COMBO OVER RICE - 11.99 This comes with half lamb/half chicken, rice, choice of veggies, and sauce. I got it with lettuce and tomatoes and a light amount of sauce. The chicken was really dry and bland, which was disappointing. It helped eating it with the vegetables and sauce. I enjoyed the lamb as it was well-seasoned. The portion size was huge, and I was unable to finish the whole platter even after swimming. We also shared a plate of large fries, which were freshly heated. Wow wow wow... I've been looking for a spot like this for so long... the name alone draws you in! The service is on point and about the customer. The restaurant is clean and love the neon light that reads "All it takes is One taste"! This is so true due to the fact eating there mixed combo of chicken and lamb. I had high hopes for this place, and the food was generally good, but there were a couple serious missteps. I ordered their combo chicken and lamb meal over rice. First, I should say that I'm not middle eastern so I'm no expert, but I'm from NYC, arguably the birthplace of this style of street-cart halal cuisine and I survived on halal cart lamb over rice throughout college. Regarding the positives: the portion size was generous, the service was fine, the sauces were balanced, and I appreciated the ability to customize the veggies and dip combinations, including the addition of toum or hummus. Onto the negatives: the proteins are precooked and served from chaffing trays which resulted in lukewarm and dry chicken or lamb. Additionally, serving plain basmati rice versus the traditional turmeric seasoned yellow rice is huge misstep. Overall, the food here is decent and reasonably priced. I may give them another try when they've just cooked the protein or I'll try something else on their menu. read more

Excellent food and customer service! It's the first visit and definitely not the last. Their food it's fresh and with a lot of flavor! We came as a large group and we all tried different dishes. The mixed grill (delicious), combo rice bowl (amazing), hummus (creamy and authentic), chicken (soft and flavorful) and stuffed grape leaves (tasty). Make sure you try both of their sauces, so so so good! Didn't get a chance to take a picture as we were eating as soon as the food touched the table :). For my first order-- I placed an order through GrubHub and the reviews on the delivery sites recommended the combo over rice. And it was absolutely delicious, It's chunks of meat over basmati rice. when ordering for delivery you get to choose whether you want vegetables, peppers,salad greens, sauces. The portion is very big and could be split between two people or one person with leftovers. The vegetable and salad greens that I ordered were very fresh. I have no idea what was in the sauces but I would definitely order it again with both the red and the white sauce, LOL. After the GrubHub order, I drove over several times to get MORE. I order the Lamb wrap (like a gyro) and several more meats over rice--You point to the toppings you want (veggies, sauces) and I ask for a dollop of hummus (.99 cents) which is so fresh! It's very fresh meat and rice and vegetables, and if that sounds good to you then definitely check this place out! Tried Tasty Chicken Box for the first time. Met the owner and his son who were very nice. I got chicken and lamb over rice. They have a lot of great options to go with it as well like hummus, garlic sauce, feta cheese, onions tomato's, lettuce etc. Between the meat, the lamb was the star. New shop, has been getting some positive chatter. Stopped by on a saturday evening, it was pretty quiet. I had been hearing about warm customer service but I did not experience that part. It was more of a move-it-along vibe when I was there. Be aware now, although you will see the word "gyro" there, this is not at all a greek-style shop. When I asked about things like "gyro" or Tzatziki" all I got was a blank look. Its a "lamb sandwich" he says. There is no feta cheese. This is just a regular arab-style halal shop, so don't be expecting something else. The setup is a chipotle-type deal where the ingredients are all pre-made. The guy throws it together and the other guy takes it back and grills it up. Seems clean and fresh. This is pretty much a take-out shop only. There are some tables down a passageway towards the back, but it was 90 degrees back there and empty. You specify what ingredients you want and they make it up the way you like it. I got the lamb sandwich ($11). The lamb was the usual pre-processed cubes, good size, on the rubbery side but not bad tasting. Simple menu but good. Overall not a bad value for the price. They are the only shop in the area open this late (2:00 AM on fri-sat) so this can be a good option for night owls. Will be back to try other menu items. read more

Upon pulling up, the restaurant is very tiny and I could see how it could be missed from the main road, but this place is truly a hidden gem! I walked in to a very friendly hello and a warm welcoming from the staff and chef, I explained how it was my first time there. They were very patient and walked me through how to order. I asked what was popular and they were very eager to point me in the right direction of what sauce combinations were best! The portion size was great and the food looked and tasted fresh as ever! I can't speak positively enough about this new addition to the neighborhood. My order was ready ahead of time. The man who greeted me was incredibly friendly and welcoming to the point that when he said "see you next time" I said he would, without even having tried the food! I told him I placed a second order for a soda, and he said he wished he had known, he would've just given it to me. Brought my food home, and the portion is generous for the price and area.
