My wife and I recently married and have worked to combined homes. We used CEO Moving to move our 60 years of combined treasured items from a 3 BR, 2 Ba home and a small storage place into a slighlty larger home. We were very careful to explain the amount of stuff we had and explained the level of help we would need in order to pack all of our crystal, china and other precious heirlooms. We were prepared to spend a long day with a big crew to accomplish our move. We were happy with the estimated cost of under $3K. We understood that there might be extra charges if it took more time or if more packing materials were used. The final cost to us was a lot more than the estimate (nearly $5K instead of the estimated ~$3k). But the movers performed their work professionally and carefully and handled our precious heirlooms with the care we had hoped for - by far the best care we have ever had from a moving company. We understand how tricky estimating can be and we've moved many times in the last two years and were initially shocked and unhappy that the final bill was so much higher than the estimate. When we expressed our shock and displeasure at the difference between the final cost and the estimate, the GM, Alex, contacted me directly and was so very kind and understanding in wanting to make things right and make sure we were happy with our experience. We worked out a deal that we were ultimately happy with - including having Alex talk with the estimator and the crew about providing clear communication around the potential cost overruns. We were very happy with the service we received. And we were happy to pay the higher price for the top-notch service we got. We were just unhappy initially at the sticker shock. Had we been more aware of the potential cost overruns we would have gladly figured out a way to absorb those costs. Alex promised to provide feedback to his teams so that they understand the importance of good communication. I'm confident that future customers won't have the same sticker shock as a result of Alex's feedback. I would use his team again for any of our future moves! read more

Now that I do not have the movers standing over my shoulder requesting my review before they left for the day, I wanted to note my issues. My first review still stands that the movers were very nice, helpful and took care in moving our stuff. But I am unhappy for a few reasons. 1) when booking CEO movers we explained that the main reason we wanted to hire movers was that we needed someone to move our 300 bottle wine fridge and washer/Dryer. At no time were we told moving large items would cost us $200/item. We didn't find this out until after we got our bill upon completion of our move. Note we have called to explain this issue and we were told it could take multiple days for someone to return our call. We would have never hired a company that cost extra for large items...we should have just gone with a flat rate moving company vs. an hourly company. 2) when asked for a review and tip we had to show it to the movers before they would leave and then we were asked to tip more money. So we then had to Zelle additional money for tip after we already tipped. It was extremely uncomfortable. Really hope someone can return our call to resolve this issue. Thanks! read more

Don't even bother calling anyone else because CEO movers are the best you can hire! Setting up the move was easy - Karina told us exactly what to expect in terms of cost, timing, the number of movers we needed, the size of the truck, etc. Max and his team showed up and helped us move our two bedroom, office/living room/ dining room, all the while being helpful, professional, friendly and polite. They worked extremely hard for eight hours, never complaining, barely taking breaks, and were good natured the whole time. They moved our 600 pound piano down one flight and up two flights of stairs and even went above and beyond, taking a door off the hinges and putting it back when necessary. We are so appreciative of their time and effort because we had a true nightmare move situation: a third floor walkup with no elevator and 4 (!) flights of internal stairs in the loft apartment. Much more expensive than I had originally planned. Took way too long. I don't understand how in the world moving a 1 bedroom apartment 10 minutes away took 8 hours. For perspective, we moved this 1 bedroom apartment in 3 hours last time we moved. So I was simply not expecting this and wish they would have told me that this was an 8 hour job. But I most likely would not have booked with them if I had known it would take so long. They also charge extra to wrap tvs, monitors, etc, which was not told upfront and I didn't see this in the contract. I assume I just missed it but still, this should be included. Everyone has a fricken TV. It really seemed like they were milking the clock. EVERYTHING was wrapped up, fine I get it, but I really don't need you to take 15 mins to wrap up my $20 shelf from target, please just throw it in the truck I do not care. Plus they took apart ALL our furniture. Totally unnecessary as there was plenty of room in the truck, they didn't need to take apart things like our desks. They did break a leg off one of our nightstands. They tried to fix it but it's a cheap nightstand and the wood where the screws go ripped a bit, so the screws don't screw in anymore. It's fine just a bit wobbly so I'll probably just order a new one. The mover guys were wonderful though, very sweet. read more

Ali and team were great! We needed a last minute move and they were available and willing to complete the job. They were also very helpful in general and ensured items were packed well before moving them. At the end, they carried away all the packing materials. Now for some hard facts CEO moving charged $180 per hour which does not include the truck surcharge of $60 and charges extra for TV boxes. I had no option but to noon their services. The exact same move from Zapt movers cost $750 including tips whereas CEO moving total was $1300 not including the TV box. I needed someone last minute and paid the premium but would not recommend as efficient or cost effective. read more

Unfortunately we had a wildly different experience from the majority of the other reviewers on this platform. CEO Moving had 5 stars at the time of booking so we felt confident hiring them for a last-minute move. It was a horrendous experience overall, but these were the three most egregious events: (1) One of the movers urinated on our bathroom floor and left it for us to clean up. He asked if he could use the restroom and we of course obliged. When we entered afterward for a final inspection of the unit, there was urine on the floor around the toilet--it was foul. Another of the movers used our second bathroom and locked the handle before closing the door. We had to use tools to be able to get back in. (2) The crew from CEO Moving took two hours longer to move the same amount of furniture as another company that had completed the same job three months earlier. We only lived at this specific home for a short amount of time so we had not acquired any more belongings. We hired the same number of movers but they were not nearly as efficient. In addition, the move was only a 15-minute drive but somehow the truck left 15 minutes before us and arrived 15 minutes after us. As they unloaded, some of the crew only brought up 1-2 items at a time, and it very much felt they were trying to run the clock and draw the process out. (3) Some of our furniture was damaged AND the movers demanded a larger tip. Although we had misgivings, we decided to still offer a tip for the movers' time. They told us the tip was "too low" and had the nerve to demand more money. We explained that after urinating on our floor, taking two hours longer than expected, and damaging some of our furniture--including a priceless piece my father-in-law built for us--the tip felt quite generous. They made it clear how they felt, and I have held off on reviewing until now because I did not feel comfortable doing so while they knew where we lived. Again, given CEO Moving had nearly all 5-star reviews, we were shocked by the level of inefficiency, entitlement, and disrespect we experienced. Max & team were wonderful--on time, totally professional, prepared with a good size truck with a lift, moving blankets, protection, and wrapping materials. The first thing they did was to roll out blue floor protection as pathways through all areas in the house where they would be bringing furniture. Chairs, table, mattresses, and cabinets were either totally wrapped in the moving blankets and tape, or wrapped with the wide rolls of plastic protection wrap. They even cleverly reused wardrobe boxes to safely pack smaller items. And at the destination, the unload went smoothly and quickly. All packing material was removed from the furniture and my new place left clean. I used CEO moving this past Saturday 10/12 for the local move from Monte Sereno to Saratoga CA. Tony and his crew did an amazing job so they get 5 stars. However, the company management Karina & Alex get 1 star for false advertising of prices for their moving services, bad business practice of billing a customer extra $795 for materials ( boxes & bubble wrap), inability to remedy the situation and disregard of customer satisfaction. Karina negotiated my moving agreement and I have her on the record saying that there are no hidden charges other than $205 hourly rate for a 4-men crew. There is obvious break of communication between what Karina is promising a customer, and what Alex bills customers and what he instructs his moving crew to do. Had I known that the boxes and the bubble wrap that was used for TVs and computer monitors would cost me extra $795, I would have used my own blankets to wrap things. I have emailed Karina and Alex on Sunday 10/13 expressing my dissatisfaction at the extra cost and requesting a refund of $795. It is Tuesday 10/15 and there's been radio silence from both. Unsatisfactory customer service, bad business practices and misrepresentations of cost of service provided are the reasons why CEO Moving is getting a 1- star review. read more
