Recently I hired the Careful Movers team twice, once to move everything from an apartment into storage (because the new place wasn't ready yet), and then again when I needed to move everything from storage into the new house a few weeks later. Both times I talked to Anthony on the phone to arrange the move, and both times he was extremely helpful and patient with me as I was making plans last minute at a very high stress level. Both times I got off the phone feeling glad I had hired them! For the first move, my movers were JP, Ismael, and Gilberto. They came to the apartment right on time, were super friendly, and were SUPER fast. They wrapped the furniture well using paper and saran wrap so everything would stay protected while in storage. They were respectful of our belongings and even though they were fast I never felt like they were rushed or that they were being careless with our stuff. Once we got to storage they managed to pack everything into a 10x10 unit perfectly! For the second move, my movers were Emanuel, Rico, and Dovato. They were also timely, friendly, fast, and respectful of our belongings. They managed to get everything moved to the new place 2-hours earlier than expected and that was even with an hour long drive and nearly twice as much stuff! Not only did they move the 10x10 unit but also a 10x20 unit I'd had packed full of stuff for years. It can be really nerve-wracking to have strangers handling all of your belongings and personal things, but during both moves I felt that the teams were respectful, discreet, and as the company name suggests, careful! I have a bad habit of micromanaging when I'm feeling anxious (and whew, is moving anxiety-producing!) and both teams were patient and kind with me "helping" direct them. In fact I think renaming them "Kind and Careful Movers" would be an entirely accurate change :) Big thanks to Anthony, JP, Ismael, Gilberto, Emanuel, Rico, and Dovato. From the time I booked a quote with Mat to the scheduling of our move to the calls I received confirming my move was coming up, Careful Movers was totally professional and reliable. Jose N and his crew arrived at 8 am on the dot for the 8-9 am window given for our move. They were professional in every way throughout the 7 hour move. We started with a walk through, explaining what was going to our new location and what was going to be stored in the garage. They packed our extra furniture into the garage with care, wrapping all furniture securely in plastic for safety and taking extra special care of our glass and fragile pieces. There was no confusion or mistake about what was to stay and what was to go. I told them which pieces would go to which rooms in the new house, and they got all my verbal and labeled instructions about placement just right. They took apart and put back together 3 beds, even fixing the drawer pulls that had fallen off my son's bed years ago and were rolling around in the drawers. They covered the walkways in the new house so as not to make marks on the floor while wheeling in furniture and boxes. Jose walked me around the new place before they unloaded and showed me any nicks or scratches already on the floor or walls, so I would be sure to understand if they caused any new damage. They took one short break all day! They carried a sofa, two heavy leather chairs, three beds, and other heavy furniture to the second floor, navigating just fine and adding no marks to the walls. Jose helped me to position the sofa in the living room in the best place, trying out a few possibilities a d advising on what looked just right. I followed his advice. We moved from Foster City to the Central Coast area. We booked the move with Careful Movers months in advance. Of the three moving companies that we requested quotes from, they were the first to respond. That was the first good sign. Secondly, based on the questions they asked us, we could tell they were taking certain things into consideration that the other companies didn't ever mention. The communication was very clear and thorough. Leading up to the move, Careful Movers would contact us several times to ensure everything was on track. Again, very professional. The day of the move (a Saturday)it was a team of four: foreman Eduardo, Eric, Wilber and D1. Each was professional and courteous. Eduardo led the walkthrough before the move started. Taking notes and making sure to inform his team of special instructions. They were quick and efficient. If I had a request during the move, they were very accommodating. After packing/loading, Eduardo and Eric hit the road to our new home. With the understanding that they would spend the night in a secure location and contact us on Sunday morning to coordinate the delivery/unloading. Note: Eduardo shared his location via smartphone so that we could see where they were during the drive. Sunday morning Eduardo and Eric were prompt and began working right away. It was impressive how only the two of them were able to knock out out. Again, everything was efficient, and professional. While we intend to live in this house for a while, we won't hesitate to call them the next time we move. My wife and I had great peace of mind during the entire process. Our experience with Careful Movers started off promising, as they came recommended by our realtor. Unfortunately, it became disappointing due to unfortunate communication and reliability. It became difficult to coordinate details and feel confident in their service. When we needed to confirm additional packing help, we could not reach them, which led to our stress and last-minute scrambling to find another crew. When we finally spoke with the manager, the response was that "we weren't on schedule," even though it was known we might need assistance. Also someone only works 9am-12pm on Saturdays.  We were met with deflection and excuses of why there wasn't a proactive effort made to confirm with us, and we acknowledge we technically "weren't on the schedule" which is why we made every attempt to connect to get on the schedule once we knew we did in fact need the assistance. The whole process and conversation became more difficult than it needed to be. While we did appreciate the boxes they provided and paid for, we wouldn't be able to recommend them to anyone looking for a smooth and stress-free move. Our realtor happened to be at the house with our landscaper at the time and was able to listen to the conversation as well and expressed his own concerns in recommending again. Ultimately, as business owners ourselves, we hope the feedback will help to improve and not just cause defensiveness or deflection . It is an opportunity to improve for future customers as many people do not move as often or as frequently as the company likely has the expertise to provide and make recommendations and reasonable accommodations during such a stressful time for a family. read more

I moved from NorCal to SoCal using Careful Movers. I am very happy with the experience. It was a bit more expensive then other vendors, however, it was well worth the peace of mind. Everything from the initial meeting and walkthrough with Mercedes to get the quote until the move was handled professionally and in a timely manner. We were moving from a bigger place to a smaller place and required a stop at storage since not everything could fit into our new place. It was all scheduled and coordinated and went off without a hitch. The team was able to pack both trucks (We had 1.5 trucks) with the first truck dedicated to our stuff and going to our new place. The second truck with storage items arrive a couple of days later. I was impressed by the packing team and how efficient they were and how well they packed our furniture. In addition, I also transported my motorcycle with Careful Movers as part of the second truck going to storage. I was very nervous about it as this is an expensive motorcycle. Arturo did a great job tying down the motorcycle and protecting it for the duration of the trip. We also had some expensive furniture and team did a great job protecting our items. We did have some minor issues with a planter base that broke and a couple of boxes that went to storage instead of coming to the house, however, given the size and complexity of our move these were minor issues. I've used this company three times already and they're great each time! If you're looking for a fast crew that packs your stuff, moves your things without damaging them, and creating a stress free move for you then this moving company is the company for you! They're very accommodating, I literally called on a Friday last second and Anthony was able to book a crew of movers the same day for me. I was pretty stressed out and packed for time, but Elijah, Jose and Bryan are great! They were super quick in packing all of the things I needed, they were funny, and overall just a great crew to help you move. They definitely de-stressed me when it came to moving, I didn't have to lift a finger! Bryan was like "Show me what you need me to move and you can sit there and we'll do all the work for you!" definitely 110% customer service from those three. Packing -- When they move your furniture or take apart your furniture they wrap it in these blankets that won't damage anything (which is key if you have nice stuff and are afraid of it banging on walls etc as you move out). And the fact that they put the furniture that they take apart and put it back together for you at your new location is a big bonus! I'll definitely book again with this moving company and I'll probably see if I can personally request those three again because they made my life so easy. Anyways, that's all for now! This was the most pleasant moving experience from beginning to end. We downsized an office from 3000 sq feet to 1200 sq feet. Artem, the owner and estimator, was detailed and fair in his quote. We had 2 moves, a smaller one that began at 4:30am! The crew of 4 men, lead by Enrique, were quick, efficient and so respectful! Angel, David, Judas & Enrique, what a great team. We were officially, their earliest move to date, and they did a great job and finished 45 minutes ahead of schedule! The 2nd move a week later that was for 6pm went sideways, but only because of the elevator being broken in our building on the day of our move, ARRGH! Let me tell you this crew of 7 men (the original 4 and 3 new guys) came in determined to get the work done. We were only able to accomplish part of the move that night because the elevator was not fixed in time. So they wrapped and packed and got everything ready for the next day. Anthony, the office manager was so understanding to our plight and they new we had to move the next day once the elevator was fixed. They fit us in the next day at 3:45pm with the same crew, these guys had worked a full 8 hour day and then came to finish our move, still with great attitude and respectful. They worked in sync and by 7:30pm we had everything moved in to our new office. Not a glitch. I cannot express our gratitude enough to all involved in our move, from the owner to the movers. This was our first time hiring movers, and Careful Movers exceeded all expectations. At every step of the way, everyone we worked with was helpful, friendly, and professional. Speaking with Mercedes, my consultant for the move, made me feel confident selecting Careful Movers out of several options. Shanna followed up the day before our move to confirm the details and make sure the guys had all the necessary equipment. Then the moving crew (Hector, Ariel, James) blew us away. These guys aren't just muscle, they are truly moving experts. I have never seen a moving truck packed so efficiently, and they did it in record time. At the drop-off, they ran runners all over the house, made sure every box and piece of furniture got to the right room unscathed, reassembled the bed frames, and even helped us make a few quick modifications to our new place (e.g., removing closet doors). These guys worked a long day to get our ton of stuff moved up and down stairs and through some tight corners, and they were friendly and efficient every minute. The convenience of being able to load up the truck for junk removal on the way out was the cherry on top. We can't thank these guys enough for making our moving day stress-free. We had a great experience with Careful Movers, in particular with our 4-person crew of Alejandro H., Beto, Alex Rico, and Eduardo. We've worked with a lot of movers over the years, and we've had some great and some not-so-great experiences. Based on the reviews, I was hoping for something good, but I was still surprised by how careful and considerate the entire team was. We did absolute no preparation for the move so Alejandro and the rest of the team both packed and moved (it was a local move). They were very quick on packing and disassembling and wrapping our furniture, but we still came through without anything breaking or getting damaged. I had hired this company based on their reputation for care with your items, and this was definitely true of our experience. They made a point of keeping some of the items they knew I'd need (like kitchen supplies) labeled and sorted separately so that I could unpack this first when we got to the new house, and they were great about labeling everything, keeping track of where items went (and asking if they weren't sure), and putting it all back together again. They were quick and thorough, and the pricing is very transparent and easy to understand. Huge shoutout to Ismael, Juan, and Julio from Careful Movers. These guys were great from start to finish! Booking was easy, and they checked in a couple days before the move to confirm everything. They showed up right on time and got going right away. They really live up to the name Careful Movers lol. Everything was wrapped like crazy: plastic, padding, then more plastic. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy. We ran out of our own boxes, and they were able to provide more (for a fee, which I knew going in). What I really appreciated was that they set the boxes up for us instead of just dropping off a pile of flat boxes. We were also behind on packing, and they helped us pack and unpack, which honestly saved us. We ended up needing them for about 6.5 hours for a 2BR/2BA (with a bunch of kids' stuff), and it was totally worth it. They did walkthroughs at both apartments to make sure everything landed where we wanted, and even gave a few helpful suggestions on furniture layout. I had my 8-month-old baby with me and couldn't really help much, but they were super accommodating. They worked around us, let me and the baby hang out on the bed most of the time, and waited until the very end to move it. Overall, just a really solid, thoughtful crew. Careful Movers was a FANTASTIC experience. I have moved with national firms before and this time tried a local firm. I was not disappointed at all. Not only did they do a great job, but Artem was extremely flexible and up front with all their fees. There were no hidden or unexpected charges at all. They used a crew of 6 guys to move our 5600 sq foot house. They packed it all up and loaded the trucks in one day, and were at our new house 3 hours away the next morning by 7:00am right on time. They moved quickly and efficiently yet always being very careful with all the items fragile or not. One item did get broken in the truck, but it was not a big item and Artem gave me suggestions on how to fix it and his suggestions worked out as the item has been fixed as he suggested. Not only did they move the items, they were willing to move furniture from one room to another as my wife and I tried to figure out the placement of items on the fly. They were very patient and even came to us near the end and asked if we had anything else to be re-positioned. The men were pleasant, helpful and hard working.
