I had a lamb kabob sandwich or wrap, which was good. I had a side of fries, which were also good. As a drink I had some kind of Indian tea, which was good as well. The staff were nice and the service was fast and friendly. The only thing I suggest is adding a recycling bin and making the bathrooms look more interesting by adding some nice decor or a wall mural. Other than that, all else was good!

Very carb heavy, but lots of delicious variety of food that is worth it for your money. The staff works hard and are kind and friendly, offering us free samples of this chicken soup which was quite delicious. I've been living in the Ballston area for a while and can't believe it's my first time checking out this restaurant today. My friend and I were pretty satisfied with our orders and we'll be back soon. Listen, open your eyes and look around - there's a lot of fantastic restaurants to check out in the area other than the local fast-casuals and popular restaurant chains that are on Wilson Street. Our only tip? Call ahead so you don't have to wait 15-20 minutes for food at the restaurant. Seems like most people call ahead and grab their orders to-go. A-1 BONELESS CHICKEN BREAST KABOB - 13.85 There's quite a bit of chicken, which were were well-seasoned and delicious. It was a bit dry, but that's OK since it was white meat. Nothing extraordinary about this kabob, but it went well with the rice. This is definitely the "healthy" option. Still delicious, though, and I would recommend it if this is what you're looking for. A-5 BEEF KABOB - 14.99 This was my friend's order and I'm super thankful that he let me try a piece of beef. It was so incredibly tender and flavorful that we were both shocked. His words, "if someone told me this was food from a famous NYC restaurant, I'd believe it." This was the clear winner of the two kabobs we tried today. We would definitely recommend this if you eat red meat. All kabob orders come with a huge piece of bread (that's probably bigger than your face) that was delicious. The salad was a nice side that made me feel "healthier" when eating, lol. The bed of rice below the kabob were seasoned well and could be eaten by itself. Lots of garnish on top of the meat for taste and presentation. For the sides, we both got the chickpeas, which was saucy and delicious.

Food is very good and authentic. The staff are very friendly and made sure my meal came out well. The chicken and lamb were great. Chickpea soup was flavorful

Good food for the price! Not my favorite kabob place, but also not the most expensive kabob place I've gotten. The employees said it would be a 15 minute wait for two orders, but it was done sooner. The portion sizes are pretty good (again, not the biggest) but my family and I were full from our meals.

Moved across the street here recently so decided to try it out! The man behind the counter (we didn't catch his name) was really friendly and funny. The portions are pretty large and the different meats were all moist and seasoned perfectly. For sides we got the fried eggplant (absolutely amazing) and chicken curry (pretty good but probably wouldn't get again). The chicken soup he gave us on the side was amazing, would definitely get a bowl of that if I was sick. Will be back for the lunch specials!!

Came here on a Saturday at noon, and there were only two costumers. More people should definitely be coming here! Got the combo platter (~$14) with lamb and chicken, fried egg plant as a side, and it comes with rice, salad, and bread. It was actually a very good amount, and I split it with my boyfriend. Its pricey, but definitely would be two meals worth for me. If you have a big appetite you could finish it in one. The meat was good. I didnt really love it but it was pretty good with the sauce and everything. The owner/staff were very friendly, and they even offered a sample of their soup!

That is a lot of meat on that salad!

First time there but am super impressed with my dinner. So it was the triple crown salad. But I am stuffed. I do not usually feel stuffed after a salad. I got this one because it has feta cheese, chicken kebab and gyro meat in it. It also comes with a piece of Afghani bread. I'm watching carbs so I did not take home the bread but it looks pretty awesome coming out of the oven. The man at the counter was very friendly. 14 dollars and change, plus a small take out tip. There's inside dining, all the patrons were wearing masks. I'm not dining inside during this epidemic but some people may choose to. But I plan to go back and support the small business. Yum! Update: Made it second time. Very happy, nice people. I will keep going back.

It doesn't matter if you dine on the patio, in the main dining area or catch a vibe in the funkier basement, the energy adds a sparkle to every sharable home style dish. What did we enjoy? Well, we ordered (and inhaled) near everything with ease. The table favorites were the dal, lamb shank, and anything and everything served with bread! All three dumplings were a mixed bag, earning mixed reviews among the group, but I can confidently say that after trying all of their desserts...yes, I recommend ending your meal with a sweet treat (preferably with sharbat if you're a fan). And most importantly, if you choose to dine here, dine with friends because this food is best enjoyed family style, accompanied by deep belly laughs and genuine joy.

Our server essentially ignored us the entire evening, naturally, bc their policy is that 20% tip is automatically added to ALL parties. So, of course, no incentive for good service. We had to flag down various servers throughout the evening, as we were never checked on. Arrogant and condescending servers when we got their attention. Huge disappointment; food was good, but the service was probably some of the worst we've ever experienced. Like they were doing US a favor when they designed to notice us. The pumpkin dumplings and pan fried veggie filled dumplings were great as well. I thought my salmon wrap and the chickpea side was ok. Interesting flavors for sure. As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

Got a combo of chicken kabob and shami kabob along with a side of their borani banjan/eggplant dish. The eggplant was honestly one of my favorite things- it's a must get in my opinion. Homey dish with incredible flavors! Their naan is fresh and pairs well with it. The chicken was good, but I've had better honestly. The shami was a little disappointing as I expected more flavor and it was slightly dry, but good. Their rice was so tasty and I loved the sweetness coming from the carrots an raisins. Of course, the sheeryakh was great- quite a big portion for one person, but I loved the texture. It tastes very similar to the Indian/South Asian/Pakistani ice cream, "Kulfi." CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: Service needs improvement. The whole time I was there I had to keep looking for waiters to make eye contact with to ask for menu, water, paying, etc. It took about 10 min or more for me to have to call a busy waiter over just to look at the menu- no one came over on their own. Things just took time for a Saturday night- plus they were hosting an event on top of this. Needless to say, I've never had service like this, but the vibe and food made me be not as harsh. Despite the service, this place is a must try for authentic Afghan cuisine. Can't wait to try more of their menu (and the borani banjan again) in the future!

We were also a party of five but were only given one menu to share so not very convenient. I ordered the Chicken & Shami Kabob and it came with a choice of white or brown rice, one side, and naan. The meal looked nothing like the photo on the restaurant's website. The portion was overwhelmingly rice with very little meat. None of the garnishes shown in the picture were included on the rice. For $24 I expected a much better presentation and a more balanced portion. Oh and the meat was kind of dry. Parts of our order were missing, some dishes that came out were incorrect. The experience felt disorganized and the food didn't justify the price.
