Dealt with Jorge and his brother. Arrived timely but reneged on the agree price. He advertises veteran and senior discounts. I am a senior ( 74 ) and a veteran. I received neither. He wanted only cash after we agreed on Zelle, which he advertises. After I did all the work with my tractor. They did not clean up the debris. I asked for a company receipt. No receipt given. read more

Castro Moving Services - Jose and his team showed up and moved this beautiful piece in a very short time. They are the best! - Movers Near Me

Great movers and very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend for fast reliable service. No problems with payment at the end or timing. Moved entire house (1 bdrm) in 1 hour and 45 min read more

Fast, but not careful: packing. We hired them for packing. The three men were super fast. Fast came with a cost though. They didn't place anything on the bottom of boxes with dishes and didn't wrap dishes at all other than one little wrap for three plates. These were China plates which ended up crumbled in the bottom of the boxes after the move. Considering we had platters (large glass ones) and tons of China, which was clearly nice China... it seems they would have "thought" to do better. They were great at disassembly. Charging and checkout was rough. These guys took a 45 minute lunch and wanted me to pay $280 for that lunch. No. Then, they wanted cash. They didn't accept Venmo, so they had someone else Venmo'd... not my favourite job ever. Next time send me packers and not movers to pack my house. read more

We had an excellent experience with Jorge and Castro Moving Services! They did a perfect job at a very very reasonable price. Everything arrived in great shape, and they moved amazingly fast! They were very friendly, patient and listened to my requests about fragile items and wrapped up our TV nicely. They have just a 2 hour minimum (compared to many other companies with 3-4 hour minimums), so it is ideal for students or young people who may not have as much stuff but still need help with large items. We were overjoyed at how easy, painless and fast this moving experience was, and it did not hurt our wallets. We highly recommend for students in the area. read more

Great moving service, they arrived on time and they were very professional. The have a very competitive price and they did their best to take care of my furniture. They managed to get all the stuff in and out of narrowed places without damaging the property. I would definitely consider them for my next move. Our 1 bedroom apartment in Walnut Creek was moved entirely in the span in two hours. Riky and Victor were lightning quick, extremely motivated and diligent. I highly recommend them for great value, honest work and terrifically efficient moving. They don't speak a ton of English, but they love better than anyone I have ever seen. My highest recommendation for them and their company! read more

I used this services in the past and I was satisfied with their services. They usually will give you their rates per hour upfront so you can estimate how much will cost you the move. In a recent move service, they did not provide their rate. They said that they will provide it at the time of the move, since we used them in the past, we trusted them , however we were surprised that they charged us 2500 dollars for a move that took 4 hours. and 1800 dollars for throwing away. They got greedy. This is not the way to do business and feel that we were taken advantaged by this business. I will never recommend them again. Just note that for another move, I checked other services and they charged me 160 dollars per hour they did an excellent job. read more

If I could give these guys more stars, I would. Jorge and his team moved an upright piano for me from Orinda to SF. I was told by the person at the pick-up location they were extremely careful and professional. When Jorge and team arrived to drop off the piano and bring it up 3 flights of stairs, I can attest that they were nothing short of courteous, professional, fast and extremely careful with the piano. They set the piano exactly where I wanted it, they took care not to damage or scratch anything and they did it very swiftly. Jorge's crew was also very courteous to pedestrians on the sidewalk, making sure nothing was left in the way on the sidewalk and making room for pedestrians very quickly when they needed to pass by. I would not hesitate to recommend Jorge's team to anyone looking to move an upright piano and I would definitely use Castro Moving Services in the future. I am glad I worked with these guys, especially with their competitive pricing, speed and care. Thank you Jorge, and thanks also to the two crew members you had with you to help with the piano. read more

Castro Moving Services - It was 95° out, but that didn't slow them down. Thanks team. - Movers Near Me

Please avoid this company.I wish I could give them zero stars for horrible service. First of all they were 15 minutes late for a 9am appointment. It should have been a simple move because the only thing they had to move was a couch, coffee table, entertainment center, 2 queen size beds which we broke down the week before 2 night stands 2 dressers and 5 medium size plants. So they started with the bedroom stuff and then moved to second level with living room items and plants. I went upstairs to make sure they had everything and there were 4 screws that came from my bed frame. I brought them downstairs and one of the guys wrapped them up and gave them to me which I thought was odd. So when they tried to take the couch down to the first level it kept getting stuck. One of the men Jorge kept asking me how was the couch brought upstairs and I told him over and over again the delivery guys brought it up. He said he did not believe that because they could not get it back down. I told him I did not care what he believed it came up that way and its your fault that you don't know how to get it back down. So after several attempts and almost 15 minutes later, they decided to hoist it over the balcony. So after an hour and a half we were on our way to the new place. Everything was going good until Jorge told me they were finished. So before they left, I checked the bedrooms and they did not even put the beds together, the mattresses and rails were taped up. I said wow so you are not going to put my beds up and Jorge said oh you want us to do it sure no problem. What kind of idiot would not put a bed together. So when it was all said and done it was about 11:45 so Jorge says ok it will be $300 I said 3 hours is not until 12:15 and you came late at 9:15 so let me call my husband. My husband was furious because Jorge wanted to overcharge us so he told my husband it will be $250. I gave him $280 even through all of that. Here is the killer part of this situation. I put my bed coverings on my bed and had a good night sleep. I did not think anything was wrong until I looked under my bed and found out that Jorge did not even put the support legs in the middle back on the bed. I was in disbelief so we lifted the mattress and there were no screws in the holes so I could have hurt myself if the bed would have collapsed. So the next day my husband called Jorge and he said that he could be back at my house at 5pm. So when I got off work at 4:30 I was rushing home to meet him there. Well my husband called and said that Jorge is not coming because he got tied up at another job. That was unacceptable so I told my husband to do a 3 way call and I told Jorge that he needed to come back to my house to fix my bed. He told me that he was busy with another customer and was tied up and he could not come until the next day. I told him I did not care he needed to come fix my bed tonight. My husband told him he did not care how late it was but he needed to come and Jorge said he would. Well he did not come so we are left to fix our own bed. My husband tried calling him today and he will not answer his calls. Unprofessional is all I can say and movers beware of this company. And then he had the nerve to give me his sister's cleaning service business card which I threw in the trash. I don't want to have any dealings with them at all. Update: My husband called Jorge about an hour ago from one of his other phones because he was not answering. And guess what he answered. He told my husband to fix the bed himself. ZERO ZERO ZERO STARS for this company. read more

These guys were amazing, moving a baby grand piano up 32 stairs , which many people i called said could not be done ! They did it with ease . I guess this will sound racist, but i love working with latinos. They are happy, and always looking for ways to help . Highly recommended. read more

Jorge was very responsive. I called on a Monday evening and he was able to move my mom's piano to it's new home the next morning!

I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! They did an amazing job with a long distance move (Reno) (not to mention during COVID). Jorge and his son were not only extremely professional, hard working and efficient, but always very nice and even gave my dog some attention (which he loved!). Everything made it safely during the move and they even helped me with a dump run once all our things were out of the house. We got lucky when the booking service we booked through contracted to Castro moving! I will definitely book directly with them in the future if I move again. If you're looking for movers, save yourself some time and call Jorge now! read more

These guys were amazing. I found them on Craigslist, looking for someone to move an enormous 6 foot tall, 600 pound wooden statue from my neighbor's yard to my own. Oh...AND I needed it done the same day. I texted them and received a quick reply with a very reasonable quote. They came over within a few hours, and moved the GIANT statue lightening quick. These guys were beasts! And so nice, too. I can't recommend them highly enough, and will definitely use them again next time I have the chance. read more

Zero Stars : if only yelp allowed it. AVOID these people at all cost. We scheduled our moving 1 week ago and they bailed out on the last minute. Literally the LAST minute. Since I had booked via phone/messages I tried confirming with the owner in the morning to confirm our move is still scheduled at the right time and the person says yes, be ready, we will be there on time. But I waited for 2 hours and called n number of times but they do not even have the courtesy to call me up and say they can not come for "some reason". NOPE, just leave the people waiting till the very last minute and dont pick up the phone. All I can tell you is, this is not the right way to do business. read more

We worked with Jorge, Vicente and Daniel primarily. They sent a team to my house for a move job. They made two trips total and took an entire garage full of stuff, plus the indoor furniture and anything else we needed (including side yards and shed). When they arrived at the new house they even set up all the dismantled beds and furniture again. They were working at light speed and were communicative and friendly. We had different moving company recently that took almost twice as long to do the same amount of work. These guys work hard, and I would highly recommend. read more

I was very impressed with Jorge Castro's professionalism in handling my situation. I rented an oversized truck which was a nightmare to park. He and his employee wrapped my belongings using my old sheets and plastic wrap because they were not going to unload the truck. I simply hired them as pro movers to pack up my house and they came with their own equipment and supplies. No damage to my belongings - I even told them which pieces I was particularly concerned about. They met my deadline even though I was almost two hours late in getting the truck. I will definitely use them again only this time I'm going to hire the complete service instead of renting a truck. OMG what a hassle! If you're stuck between a rock and a hard place and need someone who is fast and efficient and way less expensive than union movers, then consider Castro Moving Services. Jorge Castro came thru for me big time! read more

Zero stars if i could! These people are illegal and couldnt get into a military base to move my friend. I booked em for myself and they didnt have any moving equipment and ended up scratching my brand new baby crib. These guys were INCREDIBLE!! The day of our move, UHual cancelled our reservation so we had to find an alternative quick. We found them on Craiglist and needed them to move us the day off.
