I've been going to this place for the last couple days, getting a hazelnut latte with soy and it is beyond delish! I usually go to Black Rock Coffe in Oceanside, and decided to try Captains grounds a few days ago and so glad I did!! I've only tried the hazelnut latte hot and iced but I'm sure everything is just as good! Plus they use organic coffee and my belly doesn't hurt after I drink it (usually it does when I get a hot coffee) The service is very good, all the girls so far are all really nice and the outdoor has a good vibe! read more

I was excited to find this coffee cart while waiting for a table at Beach Break Cafe. The service was friendly otherwise I would be giving them one star. The workers were very slow and the lady in particular did not seem to know what she was doing and how to make the drinks. Finally when all was said and done, my "dirty chai" had no chai powder, so it was basically an iced latte. Pretty disappointing and I doubt I will go again. read more

I pretty much only write yelp reviews if it's an extremely positive or extremely negative experience. Unfortunately this is the latter. We come here and the businesses next door often, and usually love the vibe. But my boyfriend and I have never been treated such a distasteful way. We were sitting at a table outside with food from revolution roasters and waiting for our drink order from Captain's Grounds Coffee. Leaving the table momentarily, another Captain's grounds customer came to our table and starting pouring out our drinks. As i returned to the table to say we weren't finished, the other customer angrily began defending herself saying these tables were only for Captain's Grounds customers. Not being confrontational, I didn't explain we were waiting for a drink and just let her finish her rant until she walked away. Minutes later an employee came out with a confrontational attitude saying we needed to leave. We explained we were customers waiting for an order. But she wouldn't relent, saying that bc we had food from the biz next door we had to leave. The other customer had also apparently said we had asked her to leave, which was a blatant lie. Honestly if she had just come up and ask to share the table we would have done so happily. But It was the employees attitude and the way she approached us without any courtesy whatsoever that forced us to cancel our order/get our money back and leave. They might feel they are in completion with revolution roasters, but that is no way to compete. We will never return. read more
