Professional, quick, transparent pricing, knowledgeable, great to work with. Fixed my computer and upgraded my hard drive in a day!

We came in looking for a replacement motherboard, and the owner assisted us in narrowing down an appropriate choice. Was very knowledgeable, and we were able to talk about the tech requirements with no difficulties. We were well looked after, and able to talk both shop and shoot the breeze. I recommend to anyone needing to upgrade their parts, replace tech or get technical help. read more

I had Rizwan build me a gaming PC last year and it has really been a huge upgrade on my old computer. Thanks for the help, Rizwan!

Fixed my 8 year old custom PC. Turns out I had a bad memory stick. Replaced it with matching memory and cleaned out a very dirty PC. The manager told me they also can build gaming PCs. Thinking about it read more

Riz installed a Mesh wifi system in my home and was very helpful guiding me in on site planning and later did the actual installation. He listened to my concerns and future proofing ideas. He worked out a solution which met my requirements for what I considered to be a reasonable price. read more

Very pleased to find this useful local service. Thank you, Yelp, for leading me to CCI. Last week my computer ceased working and CCI quickly diagnosed a hard drive problem but needed to check whether it could be repaired. They were helpful in two ways: 1. They advised me to replace my old hard drive with a new solid state hard drive and I agreed. Now my computer is like-new and crazy fast! It's better than when it was new 4-5 years ago. 2. They later confirmed that the old drive failed mechanically and, though I was offered next steps, I'm going to think about whether it will be worth it to pay for recovery. They gave me the old drive back for safe keeping in the meantime. Overall, I highly recommend Rizwan at CCI. The replacement drive was much cheaper than buying a new computer. All of this was done in less than a week and I was kept informed at every turn. He offers a range of computer help and expertise, so check them out if you need anything! read more

I had a good experience here, my Chromebook had a really bad cracked screen and it needed to be repaired. It ended up being a fairly complicated repair because the entire housing needed to be replaced (not just the glass) Though it was difficult to source, CCI got it done. They were straightforward with me about what they could do and what could possibly go wrong and let me decide how to proceed with my repair. Ultimately it was repaired and I'm back in business with my Chromebook. I appreciate having a small local and capable shop right in downtown. read more

My laptop camera somehow 'disappeared', so I was unable to use the video setting on zoom or any other camera function. I tried all of the online suggestions with no luck. Took it to CCI the same afternoon, and the owner had it up and running in about 30 minutes! Great customer service and great technological knowledge. I could not be happier. Price was very reasonable. Excellent experience. read more

Rizwan and his staff are helpful, polite, and responsive. They ask questions to make sure you get the right service or part. If you just want to buy a widget go to a big box widget store. If you want helpful knowledgeable service, go to CCI. They are a small business and really try to make customers happy. read more

The best computer store got my computer upgraded super fast and he made it run so fast and also updated everything in my computer that needed to be update. It's the the store I trust with my computer as I use it for my business. read more

Quick service and fixed my computer at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

I had them do a motherboard processor update and am super happy with the results. I found them when I somehow shorted the old motherboard of my pc and they replaced it even though it was not a custom built system. I went back when it was time to upgrade and I was satisfied with both the price, and time it took. There were some small hiccups, but finding people who will do reliable upgrade work is very difficult, and to have success twice in a row is a pretty good recommendation in my book. I now have a smoking fast pc. read more

UPDATE: i took my star back. Took me a week to get my machine back to where it was and on top of that my old drive isn't useable at all. I don't know what this guy did to it but this is ridiculous. --- What a mess this was. The guy there is knowledgeable and you can see from other reviews they've done plenty of good work, but this was a far cry from that and even that wouldn't be so bad if he didn't try to work me into still paying him full price. I came to them wanting to install a second hard drive in my desktop pc. Simple stuff, I even know how to do it. But when I opened up my machine something looked off so I figured I'd take it to a pro and avoid the hassle. Turns out it wasn't just me and the way my machine is set up it can't have a second hard drive. Fair enough, but I still wanted the new drive, so they said they'd move all my data over and sell me an enclosure that would make my old drive an external drive and i could pick my machine up the next day. Sounds like a plan! I'm all for it. The next day he told me that for some reason the new drive wouldn't boot, but he could install a fresh copy of Windows on it and I could move all my stuff from my old drive with the enclosure he was selling me. It certainly wasn't ideal, but whatever, I can manage. When I got to the shop he tells me there's a problem with the old drive now. So now I came to him with a perfectly functional computer with all my precious data on it, and he was giving me back a fresh copy of Windows and my old drive that may or may not work right for me..... Now, understand that I should be FURIOUS right now and I'm not known for my patience. But luckily I have backups on my backups, so I wasn't even sweating it. But imagine my surprise when this guy still expected to be paid the original price he quoted me, plus the enclosure for the new drive.... I offered him a very generous amount for installing a drive, the enclosure, and something for his time (merely $35 less than his original quote) and he still whined about it. He ended up with $25 less than his quote and still acted like he was being shorted, even though I'm the one the spent the rest of the weekend fixing what I paid him to mess up for me. I'm giving them a star because I think this was probably just a job gone wrong and they probably are still safe to go to, but he needs to know he can't try to work his customers into paying for stuff he didn't get done read more

My man Riz is awesome. He was very upfront and accurate with his analysis of what happened to my computer. I recently took over a business in downtown Walnut Creek and needed to upgrade the computers. I thought about buying systems online, but then I thought, "I'm a local business, I should support local businesses!" I'm glad I did. The guys at CCI are great. They gave me a good, fair deal on a couple new quality systems, set them up and had them ready for me the next day. I haven't needed service on these computers, but I'm sure if I ever did the guys at CCI would take good care of me. read more

Rizwan helped me fix my laptop that had a faulty hard drive, replaced it with a SSD with Win 10 in less then 24 hours. He also helped persuade my dad to upgrade to 500 gb instead of 256 and was not pushy at all. Riz is very knowledgable and easy to work with. He was the cheapest around after consulting with over 10 people. I will be sure to work with him again. Very professional and friendly. Thanks again. read more

(NOTE: this is a reply to a review reply, NOT an additional review, and as such I will give it 5 stars so as not to unduly drive down the rating in the algorithm-- unfortunately I don't see the Yelp mechanism to leave back-and-forths.) I do want to clarify, regarding the screed left on my review, that the staff person in question clearly doesn't remember me or the interaction, as I'm a 5 foot tall femme female, and his whole reply is about what a male did and didn't do, ask, and the interactions they had. I imagine he'll edit it now. I'm not out to "ruin someone during COVID-19" or commit "character assassination". I think his long, angry response speculating on my emotional motivations, calling me "vindictive", laugh-reacting my review, etc. shows what kind of personality we're dealing with here. I'm not "angry at myself" for choosing to come to the store without calling ahead. I willingly chose to drive out there because it was a very nice night and I had nothing to do, and they absolutely had what I was looking for: a store to browse. I was indeed looking for a particular item and hoped to be able to look for it, or look at the rest of stock if it wasn't there. I enjoy that type of store layout and saw pictures online ahead of time (a bunch of stuff jumbled up on the shelves, sort of a thrift store vibe-- part of the reason I figured I'd come see for myself vs. ask a third party to crawl through), and it does indeed seem like they have a diversity of items that could be interesting. This wasn't a "disastrous quest" of a night-- I got some very good Mexican food right nearby, in the end. But, quite frustrating and confusing interpersonally. Now, I admit that such a scenario almost begs belief (why wouldn't an owner want people to look at his stock?), and it is more likely that someone would be annoyingly overhelpful and a patron with poor boundaries be irritated. The store owner and I appear to be from the same cultural background (and both small business owners, btw) and I have noticed that sometimes people from our background handle their small shops in a way such that they want to be very involved with each item the customer looks at, and proudly guide them item by item, vs a more hands-off approach where customers have the increased liberty that is customary here. (And again, before this is called racist or something like that, I am the same race and in a comparable business position myself. This may have absolutely nothing to do with it.) That is completely fine but not everyone will enjoy that and you need to respect someone's personal space when they tell you no. A wise business owner would respond tactfully to a poor review and hope that the public concludes it was a disgruntled, mistaken, or unreasonable customer, or someone having a bad night. Every business will be subject to some unreasonable customers at some point. Or, one could even take this as a lesson in one perspective that a customer might have on your style. On the other hand, an unwise business owner could drag out every retort in the book and put his unpleasant affect on display for the world to see. read more

Jonathan took great care of me and my machine. He was able to assess the situation quickly and set some reasonable expectations for me. I could tell he had a few other projects he was working on at the same time (and another customer walked in moments after me), but he managed my machine and gave me a nice turnaround time. He understood it was my work machine and wanted to get it back to me when he could. This is the 2nd time I've used this business and I'm just as satisfied as before. Highly recommended. read more

Jonathon is a wizard! I was near wit's end struggling to get my iPhone and iTunes working on my new Dell laptop running Windows 7. He did what I was unable to do - even with 16 hours of online help from Microsoft's and Apple's websites, an hour plus on the phone with an Apple iPhone support technician, and two hours of service from a paid computer technician. To condense the saga, I attempted to move iTunes from my old 32-bit OS pc to my new 64-bit OS pc. In doing so, 32-bit code was embedded deeply in the new operating system causing attempts to load iTunes 64-bit version to fail. I attempted all of the fixes that I could find on Microsoft's and Apple's websites (several times in complete detail) to no avail. It seemed that reverting back to the original out-of-the-box system state was the only fix that I knew would work, but that was not a good option for me. I took the pc to Jonathon at CCI along with screen shots of error messages I was receiving. He fixed my laptop in less than 24 hours. I had my computer back. iTunes was installed and my iPhone was ready to be synched. This is the best money I will spend this Christmas. read more

These folks do great work. My son is starting school at St Mary's tomorrow. He was doing some prep work and His computer died. It would not boot up! Even though we have a warranty at Best Buy they could not see him until late on Friday and then based upon their "phone diagnosis" they would not commit to anything less than 3 Weeks for the repair. We couldn't wait three weeks so after calling around we ended up at CCI Computers. The owner Riz was incredibly helpful. My son is freaking out, we need that computer!! Riz and the computer technician worked their magic!!' We had the repaired computer in our hand by 1:00 the next day and they manage to save his files!!! These folks know what they are doing! And they are concerned for their customers. A great job! read more

KNOWLEDGEABLE, HONEST and CARING COMPUTER REPAIR! This guy Riz is amazing. He took the time to talk to me over the phone about my ailing laptop (old mechanical drive was slow and screen took a green cast all of a sudden), knew exactly what questions to ask, gave me the prognosis and his recommendation (have him install a new solid state drive, more RAM and hopefully solder the video card cable) with the cost estimate. The very fair quote he gave me enabled me to balance whether to have my old laptop repaired (the green screen might have required a new mother board since the video card is integrated) or put that money toward a new laptop. Just bought the new laptop (from Costco on their holiday sale) which I absolutely love ... 512GB solid state drive, 16GB RAM, 8th gen i7 CPU, 4K screen and less than 3 lbs with 13-inch screen! Riz's expertise helped me determine the new features I wanted. His advice is INVALUABLE. He made me feel like I was getting advice from a TRUSTED FRIEND who knows everything you need to know about computers including how to repair them. Could not recommend Riz more highly. read more

Has been CCI business customer client for 3 years now, Rizvan and his team is always available to help, they handle everything from software to hardware setup for our business, helped me with security networks, backups, all technology setups, laptops, conference room setup, zoom room. Every time we have a problem they are helping us on the spot same day. I could not be happier having them as part of the technology team. Very affordable and quality work. You can trust them to find a most effective solution without trying to sell or upsell the services. They also helped with data recovery and cellphone repair. I wished we had a more small business like them to help the local community with growth and great customer services. It will be hard to find anything close to larger companies, you have to follow their model, and its not as custom as small local businesses can offer. Look forward to being working with them for many more years, I dont look at the price anymore, which is very affordable, I trust and ask for repairs. I opened a business in downtown Walnut Creek spring of this year and I must first admit that CCI is my next-door neighbor. When I moved in these folks were very friendly and helpful in getting my Internet up and running; adding memory to my laptop and a handful of other odd jobs. What I like best is they're not vague but straight to the point and unlike most computer repair places; these guys (Rizwan & Jonathan) have a friendly demeanor! I decided it was high time to get my own personal laptop but the thought of going to an electronics store gave me anxiety; I just wanted more personalized and efficient service. I called CCI and spoke to Riz, gave him a rundown of my must haves in a laptop oh and that I needed it asap! He got me a top of the line Lenovo and got it a day earlier than what he had anticipated. Prior to me going in, he had already done all of the necessary set up himself and when I went into CCI he helped me get set up with MS Office and Bitdefender laser fast. No lines, no sales pitch, no long wait to get the laptop. Not only that but Riz is extremely personable and thorough. You can tell he cares about his clients and that he prides himself on quality customer service. He even called me a day later to check in and find out how the laptop was working. I told him I would write this review on that very laptop. So Riz, thank you! The laptop is epic and I am very happy! Merci beaucoup!! read more

Rizwan and Jonathan have saved me many times when I didn't even know what I needed. Over and over again, they have filled my needs, even when things have been especially tedious as is required in my particular industry. They have built two computers for me at a very reasonable price, which have worked quite satisfactorily for years. They are always professional and helpful and cordial. Maybe they aren't for everybody, but I know I don't want to go anywhere else, especially after searching around for help years ago when I was so fortunate as to find these guys in this seemingly simple shop on Main Street in my own home town of Walnut Creek. You might want to give them a try but it's like my excellent car mechanic. I am not sure I want to tell you. What if they get too busy and I can't get in as fast as I am used to? just kidding. Worst Experience ever! Do not come here. The "president" of the company helped me. He was so extremely rude and unprofessional. Do not come here!!! The store is a disaster, parts everywhere, other people's laptops are all over the counter with sticky notes on them, not safeguarded in anyway. I brought my 13 year old's Dell laptop, it's only 2 years old but somehow the hinge came off and there was a disconnected/severed wire. The first thing the guy said was that he wasn't sure what the wire goes to but might be the camera. I questioned that and he rudely said I should have brought the computer in sooner. I'm 9 months pregnant, not my top priority. He fumbled around for a while trying to get a charger to work and said he could maybe fix it partially. I said I want it back to same condition it started as and he just seemed uninterested in helping. I came in at 4:30 on a Saturday and was only one in the shop, at 4:45 he told me the store closes soon and he cannot give me an estimate. I asked when he could and he said he would try sometime next week. I said please try to get estimate ASAP, he reminded me they close in 10 minutes. I called Wednesday of the next week to check in and he said he could not provide an estimate at all. I have since gone to another repair place and had a great experience. I have no idea how this place gets good reviews. Stay clear of this guy. read more
