About a 2-2.5: We were really excited to check out Arlington Kabob, as this place has been around for a while, and it seems to be a local favorite. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +a Combo Platter for 2 - this came with chicken kofta, beef kofta, and a choice of chicken, lamb, or beef kabob - we went for the beef; for the sides, we went for the potatoes and the lentil soup, and for the rice, we went Quabli style Out of all the meats, we thought the chicken kofta had the best flavor; both the beef kofta and the kabob were just 'okay'; the beef kofta had a more game-y flavor - not sure if they had mixed it up with lamb first; the beef kabob was overcooked and dried out, more on the chewy end, which was not enjoyable. The Quabli-style rice didn't really enhance anything - the carrots were way too soft, and there were hardly any currants, which was disappointing. Potatoes were forgettable, as they were bland; the lentil soup was piping hot, but could have had more lentils - it seemed like just broth with just a spoonful of lentils in it. The white sauce was more dill-heavy and ranch-like which didn't complement the kabobs and the kofta at all. There was complimentary tea for those who dine-in, which was nice, but the tea wasn't steeped well and was too watered down. Arlington Kabob is legendary but it's taken me a while to try it out. I'm used to Persian flavors but heard so many good things about Arlington Kabob. We ordered a variety of dishes and everyone was pleased. Gyro was seasoned well and lasted me two days (saved some for lunch the next day). Naan/bread was soft and fluffy, even for a pick up order (they can deflate a bit but these kept their structure/flavor). Side order of potatoes were like a stew, very flavorful and hearty. I went here for the first time with my son. I got the chicken kabob platter and my son got the gyro. Both were excellent. The chicken was marinated and seasoned very nicely and stayed moist after cooking. My son said the gyro was chock full of meat and served in their homemade bread. I would go back for sure. I have been coming here for years and it is absolutely the best kofta / kafta I've ever had. I have went to every high rated kebab shop up and down the east coast and nothing compares to Arlington Kabob. The bread they make is also incredible and not enough can be said for their dipping sauces, which are mouth watering. The rice and veggies on the side are always exceptional as well. I came here for take-out, and they seemed to be running quite the operation! There were a ton of cooks in the back running around and pounding out massive amounts of to-go orders. I opted for a chicken schwarma wrap. It took about 10 minutes to be prepared, but it was very affordable and huge! I finished it, but I was pretty stuffed afterwards. We tend to order the Gyro platter. and the chicken kebabs every once in a while they have an eggplant dish, which is really great, but they don't have it very often. I'm glad to see this place. Easily the best or second Best kabob shop in the DC area, Arlington kabob is delicious. I got off early from work one day and decided to go for a quick bite at Arlington kabob for lunch. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich which came wrapped in made to order naan alongside a white and a green chutney sauce. The sauce paired excellently with the meat and bread and the sandwich was soon gone. I will be back soon! My only gripe is that they don't have fries. While I think the kabob is better at Arlington Kabob vs. Courthouse kabob, I think the side options are better at Courthouse. read more

I happened upon this small mom and pop ethic restaurant while on my way t the bank nearby. Since kabob was in the name, I figured that they may sell gyros as well. I came on in and discovered that they have a pretty good selection of both kabobs and gyros. The menu board listed both the sandwiches and platter options, and the prices that were displayed seemed reasonable. It had been a decent amount of time since I've had a gyros, and tonight was the night that Iot back on track with my Greek gyro fix. When zi arrived there wasn't anyone seated inside the dining area, so I took the table right next to the window. There were plenty of folks coming in for their phone orders though. Four words: I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! First stopped by there during pandemic as a way to support local restaurants and thought I would try one I never had been to. I ordered the chicken kabob with quabli and the meals usually come with a choice of two sides and rice (always amply provided). I though the meal was absolutely delicious and filling and very affordable. It's now become my go-to dish and I crave it. The place has a small area for about 4-6 tables to sit and eat, and it's a very informal atmosphere. But this place is more about the food than the atmosphere, so most of the time I got take out. Once I arrived late at night after a hard day at work, minute before closing and the owner very graciously prepared a meal for me. This is why I keep going back again.
