I hired Cali Movers to pack a trailer to leave Los Angeles. The men were super organized, professional and incredibly nice to my little boy. They arrived in one vehicle and assisted the truck driver in getting the trailer parked spot on - right in front of our apartment building to aid/facilitate with the loading. 4 men packed our trailer over 4 hours with total ease. I had a head start on the packing but on items that we didn't prepare, the men packed beautifully. I can easily testify that they were the best part of our move. NOT ONE PIECE OF MY POTTERY ARRIVED BROKEN after traveling across the states for 3 days. Everything in the trailer was in excellent condition. I would easily recommend our team again and would be happy to talk/email with anyone considering using Cali Movers. My move with this company has been an absolute nightmare! The workers were lazy and rude, complained constantly about the stairs, did not put anything where it was supposed to be and lacked knowledge of how to use a dolly. I would not recommend, I was quoted a price and then when they arrived they refused to load the truck without another$1700. Worst move ever and we are still trying to find things a week later! I would not suggest Cali Movers. They do a terrible job at securing and packing your belongings into their trucks. They dinged and scratched all 4 doors of my brand new $3k Samusung fridge, bent and scratched our $150 Fess Tool Track, damaged and broke our $100 convection oven, and broke our 1800's vintage chairs worth $1,800 a piece. After I filled my claim they said they would pay us a measly $116 for damages. WHAT A JOKE!! My fridge doors cost $250 each to replace!! When I confronted them about the ridiculous claim reimbursement they said I hadn't selected the full coverage. I was never offered "full coverage". I've never had a moving company damage so many of my things and refuse to give a comparable amount in settlement. Save yourself the headache and find a different moving company. read more

This company was recommended to me by my friend Jay. I'm very grateful that I was able to use his recommendation. The movers were very professional and careful with how they operated.. I regret not remembering their names on the top of my head but every furniture they moved was carefully sealed and packaged to prevent any damages. What I loved about their service is how punctual they are upon arriving... they also went above and beyond to help move certain furnitures into my new place in specific areas where I imagined it to be. this company sucks! stay away unless you want to throw away money!!!! so much wrong with them from the office to the movers. very slow, wrap up too much stuff and the wrong things probably just to kill time and charge more. they left things behind at the pick up location and didnt fit all into one move and then eric at office said they could go back next day for 147.00 an hr to finish after my total bill was 1843.00! after i said no and said my concerns it was so hard to get in touch with this company and i just kept getting back text's from different people passing the buck! and they left so many items wrapped in thier moving blankets and plastic also the garment boxes were left behind, didnt put my things back in the proper places either and most of all my daughter's medical supplies are burried somewhere and cant find, i keep requesting a call back and just get lame excuses ! one guys said no voice and has covid, other messages were not in the office today it goes on and on, but sounded like the best option when i was calling to set up service eric was a good sells man for the worst company!!!! read more

The movers were professional and friendly. The crew was a couple hour late which added to Moving day stress. Rates were good. There was not one broken item, all of our belongings were handled with care! Overall a good company, communication on when they would arrive and a 3% credit card fee that wasn't disclosed was the only issues. So fraustrated.. they were intentionally slow and literally just placed all the boxes in my living room. I had to carry all the boxes upstairs. In addition, they charged me from 8am to 2:30pm (which I expected) but that included the hour drive to my new place within that time frame. The movers were really nice, tried to make sure things were where we wanted for the most part. i did get a call about 12 hours before our scheduled time to ask if we could postpone the move for a day due to their truck being in the shop, but he called back saying they found a solution to keep our scheduled time. They showed up about 30 minutes after the scheduled window, but in general were nice and accommodating. The estimate did not include the use of materials, so i paid about $100 more than I anticipated even though I was under the impression from my conversation during booking that it would be included. But all in all I would use these guys again for the price and care. read more

Too bad I cannot give this company a ZERO star rating. Before I begin: Nickie is the only good thing this company has going for them. Moved from Pasadena, CA to Dallas, TX and CaliMovers literally triggered my anxiety and made me get strep throat. Requested a quote and Oscar and Nickie came to my house to provide me a quote. Once I told them I would think about it Oscar proceeded to tell me all of the things I needed to watch out for with other companies and even went as far as too name a few he knew I was considering and talked negatively about them. Out of fear and thankfulness for Oscar being honest about how other moving companies were I decided to go with CaliMovers. Packing Day went GREAT. My items were loaded on the truck and I was told they would hold it in storage for 30 days and my items would be delivered on time. Fast Forward: I referred me friends to CaliMovers and here came the regret. They were over a week LATE delivering for my friends, constant lies about the date they would arrive & to top it off the drivers showed up DRUNK! Let's talk about me now - I called CaliMovers after my friends went through hell and stressed my concern and OSCAR had the nerve to talk to me like I was a child and then said, "you can have another company come get your stuff because the novel doesn't matter to us"! JUST WOW! I called Nickie and she calmed me down and assured me I wouldn't have to deal with Oscar again. Here comes moving (delivery) day- the drivers COULDN'T make it on the deliver date. After spending $100+ on blankets, air mattress and pillows the driver said they still couldn't make it the following day. So here we are 2 days late and I'm frustrated as ever! The movers finally came To my house and argued with me for 2 hours about bringing their truck down my street (which I knew could fit because several trucks came through my street) & made me walk down the street to meet them because the wanted to see the route. GUESS WHAT!? Oscar scared me about other companies using contracted drivers and how CaliMovers doesn't do that. Well a contracted driver showed up and my items were MESSED UP!!! They used a box cutter to remove the plastic wrap and sliced my mattress, sliced my bed, sliced my couch and stained and broke items. Oh and my Vacuum attachment was missing, which was connected to my vacuum. They offered a refund of a whole $120. Wow.... Lesson learned: READ THE CONTRACT & don't let them rush you or bully you. This was the first of many reviews considering I'm a marketing graduate and a social media queen. 5 Stars because not only did Cali do an amazing job moving our entire home a few years back but they also recently relocated a piano from Northern CA to Southern. I've worked with Nikki on both moves. They have flat quotes so there are no surprises. So, I was moving on in August knowing it probably would be 100 degrees and moving from a two story home to a two story home. HELP! I googled Moving Company's and CaliMovers was one of the first to pop up. Great reviews and Nicki gave me quick and thorough information. She knew what to ask and suggest without feeling any kind of pressure. I ended up getting 4 hard working Men to tackle the job. David led the team to get it done. They were amazing!!! They loaded our SECOND truck as well and off loaded it too. They didn't take advantage of the hourly rate, I had to tell them to take a couple breaks in the sweltering conditions. They were extremely careful with glass and items that weren't wrapped well , they took time and care to cushion or rewrap. Even moved our heavy old piano. Highly Recommend ! read more

Cali movers is a very bad company to deal with. Very unprofessional and "we don't want your business " attitude. Shame on you Mr. Jay Beckett, Oscar Flores and Nikkie L. Please do NOT do business with them. I am going to report this incident to BBB, certified promoters, CMSA and ATA. Cali movers confirmed my in California move from Los Angeles to Oakland on 11-12-21 via phone calls and emails for a $3000.00 flat fee with all labor to pack large furniture and load 40 to 60 boxes and storing for 3months and Re deliver and set up. I gave a deposit of $300 on my Visa card. Everything was finalized. Then I called them back to tell them to charge my American Express cards instead of my Visa card. But instead of honoring my request the manager Oscar Flores, who has been working with me, went all crazy very unprofessional and canceled my move contract, he said " you are going to be trouble for me and I don't want your business ". I pleaded with him that please don't cancel as we have agreed to his and spent hours finalizing this. So I called their customer service manager Nikkie who was shocked that this happened and she told me that she will check it and let me know. Next day I called to find out the results and she said that " my boss told me that we don't need your business and cancel the contract ". Biggest issue was the disorganization of items across boxes, and it seemed like they weren't thinking about why some items needed to be wrapped and others didn't. They wrapped all of our plastic items individually and wasted massive amounts of paper, and then they wrapped all of our fine porcelain dishes together, not caring at all if those items were damaged. And the cherry on top was the amount of trash that they packed up to be moved. They just didn't think about what they were doing. And finally, there were too many people in the house at one time, clearly not obeying social distancing. They were nice people and polite, but I wouldn't pay for this service if I knew this would happen. read more

Long review. BOTTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE WATCHING PEOPLE DO NOTHING AND SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN WHAT YOU WERE TOLD TO DO. I should have realized we had a problem when one of the four movers I paid for turned out to be an extremely expensive administrative assistant. We were told on the phone after we asked at least four times that the drive time would be whatever Google maps said it should be, not however long it took them to get from point A to point B. We had no control over where they might have stopped, traffic, routes they decided to take etc. They spent over 3 hours at point A when it was supposed to be 2 after a lengthy bathroom break by Ivan. He spent 30 minutes in the bathroom that we had just cleaned and his friends heckled him in Spanish upon his return. Once they finally arrived at point B, where I had already been for over an hour, the glorified administrative assistant told me they were going to go three hours over the time they had told us and that my new total was going to be an extra $645. He said it had taken them this much time to get to point B despite us discussing that Oscar (the moving specialist) had told us it would be based off Google maps. He then proceeded to argue with me over the price after I told him that was unacceptable. I had already told them at point A that the pace was way too slow after watching one man just roll a single desk chair out to the truck. Two of them had spent 30 minutes disassembling a very simple desk at point A as well. They spent copious amounts of time at Point A just standing around or only 2 of 4 people doing work. I pointed that out to the glorified administrative assistant and brought up the bathroom break. He began going round and round in circles with me. Mind you, my stuff is still on the two trucks, they haven't moved even one piece of furniture into the house and he's haggling price with me. We finally agree on what the original amount was going to be. He calls me back over to him 20 minutes later, he still hasn't moved anything into the house by the way, and says he made a mistake and now the total is again $500 higher. I said no. Now, I'm known to get a little crazy from time to time so I called my much more level-headed husband over to talk to him. Well, they managed to piss him off too. It turned into the three other loafers standing in the truck, holding my stuff hostage while my husband talked to Oscar who admitted they had made a mistake but still didn't change the price. I finally stormed the truck and did what three lazy men couldn't do and unloaded it. The glorified administrative assistant never lifted a finger at point B and they started throwing boxes off the truck that were labeled fragile because I told them I spoke Spanish too. Whoopsie! They then left 15 minutes early after leaving debris all over my driveway. Never again! read more

I dropped my four star to a 3 because although they were polite and got the job done...they did things in excess...didn't pack the van the way I would have done it to allow everything to fit better. But the worst thing was throwing a garden hose full of water on top of my sleep number box spring and badly staining. I'm sure they saw it when assembling the bed...they didn't cover it with the plastic I bought and asked them to cover it with....and they didn't bother to admit it before they left. They also wasted a ton of time taking apart a table that didn't need to be taken apart if they packed things right, but if it did need to be taken apart, I told them how to do it easily, and they ignored me. Sigh. And their insurance that comes with it is a joke. Not worth much of anything and too much cost to pay for additional insurance. Their truck also leaked a ton of oil outside my house. The good was that they accepted my change of date for the move with no issues. Had to remind them to wash their hands...one guy started unpacking my wardrobes with black filthy hands and tossing stuff in my closet...he wasn't even supposed to be unpacking them. Starving Students subbed our cross country move to Cali Movers. Read below. 0 stars. We've used these guys for local moves 4 times (Starving Students) and I'd give 'em 3.5/4 stars but we just moved long distance and these guys absolutely raped us. From subbing out our move to Cali Movers (another review to come) to doing nearly nothing to help us once Cali Movers doubled the cost on us after loading and then refused to unload - taking our 3 bdrm house's belongings hostage. They were over a week late - Starving Students did nothing to assist in getting their subbed company to be punctual and when they arrived they demanded full payment at more that double the estimated FLAT rate (not weight based) before even unlocking and opening a door to prove that their truck was carrying our belongings. Starving students and Cali Movers corporate refused to be of any assistance and when the driver of the rig threatened to leave and force us to have an empty house (with a 20 mo old baby) for another who-knows-how-long, I did what any man would do and blocked the rig in by pulling my cars within inches of the semi's front and rear bumpers. The driver was livid and claimed I ran him over and he began to punch his trailer while screaming at the top of his lungs until blood was splattered everywhere. Mind you, we have yet to meet most of our new neighbors in our nice, quite suburban cul de sac. My wife called the police, who forced them to show us our belongings but could do no more. I told them that since they made us wait so long and we had to buy some new furnishings in order to survive until they decided to show up and since they doubled the price my cards did not have enough on them to pay and the form of payment I needed to use was in a safe on the truck and if they'd just locate the safe, basically unload partially, I could pay them. NOPE. I finally had my uncle offer to us his credit card. They wouldn't accept his payment even if he called in with all verifiable information you need to make a phone or internet credit card purchase because they wanted a hard copy credit card authorization form. But since he was driving (on a trip from Nor Cal to So cal) he did not have access to a fax. He asked for an email form that he could sign (Docusign or something) and they refused again. I ended up convincing them to accept part cash to start the unload pending I made to the bank in time to get a cashiers check to pay for the rest. The police were actually a great help stalling these guys for me even though they said that they'd have to have me move my cars if no resolution could be met and there was no way for them to force the movers to allow us access to our safe. The move was completed at 12:xx am and I could only open so many boxes to check if the contents were intact and one of my refrigerators with a bottom freezer no longer opens. Many items were broken in transit (including Grandma's china - properly packed and labeled) and my house took a severe beating as there were only 2 actual employees present and the rest of the people who showed up were local day laborers. Another win, now I have a bunch of unlicensed/uninsured locals day laborers know where I live and what I own. Needless to say I put a stop payment on the cashiers check and will be battling this in court, internet and hopefully local and national news. BE WARNED OF THESE PEOPLE!!! Wow! Called this company yesterday, Monday, to get a quote. Spoke with Oscar. I picked a tentative date for next week told him I would get back to him the same day as I had to check with my contractor to make sure some remodeling work being done would be complete by then. Called late yesterday afternoon, got vm. Left a vm which was not returned so I called this morning. Now he tells me next Tuesday is completely booked, the day I selected. He worked with me to make sure I wasn't going to go over what I wanted to spend. The guy was awesome. I was referred to this moving company by a friend. It was the easiest move I've ever done. I didn't lift a finger. I moved to a place that was upstairs and they killed it. We used them when we moved out of our house to a rental home due to a home remodel. They were great. When we moved back to our home the service was terrible. They were late and didn't show up with the same size truck and workers to help us move back. The truck was too small and was short one worker. They started to blame us for the mishap but when I called them to move back to my home, they said they remembered our first move and everything would be the same. They said, "we will take care of you." They left when the truck was too small and said they would return with a larger truck. They never did and when we called them they claimed we cancelled the move with them. We never cancelled the move. Their office staff lied to their boss and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Cali Movers were the worst movers EVER!!, They quote you one price over the phone and send a contract that says just that, but when they have their hands on your furniture, they start adding up ridiculous costs, such as $50 for each roll of tape! Do you know how many rolls are used in a large move? Then, when you ask them to use shoe covers to walk over the newly washed carpet at our new house when bringing in the furniture, they say you are treating them rudely and decide to hold your furniture hostage unless you pay them in full, CASH, right there and then, before the work is done and while half your furniture is still in their truck!!! A large, expensive mirror is missing from our move, and worse are the two boxes of rare classic books I had collected over many years. I filed a claim for the two boxes of books and was told I would be reimbursed $60, but I guess that check is still in the mail!! The movers as well as their higher ups are disrespectful and dishonest; they have no respect for the customer, or their belongings, and waste no time in showing just that. There is nothing I can say that is good about the Cali movers, from the management all the way down to the guy who tapes up your chairs. They are by far the worse experience of my life, and I beg you to spare yourself this nightmare of a moving company!!! read more

Very unsatisfied with the service! This is a complete scam! I was quoted $1000 based on the inventory for my apartment. After the movers got there and had all of my belongings loaded onto the truck I was told that I did not provide them with a detailed enough inventory (apparently I was supposed to have everything I own itemized for them when I made the reservation) and the cost was actually going to be over $5000. At that point the company already had all of my belongings and I had to be out of my apartment that day. I was left with no other option than to have to pay the fee. This is a complete rip-off!
