I have always wanted my own board since I first tried it last summer and immediately loved it and wanted more. I have been looking at Paddle Boards for a few years now. I have done some research and walked into most of the shops in Bend that have boards for sale. I will say that Stand on Liquid is always patient with my questions and always had answers. Their showroom truly has something for everyone. I took a a COCC class with an instructor from Stand on Liquid and had a truly horrendous experience that completely tainted my view of the company. I started the class and loved it. I was ready to buy a board from SOL. I definitely learned how to paddle board and enjoyed myself until the last day that I attended class. My energy levels dropped and for the first time in the 5 weeks I couldn't keep up. Other students were also having trouble. The instructor left us half a mile behind and berated us when we finally caught up she acted entirely unprofessional. She called me out of shape, overweight and lazy in front of other students!! I was overweight, but that's not something you yell your student who is just beginning their fitness journey and trying their hardest. Most days I was at the front of the group and had no trouble. I've also lost 20 pounds since this degrading and horrific experience. So if that is what being lazy is about then she was right. But really I just think she was a bully and a bad instructor. Love the video reviews since I was going to buy this board sight-unseen and never been on it before. We had a very positive experience renting paddle boards with them. Great customer service! Be sure to bring a vehicle big enough to transport the boards you rent and have someone lined up to get you at the end (or just loop back to your starting spot). Our boards were in great shape. We were all beginners and it took a bit to get the hang of it, but then it was a lot of fun (and a great arm workout!). None of us fell in. We went out of Riverbend Park. They gave us a printout of the boards they recommended so I could comparison shop online and read reviews about these boards. It's completely disorganized--people who answer the phone tell you that they're going to call you back and give you an update on your order, but they never get back to you. I ordered a crap load of stuff from their website and a few items were out of stock, but no one got back to me. A month later when I called again, the items had not shipped yet.
