I always walk by this place and have been meaning to give it a try. On Sunday, I came in with a friend. The restaurant itself is very organized and have a ton of tables. We were quickly and nicely greeted and sat within seconds of being there. Our server, took our drink orders and told us we could go to the buffet whenever we were ready, no menu or anything needed. They have a ton of delicious options like their vegetable samosas, soups, chicken, rice, fruits, desserts and more. I loaded food on my plate and loved every single bite. I was surprised that my total only came to around $26 with tip included for an all you can eat buffet. I would definitely go again!

Went for a Monday lunch buffet with my boyfriend because didn't feel like making anything at home. Service: A+, the waiters were amazing. Every time we got up off the table to get more food our old plate would magically disappear. And they were very attentive with refilling our water. Ambiance is nice, can be a place for a casual work lunch or a nice dinner with friends. Food was delicious and great value for $15 on the weekdays! I tried a bit of everything: Chicken biryani - flavorful with tender large chicken pieces. Really good! Dal makhani - classic and tasty made with black lentils. Palak paneer - yummy!! I could eat so much of this. Had plenty of paneer pieces that I took advantage of. Butter chicken - really good, slightly tangy. Had tender large chicken pieces. Chili paneer - this felt special! Was delicious and had to get seconds. Tandoori chicken - our favorite, was super flavorful and tender and smoky. Must be eaten with lemon squeezed on and with the raw onions between bites. Chaat - yummy with the mint and tamarind chutneys on top. Onion bhaji - classic Indian appetizer. Especially good with the mint and tamarind chutneys. Chicken curry - okay - not anything really special! Carrot halwa - so good!! Can't even tell it's made with carrots. Not too sweet and plenty of nuts in it. Rice pudding - also really good and not too sweet. This is def our new neighborhood spot for tasty lunches that fill us up all day!

I had heard about the lunch buffet at this place and I know I had to try it. It was less than $20 for ayce lunch on a weekend in a busy area so it might be one of the best deals around. We got there around the time they opened so it was a real easy time getting food from the buffet. All the meat dishes and naan were great. My favorite was their chicken sekuwa. Quality food and great price, a must go spot!

I've been meaning to dine at Urban Tandoor for a while and I'm glad I finally was able to. I ate from the all-you-can eat buffet and it was simply amazing and so affordable. I loved the variety and the freshness. All the dishes were served in small batch chafing trays, which means they're not letting huge quantities of food sit around. They had common Indian dishes like daal makani, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken but they also had chili chicken wings and chole with fry bread. Even the gulab jamun tasted fresh. The service was great and the dining area was spacious and nicely decorated with beautiful pencil drawings on the walls. The buffet is probably one the best bang for your buck deals in the DMV, especially when it comes to flavor and variety. I can't wait to dine here again soon.

Lunch buffet $16 on weekdays and $18 on weekends. What a great deal. We went on a weekday for lunch and it got crowded close to 12- we went at 11:30 when they opened. All the food is fresh and hot and flavorful and the mango lassi is just the right amount of sweetness. The vegetable pakora is SO good. Crispy and flavorful. The tandoori chicken has a slight kick, but the rest of the food is quite mild but still packed with flavor. The buffet didn't have butter chicken but the tikka masala was good- the lamb vindaloo was the better of the two. Full bar and great service all around with indoor and outdoor seating. We will definitely be back

The weekday lunch all you can eat for about $15-20 is one of the highest return on investment offers that I know of in the DMV area. I got several different curries, including palak paneer and butter chicken, as well as naan and samosas at the buffet and several bowls of rice pudding. The service was great and I recommend this place if you want to eat a lot.

I typically don't prefer Indian food, not because it's bad, but because I don't like spicy food. However, my friends convinced me to give it a try, and it was delicious! I asked them to make it not spicy, and the customer service was outstanding. They followed each instruction perfectly, ensuring that my dish was exactly how I wanted it. Since we are quite picky, we gave a lot of instructions, but they did an excellent job accommodating our requests. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance of the restaurant was also lovely, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the meal, and I would definitely consider going back again.

All you can eat lunch is THE BEST! Under $20 on weekdays and weekends. So delicious, you will have to take a nap. I've done the lunch around 10x now and they don't have the same stuff every time, so it is nice that they switch it up. There are typically a few chicken options, a few veggie, rice, appetizers and desserts.

Urban Tandoor has risen in my esteem. Now they are more responsive. Order on apps (UberEat) is ready faster than before. No more long wait and begging. That's a plus. Food was delicious and well packaged. I recommend their -- seafood mixed tandoor grill mixed tandoor grill garlic naan and samosa!

Went here for their lunch buffet, and they didn't disappoint! The inside was very nice, clean, and welcoming. Got there just as they opened, food was fresh, tasty, the staff were very attentive and helpful. They cleared plates pretty quickly and made sure our drinks were always full. Would absolutely come back the next time I'm in Arlington.

Went for the lunch buffet and given that it is so hard to find 1) a place that does lunch buffets and 2) has decent food we walked out very happy. The staff was very nice and attentive. The pictures do not do justice as the phone didn't eat first. I will definitely be returning for the buffet.

The food was expensive and lacked flavor. Mostly just tasted bitter. The momos were decent, definitely the best thing we tried.

My go-to for Indian takeout. Pleasantly spicy, not cheap but worth the cost. Make sure you don't skip the moms!

We ordered - Impossible meat momos 3/5 - they were okay...not the best and not the greatest. The flavor was hiding and the momo did not stay in tact at all. The sauce that they served alongside did not enhance the momo at all. Veggie momo 3/5 - again, they were okay. In fact, I think these were worst than the impossible meat momos. Didn't seem like there was any flavor and just veggies mushed together with salt and pepper. Raita 3/5 - way too liquidy for my liking. I thought they would at least provide rice, but no. So it was just basically liquid yogurt with a couple of strips of cucumbers and carrots. Paneer chili 0/5 - the container literally said 'paneer chili' and after 2/3 bites, I asked my friend if this was actually paneer because it was kind of chewy? Of course it wasn't and it was chicken!! I'm vegetarian so I was so disappointed that they put the wrong item in our order, especially since the container explicitly said paneer. This morning I woke up with a terrible stomachache. The food definitely did not sit right with me. I'm definitely going to skip this place and try Moh Moh Licious next time.

Very cute and quiet! The food was tasty and the drink was pretty good. Service was good and quick.read more

The roti was delicious, the duck fried rice was my favorite dish of the night, and the variety of momo with everyone having their own personal favorites (yak, buffalo, wild boar, and lamb) made for an intriguing night. Plenty of other dishes I want to come back and try

Our friends who dined with us tonight traveled to Nepal three times - and tonights meal was spectacular. The chef sent out a course of sel roti with mooli ko achar and trust me -- the deep fried sel roti with the tanginess of the radish pickle in mustard sauce was a great start. Our dinner order was enough for 4 - with a few boxes of leftovers for tomorrow. First course/appetizers we had the crispy kale and the momo (chickened and vegetarian- both were equally delicious). For our main courses, we had the lamb chops( 3 generous and succulent chops) , the tandoori combination ( both lamb and chicken) along with the Aloo cauliflower/potatoes in curry. We also had an order of garlic naan and regular naan. Two of us had a spectacular cocktail that was rimmed with cayenne! The cocktail was great, but we were both caught a little off guard by the heat of the cayenne. For dessert we had the Rasmali - a cheese based dessert that was a lovely ending . Service was attentive , the music lively but set at a perfect volume for ambiance and conversation and timing between courses perfect. We were never hurried or left without attention. They have this perfectly orchestrated. Our Bethesda friends? They'll drive to Arlandria again thats for certain! Great meal, authentic food, fantastic service and a good value.

If they are serving scallops, order it! Whatever main dish you order, you have to order one of their house made chutneys. We really enjoyed the mango chutney. Also, don't forget the naan! We like plain or garlic. They are about a 5-7 min walk from the Capital One Arena. So, it is best to make reservations just in case you are trying to dine here when there is an event at Capital One. Was pleased to see that the restaurant is still around (and super busy). No reservations, but we were lucky enough that there were enough seats at the bar, otherwise I don't think we would've been able to eat here at all. So hard to choose from a menu where everything sounded so good. We got the palak chaat, bhindi ka lonj, gobhi mattar, mint paratha, vegetable pulao, gujarati lasagne, and chili and olive oil naan. Standouts were the palak chaat and mint paratha. The palak chaat was the most well-balanced dish that satisfied every part of the flavor wheel: crispy spinach fritters, some tang from the yogurt and tamarind, sweetness from the date, and a lovely savoriness. The mint paratha was wonderfully flaky and herbaceous. The other dishes were good, but not particularly exciting. For desserts, we had the mango rasmalai and gulab jamun. Generally love ordering gulab jamun whenever I can, and it really hit the spot. The cardamom ice cream was the perfect pairing for it. I can kind of see where they were going with the mango rasmalai and the different textures/presenations of mango, but personally did not find it to be that memorable. Overall, not as mind-blowing as I remember but still enjoyed the meal. Definitely recommend making reservations if you want a table.

The butter chicken was AMAZING -- super flavorful, rich, and honestly a really generous portion. It was easily enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day, which made the deal even better. During happy hour they also have $3, $8, and $10 bites, and $10 margaritas, which is such a great value. I tried one of the $3 bites and it was so flavorful and well done. Honestly sooooo good! It was the vegetable Samosa and it's soooo good! The whole experience was great and the food had so much flavor. This was my first time coming here, but it definitely won't be my last. A true gem on 14th street!…read more My dining experience here was nothing short of magical. There is something special about a restaurant whose decor tells a story of culture and beauty. This place brings South Asian culture to DC and the evidence of that is the beautiful black and white portrait collections with DC sprinkled throughout it. See if you can spot it in the image I posted! I loved it Next, their hospitality was excellent!!!!!! From the time that you walked through the doors, you're immediately greeted. Then, as soon as you sit at the table, the wait staff is attentive to your needs and uses such care to keep your water glass refilled and your table cleared between meals. Thank you! Drinks: we were there for the happy hour so we both wanted to try something special. I ordered the Chai espresso martini and my boyfriend ordered the Pili margarita. The Chai espresso martini was GOLDEN! If this drink were to go up for cocktail of the year, it would come out on top. Might I say that chai is something that you can mess up and I've had encounters where it was watered down, not the case here. I tasted the fresh and real chai and the richly brewed espresso. This drink wasn't just a martini, it warranted deep conversation with each sip. My boyfriend raved about his Pili margarita and talked about how excellent it was to taste fresh mangoes, a burst of citrus, and spiciness. A beautiful culinary combination Safe to say that both drinks were our favs!!! I also had a glass of their white wine and it was dry and refreshing. Well done! Food: we ordered several dishes from the happy hour menu. Please note that they aren't shy of providing excellent portions. Manchurian wings: a star dish! The fry on the wings were perfect but the seasoning puts this dish over the top. Highly recommended! Vegetable samosa: flaky dough with the most delectable sautéed vegetables. You'd definitely want to try a few of these! Gobi manchurian: a beautiful dish for non-meat eaters and meat eaters. Similarly to the wings, these cauliflowers were perfectly fried and seasoned to perfection. Actually, at one point, I thought that I was eating a meat dish because it was so tender and juicy inside. Please don't miss ordering these! Spicy chicken tikka: the dish that makes you ask "what spices are in this? They're EXCELLENT!" Such a juicy and tender cut with the perfect blend of flavors. Order, order, order! I think it's safe to say that we enjoyed ALL of our selections and appreciated the modern twist on Indian food classics. They didn't stray too far from the beauty of these dishes but added just enough personality to win you over. Lastly, we ordered dessert! We originally went with their bread pudding which came with cardamom ice cream but the amazing host, Dave, surprised us with their special Gulab jamun. The cardamom ice cream was AHHH-MAY-ZIN (spelled how I need you to say it!) it was amazing! But let's get into this bread pudding. I have so many questions: who is the pastry chef? How did they master such perfect bread pudding? Also, why is this dessert SO GOOD?! Best bread pudding and ice cream EVER! And I don't say that often about much bread puddings. The Gulab jamun was also my favorite because it wasn't sweet as the others and I felt so satisfied taking bites of this with the beautiful ice cream they placed on top. It's a no brainer that I'm coming back soon and that I'm going to try their dinner menu next. Please make the reservations and go support this spot, you won't regret it!

We came here late afternoon on a weekday for an early dinner. It was very quiet and relaxing at that time, with pleasant background music and excellent service. We went the "carnivore route" wity yak momos, lamb saag, and skewers of wild boar cubes. We said the food could come out in any order, and the momos actually came out last, because they were prepared to order. The sauce accompanying them was different than the momo sauces I've had at other Nepalese restaurants, but it still enhanced the flavor of them. The lamb saag was intensely green, reflecting a very high amount of fresh spinach. The boar was both crisp and juicy. We were also given some kind of complimentary rings as an alternative to naan. It was pretty difficult to eat all of this slowly, it was so flavorful. The restaurant is a few blocks away from the nearest Metro station, and approaching it from the south, you won't necessarily see it until you get close, because the front of the building is recessed from the street.

Crispy outside, sticky and soft and sweet inside. It was served with some Mula Achar (pickled radishes), whcih was too salty for me. 2. A little bit gamy which was what I look for. It was served with brown and red sauces; both sauces were spicy, while the red was also slightly sweet. 4. Goat Bhutan: Basically fried goat intestine, goat stomach and goat liver, served with raw tomatoes, onions and puffed rice. Mostly crispy, like it was shallow-fried. The organs were delicious but too oily for me. 5. Brussels sprouts: It was said to be pan-fried but looked like roasted. Savory and sweet. Service was good and quick.
