I was less than impressed with this location. I ordered Hopdoddy for take out. I got the new chicken lollipops, parm truffle fries, the Wagyu burger & my son got the hamburger kids meal. The chicken lollipops are about the size of drumsticks. I guess they must be smashed down drumsticks? There's a giant bone in the middle, which is about half the size of the lollipop, very little meat. I ordered the buffalo chicken, and the flavor was ok but it was absolutely less than filling. It's a small appetizer. My husband said the Wagyu burger was pretty good but I was super disappointed in the Parmesan fries. The fries were almost $10 alone and they were hard as rocks. I kid you not they must've been sitting there all day because they absolutely weren't fresh. My son said his burger was nothing special. The atmosphere seemed to be OK even though we took our food to go, it's definitely a family friendly spot in the middle of town Lake but again, I was super unimpressed with the food & the service. Per usual they did not disappoint. I always forget that they assign a table to you when ordering which is normally ok but tonight we had more than four people. We wanted outside but the table was too small so we opted to sit inside which threw our order off for where things went but the workers all took it in stride and did an excellent job by making sure that we had everything that we were supposed to. As usual the food was great. We have never gone wrong with anything that we've had here before. My mom who doesn't like sweet potato fries actually loves the sweet potato fries here. Well we were greeted pretty promptly when we arrived. It is counter service at the front door and self serve drinks in the back. It did have a nice flow and decor. We were given our table number and as we were waiting, we were people watching. Very casual atmosphere and people of all ages. In the dining area we noticed that the floors were a little more dirty than they should be and a couple of waitstaff were on their phones for a some amount of time. We even saw one blow her nose behind the pick up area. One of our burgers came to the table without the ranch on it and the other came with lettuce which we specifically recommended no lettuce. Not sure if we will be back to this location for a while. Hopefully these are helpful tips that the manager can address. You never know who is reviewing a restaurant. read more

This is my second time eating here and I enjoy their burgers. This time I ordered a burger bowl and it was what I needed. It was the El Diablo and it was full of greens, spicy, and hit the spot. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries that came out with some aioli sauce. Wish it was a little bigger for the cost. It was nice sitting outside while my kid played in the playing area in the middle of the plaza. She ate and went to play while I enjoyed a more leisurely meal. Minus one star because of two things with the kids meal. 1. The fries were cold and soggy. 2. Adding cheese to the kids burger rang up $1.25, BUT the menu says .50 cents. We came to the Towne Lake location on a long anticipated birthday lunch for one of my sons, who turned 7. We were looking forward to having a huge bowl of parmesan truffle fries and quality burgers that wouldn't break the bank. Hopdoddy delivers on all fronts. You have some incredible burgers, from the classic burger that can be upgraded to a farmhouse deluxe for only four dollars more (bacon, fried egg, crispy fried onions), to the Cadillac Wagyu (1/2 lb patty of grass fed, pasture raised beef). These are reasonably priced. There was a noticeable difference with the beef patty on the farmhouse versus the Wagyu- the Wagyu had a more formidable, bison-like taste. It was the superior meat between the two. In fact you can upgrade any burger to a grass fed, pasture raised beef patty - I would recommend it. Overall, we agree the burgers are of better quality and well priced. The food on the whole was a bit too salty though. We love the fact that the portions are really good. In fact you can also make do with one order of fries - we were able to split one between 2 adults and 5 kids. Great service and food came out promptly and was fresh and hot. They also redid their space from the last time - so instead of a long hallway to line up and order food, the cashier is right at the front. Not the best. Not the worst. It was just a burger nothing to write home about. They ask how you want it cooked. I like mine medium rare. Apparently my definition of medium rare does not meet the same definition as everybody else. This was just slightly overcooked, no salt. It was a little odd, but I like to apply my own salt anyway when I'm not satisfied The fries were meh. Some were soggy and some were nice and crunchy and some just completely burnt to a crisp. Little to no consistency in the fries. And obviously they were not salted appropriately. So judicious application was used. Seriously serving and under salted fry is like selling a Ferrari without wheels. It is a good place to go for a quick burger and a decent atmosphere. I don't know what happened this time. Usually they deliver better. But this was just a little underwhelming. The staff though is amazing they are super nice and super helpful. This location is so spacious! The workers/servers are very nice and were willing to answer any questions I had about their menu. I got the mushroom burger with lettuce instead of buns and parmesan fries. This place has really nice accommodations for people that may not want the traditional burger set-up which I thought was really nice. Their burgers are pretty good, the only complaint I have is that it is small compared to other burger places. I think for the price to be worth it, the burger should be bigger or come with fries or a drink. That is the reason for the 4-star rating and not 5. My family were waiting to order, bar person just kept looking at us, turning and looking, so I tried to get someone's attention that we have been waiting for, the black guy, bar person with sorry attitude asked if we wanted to sit at bar, my daughter is with us, I said no, he responded "well that's where I'm at". Try the Parmesan truffle brussel sprouts!!!! I don't eat brussel sprouts - but these? I CRAVE these. And it comes with a delicious house sauce that adds a kick. So good. I usually just get a regular burger and add cheese to it, but I like their house sauce. And the bun is nice. Holds everything well. Doesn't usually get soggy. Also, try their chocolate shake with pretzels. Surprisingly delicious! I didn't think I would like it, but I really did. I love that this location is in Towne Lake Boardwalk. We are fans of Hopdoddy, but we've noticed over the years the burgers have gotten tiny. I recommend getting the Parmesan truffle fries! We tried the Hot Honey Sage fries and they were okay but soggy and sticky...so I say still stick with the parm truffle. My favorite burger to order is the Magic Shroom burger. I also like the milkshakes and you can make them Boozy! The Nutella Chocolate Pretzel boozy shake is great, I like to order it with Kahlua. The service at this location is friendly, but a bit slow. For those who have celiac's disease, be extra cautious!! The gluten free burger is good & I have ever had any issues with cross contamination. However, be aware that I have already gotten sick from there French fries (that are apparently fried separately) & chalked it up to someone not changing gloves bc I'm that sensitive. So today I gave them a second chance with an order of a burger with a side salad. I thought, for sure, the salad would be safe. When my husband brought it home & I saw it, the first thing I noticed were little croutons all over it! I called to ask is maybe the croutons were gluten free but NOPE. I'm so happy I called to ask bc as you can see in the pic the salad is clearly labeled GLUTEN FREE!!! If I would have eaten it, with the amount of croutons on it, I would have absolutely had to go to the hospital!!! This is not acceptable for people with gluten allergies. Don't serve gluten free food if you can't keep it GLUTEN FREE!!! EDIT: after emails back & forth from the manager, I was advised that the croutons on my salad were, in fact, gluten free. Stop by here. Love the outdoor space, super dog friendly right by the green space. Came here for their happy hour. Very small snack happy hour menu but they have lots of drinks fir great prices. I ordered at the counter and picked my seat. You can order additional food at the table, just flag down the waiter and they are happy to take your order. You do have to pay right away, they do not keep tabs open. Food was made fresh, food is good. I just wish there was more happy hour food to enjoy. Firstly, food is amazing. Automatic 4 stars right there. I ordered a burger bowl, and was sad they ran out of Brussels sprouts (you can choose on a bed of mixed greens or Brussels). I'll let them off the hook since it was only day 4 of their opening they are probably still figuring their inventory situation out. I was not excited to just have the burger on mixed greens, BUT when I got it and tasted the greens, oh my gosh THEY WERE SEASONED GREENS! Why would anyone ever even go to the more expensive less tasty Sweetgreens across the street? My kid ordered the kids chicken tenders and fries. Can't complain. Wife ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Spicy! The entrance was a little suboptimal. When you enter, the ordering station is on the left but you are prompted to enter a line on the right. We fortunately got in before a rush, and that line got huge. Not sure what they are going to do when the line goes outside. I think this establishment may benefit from kiosks to order. Finding a table was tough. A gentleman helped seat us, but again would probably benefit from some sort of digital optimization tool for seating/waiting. He gave us a table number but then someone else sat there. Not the customer's fault because they didn't know, but hard to manage if both of us have kids or parties of 4. Really close to 5 stars! Burger gave me food poisoning. They don't know how to cook their meat properly or they're using old ingredients.. the fries are always cold and small. They forgot half of my order and I had to turn around and drive back for the other half to see the box wide open and customers breathing and talking over it. Gross. The kids size cup is so tiny they might as well not even give you one it's 2 sips at best. I don't know why people continue to give this place their money. We LOVE that they accommodate gluten free - they offer a delicious GF bun and even note down if it's an allergy (my hubby is Celiac so this is important for us). Pros: Gluten free option, grass fed burger, affordable prices for a big family, attentive super friendly service, delicious and juicy burgers, military discount, good drinks, and the lettuce wrap at no additional cost. Cons: The patio is too hot and offers little shade. They have to prop open an umbrella but it covers a small area - wish they would put in rolling shade curtains or fans. The 100F Houston temps make it impossible to eat in the sun. We would love to get a table outside because that allows for our small kids to have easy access to run around the green space. read more

The meat is a really good quality and the bacon was so good. We also ordered the Parmesan Truffle fries with an aioli dipping sauce that was really good. The staff were happy and helpful.
