Sadly I've been to Fix It Auto in Poway 3 times this year with each of our vehicles. They are friendly and quick. They give you a visual estimate on the spot. You can choose to go through insurance or Out of pocket. Once you decide to go through them, documents will be drafted and they will give you an initial call to authorize work. After that, there's really no communication unless something went wrong. The last time we were there was for a rear bumper repair. We went through insurance and they finished in 8 days over a holiday weekend. Thank goodness our parts were not on back order and I didn't have to be in a rental long. Great quality work, fast and excellent customer service. Before that, I received a quote and settled privately with the other driver. Before that was through insurance. We were satisfied each time. There's a 3% fee if you pay with credit card. Cash or ATM preferred. read more

Beware! They worked on my BMW because a canopy blew into it back in 2023. They had to remove the shark fin antenna but did not seal it properly, thus causing water intrusion into the electrical components. I thought it was the TCB battery because it started with the SOS light coming on and off. I took it to the dealership to find out how much it would cost to replace and where it was located, and it turned out that there was a lot of water intrusion. I had it in the shop twice. I took the car into the dealership and ended up having it in the shop for over a month. A few days later, the issue continued. I never had issues with my BMW until they touched it, and the light was never on until I got it back from them. The insurance company handled it since it happened under the claim, but I was over my rental usage and did not want to keep having the car in the shop while paying two payments between the BMW and the rental. I had to trade my BMW in since it would have cost me double to rent and pay my usual car payment. Now I'm out of $7,500. The dealership stated the repairs could take another month or maybe two. As of today, March 1st, 2025, they still haven't reached out to me. read more

Such a severely disappointing experience from start to finish. After bringing in my car to have the RT quarter panel fixed, the quality and workmanship was poor and questionable. The shop estimator, Buddy, assured that the staff would perform a quality fix with minimal body filler. It was voiced with concern that it was better to have it replaced; however, Buddy disagreed and continued to assure me that I'll have nothing to worry about. I then received a notification that the car was finally repaired after almost a month. Upon evaluation of the work and as shown in the pictures, the major body line appeared "dull" and not as sharp when compared to the un-damaged LT quarter panel. Then, a paint depth gauge was used to measure the thickness of the repaired panel. The area closest to where the quarter panel meets with the rear bumper cover and the bottom corner of the RT tail lamp, a reading cannot be found. The measurements were presented to the shop manager, Ryan, and he defended that they didn't use too much body filler. If that's the case, why is that a reading cannot be found? Since there's too much body filler, the paint and body of the car will crack on the affected areas. After a fix that costed almost $6k, this became a massive headache that could've been avoided if they just replaced the RT quarter panel. Ryan was not professional on his conduct and choice of words and unwillingness to resolve situation. He still claims, the repair was perfect with minimal body filler used. My car now needs to be refixed, at a different location, for the damage that this shop has done. read more

Found this place in line and came for an estimate for some minor scuff marks on the plastic parts in a couple places. Abby took my car into the shop and did her magic. She improved the scuff marks more than 95%. Very happy and she did not charge me. I will definitely be back if I ever need repairs. read more

I dropped my car with scratch for painting on June 11th 2024, and a staff called Ben told me it would take 10 to 15 days to get it done, and most likely it would take less than 15 days. today it is 6/24, I was told my car was in the painting. It took 13 days just to get my car starts painting. And I should get my car around July 8 or 9. I was in an accident on June11, 2024. The other party was 100% at fault. My car was brought to Fix Auto, as this was the recommended repair shop by my insurer State Farm. After approximately 2 months my vehicle repair was completed according to Fix Auto. The repair cost of $9,000 was paid directly to Fix Auto by State Farm. I picked up my car and it was not driving properly. It pulls to the left while driving and pulls to the right when breaking. I called Fix Auto to tell them my vehicle is not working properly, as this pulling and listing did not occur prior to the accident. The response from Buddy at Fix Auto was those parts were not part of the accident and they break down with normal wear and tear. When I called State Farm to let them know of the ongoing damage to my car after it was picked up from the mechanic, I was informed that I need to have one of the State Farm recommended auto shop/mechanics call State Farm and confirm that those parts broke during my accident. Since I already had spoken to Fix Auto, I went to the Ford dealer to have a diagnostic test done. The diagnostics were inconclusive as to what caused the damage other than normal wear and tear. I was then given an estimate of $5,000 in repairs. Fix Auto failed to properly identify and repair the damage to the vehicle during the two months they had my car for repair. The reality is the cost to repair would have then exceeded the value of the car, which would have prompted State Farm to declare the car as a Total Loss. Which would mean no business for Fix Auto. My complaint against Fix Auto is this careless repair job was maliciously planned as they took the opportunity to make a quick buck off State Farm by repairing my car just under the value of the car and leaving all the other repair costs to me. No mechanic will expose this tactic, but it is truly clear to me. Had Fix Auto been honest in the way they managed this matter and informed State Farm of the actual price of the car damages ($14k), State Farm would have claimed this as a total loss and Fix Auto would have never received the $9,000 that State Farm paid them directly. My intent is to forewarn others to be aware of this business tactic against clients and insurance companies. read more

I my tire blew out on my way to work this morning. My insurance app listed them as a shop I could go to to get new tires. Unfortunately, they do not do tires but Duane was really generous and helped me replace the blown out tire with a spare. They did not have to do that at all but he did it all with a smile. At first, I was happy with the results. Front right side was in an accident and needed new headlight, bumper, fender, and windshield wiper fluid tank. A month or so later, I was told my headlight was out. Upon inspection the headlight was not working properly, didn't replace headlights with correct bulbs and light was misaligned. The sensor on my washer fluid tank no longer indicated my fluid was low like prior to replacement. Also noticed paint was left on the black part of my bumper, sloppy paint job! Just noticed today that my under car guard was missing two bolts on each side and hanging. Very disappointed in service since my insurance paid them $9K to do a less than par repair to my Mazda CX5. read more

If a negative number or stars were possible in rating this underhanded, fraudulent company I would give it. Everything appears on the up and up, but appearances are deceiving. due to their actions they are now under investigation by the California Bureau of Auto Repair, State Farm and the Elder Abuse Legal Aid Service of San Diego. The way they dealt with my 88 year old mother was horrible! She was referred to them by State Farm as a preferred provider and they hustled her along in their office initialing things for her and then telling her to sign in order to get an estimate. FAILING to tell her that for this small fender/bender accident on the left front corner they would disassemble the front of the car and would charge her $498 to put it back together and $190 per day for storage. They took over 3 weeks and 3 estimates to State Farm to conclude that the car was totaled according to the state and insurance guidelines. Their last estimate included an addendum for $2,000 in unforeseen repairs, bringing the estimate to just short of $7,000! Amazing that with everything disassembled they still couldn't identify all that needed fixing, but they could inform me that they had broken parts in taking it apart and couldn't/wouldn't put it back together. I became involved when my mother couldn't get any satisfactory results and Buddy at Fix Auto couldn't/wouldn't perform. Since the car was totaled according to their calculations and other shops didn't want to take on a repair of a car that was disassembled, my mom felt stuck. With State Farm's help we determined that Fix Auto's estimates were fluffed and fraudulent (like replacing a never used spare tire from the trunk). Their paperwork indicated that my mom's car was in road legal condition when brought in, but due to their actions was no longer in that condition and needed to be towed along with the parts to another shop. We found that - Steve at BNC Auto Repair of Poway - would take the vehicle and repair it back to original condition for about half of what Fix Auto would do. Then Fix Auto claimed that a missing part was not their fault, when State Farm found it was. This disrespectful business should be avoided in any way possible due to overblown estimates, poor inventory control, lack of customer care and willing to take advantage of women, elderly and anyone uninformed about vehicle repair. The end of the story is BNC Auto Repair delivered and my mom has her car back like it was before the accident and that was all she ever wanted. Cheers to Mike and the team at Fix Auto Poway. I wish I could have given him a proper thank you handshake, but well, Covid. A dude backed right into my poor ol prius in a Trader Joes parking lot and crumbled my bumper, with some additional damage to my drivers side back panel. Whomp Whomp. lucky for me, it wasn't super stressful and he hopped out of his car, admitted fault and promptly gave me his geico insurance info. Fix Auto is the preferred repair shop for Geico in my area and my adjuster scheduled my appointment and rental car. My drop off was easy, seamless and quick. Mike helped me out and things were really straightforward. The rental car company was called and they came to bring me the car onsite (which I didn't expect!) some quick paperwork and I was on my way. Mike was attentive with the repair info and timeline and I felt well informed over the 5 days until my car was ready. Upon pick up I was greeting with not only a gleaming bumper and perfect other repairs, but also a clean and vacuumed vehicle. Ford truck was at Fix auto Poway for 8 months for repair after accident. On initial return, the seats were not installed correctly, the seat fabric was just hanging off the back, the door locks did not work, the door trim was not installed properly, there was severe rattles coming from inside the doors, window tint was scratched, there was gaps in the headliner, the wiring looms going from the doors to the cab were just hanging, and in now way attached to the cab. The bed was riveted together, which according to Rick, was the preferred method of repair. Unfortunately Ford disagreed. Fast forward to today. My truck - 2018 F250 diesel, went to ford for safety recalls. Emissions, cameras, and door latch recall. I was informed by Ford that the door latch recall could bot be performed due to the horrendous job Fix auto did to the doors. Wrong parts used. Front door parts in rear door, and vice verse. Latch mechanisms installed incorrectly. Latch cables installed wrong, and zip tied in place. The list is long. Fix auto did not even use all the hardware to install the door trim and handles. 11 fasteners missing. So, today I got a bill from Ford Poway for $1786 so they can complete the safety recall. DO NOT USE FIX AUTO. I rarely leave reviews, as I am a fairly easy going person. This has me LIVID. They lie. They did a $26,000 repair to my truck. Yes $26,000 repair, and as the Ford service rep said- "Your truck is a disaster". The bed repair looks horrible. There are rivet "bumps" up and down the bed side top, the rivets in the wheel house look terrible. The doors rattled like crazy. And now, Ford is telling me to pay a bill so they can perform the recall, and fix the doors properly. Extremely frustrating to say the least. DO NOT USE FIX AUTO. read more

About a month ago, someone backed into me in a parking lot causing some damage to my front bumper (enough for repainting and repair). I found out about Fix Auto through a former Geico Employee saying they recommend all their customers to use this body shop. I have had bad experiences with various body shops around San Diego County, so I figured this one was going to be just as bad. My first thought before I walked in for a quote was "Oh, great. Here we go again." Little did I know that I would be wrong. When I walked in, Karen and Lily greeted me with a pleasant hello. Lily went back and let the estimator know I was there for my appointment. Daniel came out, introduced himself, and walked out to my car with me to do a visual inspection. After that, he explained everything to me in detail (time frame, list/location of repairs, etc). He was professional, friendly, and handled my car with impeccability and care. Once the initial inspection was over, Lily got my paperwork squared away and ready for me to sign. She communicated everything that I was signing clearly, and efficiently and answered any questions I had about what I was signing. She even called the rental car place for me to let them know I was going to be ready to be picked up. While my car was in the shop, Daniel kept in contact to keep me updated. A few days later he called and let me know my car was ready. (That was the fastest trip to the body shop in my whole life!) The day I got there to pick up my car, Karen greeted me with a cheerful hello and while we waited for the keys, we chatted for a bit. She was so pleasant and personable that I felt like I knew her for a long time. Doing the "walk-through" with Daniel, I noticed that not only did they fix the damage to my bumper, but he also had them fix some small scuffs that happened 4 years ago when I side-swiped a yellow pole at work (not even on the same side as the damage I brought the car in for). My experience here had me feel valued, appreciated and acknowledged as a human being, and not just some random number. Enterprise car rental was on location with a rental car, so I was in and out in about an hour. Mike (I believe) kept me updated every few days on my cars progress. If I could give a no stars I would. All they did was waste my time but worse my ride's time. I went there after an accident to have them look at my car. They set the a date and time. I called 2 business days before the date to confirm and was told to come in. I had someone follow me and not until I arrived was I told they couldn't get the parts. They can't get the parts they can't get the parts I understand. Why they couldn't bother to give me a phone call so I wasted my time making a round trip of an hour and my ride did the same, never mind effectively I also wasted my time bothering getting an estimate as well. I picked 3 to get an estimate from and, more importantly, look at the shop, see some of their work, and get a feel of their customer service. FIX was one of 3. The person at the desk said that she would not give me an estimate and would only work through the insurance company. I said I have not selected FIX to do the work and will not until I get an estimate and talk with the service rep. She was adamant that that isn't their policy. OK then. I guess they have too much business. As I walked away I said I have been to 3 other businesses and FIX is they ONLY ONE that refuses to give me an estimate. It has been my experience that companies with this rigid attitude generally have poor customer service and take a more 'take it or leave it' approach. Well I will leave it. Fix Auto is by far the best auto repair shop we have ever used...granted our experience is quite limited.. Last body shop was 20 years ago. However I am in constant touch with the local Honda and Toyota shops for routine maintenance. The Fix Auto customer service is top knotch. They were also helpful in arranging a rental car and kept me informed of the status of my repairs.
