I will say that I love the Peabody so much and am writing this review merely out of concern. We went here for my friend's birthday brunch after our stay, and there were just so many red flags - bugs flying around the jam cart, all of our desserts were warmer than room temp like they had been sitting out; when we approached the waiter about a severe life threatening food allergy, he told us "I don't think that has nuts" (there were nuts); there were workers yelling on the top of their lungs and cursing. it was just a mess of an experience for such a lovely hotel. The staff were kind to give our friend a stuffed animal duck as a momento for her birthday, but overall the food was just not good and the experience felt like we were being punk'd. I'll still go back to the Peabody always but please someone closely evaluate this restaurant. Hopefully was just an off day :/ read more

The food was mediocre at best. The filet mignon was bland and arrived cold. My friend had scallops and risotto. They were too salty. The service was awfully slow to get your order after seating. It took 20 minutes and the restaurant was not even busy. The waitress was rude when she gave us the ticket to pay and asked to hurry up because her shift was over. This restaurant is in the lobby of the Peabody hotel. The Peabody has a storied history and is a really cool place to visit. That said, I would go somewhere else to eat. I should say that the food wasn't bad but it wasn't good. I had the risotto, it was meh. We had a salad that was tasty. The drinks were pricey, not worth it in my opinion. Decided to eat inside The Peabody Hotel since we were there for just one night. The higher end restaurant wasn't open so we had dinner here. The service was good. Our waiter wasn't super experienced but he was attentive. We order the caprese salad to start and it was tasteless. The special of the day was pasta with grouper. It was pretty good - large portions. We made reservations for the Capriccio Grill and upon arrival discovered that dinner for the Cappricio was now served in Chez Phillipe. After walking through the beautifully decorated Peabody lobby, we arrived and were seated right away. I decided to order the special which was seared scallops over risotto with Brussels sprouts. It was absolutely wonderful!!! Needless to say, I didn't leave anything behind. The service was great and the Mule that I ordered was enjoyable. Outstanding atmosphere, service and the food was totally awesome. Our server was a young lady named Kayla, she was awesome and explained everything was asked of her. I've eaten in several 5 star restaurants all over the world, I can't think of any place where I've had a better meal (6oz filet/medium rare, rosemary potatoes and stairway to crisp heaven appetizer). Absolutely best brunch I have ever had. The staff was amazing and the food was even better. To start off you get a biscuit, I got the lemon curd with the biscuit and holy cow! Amazing, then the crab cake, then marinated skirt steak and the deserts which were a vanilla mousse, chocolate cake and cheesecake. And to top it off I had a phenomenal Bloody Mary. This is a train-wreck of a restaurant. Walk up and ask to be seated. Told I needed to wait 25 minutes even though there was many empty tables. Was told that I needed to wait because they only have two waiters working at the moment. I wait, come back, and told to wait longer. Come back again. Get seated. Waiter comes by and pours water and introduces himself. He disappears for 10 minutes and I cant even order a drink or food. Strange experience. Restaurant is mostly empty and is dead inside. Our last meal of a 4 night trip to Memphis was a perfect breakfast at Capriccio Grill (A steak-house at night...) at the historic Peabody Hotel. They service a modest breakfast buffet (not to be confused with the more grand-brunch buffet served on Sundays elsewhere in the hotel) which has all the basic breakfast items you need, done really well (unlike the same offerings at other hotels breakfast buffet which can seem a bit stale.) This includes made to order egg and omelette dishes made in the kitchen at your request. The buffet itself had nice crispy biscuits (well done as biscuits sitting in a warming container in other buffets get a bit unpleasant after a while) BIG potato wedges, fruit and well done grits. The star for me was the coffee which was brought to table in a large French press. This was bold and excellent. Way too often at basic breakfast restaurants, the coffee is mediocre tasting and not strong enough. It was perfect here. Also also, they'll do waffles for kids AND Kids eat free!!!! (That really rocked for us as we had 2 kids in the party! My gluten free wife also appreciated the availability of gluten free toast. This was a great, upscale breakfast experience...from the food to the service. We're vegetarians so we probably wouldn't pop in here for dinner...but this is a great spot for a really nice, upscale, breakfast buffet with basic offerings, and a great excuse to go into the fantastic and fun lobby of the Peabody hotel if you're not already staying here. read more

The iced tea was fresh, and for dessert the Peabody (chocolate) Duck was really cute and very tasty. Being that most restaurants are still dealing with the impact of COVID-19 and resultant difficulty with staffing, I'm not surprised that some people have reported poor service here lately. Waited for an hour to get seated. It didn't look that busy. Waited a long time for a la carte frozen buns. Ordered wedge salad that came out at the same time as our dinner not before for some reason. Truffle fries were cold. Steak ordered was cooked incorrect. By the time the next new steak came everyone else was finished. Waited for water and also for waiter to come over to check on our food. For our starters, we both ordered crab cakes which were lukewarm. For our entrees we both ordered the Peabody signature filet mignon with the lobster topping and mashed potatoes as a shared side... the filets and mashed potatoes were cold and bland, and the lobster topping tasted watery. We both were extremely disappointed and my fiancé apologized profusely because he seen the disappointment in my eyes. He felt like my evening was ruined and it was, but I tried to keep my composure because I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I don't like to complain and send food back either. I tried my hardest to make the best of the night, but unfortunately it was already ruined. We didn't order dessert after our experience with the food. :-( read more

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday brunch! The food was absolutely incredible. My boyfriend is severely allergic to dairy, and our server was not the best at accommodating him. She would have him stray away from foods she wasn't sure about, instead of just asking which entres could be made dairy free. Although this was a bit frustrating, one of the other workers- Billy- made our visit so wonderful!! He made me a tasty birthday drink, checked in on us regularly taking care of anything we needed, and truly made my birthday brunch feel special!! Breakfast review: very greasy, hastily prepared food and dangerous disregard for people with food allergies or insensitivities. Dishes and service are very inconsistent. While staying in the Peabody, I came here 3 times for breakfast. I cannot eat gluten, onion or garlic so when I saw their buffet was full of 2/3, I decided to order off the menu instead. The first time I had a wonderful young lady with glasses as a server. I ordered a tea with the 2 eggs breakfast and gluten-free bread. Turns out the dish also comes with an unlisted side which I learned when she brought a bowl of fruit. The other option is home fries with onions. Good looking out! She also came over a few times to check on me. The second time a new server came over with a giant carafe of coffee before even asking what I wanted. I ordered the same thing as before (with my same allergies) and got a plate full of grease and the homefries; I had to send it back. Then after I was done, I waited over 15 minutes trying to get my server's attention to cash out. I finally had to ask my first-time server for help. Another person came with the check and stood over me while I put some cash in the holder even though I said I wouldn't need change. The third time, I had a third server. I ordered a tea with the avocado toast with no balsamic and gluten-free toast (same allergies mentioned). She brought the tea with the bag already in the water and dropped it so fast on the table I couldn't even ask what type of tea she gave me. When the food came, it was on gf toast but balsamic everywhere for days. I told the runner I asked for no balsamic because I have an allergy. She came back with the same plate no more than 5 minutes later saying "they made a whole new sandwhich," except the greens clearly looked blotted (see my picture). I didn't eat part. The food unfortunately is not worth the chance that you get the one good server. Next time: I'll go somewhere else. read more

Everything was good, the ambiance was wonderful albeit, it was a tad too dark for me. The service was just decent. There was a lot of waiting, even with a reservation. It took 15 minutes for the server to return to get my order after she left the menu, lobster came out quickly, entree took 30 minutes, I waited 15 minutes after I was done and wanting my bill. Although the prices were elevated, we expected that in a city. I cannot say enough about the Stairway to Crisp Heaven. That wrapped scallop was to die for and although I'm not a fan of oysters I went back for a second one. Although my son had the mushroom ravioli and said it was "okay", he loved the mushroom side and so did I. I ordered the gnocchi with ragout and it was hearty, delicious, and very different. Hostess and front was very rude and straight up lied to us. When the waiter showed up 15 minutes after we were seated our waiter rushed us into ordering food and then took forever to bring it to us. For how fancy the Peabody is this, restaurant was nothing. Food was ok but not excellent. My French onion soup was so salty it was almost inedible. Chicken Parm was good but other than that the service was not it either, He didn't explain the butter on the board and didn't really give us any recommendations or anything. So we showed up at the Peabody looking for a place to eat. It was 7:30 around this time. We saw this place and took a chance. They had an 8:45 reservation, so we were able to get in for later. So we came back and were seated. It wasn't very busy and there was two other couples where we were. Our waitress was friendly enough. We just never could seem to find her. I ordered baked potato soup, and a bread basket. My husband ordered a pizza and a salad. The salad he liked a lot. The pizza had way too much cheese. Half of it kept falling off. My soup was good. However they forgot the bread basket. And it took us asking two different people before our waitress showed up with it. She never came back to check on us after that. We received no refills. Finally we flagged her down for the bill. It's kind of a shame to spend so much money at a place and get ignored. I could understand if it was busy, but it wasn't. We were very disappointed. We came here to see the ducks before dinner but missed them. They walk at 5pm. The restaurant is in The Peabody Hotel. The restaurant it self looks a little diner like. Not top notch for the price. We sat in a booth and service was a little slow. Brought one drink at a time. We started with a wedge salad. It was ok. One piece of lettuce was brownish. This shouldn't happen. We had steaks for our meal. They were good but presentation is lacking. Just a piece of meat on a plate. We also ordered a Gnocchi side dish. The food was good.
