My half eaten fish tacos before I remembered to snap a pic They were SO good.
    Ashley C.

For how often we come to the mall, we have never been here until now which is a shame. Free (warm) chips and salsa is always a good start, and the salsas were both really tasty. Watermelon marg was good, and they had lots of other drinks that I'm excited to try. The queso Laredo was a delicious start. For meals, I had the fish tacos and they just kept blowing me away with each bite. SO good. Chipotle aioli, mango pineapple salsa, pickled onions, and more?? They were incredible. My husband really enjoyed his chicken tacos as well. The rice and beans were great. Portions are huge, and they made darn sure our chips and salsa were well stocked. Service was friendly, super attentive; some of the best we've had in awhile. Ambience was great. We were super impressed, and I don't think I could find a single thing to complain about. We will most definitely be back!

Cancun, colorful, flavor-packed platter featuring a ground sirloin and a tender chicken enchilada with a crispy beef taco for crunch.

A great spot to stop while visiting the Mall of America. Service was really fast and attentive, which is always a plus when you're in between shopping or on a time crunch. I ordered the Cancun, and it hit the spot. The platter is colorful and filling, with a ground sirloin enchilada smothered in rich chile con carne and a tender chicken enchilada topped with a creamy poblano sour cream sauce. The crispy beef taco added a nice crunch, and the Mexican rice and smooth refried beans rounded everything out nicely. Solid flavors, generous portions, and an easy, satisfying meal.

I went here on my recent trip to Minnesota and the food was incredible. I had the Pollo Asado Three Taco entree with rice and beans and the tacos were amazing. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the pico was tasty. The chips and salsa were homemade and our server kept bringing refills on both without us having to ask. The decor in the place was super cute with little plants on the wall and beautiful plates. The service was also great. If I ever return to Minneapolis, I will be returning to this place.

Ordered: steak burrito but substituted the steak out for ground beef.

Really good meal would rate my meal an 8.6/10 and would def come order this again. The queso sauce over the burrito was really nice and the ground beef I got in it wasn't dry or anything. There's also refried beans and poblano peppers inside the burrito which were slightly spicy. Like your tongue may just tingle a bit, but nothing that'll have your lips hurting and nose running. Rice was tasty as well.

Our server was polite and amiable. The restaurant was more eye catching from outside than inside. The decor was more reserved and not as vibrant as I'm used to for Tex Mex. The chips and dip were great. Never had dip like that before. It was different. Unfortunately the rest of the food didn't match it. It matched the decor which is a little too bland for my taste. It was not bad just not for me.

We stopped for lunch right at open. We had our two young kids and stroller. We know that most places at MOA require you to put the stroller elsewhere. However upon arrival; the person who greeted us told us we should sit outside the restaurant since we had our stroller. We asked to sit inside (as we preferred that) he said ok then you have to sit at this specific table since you came too early and the servers section included where he sat us. While that is fine; I felt unwelcomed. The server was just fine; when we went to order our food; we ordered queso. She did share there were two kinds and that they were both really spicy. We picked one; it had no heat but believed she didn't mean ill intent. The tortillas were amazing! Wish my pollo asada came with more salsa. It was somewhat dry. The fajitas were good but not enough pico or grilled peppers. My son's chicken fingers and fries were perfect!

I didn't have any expectations when trying Cantina Laredo last week for lunch, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It had been 5+ years since I had been there last. I had the lunch combination fajitas and they were excellent - and so much food! We really enjoyed the chips and salsa too. Service was quick and attentive. We spend a lot of time at MOA in the winter, so we'll definitely be back soon!

I've been here a few times and it's a sizable place with usually short or no wait times. Perfect after a long day at the park or shopping. Their chips and salsa that they will keep bringing is delectable. Their house made poblano salsa with homemade chips are a nice break from the standard salsa most Mexican restaurants give. I've had several dishes here with my favorite being the mole. Both the entree and enchiladas are very good. The pulled chicken with that sweet heat is always a good choice. This time I wanted to try something new so I ordered one of their combo options and although nothing beats mole for me it was very good. The nachos and their unique take was also nice. Instead of your typical pile of chips covered in all the toppings they make sure every bite has beans, meat, tomatoes, cheese, and spices. I really loved that as I like nachos but never liked that once you get through all the toppings you have chips and it can be hard to get that perfect bite. They apparently felt the same way with this lovely take on a classic. My wife ordered a salad and it was large she had an amazing mango vinaigrette dressing. They also have a nice kids menu with selections even your pickiest child will love. Overall of your at the mall shopping, at the park with the kids, or just looking for a nice dinner with a margarita this is a great place to go.

We decided to visit the mall mid evening and of course got hungry. After a great search, we finally found Cantina. It was getting close to the end of their service time, but we got in in time to have dinner. We started with the guacamole, which was very good. The chips are delicious and freshly made. Also, the salsa is slightly spicy but very good. I had the fish tacos, which I thought were very tasty. Guest had the tacos which she was not a fan of. Our server was friendly, but quite absent towards the second portion of our experience we waited quite some time to have plates removed and for our check to be processed. I think they were getting ready to close and were working on side work. The restaurant is beautiful and the location, once you can find it is great.

Fajitas -lunch portion in front. Impossible tacos lunch in back.

A welcome rest in the MOA! Great service. No wait. The food was plentiful and delicious.

Update: I've updated my star rating to reflect the wonderful customer service I received after posting my initial review. The manager responded immediately and thoughtfully. I appreciate his efforts! I can't wait to return to Cantina Laredo next time I'm at MOA. That salsa is calling my name! Original Review: Food - The food saved the day. The salsa was wonderful, as always. The nachos were yummy. The quesadillas were delicious, and the tacos were fabulous. My steak chimichurri was okay. Service - Terrible, and I hate to say that. The server seemed inexperienced, which wasn't the problem. It was that he seemed uninspired to find out answers or information. When asked to do so, he then seemed annoyed. He told my friend that the tacos could not come gluten-free. She asked him to double-check to see if they could accommodate a gluten-free request, and yes, the kitchen was able to put the taco filling in corn shells. I asked if the steak chimichurra was spicy, and I was told no, but it was a bit spicy. Also, everybody's meal at my table came out, and everyone in my party had finished eating before my steak even arrived. I actually think the server forgot to put my steak in. While waiting, I watched the server dance at the hostess stand. He ignored our table and paid no attention to checking with kitchen. After a while, he came to our table and stated that steaks take a really long time to cook. I was no longer even hungry, and told him that steaks don't actually take that long. Throughout our meal, our server stood at the front hostess stand with other servers the and rarely checked on us. We had to ask another person clearing tables if she could bring a glass of water and silverware for our fourth guest. Overall, service was inattentive and unfriendly. It was just lacking. He definitely needs more training. The service was 1 star, the food brought it up to 3 (but should have been more).

To begin with, our table and the menus given to us were very dirty and had lots of visible food tidbits, which made us have to clean things up a bit ourselves. That was okay, though, because I have experienced worse and wouldn't choose to let it impact my judgment to such an extent. I thought the only item that was solid was my lengua torta, which had a good amount of stuff inside ranging from meat to lettuce to mayo, and made me full in a very satisfactory way. A lot of the tacos were dry and reliant on the lime for a little bit of juice, including the birria tacos. My partner ordered the chicken, shrimp, and fish tacos, and thought they all tasted mediocre. Personally I enjoyed having some radishes because they cleansed my palate when needed. Another unfortunate event was that later that night, I experienced a severe stomachache and had to throw up. Granted, I have not tried their birria with consomé yet, which per my understanding was what made them famous since the beginning of time, at least according to a piece of newspaper I had seen next to the bathroom. Next time when I visit, I will try such instead, which I hope can provide me with an improved experience.

Let's start with service, the server was nice enough, but very rarely came by to refill drinks. The others were taken quickly, but the food all came out at wildly different times. I received my food probably 20-25 minutes before the last person received theirs. The wave was maybe 2 people's food at a time. The whole free dip with 5 Birria tacos was confusing as no one really knew which tacos qualified. As for the food, the horchata was okay. It wasn't super flavorful and seemed poorly mixed. I had to take the top off to try and mix it better, but the straw didn't work well. The goat Birria was very bland to me. I added all the hot sauce, but still couldn't even really taste it. I ended up mainly just dipping the tortillas in the green sauce, which wasn't bad. Perhaps I came on an off day. I'm not sure I would go back though.

Love the murals on the walls celebrating the Minnesotan culture and icons. The service is always great, and the servers always have a good menu recommendation if you're unsure what to get. The bar has delicious drinks and their Jamaica juice is so refreshing on a hot summer day. Happy hour is a nice discount on some favorite items. I will say anything with shredded chicken isn't my favorite (not enough seasoning on the chicken for my taste) but everything else we've tried is a hit! We always start off with the chips and salsa flight and add cheese sauce - it's NOT a queso, there's no peppers or spice. The creamy green sauce is our favorite salsa they make, it's delicious on everything. The torta is a great choice if you're unsure what to get, the pineapple bowl is awesome if you're trying to share with others. Tacos and burritos are always a hit - I love the crunch of the pork belly and the flavor of the al pastor, taco toppings are onion and cilantro unless you get the loaded taco with slaw. The burrito could probably feed two people with an appetizer. It's a little higher priced than your typical plate of tacos but the quality of the food is always top notch, the kitchen is open and clean, and I've never left hungry or without leftovers. I will note - if you're looking for "traditional" Mexican food this probably isn't the spot you're looking for. It's still delicious just slightly different than what you'd get at your typical taqueria.

The parking lot, shared with several other businesses, offered plenty of spots, making our arrival easy and stress-free. As we entered the establishment, we were promptly greeted by a friendly staff member at the counter. The menu was a delight--clearly laid out, with detailed descriptions for each item. This thoughtful touch made it easy to navigate the mouthwatering options, and I appreciated how transparent and appetizing everything sounded. The ambiance was equally inviting. The cheerful atmosphere was alive with upbeat music, smiling employees, and happy customers. The wall decor was strikingly beautiful, adding a vibrant and artistic touch to the space. We found a cozy table and were quickly presented with menus and offered beverage choices. As we browsed through the menu, we couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the incredible array of options--each dish sounded better than the last! It was a struggle, but we finally made our decisions. We started with the Chips and Guacamole and then moved on to our main courses. My wife chose the Steak Fajita Bowl, while I opted for the Chicken Tinga Corn Tacos. As we waited for our food, the restaurant began to fill up, the buzz of activity adding to the lively and welcoming vibe. The Chips and Guacamole arrived quickly, and what a treat they were! The chips were unbelievably fresh and had that unmistakable crispness of being freshly made in-house. The guacamole? Sublime. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned--it was so good I joked about wanting to bathe in it. I'm completely in love with this guacamole and could easily make a meal of just that. Soon after we polished off the appetizer, our main dishes arrived, and the incredible aromas from our plates were almost too much to handle. The Chicken Tinga Tacos were a masterpiece. The crunch of the tortillas was like music to my ears, and the savory, spiced flavor of the chicken was pure perfection. Every bite was a revelation, and I found myself wishing it would never end. My wife's Steak Fajita Bowl looked just as enticing. The vibrant mix of ingredients was beautifully presented, and to my surprise, she finished every last bite--a rarity for her. She's usually the one asking for a to-go box, but this time, she couldn't bear to leave a morsel behind. Either she was extremely hungry or the dish was so incredible she simply couldn't stop eating. I'm inclined to believe it was the latter. What can I say? The entire meal was a triumph of flavor, freshness, and quality. I'm already planning my return visits--there are so many more dishes I want to try. My only regret? Forgetting to take pictures of this unforgettable meal! What was I thinking? El Camino Gourmet Tacos has officially earned a spot on my list of favorite places. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. You'll be hooked from the first bite!
