However I was incorrectly informed at time of rental that if i didn't get back that evening that i would be charged $30 extra, even if i showed up before they opened the next day. I got there at 6:06pm (right after closing) and they were all locked up - my bad. But since i didn't know that i wouldn't be charged if i got there by 9:30, I arrived after 9:30 and they charged me. I could have easily saved $30 if they had given me the right info. Oh and they had plenty of inventory. Have bought skis and high-end outdoor furniture here. Won't be shopping here again.

I bought a bicycle sometime back at REI, and it did me very very well. I'm on a "road trip", so I didn't buy anything today. Prices are definitely on the higher end, but hey, you get what you pay for. If you are an REI member, you get offers, and discounts throughout the year, and a rebate in the form of a gift card based on the amount that you spend every year. Not a bad deal. They carry a limited selection of good new gear. My prize find was a Vintage LL Bean 100% wool jacket with a few very minor flaws. for $50 two years ago. They also offer free clinics on outdoor equipment use and repair. They also have great end of season sales. After trying on Brooks, New Balance and a few others she decided to pick up the Brooks. Service was great and with the amount of customers walking in they had enough sales person to meet the customer's needed without a long wait time.
