We LOVE EL Loro's! Today we were at EL Loro's in Bloomington on Ensign! Today we had the Ceviche and we had Guacamole and Pico de Gallo! To die for! The service was to die for! Eliou was Stupendous! If you have a chance, go to EL Loro's ask for Eliou! You will never be disappointed in any EL Loro's ever!

This El Loro location was a lot more chill than other locations. Despite it being happy hour they weren't busy at all. It is a bit of a smaller location compared to others. It was decorated like the others. I ordered a taco salad with chicken and horchata. Food was good. The waitress was nice and attentive. They do offer a bit of a "discount " if you use cash vs card.

My partner ordered El Loro through Uber Eats again despite them messing up my vegetarian order the last time sending me straight up meat in sauce. I was talked into it. Ordered from their vegetarian section online, he explicitly stated in the comments to ensure no meat was added and after waiting *2:15* hours... I got ground beef. Fool me ounce, it was a mistake, fool me twice they can't read an order ticket. It's now 15min to 10pm and I'm going to bed hungry and hangry. C'moooon!!

There's just some nights you just want free chips and salsa! We were having one of those nights and stopped by this spot! Plenty of parking in the lot adjacent to the building. As you walk in, you are greeted by a host and seated in this colorful establishment! Chips, salsa, and some sort of "ranch" is brought to the table complimentarily. Service was very present and attentive throughout our stay! The food was what you would expect from an Americanized Mexican establishment...big portions, diverse menu, decent quality. I had the Burrito Carnitas, which was doused in nacho cheese. I left FULL! I think I'd drop in to this place every once in a while, but don't feel the need to go regularly!

Obviously they aren't known for their Wings. Most definitely NOT worth $12.99. Save your money. I only ordered them from here because I was craving Wings and the location was convenient.

NACHO AVERAGE MONDAY: I feel bad for giving this place such a low rating. It was so reasonably priced (well only because of Happy Hour), had a pretty good marg, and very friendly service. But the food was just not good. We got the nachos supreme and it was lackluster. Why so many raw onions?? Then our quesadilla took a really long time to come out.. really not my favorite nacho place AT ALL :/ But if you've got $6 to spare and want a big serving...I guess this is the place for you.

Taco "salad" minus any kind of veggies or guacamole. Literally a shell, beans, cheese, and chicken.
    Susie Z.

My husband and I got takeout. I got the taco salad, he got fajitas. They didn't include ANY vegetables (including the guacamole) on my taco salad. I actually pulled up the menu on my phone to make sure I hadn't read the description of the salad wrong. I took a pic because I honestly couldn't believe someone would call it a salad of any kind. The fajita beef tasted entirely unseasoned - couldn't even taste any salt or pepper - and was a tough texture. Tasted like they just stir fried some plain beef and called it fajita meat. Maybe I should have stuck to something cheese and sauce covered like enchiladas?

We were seated and had a view of the pond or water. Our server, Bryn, brought us a few glasses of bubbles to start while we looked at the menu. Bryn gave us some good recommendations, and we went with the Redstone breakfast. Redstone is known for their ribs, so what else could I choose? I selected a full rack of ribs, and the meat fell right off the bone. They had the perfect blend of BBQ, smoke, and tanginess. The sauce was not runny and stuck to the ribs. I didn't even bother with the fries. The coleslaw was mediocre and was lacking in flavor, but the ribs were heavy. We had a few glasses of wine to quench our thirst and relaxed and had great conversations as we caught up. Bryn checked up on us and made sure we had all we needed and provided perfect service. The bathrooms and restaurant areas were clean, and there was tons of free parking in their lot.

We arrived straight from the airport with our carry-on luggage, and the staff kindly took our suitcases and stored them at the coat check while we ate. It was a thoughtful touch that made the experience much more comfortable. The restaurant has a classic steakhouse vibe that's upscale without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It struck a nice balance between polished and comfortable. We were seated promptly, and our server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I can't remember her name, but she did an excellent job throughout the meal. At her recommendation, we started with the Summer Heirloom Tomato Salad ($16.95), made with heirloom tomatoes, arugula, goat cheese, pesto, and balsamic vinaigrette. It was fresh, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. For my entrée, I asked for another recommendation and ordered the Blackened New York Strip Steak Sandwich ($28.95), served with arugula, tomatoes, white cheddar, ancho mayo, and a side of fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sandwich was packed with flavor, and the fries were crisp and delicious. It was exactly what I was in the mood for after a day of travel. My colleague ordered one of the fish entrées and thoroughly enjoyed it as well, so we both left impressed with our meals. The prices were fair for the quality of the food, portions, and service. From the attentive staff to the excellent meal, everything exceeded expectations. It was a great first dinner in Minneapolis, and I'd happily return the next time I'm in the area. 5 stars

The char on the lamb chops was perfect, crusty and packed with so much flavor the mint chimichurri was unnecessary. I ended up bringing one chop and two bones home because I do not gnaw bones in public! :D The chops were cooked to a nice mid-rare and they were very juicy; definitely made me mumble OMG at my first bite. For dessert qRC was brought a birthday brownie slice with whipped cream and a candle. I had the Door County Cherry pie and the house-made pie crust finished with sugar crystals was so satisfying. Not too sweet and a nicely tart cherry filling made it delectable. Our server was excellent, never intrusive but always checking in and filling water or clearing plates. I'm mad I don't recall his name!

We ordered the Candied Bacon flight to share; the menu listed the bacon flight flavors (whiskey jalapeño BBQ, roasted chile brown sugar, honey mustard, 4-pepper blend) and the 8 large, thick slices looked inviting but we had no idea which pieces were which flavor. *Management Suggestion: Get little toothpicks or flags so diners know what they're tasting!* That said, while I tried two pieces I thought looked good and I enjoyed them, RC munched through them unaware they were different flavors, lol. My take: they were ok. I also ordered the French Onion soup as I love trying different restaurants' take on it. Five stars for the soup, it was absolutely delicious. A thick piece of crusty bread topped with melted cheese that dripped over the crock topped rich, delicious caramelized onions and just enough beef stock to be able to call it soup. Banging. For our mains, RC ordered ribs with a side of Buffalo Brussels Sprouts. The ribs had good flavor but were definitely not fall-off-the-bone; more like saw from the bone. We both love Brussels but the beef-tallow fried sprouts with Buffalo sauce and caked in melted bleu cheese crumbles were not good. If you don't like Brussels, you might like these because any sprout flavor was overwhelmed by the bleu cheese. For my main I tried the braised Short Rib Ravioli, generous ravioli in a very rich cream sauce then topped with (I think) bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. I ate one raviolo and it wasn't for me. I thought the filling was bland and the sauce didn't meld with the flavor. I didn't eat it, the manager came to apologize and ask if I wanted something else, but RC was close to finished and I declined. Good on them for taking it off my bill without me asking. Service was five star, atmosphere nice, although the huge flat screens everywhere were a distraction lacking sound or captions. The bourbon selection looked great and I momentarily wished I could try some! :D

It's the whole "oh it's upscale so less is more" concept. And listen, yes, the lamb was amazingly tasty, as were the veggies that came with it. I'm definitely not saying the food wasn't good; it was excellent, it just sorta felt like a rip-off? And the chocolate torte the four of us shared at the end was also REALLY yummy (but $10 for a small slice w/ a scoop of vanilla, so it better be). If you've got money to blow, by all means, but for the majority of us, this ain't it. I was sincerely dubious the moment we drove up. The place is in a hole-in-the-wall run-down strip mall and the parking lot is full of potholes. The Chinese place right beside it looks like they haven't replaced their signage in thirty years, or maybe they're outta business. When we proceeded inside I could tell the owners had done their best to convert a crappy space into something roleplaying as modern and fancy. It felt a little out of place. The ambiance wasn't all that stellar (which is normally not something I much bother commenting on, but again if you're gonna charge thirty bucks a plate, I begin to factor in more nit-picky things like that); there wasn't any music or anything to cover up the perpetual mechanical hum that seemed to emanate from the kitchen? The bathrooms had a similar kind of "gloss" over it. I was unimpressed that the men's was just a unisex stall without a urinal or anything that actually makes it "men's." Like, just convert your two single stall bathrooms into gender-neutral or all-gender (literally all that takes is swapping signage) so people aren't "waiting" for the "correct gendered toilet" when there's zero difference between the two. It's 2026, y'all. We don't need to practice pointless segregation. Service was reasonably quick, food was hot. The server did a good job of keeping up with my in-laws' unslakeable thirst for iced tea. Everyone was polite enough to us. And I appreciated they were open fairly late into the evening on a Tuesday!
