Lexus proceeds to hand me a $10 voucher for coffee at the concession stand in the lobby...seriously!!!? Not needed but it is these little details that sets Lexus apart from the competitors. I have always had my oil changes done at Lexus Escondido. This last time, I take my 2018 IS300 and get my oil change during my lunch break, I was told by service writer "Chow" loaner cars were no longer offered for oil changes. I had to call Lyft to take me back to work, and then take me back to the dealership after my car was done. No prior notice about this amenity no longer being offered. My $145 oil change effectively cost over $200. in an email I received in January: Some of our amenities: Bilingual Staff (true I guess) Complimentary Car Wash (true) Complimentary Lexus Loaner Vehicle (totally false now) Elite of Lexus Dealer (it used to be) Saturday Service Hours (true in the past) State of the Art Facility (true) I used to go out of my way to go to Lexus Escondido where I bought my first Lexus and they had been awesome! Not a premium experience. I bought a Certified Lexus from this dealership. They knew I was coming and I even called ahead so they knew ai was coming. When I got there the car was dirty. It looked like it had been parked under a tree next to a lawn sprinkler for a week. I test drove it while it was dirty. I decided to buy it because I really wanted it. After I agreed to buy it the dealer sent it to be washed. When I finally got to see it clean there was more damage than I thought, not deal breaking but I definitely would have given it some more thought had I seen it before I bought it. I would have at least asked for the deep scratch on the hood that I didn't see when it was dirty be repaired. When the deal was finally done and it was time to leave my first stop was a gas station because the car had less than a 1/4 tank of gas left. I was in the service for 22 years so I'm used to being treated less than special but I really did expect more from Escondido Lexus. read more

If you only read one positive review, read mine. This was my first time buying a Lexus. I hate buying cars. I hate the haggle. I've been leasing Toyotas RAV4s for over a decade but decided it was time for something better. First, I went to Temecula Lexus but was not happy with the price and some of the comments made about my trade in. I called Escondido Lexus and asked to be helped by a woman. I was introduced to Coco - she got me the price I wanted and I didn't have to haggle. I was happy, car was ordered, just had to wait a few days. Wellllll.... I get a call from Coco. Apparently the dealership the car was transferring from messed up and they didn't have the car I ordered. The manager at Escondido wouldn't accept this and had them ship the only car they had in the same color combo, which was the hybrid premium version of what I bought and THEY HONORED THE ORIGINAL PRICE. Yep. They knocked a ton off msrp to make sure I still got it for what I asked. I hadn't even signed paperwork yet and they did this on their own before they even called me. I've had a rough year and this was probably the coolest thing that had happened to me in years. They took a massive hit because it was the right thing to do. Never been to a dealership that would do that. I only lease my cars and I can say I'll never set foot in another dealership again. This is the best and the reason why their reviews are so good. I have nothing but glowing reviews for Escondido Lexus and in particular Coco Vega my sales consultant. I was looking for a 2026 LC 500 and none of the local dealers in my area had any available without a $25,000 - $100,000 premium. I was searching dealerships and found Escondido Lexus which had an LC500 in transit. I messaged the dealer and was put in touch with Coco. She was very transparent and told me that because they were going to stop manufacturing this model in August it would be very difficult. She mentioned that if I would put down a refundable deposit that she would put me on the list. If the car in question came in and for some reason the party that ordered it backed out of the deal she would give me a call. On March 8th I put down a deposit and waited. On April 11th they received a blue LC500 and texted Coco and she would let me know if the deal fell through. April 14th, she texted that the buyer did indeed go through with the deal. On April 29th Coco told me I should go onto Lexus website and do a Custom Build to see if the factory would accept the order. Over the next couple of months (checking in on May 11th, June 1st, and June 30th) I checked in periodically with Coco, but there was no news either way. On July 3rd, Coco said it wasn't looking good and asked if I wanted to process my refund. I said no, let's just wait a little longer. Good thing I didn't process the refund, because on July 21st I got a call from Coco saying that a White LC500 had come in and it was mine if I wanted it. The next day I drove from Laguna Beach down to Escondido (54 miles away) and picked up my new car. I had such a great experience with everyone at the dealership -- from Coco (of course) to the Manager, the Finance man, and the technology consultant. If you want to be treated in an honest and transparent manner, Escondido Lexus is the place. I've never been to a dealership where all the employees seemed happy to be working there. read more

Well Vanessa, I have been getting my car washed for many months. Prior to new ownership, the wait for a car wash was ALWAYS under an hour. I was never given the excuse that the car wash is first for cars already in for service. This is poor service, plain and simple. The new owner is pinching pennies and it shows. Tell him to hire another person to wash cars if he know the wait is long, and if he sincerely wants to satisfy the clientele. Recently, my husband and I purchased a Lexus NX 350h at Lexus Escondido. Our experience started out pleasant enough. Our sales rep, Michael, was friendly and knowledgeable and facilitated a test drive as soon as we expressed interest. Our only disappointment with Michael was that he said our old car only had a trade-in value of $7500 despite showing him an offer from Carmax for $10,000. He said he didn't believe Carmax would give us $10,000 and offered us $8,000. We declined his offer, and went back to Carmax. They paid us $10,000 as they promised. Thank you, Carmax!!! Regardless, our overall experience with Michael was fine, but that was only a portion of the purchasing experience. Unfortunately, our experience in financing was so awful that we regret not walking out and going to another dealership. My husband and I have both purchased from various dealerships many times. Heading into financing, we were prepared for a sales pitch, as we know it is part of the process. However, we have never had such an unpleasant experience as we did with Misael. He started out friendly enough, but was soon lecturing us on our intent to pay off our loan early (which we had not even brought up to him). We did not appreciate his unsolicited advice. My husband and I are intelligent, well-educated retired teachers, but he spoke to us in a condescending manner. After we refused his hard sell on the warranties, he became very unfriendly, more condescending, and more aggressive with his sales tactics. He made comments like, "These warranties are especially important for folks like you", implying that we could not afford repairs. He used the phrase "Folks like you..." or "People like you..." in a disrespectful manner several times. In one attempt to change our minds about the warranties, he told us that we would likely have this car for the rest of our lives (I'm only 58; my husband is 61). He attempted the hard sell on THREE different occasions during the process even after we made it very clear that we did not want to purchase any additional warranties. Several times, he mentioned that more and more people are bringing in their cars for repair because of all the new technology. That didn't make us feel very confident in Lexus! He even had the nerve to ask, "Have you even owned a luxury car before?". My husband and I felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected throughout the whole finance process. As stated earlier, we regret not walking out and going to a different dealership. Buying a new car should be exciting and uplifting. As a customer, you should feel valued and appreciated. We felt judged and belittled. So far, we love our new Lexus. But if we decide to purchase another in the future, it will not be from Escondido Lexus. read more

I recently purchased a preowned GX 460 for my wife from this place. I know these cars are hard to come by with the V8 so the day we bought this car, was not planned. I specifically said I am looking a 7 seater. He showed me a few TX but I was not impress. Then, he mentioned that he has a preowned certified 2023 GX 460. This is the car I have been hunting for more that a year. I consulted with my wife and had her check it out. Long story short, we got the car. As far as Martin, he is a super nice guy. Soft spoken, very helpful and really spent time speaking to my wife about the car. My family has purchased 7 cars from this dealer and we usually deal with Emiliano (He left the company). Twice in service, twice disappointed. The first time it was supposed to be a "60 minute or less" oil change that became almost 3 hours. Those signs have since disappeared. Second visit, oil change and a recall. Confirmed a loaner the day before our 10am Friday appt. After checking in and being led to the loaner desk by our advisor, we're told that there are 10 people ahead of us waiting for a loaner but there are no loaners available until some are returned. We opt for a ride home, cancel the oil change, just do the recall and let us know when it's done. They picked us up when service was Talking to an employee revealed that this is a common occurrence, he said they over book and run out of loaners on a regular basis. Just tell me you have no loaners! I'll make other arrangements versus lying to your customers. The dealership has a depressing vibe compared to when we purchased our vehicle. The accessory/gift shop is closed, hardly any inventory available and service is overwhelmed. The Lexus "experience" is no better than Toyota, Ford or any other brand. The car is fine but Lexus needs to stop over promising and under delivering. read more

I brought my 2024 NX 450h+ in for 20,000 mile maintenance. I prepaid for maintenance when I purchased the car. My service person said the 3 additional services were "recommended." I found that odd given that my car is still fairly new. I declined the alignment because I knew the car was handling fine and that cost over $200. He also said I should get a "Fuel Induction Service" and "Hybrid Filter" both priced around $200 each. I didn't know any better and assumed that these were factory recommendations so I agreed. I made a 7:30 am appointment and "Jesse" said it would take a while due to a recall fix. So I took a loaner. When I went home, I researched what is recommended for my car at 20,000 miles and nowhere could I find the 3 additional services Jesse said I should get. I was finally notified over 48 hours later my car was finished. I chose Lexus because I thought they had a reputation for good service. I also dealt with a couple of decent people at Lexus Escondido. I believe the service person Jesse was absolutely scamming. I prepaid the maintenance so he looked for other ways for me to pay Lexus for the "maintenance." $400 later I got my car back. I DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL FOR SERVICE NOW AND SUGGEST YOU BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN THEY "RECOMMEND" SERVICES AND CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE PAYING. This place deserves no stars. When I went looking for a used vehicle they didn't have a single electric car, I was shocked. The car I ended up buying (10 year old used car) has some glaring issues that clearly a non-existent inspection team missed, either that or they are blind at best or just don't care at worst. With what should have been some sort of certified used vehicle, I'm left with a car that has some wrong parts installed and brakes that need replacement right away. The rear wiper they had installed was literally too big and scratched the top of the car. I'm owed at least some touch up paint, let alone an apology and some money, but doubt I will receive any of that from Lexus Escondido. I get all these emails from them saying that my vehicle "Has gone up in value" which is completely fake and insulting to my intelligence. The sales people at Lexus Escondido don't know what they are doing and the office is incredibly outdated with sun-washed photos from decades ago and I'd say the whole building is in need of a remodel (surely they can afford it). Overall the employees here don't know what they are doing at Lexus Escondido and you should take your business elsewhere. read more

I can't trust Lexus of Escondido and its employees to keep track of my keys or my vehicle or yours. I have had 2 unfortunate experiences with the service department that was alarming and unacceptable customer service. I scheduled a service appointment and simultaneously booked a loaner via the RZ rental program. My husband dropped off the vehicle and although the service department was quite busy it appeared that communication had not occurred internally between service and loaner departments. We were informed that the service booked was not covered by my service package. Disappointed and feeling misled about the coverage for service and maintenance we settled for a carwash and left our vehicle in exchange for the rental/loaner (part of the rz program includes a car wash, vehicle charging while a rental/loaner is in use.) Approximately an hour after my vehicle was dropped off I received a call from Robin who was uninformed about my vehicle service/rental. She stated my car was ready for pickup and did not have knowledge of the rental. I clarified that my vehicle would be staying through the weekend. I returned the vehicle at approximately 7:45 am. I walked up the cashier (Robin) and she was unable to find my keys. She walked around a bit and called someone who was not working that day to ask if they had placed my keys elsewhere. She called over the service manager to see if the keys had been placed in a safe. She returned and stated that she didn't know where my keys were and that she would have my vehicle delivered to me. I have a digital key on my phone and I instead asked that she call me when the keys were found as I could open and start my car with my phone. I asked where my vehicle was parked and she did not know. She said that the vehicle could be parked anywhere out front apologized for the inconvenience and offered me something from the cafe. I declined as I was running late for an appointment. I walked out and my vehicle was nowhere to be found. I returned to the desk and asked her to help me find my vehicle as it was not parked outside. Multiple staff came by to help her look for my keys and car and no one could find either. No one had a clue where my keys were or where my vehicle was. 30 minutes had gone and by 8:15 Robin returns and states that my car had been washed again and that it had been placed on the charger and someone was bringing it around. She said "It's not my fault someone took the keys and didn't tell me" I find it appalling that just anyone could take keys, no one was informed, and no record was kept of where my vehicle was. I was then asked by another male staff member what color my vehicle was. Shouldn't they know? I answered the man in the driveway that my vehicle is gray. He returns at 8:29 with a silver RZ and says "here it is" The staff was prepared to hand me the keys to a vehicle that did not belong to me which was the most alarming and egregious error. Several minutes later my vehicle was returned at about 8:40 am. My vehicle was not washed, not charged, (it only had 32 miles of charge) and I was unable to make it to my appointment. Unfortunately these mistakes represent a serious lapse in professional standards that could potentially mislead or harm other customers. Im incredibly disappointed with how poorly this was all handled by so many staff members. When I initially leased my RZ as my first family vehicle I was led to believe that they prided themselves on quality, safety and excellent customer service. I was instead met with a careless, uncommunicative, and irresponsible team who lost my keys, misplaced my vehicle, and nearly handed over someone else's vehicle. I recently returned for a 10K maintenance service and found out about 3 recalls on my vehicle. When I dropped off my vehicle I explained the previous incident had occurred to my service advisor Tyler and he assured me this would not happen again. The next morning I receive a call from Kyle at Lexus asking me to schedule my service. Confused and concerned that my vehicle had once again been misplaced I return the call and he apologizes for the miscommunication stating that he was new. Fine mistakes happen but who is running this place? Why does no one seem to be informed? Why are new employees not being guided? Why am I worried about my vehicle? I come by later that afternoon to pick up my vehicle after a call with Tyler the service advisor who was apologetic for the inconvenience. I stop in and chat with Bob Zepeda who is the sales person I initially set up my lease with. I explain all my concerns and he assures me that he will speak with service and management about my concerns. Although I received two follow up calls from Bob I never heard from anyone in service or management. How can I trust that they are repairing and maintaining a vehicle that I drive my family in? I just picked up my car from service department and I am very happy with my experience. I couldn't get a loaner car this time because they just updated their loaner policy and only certain services can now get loaners so I had to wait but it was fine. My advisor was very nice and the rest of the staff kept checking on me making sure my time was valued which I appreciated! A simple oil change turn into $900 dollar maintenance fee on a car with less than 26k miles and other Lexus dealerships told me the year of my car is still in good standing. After I declined to sign for the $900 fee and told him I just wanted an oil change, this staff then told me they do not have loaner car, and I will need to pay to rent a vehicle. The staff name is Jims. Complete scammer, I do not trust nor will I ever step foot into this place again. One star is too good for them. read more

We were in the market for an new SUV, and stopped in. The sales staff were great, not pushy, very friendly. We ended up leasing a RZ350. As Tesla owners (leased prior to Elon losing his mind), we were very aware of the charging locations and the ease of finding them. We had been told that Toyota/Lexus were going to utilize the Tesla chargers beginning with 2025 models and we specifically asked if they were compatible with the model we leased, and were assured that they were. We also inquired as to adapters, and were told that they were also available. Not so much on either account. The lexus is not compatible with Tesla chargers. Aftermarket chargers are inconsistently compatible. As we travel between northern and southern California frequently, there are limited locations that the Lexus can be charged, which makes driving the Lexus long distances a challenge and creates unnecessary anxiety. Overall disappointing experience as the sales staff really don't seem to know the product they sold. read more
