Is this the best Shawarma in DMV? - Episode 2 Technically this is a Doner which is the Turkish version of a Shawarma. In some cases calling a Doner Shawarma is a criminal offense but who is going to arrest me on Yelp?! This place is next to my favorite coffeeshop so bonus points for that. The staff is lovely! They do have a nice setup and a spacious sitting area which is reminiscent of an actual Doner shop. If you have ever been to Turkey you would know. Their wraps are delicious there is no doubt about that. I would definitely keep this chicken wrap in my top of the DMV. 4.2/5 I would definitely recommend this to you all. read more

Chicken Shawarma is one of my favorite dishes from the Middle East. For me, the lavash must be generously filled with well seasoned chicken, briny pickles and pungent garlic sauce (toum). On all these factors, a Capital Doner did well. I would've preferred a thicker slice for the chicken and maybe toasting the wrapped Shawarma on the flattop a bit to get a contrast in texture, which is typically how they serve it in the Middle East. Maybe a little salt on the fries couldn't hurt either. The service is pretty quick and friendly, there's plenty of seating available, and the prices are reasonable.I recommend not overfilling your wrap with too many toppings when you order, but do as you will. I look forward to coming back soon. read more

Newly opened, this capital doner location is prime real estate on Wilson blvd and should serve as a comfortable and clean late night location for anyone craving doner at all hours. The serving sizes are more than generous, and when you are adding toppings the staff is more than happy to indulge requests for "everything" even if not all the flavors go perfectly together. The man at the front desk was kind enough to give me some baklava while I waited for my order and it was delightful with so much flavor packed into a few small bites. I polished my plate, and will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. read more

Very attentive and thorough service, the portions were large. We got the chicken/beef wrap combo, the beef combo, and the Arabic plate (this was the favorite overall, the meticulous preparation of this dish is what really set them apart from other spots in our experience.) Way over priced low quality food. The naan/flatbread is pre-made, use of frozen fries and most of their produce comes in a bag. Multiple items under a heat lamp including the meat. The cashier can barely understand/speak English and gets your order wrong. You better off going to the nearby food trucks. read more

Food was ok, ordered the hummus and pita appetizer, was told it no longer came with pita bread fortunately they provided us with one pita. My wrap was ok, my wife's Arab platter was pretty good. Service was average. Given the plethora of food options in the area, it's doubtful I will go back. My wife had previously been there and was very happy. Two meals, one appetizer and two waters with a tip was ~$75.00 for lunch. YMMV. read more

I went there between lunch and dinner so maybe the food is better when they are busier and the doner spits are cranked up. But my beef gyro was disappointing. It could have used a little more meat but the main problem is even after all the ingredients were added to the wrap, there was zero flavor! Plusses for Capital Doner were the staff were very friendly and the fries were good. But if I want a gyro I don't think I will come here again. If people read this before eating there, let me know if I'm crazy about the zero flavor or if you agree. I'll check back! read more

This place is entirely subpar Döner. The bread is in actuality a tortilla instead of pita bread or anything similar. Food takes forever even when there's no one else there. And it's overpriced for small portions. read more

Counter person said that meat was a lamb/beef mix. It was horrible! Dry, mealy, low-grade "meat" with a chalky consistency that left a waxy film on the roof of my mouth. Wrap was also cold and flavorless despite tzatziki and hot sauce. Burnt residue remains that tastes like a full ashtray smells. Need to brush my teeth and scrape my tongue ASAP. I can't believe they charge almost twenty dollars for this inedible lukewarm mess. I wish I had read the other reviews before eating here. I intended to go to Guajillo in the same plaza but it was closed. Rolled the dice on this place and lost. (Staff was friendly, though) 12:30 PM Public Service Announcement: After an unpleasant post-dining episode, I did some research - the restaurant was cited on November 6, 2025: 10: 6-301.11 No hand soap provided at the hand sink in the back of the kitchen. Incredible food and staff. Great place to pick up or eat in - the vibes are also great in the restaurant. We love the wraps, and the servings sizes are very generous with fresh produce and wonderfully cooked meat. We come about once a week - it's always awesome. Came in and had the Gyro on pita. You can get it in pita or in a wrap. It was excellent. The service was good and the ambiance was nice with I think, Turkish music. The gyro with hummus reminded me of the ones I used to get in Israel. read more

We had lunch today and completely enjoyed the beef wrap and tandoori wrap. We both liked the choice of sauces and my husband was given an extra sauce for dipping his fries. We were pleasantly surprised to be served tea in a small glass decanter that sat in a pretty ceramic dish. Nice touch and seemed authentic. The restaurant was spotless as were the restrooms. The people working there were friendly and pleasant. Overall a great addition to Rosslyn! read more

I tend to agree the entree was heavy on the mozzarella and light on other flavors. We agreed that the rice was very good, both in texture and mild flavor. The french fries also were very good. When we ordered it, there were 2 small pieces of each item. There was Turkish rice pudding, which was quite good and quite different from what one expects. Also, there was some pumpkin that was sweetened and tender. Creme caramel custard was also on the platter. The baklava was the star of the plate. Kazan makes their own which is orange flavored and awesome! The phyllo dough was crispy and light plus drizzled with honey and the orange flavoring came through clearly. My husband also had a Turkish coffee which he ordered medium sweet. I had Turkish tea which came with 5 sugar cubes on the side. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated with Turkish items. Service from start to finish was excellent. We left feeling like we had enough to eat but not so much that we were stuffed. And, yes, we intend to return!

One of the employees tried to steal my parking spot while my wife and son waited inside the restaurant. (I dropped them off first while I keep circling around the parking lot to find parking). Once I circled around the final time; a slot became available and some jacka$$ in a red Honda CRV license plate starting with THR7**9 said he was waiting for it for 10 minutes, which I knew for a fact is a BS LIE. As the car was pulling out, this asshole reversed in trying to steal the parking spot while blocking the car in, creating a chaos of cars blocking each other since there were cars pulling into the parking lot. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. I had the pleasure of meeting their chef, Mr. Engin, who was not only incredibly talented but also one of the kindest people I've met.
