My wife got the black eyed peas jambalaya and two of us got catfish platters, one fried and one blackened. My wife didn't eat a lot of her meal because she said it was too spicy, but she's a spice wimp so I'm not holding that against the restaurant especially since I never tried it. My daughter's blackened catfish was very salty. Our fries were very salty but good. My catfish, fried, was excellent. I would have liked to give a 3.5 but couldn't and my fish was so good I just couldn't give a 3. I'd eat here again but only fried catfish for me. I could see myself eating here at least once a month. Bonus: after dinner take a walk along the waterfront.

There is plenty of parking. I'm not sure why it's called "at the river" bc I didn't see a river. There is inside and an outside enclosed area for seating when you enter from the parking lot. It is decorated like a casual bar and grill. My server was in training but friendly and worked alongside his trainer head server. For beverages, I ordered the oyster shooter and that Bloody Mary did not disappoint. I also had a Black Raspberry Margarita. This seems to be a thing in Augusta for Margaritas as well as this was the 2nd restaurant I went to and had this. The other place was better though. But let's talk about the food! The catfish was super tasty. They gave me fries although I didn't order them, and of course I still ate them. I had a side of baked potato salad. I should've asked why they're baked, but that was just okay. I had the TASTE OF BEAMIES- chicken & shrimp gumbo, black eyed pea jambalaya, shrimp and grits, my fav's in order were the chicken and shrimp gumbo, the shrimp and grits, then the black eyed pea jambalaya. I also ordered the 1/2 dozen Rockefeller oysters and they were amazing. The hush puppies that came with them were just okay. Overall, I enjoyed this meal.

Server was lovely and everything arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. Food was a 3. No more. The shrimp and grits were really a big miss. I read where it said casserole and I was fully expecting a new (for me) twist on shrimp and grits - but it was not good. Dry baked grits with maybe three shrimp total and a few tiny piece of crab. No sauce, no cheese on top - nothing. Was very very odd indeed - more like cornbread or spoon bread with zero flavor. My husband ordered a steak and it was good, so there was some redemption there. I will say, one major restaurant pet peeve for me is when the first thing you smell when you open the door is air freshener. The bathrooms are right by the door and they have a fake cherry air freshener smell pumping out from them. So that's what you get hit with when you walk in. I don't know the solution to this type of layout, but strong air freshener isn't it.

Rae's Coastal Cafe is my usual first stop restaurant for some scrumptious vittles south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Our Jerk chicken wings were a great start for our first dinner on this adventure. Our (us three golfers) salads were good. Our crab cakes were very good! Our chocolate pudding pie was great. My three fingers of Makers Mark was excellent. We sat outside by their lake where the peace and quiet were throughly enjoyed. Our waitress was friendly and helpful choosing the combinations that made this dinner delightful.

It had good flavor, but I prefer hot soup. The seafood platter comes with fries, slaw, and hushpuppies. I asked for asparagus instead of the fries. They added $2 for the exchange and didn't give me the slaw. The asparagus was warm but the fish and oysters were cold. Service and food are normally good here. I would suggest not doing a party of over 6. The kitchen can't seem to handle it. I was not the only person in the group that had problems with their food. I expect better when you are paying average $50 a person for the experience. Fortunately we were in the party room upstairs. It was very loud in the restaurant and we were able to close the doors so we could talk to each other.

My husband and father-in-law met us there before we headed downstairs for dinner, and it turned out to be a great spot to relax and unwind. The draft beer was ice cold, and the air conditioning was a welcome break from the Georgia heat. The atmosphere at Drift is laid-back and inviting, with a comfortable mix of conversation and ambient background noise. The Savannah River views are beautiful, and the space features a clean, boho-inspired design that feels both stylish and welcoming. My mother-in-law and I really enjoyed spending time there and even thought it would make a great location for photos. If you're looking for a scenic Savannah riverfront bar with great drinks, a relaxed vibe, and stunning views, service with a smile, Drift Savannah is definitely worth checking out.

We never felt squished or overcrowded while seated at our table and the ac was just right after coming in from the heat. Promptly our server, Adam greeted us and made drink recommendations. I decided to try the Espresso martini which had a great coffee taste and just the right amount of alcohol to get me buzzing. Adam also served the bread and butter, informing us the compound butter is freshly made every morning. It had a wonder herb and salt flavor slathered on the warm bread. Absolutely divine. Our appetizer order was taken in a timely manner, we decided in Shrimp cocktail, Smoked salmon and Steakhouse Meatballs. My favorite was the meatballs (theres no picture because it was devoured). 3 good sized meatballs well seasoned and moist in savory tomato sauce and creamy ricotta. The smoked salmon was 2nd, balanced flavors of smokey and creamy paired with the capers and egg. For my entree I got the 5oz wagyu AND the seared scallops. I always judge a upscale restaurant by how well they can season and search either a steak or scallops. I was not disappointed with either. Cutting into the steak and finding a perfectly warm medium rare inside is always so rewarding and the outside was flavorful and crusted nicely. My scallops were definitely a table favorite, everyone tried them and said the same thing, juicy not overcooked and perfect amount of seasoning. My boyfriend got the Prime Boneless Ribeye and it was massive, right amount of char and medium rare inside. Sides: Huge Shareable Portion sizes, we had the Baked potato, shells and cheese, Corn Brulee, asparagus, roasted carrots, and broccolini. My absolute favorite was the Corn Brulee, I will order that everytime from now one. Buttery creamed Corn with a torched sugar top.. amazing. Dessert: Sadly I could not eat another bite, my kids did get the creme brulee and it dissappear so quickly. We were also told the NY Cheesecake is locally made by a bakery everyday. I loved that it's not some previously frozen cheesecake and that they are supporting another local business. 10/10 will be back to try more things but what really sealed the deal was the service and attentiveness. I really appreciate the effort and pride they take in the food and service. I feel that IF anything was unsatisfactory, they would have corrected it immediately.

We ordered two apps: Blue Crab dip and Sesame Tuna Tartare. The dip came out steaming, so we spooned some on our crostini and let it cool while we ate our refreshing tartare. Flavor for both apps were on point. Entrée's were Sea Diver Scallops with a side of Rooted Coffee Roasted Carrots. Carrots were flavorful and the scallops were as smooth as butter. Also I got the Country Fried Quail. Having eaten quail throughout my life I wasn't expecting there to be bones in it because of the plating and manner of cooking. They were wonderful and swapped it out for their signature Griffin's Burger-a blend of chuck/brisket/short rib meat made for an elevated cheeseburger, the rosemary fries paired perfectly with it! We had also ordered the shells & cheese. 15/10! With a protein it could easily be an entrée! One of the best restaurant Mac & cheese I have ever eaten. Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We have already planned out what we are getting next time and we will definitely leave room for dessert. The music was just loud enough so you knew what was playing but soft enough that you could hear your dinner companions. Tables are close, but not so much that you feel like you are on top of each other.

The service started out very well. Our original server was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. However, as the restaurant became busier, the service declined noticeably. It seemed as though the larger groups were receiving much more attention than the tables of two. At some point, our original server and another server appeared to switch tables, and unfortunately, the second server was not nearly as attentive. By the middle of our meal, we felt like we had been forgotten. The food was also a mixed experience. I ordered the Bison Ribeye. The flavor was good, but the steak was surprisingly thin and was not cooked to the medium temperature I requested. In appearance, it reminded me more of a steak you might get at a diner than what I expected from a restaurant like The Wildmount. My wife ordered the chicken with fettuccine. Unfortunately, she found it far too salty and heavy on the garlic, which made the dish difficult to enjoy. Overall, it seemed to us that the chef was trying to incorporate too many different flavors, and they didn't always complement each other. We really wanted to love The Wildmount, particularly since we chose it for a special occasion. There are some interesting ideas on the menu, and our first server certainly made a good impression. However, based on our anniversary dinner, the food and especially the service did not live up to our expectations. Hopefully, this was just an off night, because The Wildmount has the potential to be a very good restaurant.
