to get a table. I definitely recommend RSVP because a group that came before us had to wait. The waiter was engaging and attentive to our needs. We got their cocktails and some appetizers to snack on. Love their appetizers! We ate it up in a short amount of time. It can get a little loud with a full room of people talking and music playing in the background but it didn't bother me too much. I would definitely go back!

We checked out this speakeasy bar for a friend's birthday. The entrance is located in the back of Billy sushi, go around the building, down the alley, and then find the dinosaur above the door. Ring the bell and wait for someone. Reservations are necessary for the weekends. Weekdays are not as busy but the host might tell you there's wait time. Go down the stairs and you'll arrive in this pretty bar that has lights on the ceiling like stars. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks. The craft cocktails have fun names, I would ask the servers for recommendation and how the cocktail really taste besides reading what's in them. Crispy rice with spicy tuna was delicious! I can eat 20 of them.

After having a great time at Billy Sushi we decided to try Billy After Dark and the night only stayed on the same high. Wonderful atmosphere. Phenomenal drinks. And the service was extra elegant and intentional. I loved the drink explanations and recommendations. The part I found to be cool was walking into what seemed an abandoned alleyway, until we found the flashing lights. The lady was with really enjoyed taking pictures at the iconic angel wings upon entering the venue.

Billy After Dark is so cool; arguably one of the coolest spots I've been to in the Twin Cities! We made a reservation based on what we've heard (it gets busy on weekend nights). We came in for drinks following a reservation at Billy Sushi and upon walking in, the atmosphere is dark and a total vibe! They were playing all the early 2000's that I grew up with so I loved the music! Our waitress was kind and informative when answering our questions about the menu. The drinks are on the spendy side, but the espresso martini I ordered was delicious. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of how slow the service was. We wanted to order another drink but we were afraid it wouldn't come by the time we needed to leave. Overall, I highly recommend checking out BAD, but give yourself plenty of time due to the slower service. However, I'm excited to go back and try more of their drinks!

This is one of the best bars in Northloop and the sushi is so good but it's just a lot more expensive than other places. The cocktails are amazing and well crafted, the servers are incredibly helpful with advice on food and drinks, and the vibes here are 20/10. They okay good music, it's a fun chill spot to go with friends and the entrance is in the alley way. Overall I recommend making a reservation here.

A fun place with a great ambiance. The drinks are good and have they have unique cocktail options. Enjoyed the food options as well! Recommend making reservations if able as it can be a long wait. Service can also take a while depending on how busy it is as well.

Smaller menu here than Billy's sushi, mainly small bites and finger food but the crispy rice and fries avocado was really good.

The wine list is really thoughtful and leans toward smaller, lesser-known producers and unique regions. Even if you know wine well, there are still plenty of interesting picks here. Just note that by-the-glass options are limited, so it's more of a place where you end up ordering a bottle. The space is beautifully designed. Very minimal, clean, and intentional. It feels elevated without being overdone. It is definitely expensive for what it is. Both the wine and food lean high in price, but you're also paying for the atmosphere and overall experience. The menu is also a bit different in a fun way. The tinned fish selection stands out and isn't something you see often. The radish butter and bread was a highlight and absolutely worth ordering. Service is a little unconventional since you order at the counter, which feels a bit off given the pricing, but everything still runs smoothly.

We wanted a recommendation and the wine picked for us was excellent. Went with the Plavac Milos. The food is honestly incredible! The carrots were my favorite. Someday I'll get enough courage to try the tinned fish. I wish seating was a little more comfortable for the whole "drink a bottle and stay awhile" vibe. It also can get pretty loud when it's busy in the tight quarters.
