Our main goal eating here that day was to convince our out of state friend how great crawfish is. Her one experience before wasn't great but I knew coming to Crawfish Cafe would change her mind. We started off with a few of my favorite appetizers. First off was some a sampler of oyster. I'm more of a chargrilled oyster fan and that was my favorite of the bunch even though they were all good. I just gotta have calamari anywhere I go. They do it really well here and add some Cajun flair to theirs. We also shared some of the wings. They do more of a dry Cajun rub and it is very good. Two of us went with boil combos. I like the Combo 1 which comes with 1 pound of crawfish, 1/2 a pound of shrimp, 1 corn and 1 potato. It's the right amount of food for me since I am a slow peeler. I also added a sausage link. My go to for sauces is the signature house blend which is a combination of their garlic butter and kickin' Cajun. It always hits the spot. The day we came, the crawfish were big and easy to peel. The sauce was on point and it had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Our out of town guest had the etouffee and loved it, but also loved some of our boiled crawfish as well. I think we did a solid job of converting a once crawfish hater thanks to Crawfish Cafe. This location was great and I would happily come back next time I am in the area.

So I am left wondering: Was simply pointing out an error in my order enough to get me banned from a restaurant? I do not make accusations of discrimination lightly. However, as a Black customer, being denied service indefinitely without a clear explanation, particularly when the only incident I can recall was a routine request to correct an order, raises serious concerns for me about whether I was treated differently because of my race. This experience has left me questioning whether this is another example of "dining while Black." Customers deserve to be treated with dignity, consistency, and fairness. If management believes a customer has done something wrong, there should at least be a specific explanation of the alleged conduct rather than a vague accusation that cannot be substantiated or explained. I am sharing my experience because transparency and accountability matter. I would welcome a clear, honest explanation from the ownership regarding the decision to refuse me service indefinitely. IF ... they only included SEAFOOD ... BUT!!! ... They fill the container with so much SAUSAGE, you hardly get any seafood ... SEE PICTURE! ... Above that, NOWHERE does it say on their menu that sausage is included ... That's FALSE ADVERTISING!!! ... We proceeded to order the large SEAFOOD gumbo and it should ONLY have SEAFOOD in it .... SHEESH!!! ... We get it home and it is filled primarily with sausage ... AGAIN ... We get there and asked to have it made the way we originally requested ... and the server goes to the kitchen and brings back a small container of just the gumbo liquid ... AND we find out the kitchen staff / owner (?) is making HER pay for the container of liquid out of her own pocket!!! WHO DOES THAT!!!??? ESPECIALLY when THEY are the ones who didn't fulfill our original request .... she quite literally had to take out her own wallet and actually pay for OUR gumbo liquid!!!... That is OUTRAGEOUS and COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! THEY are the ones who could've followed the original instructions - not her - and they have the gall to make her pay for it!!!
