they are LIARS. They didn't complete the work that was supposed to be completed. and the person we dealt with - Dubair, or something like that - is a flat out fucking liar. we went over certain thing four times and he lied to my face every time. the car looked terrible when it was done. they do lousy work and they are a dishonest rip-off. I have a witness and I have contacted an attorney. the experience couldmt have been any worse. and we had to rent a car for two and a half weeks as our car just sat in the lot most of the time. we went by there three times and saw it unmoved for most of the time. read more

avoid at all costs. i am beyond frustrated with auto body excellence. i gave them two chances to fix my vehicle after collision damage, and both times the results were completely unacceptable--yet they still stand behind this disappointing work. the car came back with uneven panel gaps, misaligned panels, a sagging bumper, paint defects (orange peel), dents in a replacement fender, missing bumper parts, some electrical connectors not properly secured/ repaired, and a headlight sticking out. communication was terrible, and billing was confusing-- was first told i owed over $100, then it was corrected to $26 after i showed receipts. technicians at the honda dealership where i work confirmed the repairs did not meet acceptable standards. i've also filed a complaint with the bureau of automotive repair (bar). do yourself a favor-avoid auto body excellence and go to a reputable body shop like el dorado. edit: the owner or whatever he is claims i took this vehicle apart, which is false. they left connectors unplugged, left pieces of the bumper off (but only bothered to install when brought up to them for the 2nd time), charged me for a replacement of a faulty side marker and the advisor debir let me know him self it was a poor repair. they cant take accountability for their poor repair so they stoop low and attempt to blame me for poor repair. i work for honda and no type r looks like this. and even if the bumper is supposed to look like this, it still doesn't justify the rest of the repairs. beware read more

Top Notch! A++ service. Had a little fender bender on my 98 Civic KLX. Athena kept me updated through the whole process. Picked up my car and its looks sooo gooood for a 27 year old car, Like nothing ever happened to it. Flawless job!! Paint and bodywork is superb! Time of pick up I waited for almost 3 hours to pick up my vehicle , I called prior to my arrival and get the status of my vehicle repair and they told me it should be ready by 2pm and I told them I can not come today I have work can I pick up the vehicle tomorrow, he said the insurance will not gonna extend the rent a car and they promise me that the vehicle is ready by 2pm . I arrived at the shop at 2:15 the vehicle is not ready he said to wait for 30 min . But I am waiting for almost 2 hours and it's not ready still . My time is waisted .my vehicle is finished almost 5pm . Do not do to other customers what you did to me if you can finish the car on time don't let us wait . This is the first and last time to this shop and never recommend to others , horrible experience , I cancelled my work just to pick up my vehicle I lost money and time . read more

10 STARS! I had a very simple job and they kept it...simple. I'm relatively new to the Poway area and unfortunately (fortunately?) I didn't have a go-to body shop. Now, I feel like I do. They are the preferred collision repair for at least a few of the new car dealers out on Poway Rd. Spoke to Jeff and he give me a great quote. I made an appointment right away. Showed up on time, they got started right away. Tidy, air conditioned waiting room with Keurig, water and wi-fi. They finished early...love it! Everybody was super nice. *Edited after I calmed down. Horrible experience! When I took my car in I was told that it should take about 10 days. It took a month! Their communication throughout the process sucked. When I ask for updates, I didnt get a response at all or days later I get a half ass response. Or, they claimed to have called and left a message... (I didn't). Also, my electric car was left with them with 155 mile range. At pickup, I had 14 mile range. They said they drove 60 miles for calibration. The worst part was the shop telling me to bring them a charger because they don't have an electric vehicle charger. My opinion is that they should take it to a charging station! If this was a gas vehicle and you got it to empty, you would put some gas in it instead of telling the customer to bring some gas. Besides the horrible experience, the finished product looks good, so, two stars. read more

Filed a police report for sabotaging my vehicle. Ruined my wheel lock and cross threaded my wheel lock nut on the stud causing it to break. Big time liars here state away. No clarification needed. I was never going to be charged anything. They called the wrong person and got mad at me for not calling back. I have all phone records and can prove every thing. They refuse to show any records of any calls. Simple if you called me show me. Because I can show you the number you called, how many times and still have the voicemails from that persons phone. I had no reason to be rude because I called my insurance company before I called this place to ask about a random call I got about charges. They said don't worry they can't charge you. I got angry after Vanessa said she was going to bash my business if I didn't pick up my car today. They knew they couldn't charge me extra and were mad about it. I was out of town with no pickup date scheduled. Liars all of them. Look at there first review 1 star. Should say everything. read more

Our Car was repaired at Auto Body Excellence under Insurance by other party's Insurance. Car was repaired but some portion became much worse than before. It was damaged worse by this Accident, but they did not repair this area at all. They said that we would have to pay over $1,400 to fix properly. See Photo before this Accident and After Repair for this Accident. Insurance Company could not do any help due to Auto Body Excellence is not one of preferred Body Shop by our Insurance Company. Before I took my vehicle here today I read the reviews. I usually focus on the recent reviews because I feel they tend to be more relevant (some times people leave, etc). This time it was a mistake because I read a review from "Jared" and I'm not sure what he experienced but mine was totally opposite. This place was the best auto body shop I've been too and the customer service was exceptional. They made me feel comfortable like I was family. Maybe Jared was that one relative the family doesn't really want around on the holidays? Sometimes people just want something to complain about and that can be a sad life, but as the saying goes misery loves company. I'd say if you're looking for something to complain about you may want to go somewhere else (possibly Jared's house JK, but seriously). I have zero complaints and only praise for Vanessa and her team. These folks know their stuff and if you want it done right you need to go through them. read more

After a hit and run, my auto insurance suggested this place for my Range Rover repairs. Headed over, have me a quote, ordered the parts and started working on my car. The car was in the shop for about 2 weeks, they kept me updated every step of the way. My whole passenger seat door had to be replaced and they did a great job. After I picked up my car, I noticed the speakers weren't working like they use to. They had me bring the car back and it was in shop again for a week. They fixed the passenger speakers. I thought everything was ok and I noticed in the sun, there was awful streak marks on the passenger door (only when sun shines on the car). I called them and they explained that on black car it's hard to clean and buff the car but to bring the car back and they would fix it. Brought it in, they buffed the door again, but unfortunately did not fix anything. I emailed them again to get it in one more time, but never heard back from them again. I finally took it to jaguar Land Rover dealership and they buffed and fixed. I don't suggest coming here if you have a black car. read more

I'm not too happy with this place anymore because of broken promises. I went here close to 2 weeks ago to have an estimate on a small dent and scratch marks on my car so I could start the process of getting my repair done. The woman that was helping me said she that their shop is full with repairs on other vehicles so she said to go home and wait a week for them to call me to bring my car in. I never got a call after a week. Then I called them and asked if I could bring my car in and they said that the woman who helped me wasn't in at that time and she would let her know to call me when she gets back. Well, I never got a call. I called 2 more times in the same week to reach that woman who was supposed to help me and the receptionist said the same thing that she was out of the office but she told me that she will let her know to call me when she gets back. Well it's 2 weeks now and still no call. I just don't understand why they aren't following through with their promises to me. I came he 3 other occasions to have body work done and the were very helpful and took my car in right away. They did a fantastic job on my car too. But now they seem to forget about me and this makes me very angry. I don't know what's the deal with them. I gave them a 1 star for their poor service. read more

My vehicle was involved in an accident 7/9/2024 and brought in for an estimate 7/11. Approval for work was given on 7/16/2024. From the beginning, our experience was poor and my wife felt she was not getting the information she wanted so I took over .We have not been consistently updated about progress on the vehicle. We were told it would be ready on 8/2/2024 but it was not. I called on 8/5 and was told it would be done by the end of the day on 8/6/2024. At the time when I asked the adjuster if he could call me when car was ready, it turned out he was actually reviewing the information for someone else's car! I called today, 8/7/2024, and was still not assured that vehicle would be ready today. Adjuster is Lorenzo Robles, who continues to assert that he did not give a "promise date." In reviewing business reviews on Yelp, this business has gotten several reviews of work not being completed on time and upset customers. I would just like my repairs completed and not have to deal with this business again. Extremely poor customer service. read more

Ive recommended multiple people to this shop for their excellent service, and was recommended this shop by Toyota of Poway themselves, as well as my insurance company Geico. They do excellent work and have excellent customer service skills. They also warranty everything they do, so if there is any problems you can always go back to them. During these crazy pandemic times, its very hard to get things done, and when I couldn't find any other shop to take my car for within a month, Jeff got me in instantly. He even had my car fixed 3 days before the original due date! Don't listen to the people with 1 star reviews, I can only imagine they are losers with no patience or understanding of the automotive industry. I had damage on different parts of my car from someone hitting me all down the side of my car. My car now looks BRAND NEW! You can't even tell that there was ever any damage at all! This place is amazing! From Day One, when I went in to get an estimate, I was impressed. Shasta took a look at my car, explained to me what the estimate encompassed, and prepared me for any further damage I couldn't see with my rear bumper piece still on. She even coordinated payment with a third party, which took that job off my hands. So easy and painless. Then when I actually took my car in for the repair, they got it back to tiptop shape in a couple of days (Wed to Fri)!! Through it all, Shasta kept me updated on the progress: yes, there was more extensive damage but no, that wouldn't be a problem for Auto Body Excellence. A great job by an amazing group of people!
