The most overrated Lebanese wanna be cafe, decor is nice, modern and simple and the facility is clean, but the service is way too slow it took 10 minutes for a cup of coffee. The food is way too overpriced and didn't taste that great. I wouldn't have marked that place as Lebanese or even Mediterranean, nice try though

Tucked away in a residential stretch of Arlington's charming Clarendon neighborhood, Zazzy is a fast-casual Lebanese-style café serving flavorful, health-conscious fare in a bright, welcoming space. My mom and I stopped by for a late lunch around 1:30 p.m. on a sunny Saturday and found it surprisingly quiet for the time. Guests can order at the counter or opt for full table service, making the experience flexible and relaxed. The menu is impressively broad -- spanning flatbreads, dips, salads, shawarmas, bowls, and sandwiches -- with a strong beverage lineup that includes coffee, tea, and even alcohol. The baked goods also caught my eye, especially the Dark Chocolate Pistachio Lazy Cake and Tahini Chocolate Cookie, both of which looked incredibly decadent. The café itself is charming and well-designed, with expansive windows perfect for people-watching and cheerful potted succulents brightening up nearly every corner. Outdoor seating is available too, ideal for enjoying warm-weather days. We both ordered the Chicken Quinoa Salad ($16), which was outstanding -- easily one of the best salads I've ever had. The portion was generous, featuring tender, seared chicken breast over perfectly cooked quinoa, crisp cabbage, cucumber, red onion, fresh herbs, roasted almonds, and sweet raisins. The vinaigrette (served on the side by request) added a subtle, earthy richness, likely from olive oil and other well-balanced ingredients I couldn't quite identify. My mom couldn't finish hers -- it was that filling -- and we both agreed it was well worth the price. Service was warm and efficient, with our meals arriving in under 10 minutes. Zazzy is a hidden gem in the area, but probably not for long -- we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

No reservations needed, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking is available, which is convenient. I needed WiFi, and luckily, it was available at the counter since my cell service was pretty bad. You order using the Toast QR, which is easy enough. The background music was nice, and the staff was super friendly. The place looks new and clean, but there weren't many people dining in. The house lemonade comes in a bottle was not a big deal, but worth mentioning. We tried the Spinach Pomegranate Ousheh, but it was way too bitter. The Freekeh Dates Salad was excellent, and the oven roasted Chicken Batata with garlic paste was terrific. The overall vibe was pretty casual, given the ordering system and the low crowd, so probably not the best spot for a romantic dinner.

This is a small Mediterranean restaurant but very good. It's not a full-service order you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. It doesn't have a lot of choices but what they have is good and fresh. I had a date, walnut, and arugula salad with cheese and Zata pita bread it was very good! I took home a beef dish with rice, pickled onions other items, and hummus overall it was good except the hummus was not the best...

I was heading toward Bakeshop for a coffee when I suddenly sensed a wonderful aroma of beef and spices. The scent stopped me in my tracks, and, before I realized what I was doing, I had to follow that wonderful smell. A couple doors down I arrived at Zazzy, a Mediterranean Cafe. I looked at the menu from outside and zeroed in on the Lahme biajine, a ground beef and mixed spice flatbread. Roomy and modern looking, I peeked into the restaurant. Spotless and nicely designed inside interior, I approached the counter and ordered the food for here. I did not even know that I was hungry until I went inside. I told the counter person of my first time there. He was quite helpful with my questions. I took a seat and, in just a few minutes, the flatbread dish appeared hot and smelling wonderful. It looked quite nice reminding me of an extra thin individual thin pizza or a quesadilla. Delish! Enough spice and portioned nicely, not overly filling. Next time, I may suggest something like a chopped green or red veggie on top of it for some texture. A nice surprise for a Sunday afternoon, and I still got my coffee at Bakeshop a couple doors down from Zazzy.

This is like a Lebanese version of Tatte, although most things in the menu here are meant for sharing, other than the sandwiches, and the menu isn't vast (no kibbeh, for example). It would be nice to see more items in the menu that are for individual ordering, such as more individual plates with multiple sides other than a dip sampler. As for the food, the flavors are very much on-point - very traditional even though I had to take a double look at the English names for the Lebanese dishes. For some reason I thought I was going to get a ful mudamas when I picked a fave bean dip - but it was literally a mashed dip - and I'll admit it was tasty! It would be great to have more pita to go with it - but I wasn't sure if they're complimentary with the dip. The beef and egg breakfast was tasty too - and is their take on the Lebanese qawarma dish. The flavors were very Lebanese - and tasty - and I enjoyed this one a lot. I asked for it without potatoes - and it seems like potatoes are in many other dishes here. I tend to go for side salads, but this is not yet an option. The desserts were good, such as the kunafe baked in dough, topped with pistachio and traditional syrup, which is somewhat a similar take on the Lebanese kunafe stuffed in kaak bread. I thought the pistachio was a nice touch as it added another flavor to what would be overwhelmingly be a lot of cheese and bread (I didn't taste much of the traditional kataifi or shredded phyllo dough (or semolina) - and can't even recall if there was any in it at this time. Overall, I enjoyed it, and the vibe is pretty chill and relaxing, and modern. But I should be planning on coming back with a group to take the most advantage of what this place has to offer. I do plan to come back to try their oushes/manoushes/flatbreads since their pita is really tasty.

My friend and I came here for a late lunch around 2:30ish. It was completely empty which was nice because the place we tried going to was completely packed. I got the chicken batata and my friend got one of the bowls. Mine was pretty good, the chicken was delicious. The potatoes were good, the ones that were super oily thought tasted a little weird. I like the crispy crunchy ones better. It's a cute little restaurant, aesthetically pleasing.

Zazzy is a snazzy new (ish) Lebanese fast-casual restaurant that opened up in Clarendon. My friend looked up restaurants in the area and found Zazzy. Our group of four most definitely enjoyed the food here this past Tuesday. The interior is spacious with a Instagram-able design and detail. The ordering system is pretty casual -- you can order at the counter or using a QR code. We got a bunch to share and thought everything was wonderful! HALLOUMI FATTOUSH - 14.50 A very refreshing salad that was lightly sweetened by tomatoes and pomegranate molasses. All the ingredients were fresh and juicy, making it the perfect salad to eat on a hot evening. The toasted pita added a lovely crunchy texture that I kept wanting more of. So refreshing and I would order this again for myself. ZAATAR - 8 Flatbread with a generous seasoning of zaatar, sumac, sesame, salt. This is my first time trying zaatar and I liked it. The texture is definitely more on the gritty side, but the flavors were good and I enjoyed the soft and chewiness of the flatbread. LAHME BIAJINE - 11 This flatbread was topped with ground beef, tomato, red pepper & onions. It was flavorful and one of my friends really liked this one. Good amount of ground beef and sweetened lightly by the tomato. I enjoyed it, too, CHICKEN BATATA - 14 This has to be my favorite of all the food we ordered. The chicken and potatoes come in a small cast iron pan (I think) and there was a side of pita with a super garlicky sauce. The chicken was pretty juicy and fresh, even the white meat pieces. These potatoes have to be the best potatoes I've had as they were seasoned very well and pretty cheesy. I could probably eat a whole bowl of these potatoes. They were so, so good. The pita bread was nice and the sauce was so good because it was so garlicky. Super tasty all around, yum. DIPS SAMPLER - 16 The dips sampler come with some pita crisps (?) that were already quite seasoned and enjoyable on their own along with a generous plate of pita. The sampler allowed us to enjoy all four of their available dips. Our favorite was definitely the mhamara walnuts. The eggplant tahini and fava dips were good, too, as it's not flavors I enjoy too often. The labne was very smooth but the chips kept breaking every time we would try to dip it in (same with the fava dip). Overall, solid option and would recommend this if you want to try all the dips! Zazzy blew us away with how good it was. I would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!

I really enjoyed my first trip to Zazzy and hoping to try it many more times! I got food to go and it's a large portion for a fair price. The space was very cute, trendy but airy. Staff was super friendly and the wait wasn't too long for freshly made food. I tried the halloumi salad and the chickpea fattoush. The salad was great but my two wants was 1) for the halloumi to maybe be grilled? I think grilling or adding a flavored halloumi would give the cheese a saltier taste which would then offset the sweet dressing and 2) to lower the sugar level in the pomegranate molasses. The taste was unique and tasty but it was hard to use the whole dressing because it was a bit overpowering at moments and needed some salt balance within the salad The chickpea fattoush was filling and tasty, loved the side garlic sauce. I also got a house lemonade which was fantastic. I definitely need to come back and try some breads, dips, and some meat items to give them the full 5 star they deserve!

They were SO friendly and warm, and the food was excellent! The lemonade was so lovely with just a hint of orange flower, and the tabouleh salad was so flavorful with a surprising small hint of cinnamon! Will be back!

Food: 5 Service: 5 Value: 5 Ambiance: 5 What a cute spot tucked away in Clarendon! Cafe vibes with good enough seating for larger groups too (was not too busy around Sunday lunch) You can order at the front or at your table via QR code. The food was so fresh and big portion sizes (we both got salads). Definitely get the dip sampler (comes with pita bread and chips)- everything was great but my favorite was the muhammara! The salads were flavorful and had just the right amount of dressing. I will definitely be going back to try their bowls and more flatbreads. Price point was very good for Arlington and portion size for the price was great. (~$14 for big salad, ~$17 if you add chicken)

Zazzy is a new fast casual Lebanese restaurant in Clarendon. They're still in the soft opening phase, so they may adjust some things by the grand opening. It's already very good. I got their chicken pita. It was solid. Importantly, the chicken was very juicy. While I usually ignore pickles, the pickles they used were notably good. The "garlic paste" they provide as a dip on the side was good, too... just the right amount garlicky to be most enjoyable. Their pitch is that they're bringing together aspects of Lebanese street food with Lebanese home cooking. The "home cooking" aspect really shined through. The food had a nice homey comfort sense to it... It wasn't over complicated, but each element was done with care. The service was friendly. You have to wait a few minutes while they make your food in the kitchen, but the wait wasn't too long. The staff (and I'm not sure if one was the owner) seem to care about the place and about people having a good experience there. I definitely expect that I'll to go back to try more of the menu!

The cauliflower definitely felt more baked then fried and the portion was quite fair. The hot appetizer platter comes with 2 cheese rolls, 2 falafels, and two kibehs. I will say, for $17, I would love perhaps 3-4 of each item instead of just 2 each. The kibeh were super tasty and so were the cheese rolls, but the falafel were a bit dry. For our mains we got the lamb chops and the steak kabob - both were fantastic. Simple flavors but really well done on both ends, with both cuts of meat cooked to order. Brussels Sprouts: Brussels sprouts with grapes, walnuts, fig jam, and mint yogurt--a whimsical yet magical combination... The Brussels sprouts offered a fresh, vegetal aroma and a slightly roasted aroma; the walnuts provided a nutty richness and crunch; the fruit provided a fresh sweet and sour taste and plenty of juice; and the yogurt acted as a binder between the flavors while adding a touch of minty coolness. Duck Shawarma: My friend and I thought: ...Peking duck? The skin was soft, the meat tender, not gamey, with a subtle smoky flavor; the fig and lemon sauce was sweet and refreshing; the small pita pillows held the meat securely, better than the lettuce what might have been too cold. Lamb Stuffed Grape Leaves: Black rice was wrapped in grape leaves and simmered with minced lamb. The rice absorbed the fragrance of the grape leaves, similar to lotus leaves (my friend and I thought: lamb version of sticky rice chicken糯米雞...?). The lamb, however, was served separately at the bottom of the pot and didn't absorb much flavor; overall, it was intensely sour. In short, this dish was a bit oddly designed, and it was the only one we didn't finish because the sourness was unbearable. Pita Bread: The bread was thin yet chewy, with a rough, slightly powdery surface, making it substantial and satisfying. I especially loved the "everything wrapped in a big pancake" style!
