I've been a Volkswagen owner for nearly 20 years, and this has been, without question, the worst dealership experience I've ever had. I had a great car-buying experience at first, but unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. My first service visit started with the dealership ordering the wrong part. Mistakes happen, but it was the beginning of a frustrating pattern. When I returned to have the correct part installed, a technician accidentally ripped the driver's seat. It then took over three months for the dealership to provide a loaner vehicle so they could repair the damage they caused by patching over the rip. The repair lasted only a few weeks before the seat ripped again. Now, more than a year later, they're still refusing to replace the damaged seat cover. The Service Manager's (Kim Yuquimpo, Joshua Rippo, Ron Gibson) only solution is to patch it again--which would only conceal the rip, not actually fix it--even though the first repair already failed. I don't have time to keep bringing my car back every few weeks because of a problem their technician created. To make matters worse, replacing the seat cover properly will cost over $800--a bill I'm now expected to pay myself because the dealership refuses to take responsibility for damage caused by its own technician. That's simply unacceptable. This was a brand-new car that their employee damaged. What has been most disappointing is the complete lack of accountability. Had they simply taken responsibility and replaced the seat cover, they would have earned a customer for life. Instead, they chose to save a few hundred dollars and lost a customer who has been loyal to the Volkswagen brand for nearly 20 years. I'll never return to this dealership, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Based on how this situation was handled, I'd also think twice before doing business with any Mossy-owned dealership. CROOKS!!! We have been going to this dealership for all of our maintenance and repairs for 10 years. We bought a vehicle in 2016 and have been loyal customers since date of purchase. We recently took our vehicle in for brake service. They informed me the brakes and rotors need to be replaced immediately. So we bought the parts and took them home to install ourselves. When we took the pads and rotors off they were fine, we had over 50% left on the pads when they reported to me there was only 3%. They refused to take the parts back when I brought it to their attention. After 10 years and multiple visits, I wonder how many times they ripped us off with their inaccurate diagnosis. We will not be returning to this dealership and will not recommend them in any capacity. Poor leadership and management skills. read more

This place deserves zero stars. I would have never, ever purchased a Volkswagen knowing the experiences we'd have to face with this service department with our 2024 Atlas. After an unfortunate few months with an issue that was never resolved, we now have a broken cup holder with malfunctioning springs that they're trying to charge over $600 for saying warranty doesn't cover it. Interesting thing that you put cups in cup holders, they break while the car is still covered under warranty, and VW Escondido refuse to help fix it. Filing all the complaints possible and I'd advise anyone considering a VW to take your money elsewhere. We are so disappointed! read more

The problem is they do not put the correct oil in your vehicle. !!!! The sad part is I'm not sure when they stopped caring. And this is no joke if you have a vehicle, especially a V6 model that does not use the thinnest oil on the market as most new vehicles are being forced to use by the epa you will get stuck with a thinner oil that which could lead to leaking and premature ware How do I know this because I took my oil to blackstone labs and they stated over and over this oil was not the correct weight that they had claimed it to be. This includes on paper that they claimed they were putting 0w30 in my engine when they're only putting 0w20. I have learned that most dealerships only stock in mass one weight of oil for all vehicles. And if your mechanic doesn't care, he will put that foil in your car. I wanted that type of service I would go to a liquid oil, change, location, where you know 75% chances they will not put the correct weight of oil for your engine if you care about your vehicle and care about the weight of oil placed in your vehicle for reliability do your own oil changes or find a shop that actually cares about the work they do read more

This is my third visit to this service department, and I'm honestly unsure if I should continue coming here or try a different VW dealership. We purchased our 2019 VW Beetle elsewhere but have been using this location for all of our service needs since then. Unfortunately, the experience has been far from seamless. Despite having extended warranties and maintenance plans, I constantly find myself being upsold on services that may not even be necessary. The mechanic or service advisor does not seem to check if previous work has already been completed, which leads to repeated recommendations for the same repairs. Instead of getting clear explanations in person, I just receive an email with work recommendations, leaving me to follow up with a phone call to ask whether the services are actually necessary. On our last visit, we weren't even informed that a part had been ordered and that the car would need to stay overnight. I had to ask specifically about the repair status for the issue we originally brought the car in for--on top of sorting through all the extra recommended add-on services. It's either a lack of attention to detail or a deliberate attempt to push unnecessary services, which makes me question the integrity of this dealership. While the staff is friendly enough, the overall experience leaves much to be desired. I may give them one more chance, but if this continues, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Never in my life have I been treated so poorly at a dealership. They tried to slap on a $4000 'maintenance' fee on the very last sheet before signing without mentioning it at all (which is illegal). They were also very aggressive, they said that if I left the dealership they wouldn't give me the same 'deal' the next day (also illegal). They would talk at you rapid fire constantly so you couldn't think to pressure you. I went with my mom so she could cosign for a better rate, and they called her EVERY HOUR on the hour for all of the next day. Not to mention the manager was unbelievably disrespectful and constantly raising his voice. I would honestly expect their behavior out of Indian Call Center scammers not a VW dealership, VW dealerships are supposed to be nice. I went to a different VW and got a much cheaper price within 30 minutes. My experience was way better too, they were so much nicer and more straightforward. TECHNICIAN DROVE MY CAR HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE DURING A UNNECESSARY "TEST DRIVE". I came in for a AIRBAG RECALL on my vehicle and no part of that job requires a test drive as it has nothing to do with the engine. Service advisor who claimed to be a manager (there was no badge indicating that he was) stated "it was apart of the multi-point inspection to see if the engine can handle the load and also make sure no engine light comes on. I felt lied too and he was trying to cover the tech. I told the "service advisor manager" if my engine blows up on that test drive due to that aggressive driving by the tech, I THE CUSTOMER IS 100% LIABLE FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSE BY THE AGGRESSIVE/UNNEEDED TEST DRIVE, he (service advisor) of course disagrees but anyone who worked at a dealership knows that is a lie and I would've been with a blown engine and SOL. My feedback to this establishment is DISCLOSE A TEST DRIVE that will be taking place as I had no knowledge of such until it was too late. read more

I bought a used Nissan from this dealership about a year ago, and they sold me an additional product through the finance department. Now, I need more information about it. I have called the finance department 20 times, but no one has returned my calls. Someone from the sales department did call me back, but they couldn't locate my account. However, finance has all the information and can conduct a complete search. Unfortunately, there seems to be no regard for clients at this dealership, as it has been seven days, and they still have not responded or contacted me. I live 40 minutes away from them, so driving back is a hassle. I am 100% sure I bought the car from this dealership--aside from remembering the purchase, my license plates were even issued there!
