Potato Stew

A large portion of hot and fresh chicken kabobs with fast delivery. The kabobs were lean chicken with just the right spices. The white and yellow rice was just right and well and I liked that the platter included some onions and peppers for a little extra flavor. The naan was as hot and fresh and I've had any place. The potato stew was perfectly flavored and the chickpeas do the job and are fine, but aren't the most flavorful I've ever had. I do wish they had steak kabobs as an option but didn't see it on the menu. I enjoyed delivery from here and will order again.

Qabeli palaw (which is also the national dish of Afghanistan)

Good but not great, at least not for the qabeli palaw (which is also the national dish of Afghanistan). The lamb shank didn't seem that fresh unfortunately and they forgot to give us utensils and had to go back for them. The accompanying naan was thin and a bit dry, although chewy on the edges. The rice however was great! Service leaves more to be desired, attention to detail. The atmosphere felt relaxed.

I visited Courthouse Kabab today while visiting family in Arlington, Virginia. I decided to eat-in after a short walk to the restaurant. The restaurant is small and a unique combination of family-style, combos meals by number, kebabs/kofta, and catering. I love Mediterranean and Afghan food when I am in metro Washington, D.C. because I have limited choices back home for this type of food. The young lady who took my order was so friendly and attentive to my questions and concern for my level of spice tolerance. It was a two-way dialogue to help me make choices based on my palate and food interest. I was quickly served fresh made naan bread, which was lightly crispy with butter provided. My waitress was very attentive to my needs. She brought me water and checked on me often, even while I waited. My meal arrived and was amazing. The rice was tasty, fluffy and visually appealing (colorful). My lamb kabab was tender and seasoned to perfection. The chickpeas were slightly spicy, but not overpowering and the lamb curry was cooked slowly with love and care creating loads of flavor. For desert I chose rice pudding which was creamy and lightly flavored with cinnamon. It is clear the restaurant does a lot of to-go orders or delivery orders, but the dining room was dotted with patrons. There was a steady flow of customers while I enjoyed my meal and people watched. Other staff members were also verbally inviting and happy I chose their restaurant. If you are looking for an Afghan, Mediterranean or a Halal meal, Courthouse Kabab is an excellent choice. I look forward to a return visit before I depart for home and on my return visit to Arlington, Virginia.

This place has my heart!! Soooo good. Pro tip: add the raisins and carrots in the rice I loved the meal for 2 because I got to try a bit of everything!

Food was well prepared with an ample portion of meat/protein. I ordered a beef kabob wrap and my wife got the gyro sandwich. The pitas were soft and definitely freshly baked and the two sauces (one tzatziki the other a creamy green sauce) were just okay. I upgraded my side from chips to fries. Ordering fries for take out is always risky--if the order is delayed, the fries are barely warm. That's exactly what happened. Grub hub is the middle man, and though I was informed by the text that I would be notified when my order was ready, I sat in the restaurant and waited for the next text; it never came. Finally the counter person asked me if I was waiting for pick-up, and when I said yes and gave her my name, she handed me my food. We ate it back at the hotel and sure enough I ate warm fries! Without the order delay, I would probably give Courthouse Kabob a 4, but with delay, a 3 is more appropriate. Kabob is brightly lite and sports a large pictorial menu which is very helpful.

Our go-to takeout/delivery spot! When we lived in NYC for a year, this is the place we missed the most. Nothing beats the tzatziki and shawarma at Courthouse Kabob Vibe: N/A (usually ordering to go!) Value: 8.5/10 - such great portions and fair prices, even when getting delivery Service: N/A Chicken shawarma platter: 9.8/10 Tzatziki: 9.8/10 Naan: 8/10 Overall: 9.025/10 (4.5/5) [To clarify our review system: 10 = we'll never have anything else as good as this in our lives (we use 10 very sparingly!) 9 = extraordinary 8 = great 7 = above average 6 = average Anything below 6 is being critical]

Loved getting the combo platter as a first time visit since we got to try a variety of meats. Both of our favorites were the chicken kofta. We dined in and the food came out super quickly. It's a very casual place, with most people picking up take out, but it was nice to people watch and enjoy our food! Our server and the cashier were super nice and helpful!

This was my first time dining at this establishment. The service was outstanding. You have to go to the counter to order. Once I placed my order. I grabbed a table. I didn't order a drink. I wasn't thirsty. It was a rainy and chilly day. A young lady came from behind the counter with a hot cup of jasmine tea. I was pleasantly surprised and happy. I wanted to give her a hug. She made my delicious meal tasted even better. The food was delicious. The chicken needs a little more seasoning. All in all this is a great place to dine. Keep up the excellent hospitality Courthouse Kabob! I'll see you later. If you're ever in the area...GET SOME!!!

Courthouse has become a go to of mine. After my last review, it's only gotten better. I now crave courthouse kabobs while I'm up in my crane each day. All I can think about is those chicken kabobs and that heavenly white sauce. I'm here now waiting for my food. Can't wait!

I came here for the first time just recently and I ordered lamb over rice, because it was part of a lunch special, as well as a side of red beans and I side of tabbouleh. It also automatically came in with a side of naan bread and I had a yogurt drink as well. This is a cute and simple looking restaurant with good honest service and food!

High Protein, Strategic Eating…read more If you are navigating a serious health journey or, like me, currently in the middle of a "Biggest Loser" contest to start the year, Arlington Kabob is a strategic goldmine. Under normal circumstances, I would happily indulge in their fragrant basmati rice and that delicious, fresh-baked tandoori naan. However, staying disciplined requires a different approach, and the team here makes it effortless. The High-Protein Order Hack: I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter but requested a total carb-swap. I asked to replace the rice and naan entirely with a double portion of vegetables. I went with the chickpeas (channa) and the sautéed spinach. The result is a nutrient-dense, high-protein win. The chicken is lean and perfectly charred, the chickpeas provide steady energy and fiber, and the spinach adds great flavor and micronutrients. The 50% Strategy: Even without the bread, these portions are significant. I ate exactly 50% of this platter for lunch, which provided an estimated 38g of protein and 450 calories. It is the perfect meal for someone who wants to feel satisfied but stay strictly within their caloric and macro goals. Community Inspiration: I have to give credit to local Northern Virginia foodie Mya Yoon. Her social media posts documenting her own health journey and "smart eating" choices inspired me to start looking at local menus through a more intentional lens. Following the modifications she shares online has been a game-changer for my own progress. Service & Vibe: The staff here deserves a specific mention. Despite my request to skip the core staples of their menu (rice and bread), they were helpful and happy to modify the order to meet my goals. It is rare to find a spot that is both a neighborhood staple for comfort food and a reliable partner in a weight-loss journey. Everything was delicious as always. If you are looking to stay on track without sacrificing quality or flavor, this is the place to do it.

We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +a Combo Platter for 2 - this came with chicken kofta, beef kofta, and a choice of chicken, lamb, or beef kabob - we went for the beef; for the sides, we went for the potatoes and the lentil soup, and for the rice, we went Quabli style Out of all the meats, we thought the chicken kofta had the best flavor; both the beef kofta and the kabob were just 'okay'; the beef kofta had a more game-y flavor - not sure if they had mixed it up with lamb first; the beef kabob was overcooked and dried out, more on the chewy end, which was not enjoyable. The Quabli-style rice didn't really enhance anything - the carrots were way too soft, and there were hardly any currants, which was disappointing. Potatoes were forgettable, as they were bland; the lentil soup was piping hot, but could have had more lentils - it seemed like just broth with just a spoonful of lentils in it. The white sauce was more dill-heavy and ranch-like which didn't complement the kabobs and the kofta at all. There was complimentary tea for those who dine-in, which was nice, but the tea wasn't steeped well and was too watered down. Staff were friendly, and there's limited parking in the tight strip plaza lot. +chicken kofta +game-y beef kofta +dried-out/overcooked beef kabob +avoid the Quabli style rice +friendly staff +limited parking in lot available

So is the Vegetarian platter and tasting menu, aushak, quroti, and turnovers. You cant go wrong with saffron rice or the rice with carrots and raisins. Enough reviews already mention the four dips and soft bread, a cross between middle eastern bread and focaccia. Non alcoholic drinks are not an after thought, the sour cherry rose lemonade is liked by kids, adults, and seniors. Service is warm and welcoming, the Rumi quotes on the walls and turkish lamps add to the ambience, parking is easy and aplenty. A few tips: 1. Go for the lunch menu if you are feeding a large group. It is cheaper. Or consider making the trek to where it all started, Afghan Bistro in Springfield. 2. Ask for the daily selection of cakes. The pistachio and cardamom are the best, not too sweet, light, moist, and fragrant. Of course we devoured the food before taking pictures but a couple attached.

I thought my salmon wrap and the chickpea side was ok. Interesting flavors for sure. As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

Got a combo of chicken kabob and shami kabob along with a side of their borani banjan/eggplant dish. The eggplant was honestly one of my favorite things- it's a must get in my opinion. Homey dish with incredible flavors! Their naan is fresh and pairs well with it. The chicken was good, but I've had better honestly. The shami was a little disappointing as I expected more flavor and it was slightly dry, but good. Their rice was so tasty and I loved the sweetness coming from the carrots an raisins. Of course, the sheeryakh was great- quite a big portion for one person, but I loved the texture. It tastes very similar to the Indian/South Asian/Pakistani ice cream, "Kulfi." CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: Service needs improvement. The whole time I was there I had to keep looking for waiters to make eye contact with to ask for menu, water, paying, etc. It took about 10 min or more for me to have to call a busy waiter over just to look at the menu- no one came over on their own. Things just took time for a Saturday night- plus they were hosting an event on top of this. Needless to say, I've never had service like this, but the vibe and food made me be not as harsh.
