So I knew no matter how long the move took and with the long distances, I already knew how much the max cost would be up front with no surprises. And they also offer a discount based on the way you paid them. WINNING! And so, I didn't use Pure Moving just once, but three times this month. The first time, I had to move from Union City to a storage facility in Elk Grove and this past weekend we had two teams going, one from San Jose to Elk Grove and the other from the storage facility to our new home. Pure Moving was perfect in all ways possible. They were professional, prompt, efficient, and super friendly. They handled and wrapped items with care and made you feel at ease that everything was going to be safe and secure. They disassembled furniture as needed and reassembled it on site. One great detail, they laid down plastic protectors everywhere to keep things clean and tidy where they would be stepping. And cleaned up all the plastic wrap/coverings, cardboard and tape they used while packing and unpacking. They literally took care of all the heavy - and even the light - lifting! I cannot begin to explain what a great pleasure it was to work with this company. I am writing this review after an 8.25 hour day with a 1 bedroom move from the northern peninsula to the southern peninsula. From the first call, all of the right questions were asked and they decided to send 4 movers as I had a relatively heavy item to transport from a storage unit. I was not entirely packed when they arrived and they helped immensely by providing wardrobe boxes and making sure to use all of them as effectively as possible. Bill and Gena were PHENOMENAL!!! They had to power through two flights of stairs on the pick-up and 5 flights on the drop off, plus parking nightmares in Chinatown and homeless people sleeping in front of the building. And I have boxes of books and a king sized bed. They just powered through all of it in four hours - absolutely amazing!!! I would never have survived my move without them. And Jane in the office who helped with booking things was so kind and friendly and responsive, even on the day of the move. Zhenya, Maksim and Artem moved my 950 square feet 2-bedroom apartment. The rate was $179/hr plus $39 truck fee minus 7% discount for cash payment. I already moved all the small items. All that was required was transport of the large furniture items, including large and heavy King bed, Bunk bed, Dinner table, and Dresser. The total number of furniture items to move was about 15. It took them 8:45 and I was charged $1473. I appreciate the care that they took to move my items; they arrived without damage, reassembled properly. But 8:45 was much longer than I was expecting, and $1473 was more than I was expecting to pay. read more

It took us a week to fully recover from what I would say was the worst moving experience of our lives. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. In the past 10 years, we have moved 6 times (NY/job opportunities/ moving coast to coast) and it always took us an average of 5 hours to pack and move from one building to the other. Well, because these guys charge on an hourly basis, it took a crew of 5 GUYS a total of 11 HOURS to pack & move an average 2 bedroom apt - from 10 am - 9pm. It seemed like they were not trained and/or hired from third party services. THEY DID NOT AGREE TO WEAR MASKS and we felt extremely nervous & vulnerable since my wife is pregnant (especially given the new delta variant). Due to noise control laws we were extremely concerned that at 6pm they still had not arrived at our new rental. Their manager at one point suggested we slept at a hotel and continue the move on the next day(?!?!?!!?). We said absolutely not, we had a pet with us and then they were able to add two additional crew members at 7 pm to accelerate the process. At that point, with management on their necks the crew rushed so much it was a very messy & rather unpleasant experience. At 9pm the move was over and they charged us for an 11 hour service, which TOTALED ALMOST THE EQUIVALENT OF OUR MONTHLY RENT. WE COULD NOT BELIEVE IT.After discussing with the company's management we were able to negotiate the price down, which I still don't think was reasonable, but we were so tired we just wanted it all to be over with. Unfortunately it did not end there.The next day we found out they packed our freezer and did not label it, only to find all our food rotten. In addition to a few broken wine glasses, boxes packaged with no care and/or logic and a call from our previous landlord saying they left a few drawers behind. What a joke. THEY ARE A WASTE OF TIME & MONEY. Do not hire them. read more

These guys are great! We had a group of 5 guys (Mark, George, & Stephan) do our huge house move. We have some pretty heavy furniture, including a piano and Italian bookshelf. They did 2 truck trips and only took a 15 min break. They were thorough and gentle with all of our belongings, and reassembled everything. They came i a few hundred dollars under estimate.
