CAVA is fast-casual. If you want to order in for the night or meet up with a friend for a quick lunch or dinner, than this is a good place to go. It's healthy, it's filling and so flavorful. I really like the pita over the bowels, their pita bread is fluffy. The spicy lamb meatball is my favorite. It's crunchy and chewy and when you bite into a tomato or pickled onion, it just burst with flavor. I've also had the Sweet and spicy chicken. Do not underestimate the spicy in that one. They have one vegetarian option which is the crispy falafel. I have not tried it yet, but it is on my list. You have to get one of their freshly made drinks. If you had the specially made drinks from Panera or Salata, you will enjoy what CAVA has to offer. I really like the Cucumber Mint, it's as refreshing as refreshing can get. read more

I didn't usually order from here since you can't get anything without onions or specify toppings on the Uber eats app. But I always get their hummus, and red pepper hummus with those pita chips which are INSANELY good. When ordering through doordash or Uber eats, the food service always forgets the free pita, and also fill the bowls to just about halfway rather than a full bowl. I know this place seems to have high ratings, and I noticed the giant photos of Emma Chamberlain on the menu boards (apparently this is one of her endorsement deals). But as someone who just wanted a healthy falafel/Mediterranean fix, this place was a real disappointment and, frankly, more hassle than it's worth. There was a popular Mediterranean food truck further down Broadway I almost drove over to, but chose to go here for the nearby convenience - how ironic that turned out to be! The long lines, the curt food line lady I got for my first experience, and the confusing absence of pricing for sides that I had to ask about, all made the in-store experience dull. But whatever, I got my meal and was ready to dig in when I got to my destination. ... The Chicken Wrap with garlic sauce was nice. Although the wrap was super bready, and the chicken tasted a little dried out, the fresh veg and flavorful sauce made up for this, so I was happy enough with it and it was hefty and filling. Hunger can lower the bar. I ordered falafel on the side and I seriously don't think they should call these falafel. Beware if you order these thinking they will be crispy, dense, and herbaceous as falafel should be. These were like little quarter-sized round balls of mashed beans, like think wet hush puppy or something. Totally wasn't worth the expensive per-falafel up-charge to try them as a side. It's been a few months since the visit I'm reviewing and I can still remember that off-putting texture. Additionally, there was some sort of mix up where I got over charged for a large side that I had only wanted as a garnish side, and I didn't realize (because of the nondescript receipt) that this made my bill much higher and found it in the bag once I began eating later. I tried to get a refund over the phone since I hadn't asked for all that extra amount I was charged for unknowingly. After the assistant and head manager tried to skirt the issue, I finally convinced the manager that I shouldn't have to pay for someone else's mistake. They told me I could only come in to do a refund. On my way out of town I stop by to handle it, and guess what... waiting in line all over again. Do people getting pre-ordered to-gos have to wait in line, too? Annoying. Then they have to rerun the whole charge minus the item that wasn't supposed to be on the original bill, and void the original. So for a few days I had double charges on my account until things updated in the banking systems with the proper single order amount. Again, just a big stinking hassle. I really would've appreciated the management not being so stingy and unapologetic in the beginning, which was totally unnecessary since it was their mistake. But they were courteous and helpful once I went in to handle the return. I think they realized how annoying the hassle for their refund protocol was, too. On a non-busy time of day with a quick line, I'd say it *may* be worth trying a wrap here. But it's relatively expensive, the meat toppings sometimes looking dried out, and the falafel being a downright insult to what falafel should be (even for fast casual). I have zero motivation to try again anytime soon. read more

Recently on a trip to San Antonio we stopped in to Cava for a quick lunch, however at 11:30 am everyone else had the same idea. I get that it is Mediterranean fast food but they need more than one POS as the line went out the door and the tables were soon all occupied. The online order line was even long to pick up. The utilitarian ambiance is fine and they were all working as fast as they could but they need more workers during lunch hours. I enjoyed the bowl I had as I chose the ingredients and it was all fresh and tasty. I will be back, just not for an early lunch. read more

Just okay (at best) - nothing special. Another "let us make you a salad" place. Garlic is used heavily. Generally that is the case when there is not any real flavor to the food. Lot's of garlic here - ugh. The Greek salad is that in name only. Evidently Cava does not know what an authentic Greek salad is; that is fine since the under informed and misinformed customers have no idea either. People behind the counter were certainly not helpful or friendly - just doing a job. Behind our party of 2 was no one, so it was not the "rush" of business that was the cause. They were out of several things including lettuce & spinach!! This at 6:30 PM on Thursday. San Antonio is not known for discriminating tastes, so Cava may live on for awhile. Today was my first time trying this place. I was NOT disappointed! The food was delicious! The ambiance was right up my alley, and the food selection was on point! Those are just bonuses. If I could give zero stars I would but I recently visited this cava and was met by the rudest and most disrespectful server I have ever met. His name was Gilly and when I asked for a specific order he began to show no interest in helping us and showed frustration and indifference. As we were almost done we asked for a extra sauce and he proceeded to say "I heard you" then asked if there was a problem when I expressed some response to his behavior. After ringing us up he didn't even bother to see if we payed for our food and instead stormed off to the back. After we expressed to him that his behavior was rude he decided to come back and talk about us to another employee in front of us. He showed utter lack of care in customer service and even insulted me and my family by calling us b****es. There is a multitude of places I could have eaten at and prices being what they are I expect to at least be treated without being insulted, demeaned, and subjected to derogatory sexist remarks. We did meet with the managers but did not feel they took our situation seriously and just felt they wanted us to leave and move on. I hope in the future you can train your employees in how to properly treat your paying customers and not treat them with disrespect and indifference. read more
