My first time was last night and my friend had to act as the designated spotter to find it. Talk about up in the cut.. Omg! I drove past it three times before she said.. "there it is, next to the Ax Throwing place".. Lol! Finally, we entered and was thoroughly impressed. We started in the huge non-smoking side to partake in a little Happy Hour food and drinks that last until 9pm Mon-Fri.. Can't beat that. It has a large bar, table seating along with booth seating if that's your desired choice. It had a setup for the guest band, dance floor and a DJ. Hookah is also allowed on this side so I guess it's not TOTALLY non-smoking.. Lol. After our bellies were full, we stepped into the cigar lounge and I thought I was in Atlanta, where all the lounges have amazing ventilation systems. No smoke smell AT ALL! It has two giant tv's as we enjoyed watching the US Open. It has a nice sized bar and several tables for large crowds. The humidor is modest, however, you can bring your own stogies and there's no cut fee attached.. Dope! Drinks prices are excellent for such an establishment. Less than $20 for a generous Basil Hayden's pour had me giddy!! Service was spot on and I had to force myself to leave or I would have definitely been tipsy! If you love a good stogie every now and then and your girl won't go with you because of the smell, take her here, she won't be complaining and you'll both have a great time!!!

The owners are friends of our uncles so one cousin suggested we continue our after hours celebration here. My husband and I are noooooo fans of cigars but this place was cool and we decided to just go with the flow... Hemen Lounge is very grown & sexy...One part cigar lounge and the other side is a huge bar and had plenty space, seating around the dance floor and a stage where a band was playing. I even bumped into a cousin walking through to find the restroom. They served food. We didn't order food from here but we saw plenty ordering things ranging from tibs to wings... The ventilation system was AMAZING!! My hair didn't wreak of smoke lol I would definitely come back here. Happy Yelping!

Our server wasn't too knowledgeable of the menu..at least know what the diko special is. She did check in enough but never offered water. The manager was just sitting chilling and never checked in on any tables The drinks were very mid and tasted artificial, which I found odd for a strawberry margarita and blue motorcycle. Unfortunately I had to ask for the blue motorcycles to be remade. it looked like a blue Powerade and tasted only like blue curaçao. My sisters boyfriend wasn't thrilled with his old fashioned. He shared his mozzarella sticks and veggie rolls were fine, nothing to rave about. The hookah flavor was what it should have been. They did come check on the coal without prompting. Now the check was confusing. There was 2 different taxes and when we asked the server she was also unaware. She returned reporting 2 different taxes for the liquor and hookah. The math still didn't add up and they also add an automatic gratuity of 20% which is a bit much

It was like a bait and switch. The hookah was good. We tried skittles and it actually tasted like skittles. The food was ok but still off. The chicken kabob was more like chicken medallions and the lamb wrap was small. I was disappointed the food was served on chipped plates and utensils were plastic. I could just think of the micro plastics getting stirred in the hot tea I saw across the room. It you are looking for a relaxed hookah spot to get some work done, this may be your spot.

As Nicole mentioned, there used to be a lot of drugs dealt outside and a lot of unsavory characters around this place. I came here to chill and have a hookah with no drinks. There was a random guy (who might be homeless) sitting next to me who ordered three drinks, and then offered me one of the drinks. I accepted the drink, laughingly, because he clearly offered it to me being drunk. However, at the end of the night, I was the charged for ALL THREE of the drinks that the guy bought. When I told the bartender that I did not buy ANY of the drinks, she told me that I did when I absolutely did not. The only thing I talked to her about was my hookah and to refill the coals on it. Paying for the drinks isn't a problem, but for me to be unnecessarily charged for something I did not purchase is not ok and disgusting for a business to do. I can't get with that kind of shady business from this establishment. To the bartender, do better and represent the damn business with integrity. They have outdoor covered seating on a patio area and two people tables against the building. (There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke and a few men sitting on the patio; not sure if they were smoking but there were ashtrays one the outside two person tables). Food was ready and the employee was very nice and informed me the restaurant name changed since they were now serving hard liquor; so that's awesome for the future after the pandemic! The area appeared very clean and pretty spacious. The food smelled so good in the car ride home! We got the awaze beef and lamb tibs and both were good but the beef really hit the craving!! The meal came with a small salad and some sauce (not spicy) and the best part was the food being served on top of the injera so it didn't leave a giant sauce mess in the plastic bag or my car! Yay!! I have always gone to Enat a couple miles down the road the past few years, but it was always unpredictable how it would be. Sometimes the food and service was fantastic, other times it was Ok, and last month it was awful...so last night when we were craving Ethiopian food, we decided to try Monarch. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was amazing! The two of us ordered the vegetarian combo and I don't remember what meat/tibs because we asked the server which one she recommended and went with that. The food was definitely better than a couple other Ethiopian places I have been to in the area and the portion was generous! I almost thought we accidentally ordered a double portion of meat because it was a much bigger portion than I received from other places. I had leftovers for later that night and again today. The food was a little bit longer of a wait than I expected, but to me that just means they are making it from scratch and that it is fresh. The bill came to around $30 before tip which is quite a deal for that much food of great quality. The service was also very good with our server being friendly and attentive. Not only that, two other workers there...maybe the owner or chef (I'm not sure) dropped by to check on how we were and how the food was. If they keep this up, watch out Enat and other Ethiopian places in the area. You have some competition from Monarch!

We usually sit at the bar and food and service is consistently good. They no longer have daily specials but the Trifecta options that include a soup/salad and soft drink are a great value. My companion had the burger with a side Caesar that he shared with me. It was a good start, a basic Caesar with chopped lettuce and Parmesan and croutons. He had a few issues with the burger with the meat sitting on top of the lettuce, pickles and onion rather than the reverse but he dealt with it. And we both enjoyed the seasoned fries. I followed up with the dry rub bone-in wings. They were meaty and served up hot and fresh. The wings are a favorite and always good. The salt and pepper grinders are a noticeable and welcome detail, not common in any restaurant. The TVs always have a variety of games so there's something for everyone. There was even Scooby Doo on one of the screens for those fans. This is one of our go-to spots for the food, quality, service and reasonable prices. We frequented the location on Duke Street until it closed and are happy this location is nearby so we can continue to visit on a regular basis.
