As recommended, we got the shawarma on shrak - one chicken, one beef - both with all the trimmings: lettuce, onions covered in sumac, pickle, garlic spread, hummus...there were probably other things, too, but I've forgotten. You can also make your shawarma spicy with a red hot pepper relish. When they are preparing your shawarma you get to pick which items you want (kind of like Chipotle- but MUCH better). Both were absolutely delicious. The meat is delicately spiced and not overcooked- moist and flavorful. We got the combo which comes with fries and a soda. Fries are nothing special so you can skip them because the important thing to know is that these shawarma are HUGE! I could barely eat half of mine. It's a very good value for the price. We were going to try one of their platters and get the mixed grill which comes with rice, but they let us know that takes 15 minutes and we didn't have time to wait. Next time! I had this place bookmarked for a while now. I did not realize how small it was in terms of seating and parking. I got the beef shawarma on shrak and it was delicious, and it was such a huge and hefty portion that I could only manage half for dinner. The rest for a meal the following day. It was flavorful and I was able to select what I wanted as my toppings. Haifa Grill has one of my Top 3 chicken Shawarmas. It is massive. Like I am 6'1" and this Shawarma is half my size(sarcasm) but jokes aside at first glance it gives "oh this is great value for my money" But it is also great in taste. The chicken is seasoned well. The toum is hitting all the spots. ALL OF THEM! The pickles and veggies are crisp. The shrak is toasted to crisp and the biggest thing is that the shwarama doesn't feel dry at all. Delicious hidden gem for shawarmas! I am used to getting the shawarmas out in DC so I am happy to find there has been this spot locally that is just as good. I got the chicken shawarma on shrak combo. The shawarma itself is HUGE and cut in half. I could not finish and had the second half for lunch the next day and it was still just as good. Ingredients are fresh and you are able to customize the ingredients you want in your shawarma. Only thing I have to say is the meats themselves lack some flavor. I won't lie, I'm incredibly disappointed with this place. Haifa Grill has been on my hit list for a while given its popularity and recommendations for good Shawarma. Quick service and a homey, humble interior. But, the taste of their food was not what I expected. I've had lots of shawarma in my life and in general love lots of flavor and spice. Their Chicken Shawarma was VERY bland and salty. I was surprised how bland and dry the chicken was. The sauces and veggies made it more palatable, but this was not it. Came by after leaving DC and tried their falafel pita and tabouleh as well as a chicken shawarma on pita w garlic sauce to go. We grabbed drinks on the way out. Both wraps were amazing flavor wise, and the tabouleh was fresh. After you order at the register you are then called by number to customize your order toppings at the counter. I wanted to note though that while in theory that way of ordering works^.. it seemed to really strain the employees serving food given how busy it was this evening (and prob every weekend). The person in front of us was super rude to the man serving toppings/making wraps.. And while he handled it really well, that maybe would not happen if you were only able to specify what could be on the sandwich at the register itself. A lot of kabob/halal spots give you the sandwich options with all toppings included, and if you want otherwise you have to then say what not to add- which may work better here given how amazingly packed they were for a Sunday. read more

Tried Haifa Grill a few times now. The first time around, I tried their sandwich aka shrak. It was massive and worth the price point. The second time around, I just got a bowl to go. The service was very unfriendly and the ingredients did not seem fresh. The chicken shawarma is cut from the rotating grill per order, but a lot of the sides are just sitting there for long periods of time. Their hummus and garlic sauce are probably the top two toppings. They give you a huge portion and pack your sandwich or bowl. They also sell unique drinks that you do not see often. There is a second level where you can eat if you choose to. They also had outdoor seating. They have a small parking lot in front and the spots are very tight. It is located near a busy intersection and getting in and out could be a challenge. read more

Rounded up to 4 stars, due to portion sizes was large. It's about $13-14 for the chicken schwarma (cut into 2 pieces) that they are famous for on shrak bread. They do fill up the chicken schwarma with fresh chicken, and your choice of toppings: we got the garlic sauce (white), hummus, the pickles, lettuce, and tomato. It is a small space inside with only a few tables, and when we came on a Friday night more people walked in for take-out or stood around until a table was ready. We were able to find a table before that small rush and enjoy our food inside. There's not really an ambiance inside; Haifa Grill is definitely a hole-in-the wall you just go for a quick bite / takeout. The food took about 10-15 minutes to be prepared; we added fries and a drink to make it a combo for $3-4 dollars more. Total was about $18 and I tipped a few cash dollars in their jar up front. Overall, I haven't had much schwarma in the area but it was good for the portion size. The two of us split the one schwarma (cut into 2 pieces already) and the fries and were pretty full. It was a little on the dry side, so I would make sure to ask for more sauce next time. They don't have any signs saying what the toppings or sauces are, so it was a guessing game. The person preparing the food didn't communicate clearly with us on what things were, so that's one thing they could improve on. This place is straight gas. I've never had a shrak before but it was like a thin blanket that wrapped all the food up securely, way better than a pita sandwich which I feel like never holds the food together. The pickles added the perfect tanginess to pull all the flavors together. Both the beef and chicken were very tender and moist, you can't go wrong with either one. I do recommend the shrak over the platter though. Their pita bread formed a perfect pocket and none of it was sticking together. Driving here put me in a bad mood haha The awkward turns to get into the parking lot and then finding out the parking lot is very small and incomplete... whew, I had to park in the lot next door. It's just ok. I was craving Middle Eastern food and I'm always on the search for hole-in-the-wall places that are unpretentious and so this place caught my eye. I ordered a plate of hummus with shawarma chicken and an ayran. The portion size was good for me since I tend to have a hearty appetite. You get to choose 3 toppings (Chipotle style) aside from the meat and hummus. The hummus was ok...no chickpeas, olive oil or spices and the chicken was super bland and dry. The pita tasted store bought and dry. If you're used to real middle eastern flavors this falls short. On a positive note, this is great value, the ordering process easy, nice sitting area outside, and happy they had ayran. First of all, the service here was absolutely amazing. I ordered the beef shawarma rice platter thinking that it came with hummus and pita, I was not paying attention cause it came with neither. I asked the worker at the front register after I paid and she said it only came in the beef shawarma hummus platter, but ended up just giving me some hummus on the side of my platter and also gave me one pita, which was so nice! Some of the best Palestinian food in the DMV! I heard about it from a friend but I also saw that it went viral on Tiktok and decided to try it. The meat is savory, ingredients are fresh, and the portions are so big. Half the time I have to save half for later, which is never a problem. They have a spacious upstairs seating venue that can seat a lot of people but is almost always empty. They always have an amazing selection of middle eastern beverages as well.
