    Burrito Carnitas
    Ben K.

There's just some nights you just want free chips and salsa! We were having one of those nights and stopped by this spot! Plenty of parking in the lot adjacent to the building. As you walk in, you are greeted by a host and seated in this colorful establishment! Chips, salsa, and some sort of "ranch" is brought to the table complimentarily. Service was very present and attentive throughout our stay! The food was what you would expect from an Americanized Mexican establishment...big portions, diverse menu, decent quality. I had the Burrito Carnitas, which was doused in nacho cheese. I left FULL! I think I'd drop in to this place every once in a while, but don't feel the need to go regularly!

Obviously they aren't known for their Wings. Most definitely NOT worth $12.99. Save your money. I only ordered them from here because I was craving Wings and the location was convenient.

NACHO AVERAGE MONDAY: I feel bad for giving this place such a low rating. It was so reasonably priced (well only because of Happy Hour), had a pretty good marg, and very friendly service. But the food was just not good. We got the nachos supreme and it was lackluster. Why so many raw onions?? Then our quesadilla took a really long time to come out.. really not my favorite nacho place AT ALL :/ But if you've got $6 to spare and want a big serving...I guess this is the place for you.

Taco "salad" minus any kind of veggies or guacamole. Literally a shell, beans, cheese, and chicken.

My husband and I got takeout. I got the taco salad, he got fajitas. They didn't include ANY vegetables (including the guacamole) on my taco salad. I actually pulled up the menu on my phone to make sure I hadn't read the description of the salad wrong. I took a pic because I honestly couldn't believe someone would call it a salad of any kind. The fajita beef tasted entirely unseasoned - couldn't even taste any salt or pepper - and was a tough texture. Tasted like they just stir fried some plain beef and called it fajita meat. Maybe I should have stuck to something cheese and sauce covered like enchiladas?

If you're in the mood for some Mexican comfort food check out El Loro! I live right down the road from here and unfortunately this area doesn't have much restaurant-wise. I've heard some talk from people that this particular location has had trouble keeping a restaurant in business. It's too bad, because I feel this area in particular is in a real need for a few more great hangout spots. Regardless, it's looking like El Loro will be what does the trick for us! For starters, I love how family-friendly this place is. My wife and I bring our 2 year old here with us and every time he throws rice all over the place. The staff is more than happy to stop by multiple times and sweep it up though. One of the waitresses was super friendly and told us all about her 3 kids and how they do the exact same thing, which made us feel very welcomed! The food was excellent as well. I've got the enchilada rojas and my wife got the ala cart tacos, both tasted amazing. It was also happy hour so we got the medium sized margaritas for 6 dollars each. I don't get margarita's too often but I thought these were very sweet and VERY strong! Definitely a one-and-done kinda drink if you plan to drive home. I thought their bar seating was very nice too. Nothing too big or fancy, but I wouldn't mind coming here for a quick one after work sometime and hanging out. If you're in the area don't skip out on this place! Affordable meals and great service.

I am extremely grateful to our wonderful waitress for bringing this to my attention ahead of time and helping guide me to which menu items were still vegetarian friendly but found my options to be a lot more limited. The best thing I ate was the Spring Rolls, but I had to add my own peanut sauce because they came without. The full lettuce leaf in the roll held it together nicely in the whisper-thin wrapper. Unfortunately the rolls lacked any flavor and were mostly rice noodles and lettuce. Even the three shrimp - sliced in half - lacked flavor *and hadn't been cleaned. :O Lacking flavor was the theme for my dinner as the Lo Mein was bland and the chicken pieces overcooked and dry. I couldn't finish it. Similarly, the vegetarian Egg Rolls were terribly bland and I pitched two of the four. Finally, the Yum Salad had a nice dressing but was otherwise not worth the price.

Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. It's good comfort food cooked with love and an incredible amount of - The Lomo saltado dish is sautéed beef tips that are very tender, rich, and flavorful. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays. Cahill Bistro has consistently won multiple awards for best Latin American food in the Twin Cities, and for me, there is no debate about that. Cahill Bistro is my #1!
