I have moved with this company three times and I will choose them every time I can in the future. They are super efficient and ready to knock the job out as quickly as possible. My husband and I are excellent packers so when the crew (usually just two guys) shows up we are ready to start moving boxes to the truck. We carry a lot of the boxes, ourselves to speed up the process and reduce our costs due to hourly pricing. I think the price for this company is pretty hard to beat and we've had a really good experience every time with no damage to any of our belongings. My roommate and I used Aarons' moving company yesterday, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. We moved from a 2br single story duplex to a 2br apartment on the 4th floor. We chose Aarons because of the positive yelp reviews, and because it was the most affordable option. We were incredibly happy to find that the team was both very efficient and friendly. The team of 3 movers were scheduled to arrive between 8-9, and they arrived at 8:30 on the dot. They immediately got to work, while I was walked through my contract and all the moving details. I was happy with how transparent they were through the process. I was surprised by how efficiently they packed up our furniture, while making sure each item was thoroughly protected with blankets and shrink wrap. They were also very careful not to damage the walls or floors while packing and unloading. Once we arrived at my new apartment, they speedily began unloading the truck. I was glad to see that they moved items in groups up the elevator to minimize trips and wait times. It even began raining, but they wasted no tome. Instead they just covered the remaining boxes with blankets so that they were protected as they wheeled them in from the rain. Once things were brought up to our new apartment, they asked us where to place each item and made sure everything was carefully placed where we wanted. Nightmare Let me explain. Took an hour EXTRA - meaning, it took them one hour longer to move me out of my current home (House A) into my new home (House B) than it did the guys who moved me INTO the original home (House A). House A - another moving company moved me from a Campbell storage unit to Downtown San Jose, 3rd Floor unit, plus they put together my bed and dining set in about 3 hours. They were fast and efficient! And considerably cheaper than Aaron's. When it was time to move to House B, I decided to go with Aaron's because of the 4-5 star rating they amassed. Plus, they advertised a voucher for $40 or so off, so I purchased that voucher. Only, I was not fortunate - not even a little bit. House A to House B (just 3 minutes away from House A) - took Aaron's OVER FOUR HOURS! And they didn't even have to take apart my bed (it was already disassembled) and the dining set I sold (so that was a non-issue). They didn't even put together my bed at House B! Plus, they refused to honor the voucher I PAID FOR until I threatened them with legal action. They get paid BY THE HOUR, so while I was upstairs cleaning House A, they were outside - away from my sight - doing God knows what. They certainly were not working and were taking forever to come back for more boxes. So, I went outside and asked them why they were taking so long. It was only then that they picked up their speed. It should be noted that when I complained by calling the office that the nice customer service I was originally getting over the phone ceased immediately. It's a shame they were dishonest - both with the time they took to move me + refusing to honor the voucher I purchased. Never again. read more

Did the job very quickly. It's important since you're paying per each hour. And believe me I used another company before and I had to push mover to speed them up. There has to be another company out there like this, but I haven't found one!  If every business gave me service like the one I got with this company then I would be a very happy person, indeed.  Let's start with the fact that their rates were low, but based on that alone is not enough to judge them, especially before they started. They came in clean uniforms, nice organized truck, and positive attitudes. They didn't track dirt in the home and they were careful to lay padding on the nice carpeted area. Such an amazing experience with Aaron's moving company. I've called to find out some rates and conditions, the guy on the phone was very pleasant to talk to, went through the details and explained to me all about moving. I've submitted my reservation form and in about an hour or less Ive received and email with price breakdown and explanations of charges. Paid refundable deposit and received email confirmation. The day before my move I've received a phone call confirming/reminding about my move the next day which was very convenient. My team of movers were 3 hard-working movers, it took about 6 hours to complete my relocation from San Mateo to South San Jose. I will call Aarons moving company back for my future move, simply because nothing was damaged or scratched nor gone missing and my move was completed in a timely manner. Would highly recommend! Moved recently, was really happy. They came on time, confirmed everything in advance, answered all questions. Came with the papers, explained the rights and the responsibilities. We purchased the boxes and did the packing, but didn't pack the wardrobe. They gave us the wardrobe boxes to use. Everything was professional, furniture was carefully packed. Worked quite fast. We worked with Andrew team. I would say I didn't even have the chances to get nervous and start worrying about anything. They packed the furniture, unpacked and put where it should be. Sergey and Co. (3 man truck) moved us from our storage unit (Campbell) and studio (Mountain View's) into our new house in Mountain View. They made multiple stops and were very nice when our move took much longer than it appeared on paper. We had many maneuver heavy pieces of furniture (including a four piece couch) that were difficult to get through doorways and our items arrived unscathed. Update: I'm not sure what happened to these people but I called to have a move done, they confirmed ok for Monday but never sent a quote. They stopped picking up and now on Monday they tell me that it was a "preschedule" and that they had no availability. It's one thing to need to cancel but to do this to people who are moving and are on a time crunch because of it is unacceptable. Old review from 2018: These guys are great. They came when they said they would, and were completely professional and friendly the whole time. It started off with me giving an overview of what needed to be moved and Sergey giving me an overview of the agreement and having me sign it. Honestly I didn't even plan on moving everything completely but they handled packing and everything so I was able to keep all my stuff. We've never used movers before because usually our friends will come and help but I think our friends are tired of helping us move and getting paid just in food. My hubby, Ryan, called a few places and this one seemed to have the best rates, no hidden fees, and were on the BBB. We were moving from a 1 bedroom to another 1 bedroom in the Albany/Berkeley area so we didn't have a lot of stuff. Let me start off with the pros...They were efficient and seemed to have a plan of packing the truck so our belongings wouldn't get damaged and they only took 1 break. Now for the cons...We had 2 movers and they were late!!! They were supposed to arrive at our apt. between 9 and 9:30 a.m. They arrived at 9:50. They were slow in moving our things. We had everything packed and ready to go. We were also not told that they would charge for the drive back to the South Bay. When they were finished, we gave them both a tip and one of the guys had the nerve to negotiate his tip. Now, keep in mind that the rates are $100/hr plus they tacked on gas fees, stair fees, and their drive back. So all in all, we paid a little over $700. I just wasn't impressed at all with their service. I definitely would not use them again for their moving services. I'm mixed about whether I would recommend anyone else to use them since we had a very mixed experience. read more

I was a bit hesitant with movers because I feel it's the luck of the draw, but I was pleasantly happy with Aaron's Moving company. We had a unique situation where we needed to move out one day and move into our next place the next day. A requirement we needed was that the movers could do 2 days - ideally with storing our stuff overnight. They were able to do it for $150 overnight storage which was great. The rate was fair and they offered cash discount of $15 off per hour with cash - which we chose to utilize. The move out of our one bedroom took about 4 hours and 36 minutes - rounded up to 5 hours, and our move in took solid 3 hours. We do have a difficult bed so we expected it to take a bit. the movers were quick though and didn't take any breaks either day. They wrapped our furniture up and it was great. Something worth noting is they do require everything to be in boxes - not open bins, so plan accordingly. We fortunately were able to make that work, but more transparency on the front end would be helpful with that. They had told me that they'd have boxes available, but that could have been a frustrating situation if we didn't have extra boxes already available. Day 1 they showed up at about 1. They had provided me the time a lot of 12-5, which I thought meant it started at 12. What that really meant was that they'd show up between 12-5. 1pm wasn't too much later, but when your making plans for moving and such, that does make a difference. Again, Richards was great as well as his partner (I believe his name was Anthony). They hustled hard with all our stuff. I do wish they had sent 3 people but based off sharing it was a 1 bedroom, it probably made sense to send 2. I think it could have helped speed up the process and I don't think the rate would have been much different for 3 versus 2. That also could have been my communication thinking it wasn't a lot to move. Day 2 they were prompt on time and things moved so quickly with the unloading. I don't think it's very nice just call into negative review like that without getting any services. However my experience was just great! I've called about them days before, got all the details that I need it to know, paid $60 deposit which is refundable so you know, and my move was scheduled. I found Aaron's Moving via Yelp search. I think I made a pretty good choice, because I had no idea how the company worked if not for the reviews on Yelp. I decided to go with it anyway. I moved from a 1 bed to a 2 bed. We had all the smaller items packed and sealed into boxes, so Aaron's had the furniture remaining to be moved. They did a good and a fast job shifting the furniture carefully. The whole move was over in 4 hours (Packing and Unpacking) + 1 hour (Drive Time), so I paid for a 6 hours move which was a little bit more (because the smaller items were already packed, only the furniture was left), but since it was a neat job, it was okay. This is a combined review for two office moves handled by Aaron's during the Covid era. I have expensive office furniture, and am very particular about how it is packaged and handled. I had previously used Aaron's for household moves, and liked their crews. I asked them to send me their best for these jobs, and they did. Five stars to Angel, Allan and Junior especially. Plus one more fellow I can't exactly remember (I think his name is Jamie. The back office (schedulers and dispatchers) are also very responsive and professional. Appreciated that too. The reason I'm not giving this review five stars overall, is that Aaron's charges for certificates of insurance are very high. I paid $600 the first time for two COIs, and $300 the second time for one COI. Still, I like the crews enough that I would use Aaron's again. I used this moving company to move my one bedroom apartment that was already packed when they arrived. They took their time and moved extremely slow and went missing at some point for awhile and I went down and found them sitting in the truck and when they saw me, they got out and said they were having a smoke break. At the point they had only been moving for about 35-40 minutes or so. Then it took them 30 minutes, almost 40 minutes longer than it took me to drive to the new apartment. I got pretty angry at this point and told them they were slacking. It then took them 30 minutes to unpack. Keep in mind they took 1.5 hours to pack the truck. If you choose to hire them, make sure you watch them because if they see you aren't paying attention, they will take breaks and work extra slow. I would also make sure you follow them rather than drive ahead of them. They can do their job since they were hustling towards the end after they knew I was on to them. I really did not like this moving company and would never use them again. And yes, this is the correct company I used. Of course you would lie and say I wasn't a customer. The Aarons Moving men did their usual super job. This is the third time I have used them in the last 20 years and every time they have done a great job. This time they moved the items from our closed offices upon retirement which they had moved to the garage in our house under construction 8 years ago into their proper places in the new completed house. Since we are 83 and 77, we really appreciated their ability to pick up heavy items and move them inside to their proper places, including upstairs. The new owners of my home were moving in on Sunday!!!!! Yikes!!! Horrible mistake on my part. We hired Aarons moving to move from Milpitas to Sunnyvale in May. It was a great experience until it started progressing. In the end: We had almost 80% already packed. I bought additional 30 medium boxes and they started putting unpacked stuff very inefficiently. We spent almost 10 hours with them moving a 3 bedroom townhome and I was still moving my left over stuff for 3 days after the move day in my SUV. 1. They said their truck was full mainly because of how inefficiently they packed and stuffed things in their truck. 2. While moving stuff into the destination home, they scratched wooden floors at various places. When are about it, their response was "sorry". 3. They weren't careful while loading and unloading, scratched and made dents in furniture at various places. Now I have to patch them all or live with them if they cannot be fixed. 4. Later we found that they scratched a few walls where we were moving from. 5. I had to take off from work later because I had to move remaining stuff as we were on a strict timeline to move out. This is after we paid Aarons moving upward of $1000 for their incomplete and damage full move service. I will not recommend them given my experience. read more

Its estimator gave me a quote of $1600, in the end cost me $3300, and still left many things plus lots of packing trash behind we have to clean up. Many boxes were not put to the right room as marked on the box but piled in the garage instead; And in the end we have to unpack from some of the boxes ourselves before they leave (counted into the time) otherwise they charge high fee for each of the big box. So basicaly I'm doing the work and I have to pay them. Whole process was very inefficient, took a long time to try to fit everything into one load (what's the point since the destination is 3min drive away) and eventually failed and had to do another load. Last hour 5 movers trying to assmble two furnitures. Day / night difference from our last mover. Was fast in response to my complains and polite, but solves nothing except saying 'i hear you'. read more

(Mayflower) - 2 man crew at $92.50/hr with a 4 hour minimum, total minimum charge $407 (minimum too long). 2. Pacific Storage Company (Bekins) - 2 man crew at $104/hr with a 4 hour minimum Mon-Fri, and a 6 hour minimum Sat-Sun. (Yikes, WAY too long). 3. Unisource Relocation (Moving Pros) - 2 man crew at $85/hr with a 4 hour minimum (Really, really nice people and the pricing among the best even with a 4 hour minimum). 4. All Reason Moving & Storage - 3 man crew at $150/hr with a 2 hour minimum, or a 2 man crew at $100/hr with a 3 hour minimum, $300 total minimum charge. 5. Aarons Moving Peninsula - 2 man crew at $90/hr with a 3 hour minimum Mon-Fri, or $100/hr Sat-Sun. 6. Moovers Inc. - 2 man crew at $82/hr with a 3 hour minimum (These are nice guys). Aarons Moving Peninsula won out because they could have a 2 man crew come out that weekend at such short notice and at a good price. Viktoria was also extremely nice on the phone and sent emails promptly. Since I had less than 1000 lbs to move, I wanted to find a moving company that had a short minimum of hours, but had a good reputation and was fairly priced. I had used Moovers Inc. before and really liked them, but they had no availability on short notice. Constantine and the other mover (never got his name) arrived early at 9 am. I had everything packed and ready to go except hanging clothes which they put swiftly into box wardrobes (you get 4 for use at no charge). They had all my stuff in the moving van in less than 40 minutes WITHOUT banging my stuff around! They followed me to the new place and in just 30 minutes, had everything unloaded and upstairs!! I couldn't believe how fast they were, yet careful with my items and mindful of asking me where I wanted things put. I didn't watch them like a hawk but worked around them, like sweeping the kitchen while they were going in and out of my bedroom. Truly, they needed no supervision. They got right down to work and did an excellent job. The move took a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes, with double drive time between the locations. I paid the 3 hour minimum charge without a quam. Then, my husband and I were going to go and grab something to eat (and bring it back) -- so we (the polite people that we are ;) asked if they wanted anything... well, of course! So, we bring back their grub, and they immediately take ANOTHER lunch break. My husband and I gobbled up our meal, and cont'd back to work. I looked out the window about 10-15 min's after we had been back to work... and the movers were STILL sitting, eating, chatting, smoking!!! I took a TOTAL of 10 min's to quickly eat. And, NO other break within the 6 hrs. And, they probably took, at least 4-5 breaks... usually 10-15 mins long. Besides the one extra long break of about 30 min's! We had already moved most of our things (heavier furniture) and most of our household items in a previous move - and I think it took them just as long, if not longer! The previous movers really stayed on task, until the job was finished. (I'll review them yet too :) The lady who booked our move was really nice, and she confirmed the move and time of arrival the day before. I was told it was $45 per guy, with a minimum of 4 HRS. And, 5% discount for cash payment. If you don't have very much to move... they might be okay for you. If you have a larger household to move... I would personally go for a larger reputable company. Absolute waste of time. Took Aaron's after Yelp reviews. Was moving a 4 bedroom house within the Bay Area and was told I needed a estimator to ...well... give me an estimate. Made an appointment to see the estimator at 3:00pm on Monday. I showed up at the house at 2:30pm in case he was early. He wasn't. Estimator called me at 3:57pm and told me he couldnt make but could come later that night. No thanks. read more
