I just ate the worst po-boy I've ever had at this place. I ordered a grilled fish po-boy combo with coleslaw. They got my order wrong - I got fried fish instead. I didn't want to wait for a remake, so I decided to eat it anyway. The fried fish was barely warm - it obviously wasn't made fresh. Who knows how long it had been sitting out under a half broken heat lamp. Here's hoping I don't get food poisoning. The French bread was soggy and cold, despite only having a sprinkled of wilted, discolored lettuce and, 3 shriveled little slices of tomato that were all still stuck together and packed into the center of the sandwich because the kitchen couldn't cut them properly. The coleslaw was abysmal. I kid you not, this coleslaw was 50% mayonnaise. It was so disgustingly goopy and thick with mayonnaise that I couldn't eat it. Their soda machine tastes off, too. Judging by the looks of the rest of the place it probably hasn't been cleaned in months. It also smelled like egg farts. I don't know if that's wafting in from the gas station that this kitchen is attached to, but it should have been the signal for me to pick somewhere else for lunch. I'm all for dingy little hole-in-the-wall restaurants, but this place is clearly nothing more than the last vestiges of what used to be a decent Cajun fast food chain. I don't expect Catfish Station to be in business for much longer - the people running the place are either incompetent or just don't give a damn about quality. Gross, nasty, food. My day is worse because I went here. If y'all want good Cajun fast food try The Catch on 1960 near Willowbrook Mall. Oh, I almost forgot. This is what I sat in front of while i ate my sandwich. The food at Catfish Station is always excellent--fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Every time we order, the quality is consistent and everything tastes amazing. One of our favorites is the Alfredo with the trio (shrimp, sausage, and chicken). My husband is normally not a pasta fan at all, but he absolutely loves this dish and actually requests it. It's that good. He can easily eat two orders by himself, and sometimes ends up eating half of mine after finishing his. The garlic bread is also fantastic, and they always follow our order instructions perfectly. We've had nothing but great experiences here. I'd seen the sign for Catfish Station on many occasion, but never the actual restaurant. My wife's offer to bring dinner to my daughter's home gave me an opportunity to explore. The unassuming restaurant had a homey, clean and functional interior attached to a convenience store. We ordered 10 Fish, 15 Shrimp family meal with french fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies to go. The fish was fried to golden perfection, but rather mild on seasoning for a "Cajun" restaurant (same sentiments for the spicy tarter sauce and remoulade sauce). We all agreed that the shrimp were very good. It was a split decision on the hushpuppies as my wife and daughter like sweet cornbread and I prefer savory. In any event, all of the fried foods (including the hushpuppies) were fried perfectly. The quality of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant, and friendliness of the staff earns a repeat visit to Catfish Station when I am in the Cypress area. read more

This place is attached to a gas station, and driving on Spring Cypress I couldn't see it, but it is there sort of facing Barker Cypress. The food is very tasty and the portions are quite generous. I had the shrimp poboy and the red beans and rice. The shrimp poboy is 8 inches long and they let you chose between grilled and fried, as well as what veggies you want in it, comes with a side of fries. With the Cajun Sausage with Red Beans & Rice, they give you the choice between white or dirty rice, and it comes with hushpuppies and sausage. The food came out promptly, and everything tasted fresh. This was a pick up experience and I'm so bad for not taking pictures with pickups but I will change that. The food was amazing I had the shrimp basket with red beans and hush puppies. The shrimps were huge, fresh and hot some of the best shrimps I've tasted at a fast food restaurant. They were seasoned to perfection the red beans were good but I've had better but those hush puppies OMG they melt in your mouth they were so good. Wow. What a difference from the experience we had 8 months ago (see previous review). We ordered fried shrimp and red beans and rice, and Mac 'n cheese. Everything was delicious, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. We could tell our order was cooked fresh. The best hush puppies this time too, light and crispy on the outside, and completely done on the inside! Mac and cheese made with penne pasta in a real cheese sauce - so good. Red beans and rice is still more watery than we prefer, but that is a variation not a negative - it was still good and seasoned well. This place was amazing - the Uber driver was extremely slow and it took us about 45 minutes to get our order.. even then, the flavor of the food was worth the wait We ordered a pound of catfish, mac n cheese, cheese grits, banana pudding. I actually wouldnt recommend eating here though they do have an eating area of 6 or so booths/tables plus some single high seating on the side. I find it easier to just go home and eat in peace. The to go boxes are made of paper so no worries about your fried items getting soggy from steam. The catfish is good but still something in their coating I could do without...awkward sweetness and some of the thinner pieces tend to be overcooked. Red beans & rice was a hit, came with some meat as well. I wasn't a big fan of their cajun rice though. Can't go wrong with the fries. Drive thru seems rather dilapidated and since items take a while after ordering, it can get annoying waiting behind cars. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're driving around with no pants on. Catfish Station in Cypress was surprisingly good. They have a convenient location on Barker Cypress Road at the intersection of Spring Cypress. There's plenty of parking. The venue is not large yet there was no trouble finding a table on a busy Saturday evening. You order at the counter and they bring the meals to your table; this process occurred rather quickly. The staff are all friendly, personable and knowledgable when it comes to their menu. Some of their dishes are quite spicy so ask about which ones are if you are not sure. I ordered the blackened chicken, which is served grilled and has just the right amount of "kick". The portion size is large and the chicken was cooked to perfection served with dirty rice and one side. I chose green beans, which were overcooked and watery (would not suggest this particular side). My girlfriend ordered shrimp and grits that is prepared in a cheese sauce. I tasted her meal and it was rich and delicious. Catfish Station is a fairly large menu which includes fried and grilled items. Their prices are fair and reasonable. I will definitely go back. read more
