My experience is from Friday (01/10/2025).I want to thank Angelo for outstanding service during my stay at the Sheraton Phoenix downtown. I ordered the grass fed New York Strip with a side caesar to start. The strip was cooked to perfection! Those Au Gratin potatoes were better than a baked potato too. The salad was amazing! First time experience here....four of us stopped in for a few drinks/food before a show downtown. The location is great and the ambience is super cool. Right now its perfect weather especially around sundown when temps drop quickly. We got a table on the patio and started with some drinks. We ordered a few side plates, the shrimp ceviche and guac were great. The hummus was a different feel but I appreciated the diversity in its preparation and presentation. We got a variety of main courses to include the burger, the trout (the crispy skin was awesome) and the pasta dish with chicken. All of them were good and again nice presentation. Service at the table was great, good communication and attentive. The drinks did come out slow and it wasn't super busy so they might need to take a look at that, especially since some tables may be on a time crunch. All and all, I will return. read more

We tried Carcara during restaurant week, and it was an amazing deal. The service and food was top notch. The ambiance it fun. The big tree in the middle makes it feel romantic and fun. The ceviche was a perfect size to share. The sauce was amazing, I almost wish I had a piece of bread to soak it up and eat it. The short ribs were cooked to perfection. I came here as a last minute surprise for my boyfriend's 25th. Since it was last minute, I didn't realize how expensive it was, but it was a special occasion and we went. The ambiance felt like a fancy modern restaurant if it were in the 70's. I mean this in a nice way since the coloring was different. I ordered the steak snd my boyfriend ordered the fish. There was not a large array of options, but they were amazing. At the end, our waitress gave us cotton candy to conclude the meal. It was so flavorful compared to cheap cotton candy in the buckets. I was very disappointed on my Father's Day Brunch that was not available at Carcara, we were here last Easter & enjoyed the brunch. My Wife booked it & when we arrived there was no brunch service even though it was advertised as a $119.00 per person. Very disappointed that it was cancelled without notice, we could've booked Wren & Wolf. Another issue was that we had about 3 1/2 pancakes, pork sausage, & turkey bacon left to be boxed up, we received only the pancakes in our to go box. All in all a disappointment. The hostess literally didn't speak to us at all. She just looked at us and after we told her how many she led us to a table. Not a great start to dinner. Do not order The Steer as a drink. It tasted like Robitussin. Our server forgot we ordered an appetizer, so we never got that. After we placed our order he came back to tell us the kitchen couldn't make steaks or chops due to a fan issue. But came back a minute later and said never mind. So confusing. My organic airline chicken was ok. The chicken skin was not rendered in any way so it was just fatty and inedible. The risotto was undercooked and you couldn't taste poblano at all and the carrots were slightly overcooked. The carrots were still probably the best thing on the plate though. Sadly seemed very overpriced for what we received. With all the other great restaurants in the area this one won't be high on my list to return to anytime soon. The only redeeming quality was some of the decor. Loved the tree inside. read more

I was disappointed when we showed up about 10 min before the switch between the brunch slot and the next slot (honestly can't remember how they referred to it). Although there were lots of seats available, we were told they could not seat us unless we wanted brunch, and we'd have 10 min to order. We had to stand around waiting for them to allow us to have a seat. I was hoping to sit by the tree, but was told that area was closing. I asked about a table nearby but was told someone had already requested it and that he was just using the restroom (whoever that was, he never came back). We got seated at a different table, not the end of the world. Our waitress checked on us really fast, before we were ready to order. We asked for a couple of minutes, but then she didn't come back for a very long time. After about 20 min of waiting, we had to flag someone else to get our drinks and food order. Let me start by saying that the ambience and food here exceeded my expectations! Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined due to our server. She rarely came to our table for refills and general needs while dining. I am extremely understanding of wait staff (I waitressed in a high volume restaurant for about 5 years). She was unconcerned about her service and was very rude when we asked simple questions. As for the menu and food, though, I wasn't blown away. The menu doesn't offer a lot of variety, and the prices are very expensive (especially for what you are getting). We stopped in for lunch, but left wishing we had gone someplace else to get the same thing for half the cost. The decor says "exotic", but the menu only carries meals that you could find at Applebees (basic salads, bowls, and a few cuts of meat). I'm not opposed to the basics at all, but in a high class establishment like this I expect them to have some sort of surprising, original element to make them their own. Random late night date drink with the bestie. Tried the new spot that was under construction for basically all of covid and then some. We'll they have done well. Drinks were amazing for summertime. Wife enjoyed an espresso martini and I had a wagon wheel "no syrups". Bartender added fresh basil and cucumber rather than syrup and it was so refreshing. It's still quite warm at night but they know how to make Arizona summer drinks. Espresso martini had no milk(cus that's a bad decision "anchorman") and like I said the wagon wheel with cucumber just hits the pallet so we'll in this heat. My sister and I chose Carcara bc we both have celiac and the restaurant week menu was all gluten free. Everything we chose was tasty and filling. I had the soup which was flavorful and spicy, the scallops that had an amazing sauce on them and a delicious sponge cake w mousse. My sister had shrimp ceviche (included 8-9 shrimp), she had to eat w GF crackers instead of tortilla chips bc there is not a dedicated fryer for GF items, she had fall off the bone braised ribs and a delicious polenta. Our cocktails were very good too. We like the new ambiance and the cool tree. They also have a cool bar. Service was also fantastic. Don't forget to get your parking validated. Enjoyed the last night of Restaurant Week at Carcara, loved all the gluten free options! I started with shrimp ceviche, the shrimp were huge, and there were a ton, great flavor! My entree was short ribs over polenta, I scraped the bowl clean! Finished it off with a chocolate dream cake, it was rich and delicious! Our server was great, she swapped chips for crackers because of my allergy, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself is decorated so cool, we sat beneath a lit up tree in the middle. Went to brunch on a Saturday. Hosts were not the nicest when taking info to be checked in. Didn't wait long and got sat at a table. Once seated, 20 minutes passed by and no one came to take our order. The table next to us, got there after us and had drinks and their order taken already due to "being in a rush" from what I could hear. They were dressed fairly nice in suites while I was in regular brunch style clothing. After the waiter took their order, he came to ours and apologized as he could see we were irritated. He said he would be right back and continued to take more than 10 minutes. Our order was never taken and we left due to poor customer service. It was rude, and unprofessional to help the table who got there after as we were able to see how long it had been and still no one came to check on us. read more
