Stopped in for some breakfast and coffee. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. There's a large patio area to sit outside and enjoy on nice days. Employees were friendly and helpful explaining how everything worked. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on croissant and my boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito. The food was delicious. What an adorable place, perfect for breakfast, brunch, coffee, and catching up with friends! I came here in a group of 4 at 9am on a Sunday, and there was a line but we didn't have to wait long. You order at the front, and they will give you a number and bring your food out to the table. This place offers classic brunch items, but also some Mexican inspired dishes, as well as a full cafe menu. Everything was HUGE. My bf ordered the breakfast burrito and it was the size of a pillow. My parfait came in a tall cup, and had two layers of granola, padded with fluffy yogurt drizzled with honey, topped with bananas. We also ordered the Horchata cold brew and the Lavender Coconut Cream cold brew. Both were very unique and delicious! I loved the light floral taste of the lavender cold brew, and the coconut cream was enjoyably thick. LOVE how the cup was probably twice the volume as what you'd normally get in California/Starbucks or whatever! There are plenty of covered outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is laid back and quaint. My coworkers had been raving about Cenote and their fried chicken chopper salad so I finally got around to trying it. Overall the area is a little sketchy but nothing to be too concerned about. There is parking for the restaurant down one of the side streets which we discovered after a little bit which was nice. There was a fairly large patio area where some people were working remotely and others sat to enjoy their food. The inside is a older, rustic style with darker finishes. Honestly not my favorite aesthetic or location but it did have a charm to it. Would have preferred maybe some more comfortable seating and lights. Food wise, I was surprised that the breakfast taco was the star of the show. Now $4.50 for a breakfast taco is quite expensive to me but I must say it was one of the best ones I have ever had. The tortilla was slightly crispy and the flavor of the chorizo and egg together were unbelievable. It had a unique and delicious taste and was pretty substantial for one taco. If you had a small appetite, 1 or 2 of these would leave you pleased. As for the salad, it was quite good as well. I appreciated the nice portion of chicken and the dressing was a creamy white sauce (not ranch) that complimented the dish well. My only complaint is the breading around the chicken would sometimes easily fall off and the breading itself was bit flour heavy. Besides that it was yummy! All the staff we spoke with were extremely nice and the 2 men working the front were doing a great job handling the business. I enjoyed Cenote and it has some great food. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday cause they have a dog friendly patio. I was able to find street parking directly in front of the restaurant but I feel parking could be an issue if I weren't so lucky. Sadly dogs weren't allow inside so I had to wait for my friend to finish ordering at the counter to make my order. Their menus pretty extensive and the quality of food is amazing. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a cold brew coffee. The breakfast burrito was huge! But also f'ing delicious! You wait in line (cause it's order at the counter style) then as you approach the door your hunger increases... and you wait patiently for the moment when you can step inside to... wait some more/.. but finally you place your order, get a number for your table- snag a table down(lots of outdoor seating on 1 covered patios and one inside dining air conditioned area). Then your drinks are called (they have mimosas! At $12/half carafe!) and the food gets brought to your table. Fun vibe, the line moves cause there's ample seating and the food tasted good! This was my second time here and it's such a great coffee shop. It's main flaw is parking but I've either gotten lucky or have been able to find a spot fairly quickly each time. I've enjoyed their iced coffee, iced tea and Cubano. Depending on the weather, their outdoor space in the back is nice and I love the front porch area as well. For working remote, I appreciate how many plugs there are to charge your laptop. The WiFi was good for me (I didn't have any video calls while here). Highly recommend this spot whether it's to work remote or enjoy just for fun! read more

This Austin favorite is a gem I've been to many times, and is well overdue for a review. Although all are great, this Cenote location is by far my favorite simply for the quirkiness and character of it. The coffee is amazing. And they have breakfast and lunch options that are superb. We ordered a scramble and a cup of the soup of the day and both were phenomenal. The potatoes were super crispy as well, which is always important to me! I also love how they have a lot of local business items in there. They use local rockstar bagels for sandwiches and bagels, and have local kombuchas in the cold section to grab and go. We came on a weekday morning and it was actually very crowded and noisy inside. However we sat on the patio and it was SO quiet and could be the perfect place to work if you are looking for somewhere quieter. Cenote is my FAVORITE brunch spot in ATX! Here's my two cents: Food: Fresh and delicious. They have a fairly extensive menu with all the breakfast favorites you could possibly ask for. I went for a traditional breakfast (eggs and bacon) and was very happy with my decision. And of course, a mimosa to wash it all down! Service: You order and receive your food at the counter. The staff is very friendly. We visited on a Saturday and it was VERY busy (stood in line for about 25 minutes). If you plan to come over the weekend, make sure you give yourself enough time! Ambiance: there are indoor and outdoor seating options available (and it's all open seating!). The outdoor area is so nice. Visited for the first time on a sunny Saturday morning, and there was plenty of seating outside on the patio/backyard area (also plenty of shady seats if that's more your style). Although there was a bit of a line (~10 min. wait to place an order from the line to the street), the staff moves rather quickly (thank you)! I had the chilaquiles (~$12, which seems to only be on the weekend menu) and a house roast coffee (~$3), and I'd definitely get them both again. They've got an extensive menu, so plenty of other options to try as well. Will definitely be back. As with most of the spots in East Austin, make sure you look around for street parking within the surrounding blocks because you're unlikely to find something right outside. read more

It's your typical American - Mexican fusion breakfast place that serves up breakfast burritos, yogurt parfaits, and coffee. HOWEVER, I did not expect them to be so generous with their portion sizes! I ordered the Grande Grilled Breakfast Burrito and bacon empanada. The burrito was packed with bacon, eggs, cheese, and potatos and I could barely wrap my hands around it. They grilled it to perfection, giving it a nice crispy texture when I bit into it. I'm not even a breakfast burrito lover, but this one has got me feeling something. Typically empanadas are a little bit bigger than a slice of an orange. And that's what I expected when I ordered it. Wrong move! The empanada that came out was half the size of a plate. I basically got a whole other meal! The flavor though and the flaky crust were just *Chefs kiss* I stuffed myself silly with the burrito and empanada and left 10lbs heavier. Delicious coffee and breakfast tacos! We stayed in the neighborhood and came here every morning. The migas taco was a favorite in our group. I discovered the yogurt parfait and - even though I'm not a yogurt and granola sort of person- I fell in love. They have a happy hour right before they close at 4 pm.
