There's also not much waiting space and it's around a small bar, so waits might be long. Thankfully, it wasn't too packed on a Saturday for lunch. We were seated on the patio and served right away. They have a large menu. The margaritas were tasty! We started with the wings and chose garlic and herb for the sauce. They were flavorful and had a nice crunchy outside. The alambre al pastor was delicious! I love a fajita mix on my tacos and the added sweetness from the pineapple was nummy. There were four double tortillas underneath the mound of fixings. I had the queso chorizo chips, and the Torta Birria. This review will begin the service, it was quite well. The waiter came by every 10-15 minutes and confirmed that we were doing well. The service was definitely better than average imo. The space of the restaurant was quite small. However being in a historical being, it added to its ambiance and overall feeling of casa deli. The food was pretty good. The queso chorizo chips was awesome and tasted very good 5/5 on that. Always delicious and authentic! We ordered the Birria taco Super Bowl special to go. They never skimp on the meat! I'm so glad to see they've reopened! The inside is welcoming with plenty of seating as well as a patio when it's nice out. There's even a drive up!! Hidden away in an old train stop is this cute restaurant don't let the name fool you it's not a deli. It has a little bit of everything. Mexican American and Mediterranean food it seems like a lot, but the menu is small which means the food is delicious. what we ordered- 6 piece wings- Casa Hot- the wings were so good. I like my wings cooked well and that's what they were perfectly crispy and so flavorful. Wet Birria Tacos- these okay for me. I loved the fresh salsas that came with them and the meat was cooked well. I'm just not a Birria girl. Pastorcito Burger- I would recommend this burger to anyone who stops at Casa Deli. The food and service are always good. I get the birria torta every time. The choriqueso is good too. I love that their chips are homemade and fresh. The strawberry lemonade is my go to drink, and always made fresh in house. My family tried the fajitas and burrito and loved them both. The fajitas are interesting because they don't come out on a sizzle black skillet like most places. But they're delicious and pieces of larger cut chicken. I love Mexican food, authentic real Mexican food. My wife is Mexican, and this is one of my favorite local spots after picking up a door dash order here once. I've come here three times now since that day. Numero uno: the horchata is better than any other spot I've found in Minnesota. My teenage boys have never had horchata and they tasted it. You know that glisten in someone eyes when they have seen the glory or been exposed to the truth, like they just woke up from the matrix from the 1st time? Yea, just one sip of the horchata and they were in heaven. This is the perfect Burria quesetaco....you don't rush through this, you squeeze the lime into the meat....you slowly pour some of the sauce...you take a bite.....and you slowly crunch as you chew and your mind is taken to paradise because you realize this is what legends are made of. Each bite gets better and better. Or if you're feeling brave, dip your taco straight into the sauce, when I dip, you dip, we dip . So I don't have any complaints about the taste/flavor because it's delicious here. That part is a 5/5, their consommé is SO flavorful and amazing, the flavors hit all the right notes 100%. My gripe is how meager the portions are for the cost. If I'm paying over $4 for a lengua street taco there should be more than a tablespoon of meat on my taco. It's super expensive for what you get. This is a great, slightly hidden gem in the area, that serves up some of the best tacqueria-style, authentic Mexican you can get (but they also have all sorts of other things on their menu, too). Located in an unassuming, old train station/depot, right in the heart of downtown Savage, across from Neisen's Bar & Grill with plenty of parking. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress was super friendly, and the dining area is so nice and newly remodeled. I ordered the Chicken Milanesa torta -- the BEST telera roll bread, homemade beans & guacamole, jalapenos, onions, lettuce, cheese, ALL the fixings -- easily one of the best tortas I've had the privilege of experiencing, with a side of delicious seasoned fries, and a really good "Casa Deli mix" half and half tea (essentially an Arnold Palmer, but better) to wash it all down. My wife and I also shared in some of the best house made chips, spicy roasted red salsa, mild green tomatillo salsa, and guacamole you can get for MILES! Ontop its $5 per basket of chips, if they are going to charge they should give refills on the chips. They give like 12 pieces of cut tortilla chips per $5 is ridiculous. First time I've been there was this weekend for Mother's Day. Loved it! My daughter and I shared the Shrimp tacos and the Wet Birria tacos. Loved both of them. The Wet Birria tacos were different than anything I've ever had. I really like the fact that they gave a wedge of lime for every taco instead of being stingy and giving only one.
