Fast, but not careful: packing. We hired them for packing. The three men were super fast. Fast came with a cost though. They didn't place anything on the bottom of boxes with dishes and didn't wrap dishes at all other than one little wrap for three plates. These were China plates which ended up crumbled in the bottom of the boxes after the move. Considering we had platters (large glass ones) and tons of China, which was clearly nice China... it seems they would have "thought" to do better. They were great at disassembly. Charging and checkout was rough. These guys took a 45 minute lunch and wanted me to pay $280 for that lunch. No. Then, they wanted cash. They didn't accept Venmo, so they had someone else Venmo'd... not my favourite job ever. Next time send me packers and not movers to pack my house. read more

We had an excellent experience with Jorge and Castro Moving Services! They did a perfect job at a very very reasonable price. Everything arrived in great shape, and they moved amazingly fast! They were very friendly, patient and listened to my requests about fragile items and wrapped up our TV nicely. They have just a 2 hour minimum (compared to many other companies with 3-4 hour minimums), so it is ideal for students or young people who may not have as much stuff but still need help with large items. I used this services in the past and I was satisfied with their services. They usually will give you their rates per hour upfront so you can estimate how much will cost you the move. In a recent move service, they did not provide their rate. They said that they will provide it at the time of the move, since we used them in the past, we trusted them , however we were surprised that they charged us 2500 dollars for a move that took 4 hours. and 1800 dollars for throwing away. They got greedy. This is not the way to do business and feel that we were taken advantaged by this business. I will never recommend them again. I was told by the person at the pick-up location they were extremely careful and professional. When Jorge and team arrived to drop off the piano and bring it up 3 flights of stairs, I can attest that they were nothing short of courteous, professional, fast and extremely careful with the piano. They set the piano exactly where I wanted it, they took care not to damage or scratch anything and they did it very swiftly. Jorge's crew was also very courteous to pedestrians on the sidewalk, making sure nothing was left in the way on the sidewalk and making room for pedestrians very quickly when they needed to pass by. Please avoid this company.I wish I could give them zero stars for horrible service. First of all they were 15 minutes late for a 9am appointment. It should have been a simple move because the only thing they had to move was a couch, coffee table, entertainment center, 2 queen size beds which we broke down the week before 2 night stands 2 dressers and 5 medium size plants. So they started with the bedroom stuff and then moved to second level with living room items and plants. I went upstairs to make sure they had everything and there were 4 screws that came from my bed frame. I brought them downstairs and one of the guys wrapped them up and gave them to me which I thought was odd. So when they tried to take the couch down to the first level it kept getting stuck. One of the men Jorge kept asking me how was the couch brought upstairs and I told him over and over again the delivery guys brought it up. He said he did not believe that because they could not get it back down. I told him I did not care what he believed it came up that way and its your fault that you don't know how to get it back down. So after several attempts and almost 15 minutes later, they decided to hoist it over the balcony. So after an hour and a half we were on our way to the new place. Everything was going good until Jorge told me they were finished. So before they left, I checked the bedrooms and they did not even put the beds together, the mattresses and rails were taped up. I said wow so you are not going to put my beds up and Jorge said oh you want us to do it sure no problem. What kind of idiot would not put a bed together. So when it was all said and done it was about 11:45 so Jorge says ok it will be $300 I said 3 hours is not until 12:15 and you came late at 9:15 so let me call my husband. My husband was furious because Jorge wanted to overcharge us so he told my husband it will be $250. I gave him $280 even through all of that. Here is the killer part of this situation. I put my bed coverings on my bed and had a good night sleep. I did not think anything was wrong until I looked under my bed and found out that Jorge did not even put the support legs in the middle back on the bed. I was in disbelief so we lifted the mattress and there were no screws in the holes so I could have hurt myself if the bed would have collapsed. So the next day my husband called Jorge and he said that he could be back at my house at 5pm. So when I got off work at 4:30 I was rushing home to meet him there. Well my husband called and said that Jorge is not coming because he got tied up at another job. That was unacceptable so I told my husband to do a 3 way call and I told Jorge that he needed to come back to my house to fix my bed. He told me that he was busy with another customer and was tied up and he could not come until the next day. I told him I did not care he needed to come fix my bed tonight. My husband told him he did not care how late it was but he needed to come and Jorge said he would. Well he did not come so we are left to fix our own bed. My husband tried calling him today and he will not answer his calls. Unprofessional is all I can say and movers beware of this company. And then he had the nerve to give me his sister's cleaning service business card which I threw in the trash. I don't want to have any dealings with them at all. Update: My husband called Jorge about an hour ago from one of his other phones because he was not answering. And guess what he answered. He told my husband to fix the bed himself. Zero Stars : if only yelp allowed it. AVOID these people at all cost. We scheduled our moving 1 week ago and they bailed out on the last minute. Literally the LAST minute. Since I had booked via phone/messages I tried confirming with the owner in the morning to confirm our move is still scheduled at the right time and the person says yes, be ready, we will be there on time. But I waited for 2 hours and called n number of times but they do not even have the courtesy to call me up and say they can not come for "some reason". They made two trips total and took an entire garage full of stuff, plus the indoor furniture and anything else we needed (including side yards and shed). I was very impressed with Jorge Castro's professionalism in handling my situation. I rented an oversized truck which was a nightmare to park. He and his employee wrapped my belongings using my old sheets and plastic wrap because they were not going to unload the truck. I simply hired them as pro movers to pack up my house and they came with their own equipment and supplies. No damage to my belongings - I even told them which pieces I was particularly concerned about. They met my deadline even though I was almost two hours late in getting the truck.
