I was actually shocked at the unprofessionalism from this facility. Employees were nice after I introduced myself and stated I was referred by my Mercedes-Benz service advisor. Got the auto body issue assessed and was promised an estimate that never materialized, even though I provided them with all of the information they needed to get paid for the pending claim. Perhaps a different outcome would have happened if I had waited a few days for the service advisor I was actually referred to by the dealer. What I do know: I will not be recommending this facility. A quick call or e-mail to say we can't take your vehicle would have been the professional thing to do. read more

My car was hit by another person on the right bumper and i took my car because this place is certified to fix Audi Cars. The person who helped me initially was Isaias, he is very professional and was always updating me while my car was in the shop, he kept in communication 100% and is such a great asset to this shop! Karen the manager ended up being my last contact person and she also went above and beyond in making sure that my car was given back to me due to a couple issues based on the person who had hit me, at the end everything went so great and when I got my car back it was like brand new! I was really pleased with the work done, my car looked like it was never hit ! Thank you Isaias for all your help! (: read more

What can I say about my experience with this place, other than it was top notch 5 star rating. The best experience I've ever had with any autobody shop or better yet any service industry. From the moment my service advisor Matt Weir recieved my car, he briefed me on what he was going to do from beginning to end and he didn't dissapoint. He walked me through the process in detail and followed up with me ever week on the stages of the repairs. He called on the days he said he would and at the times he noted. That type of detailed service is priceless. The best part is that he got my car back to me earlier than when it was expected to finish. I couldn't have been happier with my experience with this company. Thank you Matt for being so thorough. I highly recommend this company and ask for Matt Weir. You will not be dissapointed. read more

I had my new 2020 BMW repaired here a couple weeks ago due to a car accident. The customer service was excellent. My service provider Matt was great as well and took great care of me!! Kudos to him! However, today I noticed that there was an issue with the clear coat bubbling around my back bumper sensor. I got an immediate call back from the manager Karen and she has addressed this and I have an appointment already scheduled to fix this minor detail. She is great as well. They provide lifetime warranty and are going to provide me with a rental as well. Great customer service overall! I would highly recommend them. read more

DO NOT USE CALIBER. The location in Escondido took two months to complete my car repair. Two of the five people who worked with me during this time frame either quit or transferred. Every person I spoke to who worked at the location gave me differing estimates and time of completion dates. Then, Karen (the manager) agreed to pay for the difference in rental car costs due to caliber's excessive amount of time with my car. On the day I was to pay for the rental they said Karen only paid 240 of the almost 500 dollar car rental bill. So, karen paid for about half of the rental cost although I have emails stating she was to pay the full amount. I was lied to, and treated terribly at this location. Do not use caliber because they have terrible customer service and overcharge their customers. read more

Its all about individual leadership and its effect on the entire operation and beyond. There is a single employee, Mr. Ben Larsen who is the personification of leadership and intellectual curiosity. I will trust my Porsche GT3 with no one else. Ben is the location 'service writer' and from my perspective, the clear team leader at this location of Caliber's growing empire. He coordinated the refinishing of my wheels to factory specification with an outside vendor. Their first attempt at meeting Ben's standards (unbeknownst to me at the time) failed and guess what -- Ben rejected the wheels and had them refinished a second time to satisfaction. He made sure my desire for Road Force" balancing of the wheels took place, again requiring coordination with a second outside vendor. He got my my car totally detailed, inside and out by a thrid outside vendor to satisfaction. Please note, I have yet to comment on the body work which was the primary mission. I was shown exactly what was wrong with the car including the sub par work Amato's did ( a part was completely left out of the bumper assembly) from 2008, Ben took the high road and simply pointed out what had not been done -- he did not take the opportunity to comment on a competitor. Ben is a class as as well. He is just plain likable as well as totally professional. I am also impressed by his willingness to get on the ground, get under the car, get out from behind his desk and 'get dirty' as required. He holds the inside staff as well as outside vendors accountable to his standards which is how I will close this review. It only takes one leader to make the difference. Ben Larsen is that man to me. read more

Outstanding people working here. All repairs were done in a timely manner. They kept me updated on the progress of when my repairs would be finished. When I had a problem with a part failing due to manufacturer defect, they contacted BMW and had the part replaced and the labor covered. By far the best experience I have ever had with any auto repair/auto body facility. Ben and team were fantastic. Clear concise explanation of what the repair would entail, potential issues that we might encounter, and the process. Timely updates throughout the repair and did a great job setting expectations around the timeline. I highly recommend these guys for anyone in need of body work. read more

Worked with Aaron at Caliber European on my 2005 Audi s4 and was very happy with the service and results. Glad there is a specialist body shop in the area after having some nightmare issues in the past. Sadly, I've been in enough accidents to be able to compare. It took a few extra days since my specialist was traveling to a Benz-body work seminar, but I consider that a good thing. They were thorough, left my vehicle very clean, know the minute differences between models, and did a pretty solid paint-match. What I really appreciated was the customer service on a very complicated situation (2 separate collisions with 2 separate insurance agencies including supplemental work from a previous failed job at a shop in Colorado.) read more

This place is the best . Aaron Hough was my contact person and he was amazing . He gave me weekly updates about my car repair status and he really defines the true meaning of customer service. This place is awesome. Thorough, professional, and on too of things. Karen is wonderful in the office. Took care of me every step of the way. She was my "go-to" gal. Always returned my phone calls, answered any and all questions/concerns. Stayed on top of insurance- which we all know is a hassle but Karen handled it from start to finish. With regards to the auto body, Ben was amazing too. He called and updated me every step of the way. I was always "in-tuned" with regards to progress. Final product, my car was returned to me looking better than it did before my accident. The crew at caliber/European really takes care of their customers. I cannot believe how beautiful my car looks, like new. Quality and craftsmanship A plus. read more

Caliber European exceeded my expectations. I got tagged in a parking lot and needed aluminum body repair on my Audi S8. The professionalism and communication at Caliber is great. They keep you in the loop during the entire repair process. The repair was completed ahead of time. Matt was super nice. They even helped my wife change a tire when she took the car back to have a piece of trim installed. She hit something in the road on the way over to the repair center and was stranded with two kids at the shop. They got the spare tire installed and gave her directions to the closest tire repair shop. Not something they had to do, but went out of their way. Caliber European is one of the few places left where pride in customer service still exists. Not many places like this left in the state. I'll be using them again should anything else "happen" to one of my European cars. The only thing even remotely bad I have to say about Caliber is that when I took my car to the location in Carlsbad, I told them the car was aluminum. I get a call the next day saying they couldn't repair the car that the Carlsbad location because it was "aluminum". I guess they didn't listen initially. The problem was addressed when they relocated the car to the Escondido repair facility. Everything was smooth sailing from there. Not really a big deal. Just being picky. read more

So friendly and helpful. The lady behind the counter "Karen" is so wonderful. They give you all the information you need, make sure you are comfortable with all aspects of the repair process, give you a realistic timeline, and seem to really go out of their way to make sure customers come first. I would highly recommend this place to bring your injured car to even if your car insurance doesn't recommend it first. read more

It's not often that there is a "silver lining" in being involved in an automobile accident.....especially when you are not at fault. This was my predicament recently when my Audi got hit in a parking lot and fortunately the driver was insured (2nd blessing!).I contacted my Audi dealer for a recommendation of a body shop and was given two names. After reading the reviews on Yelp of both, I decided to go with Caliber/European Auto Body and what a fantastic choice I made! From the moment I dropped my car off, the staff and particularly Matt Wier, my Service Advisor, far exceeded my expectations! From phone calls keeping me updated on the insurance adjuster's inspection, to daily text messages, there was never a time I wondered about the status of my car. The body work was beautiful, my car was washed and ready on time, and they have a customer for life! Kudos and thank you Caliber Collision!!! read more

Took my Mercedes to the North Park location and they referred to me to this Caliber European in Escondido. Second time I took my vehicle to European auto body and both times worked directly with Ben Larson. The service and workmanship along with professionalism at this establishment can only be described as spectacular. My car is mate white and I was told that it would be close to impossible to match the paint in case it needed work. Needles to say work they performed was a perfect match in color, depth and texture. Because of mr. Larson and the entire team at this fine Caliber location I'm looking forward to my next visit knowing it would require damage to the car yet again. Should something happen to your vehicle take it there and I assure you it'll be as new when you get it back. Ben was generous enough to take care if a few chips here and there complimentary while working on the big stuff as well. read more

Wow! These guys are amazing. My daughter got in an accident in her BMW that almost totaled the car. I brought it in to these guys and I have to tell you, the car looks better than before the accident. Everything was done RIGHT! My 2018 Merc Benz was brought to Caliber Escondido to get fixed for car accident damage. My car was taken to Escondido with the tow truck I picked my car two weeks ago and I found discrepancies in my car. There are some scratches in the center console wood grin. The passenger chair is all the way down, the radios station has been changed. I noticed that the mileage went up more than 4 miles and gas was used up. I reported it right away and was told that they will take care of it. I've been talking to Tony 3X to meet up but until now he doesn't show up yet. He told me that he's been trying to set up an appointment to meet up his supervisor. I am very disappointed and still waiting how they're going to resolve this issues. read more

Absolutely great service and workmanship. I must admit initially I was disappointed with delays from the onset due to issues out of their control. Once my insurance carrier got on the ball the repair came along smoothly. Justin was very informative and and vested in repairing my vehicle. Amazing service, ask for Miguel he was making sure I was taken care of all times and made sure the vehicle was ready on time.

Exagerated prices to milk out insurance companies. Unacceptable estimates that are 4 to 5 times real times needed. Not honest

Beware of using this and other shops that are approved by insurance companies. It's in your best interest to choose your own shop. Read the documents. This shop and others have you sign stating they have a power of attorney to agree what will be done to your vehicle, inclusive of parts used, without your understanding and consent. The manager nor desk person explained this until I asked. Additionally I was just informed they did not check for safety items to still be in present such as a working airbags because they could not access the area. Instead they seem to be doing what is best for the insurance company and therefore themselves. It should be illegal for insurance to be permitted to dictate to a repair shop what will be done. You have a choice, take your vehicle to a dealer or other private shop who has integrity and is not in the pocket of the insurance companies. It's your and your family safety at risk as well as the value and proper operation of your car. read more

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take your car here!! Once again, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! My car needed some body work done due to a hit and run collision. They fixed the cosmetic damage and told me my car was done. When I went to pick it up it was UNDRIVABLE. I could not drive it off the lot. They claimed the problem was wear and tear to my power steering, but my car was not in that condition when I dropped it off. My car had to be towed to a mechanic where I had to pay over $1300 out of pocket. The manager at this location, Karen, told me that other problems come up all the time when the car is in their hands but that it isn't their fault. I insisted the problems they were claiming as wear and tear did not exist when my car was delivered to them, but she did not listen to me. She told me that in that point in time I was responsible. but she promised she would look into things. Guess who never called me back? That's right... Karen. This was the icing on the cake to a number of other headaches Caliber put me through. But that is for another review for another Caliber location (my car got shuffled between two different Caliber Collision repair shops). TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE FOR REPAIRS read more

My wife's Benz got rear ended and my insurance company told us to come here so we did. The office was very nice and clean well kept. Front desk person very professional and took care of our needs. The only negative is not enough space for customers to park but it was fine with us because we were the only one there at that time. They completed there job as promised. Mathew did a great job. He will call and let you know the status of your car. He even recommended a Benz shop nearby to help me with other repair I might need in the future which I'm glad he did. Thank you guys! read more

I was in a "fender bender" a few years ago (not my fault) and took my 2003 BMW 330i to Brecht BMW to see about the repair. They quoted me about $10k which seemed excessive for a hood, fender and corner light. European Auto body was recommended to me by the guys at All German Auto (Great Shop!) so I took it there for a quote. I was pretty happy with the initial experience and they quoted $4500 for the same job. I made an appointment and dropped it off for the repair which was supposed to be 10 to 14 days. I also wanted them to refinish my whole front bumper as it was scratched on the bottom from a parking block and I had a 6" very deep "key scrape" on my drivers door that I wanted fixed. I was quoted another $600 out of pocket for this work as it was not part of the insurance repair. Well it took them more like four weeks to get it done, which was not really a big deal. When I picked it up the car looked very good. The paint was very well done, with little orange peel, and had a better surface finish than the factory BMW paint. The bumper looked good, but the key mark on the door was not fixed. So the sales guy got a small bottle of "chip repair" paint and dabbed it into the crack to make it black, but you could still still see the big scrape as it was never sanded/buffed out. At that point I just wanted to leave and I was excited to get out of a crappy rental car and drive my baby home. I was mostly OK with it until I really looked at it a few days later. Then I noticed that the corner lights on it were the wrong ones... They had black interior trim when it was supposed to be silver, to match the head light interior bezel trim. I called them and took the car back and the sales guy hemmed and hawed about it and did not want to change them as I already had been driving it for a week. He "convinced" me that it looked good this way. I also found a big chip on the newly painted fender/ hood where it looked like they had smacked the two together when installing the hood. He said that if I brought it back for a couple of days they could fix it. Since I no longer had a rental car this was not really an option for me. I left a little disgruntled and figured what the heck. I dabbed some of the rock chip paint on it and let it go as it was not visible unless you were standing right in front of it. Much later on I found that they had broken the tabs on the chrome "kidney grilles" that fit onto the front of the hood when they removed them from the original hood and did not replace them with new ones. When the hood is closed, the plastic shroud inside sort of holds them in place, if you hold the grilles in place with your hand when closing the hood. But now that shroud is worn from rubbing on the grilles and if you hit a bump, the grilles pop out of the hood about 1/4" to 1/2" and rattle around. Now, about three years later, I am regularly disgusted when I look at the front of my car. The bumper looks like crap as they must have used a low quality paint that is too brittle. The bumper and hood are covered with big rock chips. The bumper is so speckled with chips it looks like I dove through a powdered sugar storm. When I have the car waxed every couple of weeks all the rock chips stand out white against the black paint, along with the big key scrape in my drivers door that turns into a white line. The front grilles rattle and stick out, the corner lights seem to obviously jump out as not matching the head lights every time I see them, and overall I would say that I would never recommend this place to work on your car... I totally regret trying to do the right thing and "saving" the insurance company $5k and taking it to the "cheaper" place to get it fixed. read more

I had my Porsche repaired here. One word to express "Excellent Job" Ben is the guy who took care of my car very much personally. He has excellent knowledge and customer service expertise. He knows exactly what to do, how to do. I loved the way he handled whole process. Also, the job done was great. I would highly recommend this body shop. If you are in San Diego and confused between Amato's body shop and European Auto Body, I would say 1000% go for European Auto Body (aka Caliber Collison at Venture St, Escandido). One more suggestion. If you are using google map to drive to this place.. it shows as elite body shop, but it is nothing but the same shop. Google Map has some issue showing it. All I can say is WOW. These guys and especially Ben are amazing. My husband dropped my hard top for my BMW. The guys at EAB did the impossible and made it look better than new! I took my Mercedes in to get some scrapes and dings fixed. This is the second time I have had them work on my car. Ben worked up the estimate and it was very reasonable. He presented options so I could choose how extensive a job I wanted done. They went beyond just fixing what was obvious. They buffed and painted little nicks all over the car and cleaned the interior. Even though they found an additional problem with the bumper after they started working on the car, they did not add any costs to the original estimate price. I had to pick the car up on a Saturday, when they are closed. Ben kindly met my husband and me at the shop to accommodate us. When we asked Ben about an estimate to fix a broken rear-view mirror on my husband's car, he did part of the repair right there and showed my husband how to finish the job! He would absolutely not accept any money for his time and work. The office staff I interacted with were pleasant, professional, and very helpful.
