GRILLED Oysters (6)

We had the grilled oysters, lobster roll, and lobster bisque. The food was very mediocre. The lobster bisque was a little too cheesy for my liking and the lobster roll wasn't particularly appetizing. The lobster roll had lettuce and some sweet sauce that was off-putting. We also did not get served water for our dinner which was unpleasant. The restaurant wasn't busy so I expected our server to be more interactive and present. Although the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere with string lights, we are more likely to not return.

We were a very large group on a Friday and Kelly was so gracious and kind to us. They can accommodate a solo diner to large groups and everyone eats well. Very generous portions and the bar is very very well done.

In the ever-long search for a good lobster roll on Long Island I somehow came across Cajun Claws for a delivery dinner. Well I'll be as brief as this meal was. The lack of lobster, I really couldn't look past. I've had lobster rolls from a few places and this one took the cake for the biggest skimp job on lobster meat. It wasn't even inside the split roll, just placed on top to make it look "stuffed". It's a shame as the fries were very well seasoned with an old bay type of seasoning and the yuzu mayo was lovely. The lobster roll itself is unforgivable however, I tasted the buttered bread roll itself more than the lobster, and when you have to ration your meat, it makes for a tedious meal. My quest for a good lobster roll on Long Island continues.

We.came here as a large group. They accommodate us. We order the shareable olatters. Comes with shrimp, mussels, scallops, potatoes, sausage. Plus other delicious food.

After not dining here for over a year, my boyfriend surprised me on Valentine's Day with dinner here. My expectations were very high, as I had been dreaming about their seafood boils since the aforementioned last time we dined here. I was nervous the food wouldn't be as great because of the holiday and how long it had been since we last dined here, but I was wrong! My boyfriend and I started with their tangy chicken wings which in all honesty, were the crispiest wings I've ever had. The flavor was great and the portion was perfect. He ordered a blueberry margarita and was very impressed with it. Not overly sweet but not straight tequila as he put it "a perfect balance, thank god". Now for the main event. The boil. My boyfriend spoils he and we agreed we would do the ultimate boil and a smaller boil for us to share. It was the perfect amount of food. The ultimate came with potatoes and corn, for our main we chose the snow crab legs, crawfish and calamari in their original sauce with a mild spice level. The crab legs were phenomenal. Buttery, big pieces and something I'll be dreaming about until next time. The calamari was okay, definitely not the shining star but still cooked perfectly and flavorful. The crawfish were also delicious. Next time we go we definitely wanna kick up the spice level, it wasn't enough for us but you live and you learn! For our smaller boil, we got scallops and mussels in the Cajun claw sauce with a medium spice. That was the best decision we made. The sauce was extraordinary. I couldn't stop dipping EVERYTHING in it. The mussels were a stand out and everything was perfectly cooked. We had an amazing time here for Valentine's Day and I would love to personally shout out our waitress who did a great job for her first day! Not an easy gig taking on a holiday like this. The owner was also giving out roses to every lady as they left, while I didn't get one, he must have not seen us go, my experience was unforgettable.

Patchogue in Long Island, New York is starting to really become busy with many businesses opening up in development and main street with plenty to do when you walk around. Cajun Claws if you're in the mood for anything seafood or boil, it sits right on main street and has a different variety on the menu. We came as a table of 13 people. Some of us were in the mood for an entrée or selecting a boil. I ordered the soft shell crab burger. I haven't had it anywhere else and wanted to try something new. Last time I came here I had a boil, but it was way too much for me and wanted to try the soft shell crab burger to switch it up. (I forgot to take pictures and make a review a couple of years ago when I came to Cajun Claws). The food was good, service was immediate and our waitress was attentive and always came back to check if we needed anything. The only part I would complain were the French fries were too crispy. I thought it was just my meal, but a few of us who had fries were also too crispy too. Overall, the food was delicious and fresh. Parking is readily available, whether you're on main street or going to park by the lot near Cajun Claws. We came on a Sunday, free parking was available. If you're up for a boil, seafood, come through to Cajun Claws. Plenty of time to walk around main street just in case you get a food coma!

We wanted to get Cajun seafood boil for a long time, and we found this place in Patchogue! We started with half a dozen oysters, which were very fresh and plump! We also had the Lobster Bisque, which was ok at best. Then, we got the Ultimate Boil with snow crab, head-off shrimp, and little-neck clams with medium Cajun sauce. The flavor of the boil was ok... not too rich and did not have enough salt. There was also small potatoes and corn in the boil. We would probably try a different sauce if we came back here. Also, the clams in the boil were really disappointingly small and flavorless. *They have access to their own parking lot which has more lenient free parking than the street, which is to the right of the restaurant if you are standing at the entrance*

My Husband and came here for lunch. We were seated right away. Service was quick. We ordered the grilled scallops for appetizers and Cajun fries . Both were delicious! And the calamari boil with extra corn. It was delicious as well. We enjoyed it and highly recommend. Just wish I had tried a drink. I guess on the next visit!

Grilled oysters, delectable grilled scallops and asparagus. Will definitely come again!

Come hungry leave happy! Lovely indoor and outdoor dockside…read morelocation offering a variety of tasty seafood small to large plates. All drinks standard or fancy come out cold and tasty to accompany that barside snack or full lunch/dinner meal. Servers don fun T-shirts with catchy sayings buzzing around smiling serving it up. Everytime I have dined here they have been very attentive, sometimes overly, but in good spirits just making sure you have everything you wanted and needed, on top of keeping things neat/clean. This outing was for my Mr's Birthday, so appetizer, entrées and dessert. We started with the Crab Spinach and Artichoke dip with chips as we waited for entrée selections. It was served up creamy in a bread bowl stuffed with crab, spinach and artichoke, super tasty and great start. The Mr ordered up the Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail with a bechamel sauce. Noted the flavors were good, but next time would order bechamel sauce on side so there was more control of it not overwhelming the fresh protein with every initial bite. Mentioned the Roasted Potatoes and Corn that accompanied it were nicely cooked and not overly seasoned. Personally opted to double down on the crab side of things and snagged myself one of their Crab cake sandwiches on a pretzel roll. With each bite you knew the crab cake was freshly made not a frozen premade puck. It easily smashed down quickly with each bite, with good fresh crab flavor, not just breadcrumbs, like you might experience elsewhere ;) Also noted their pretzel bun was soft, airy with good classic pretzel flavor without the hard/tough exterior crunch. Noting that in the past I have also ordered up their fresh Tuna Steak entrée which is also a delicious entrée option. Finished off the meal with a menu fan favorite Chocolate Lava Cake, as my Mr is always hoping for it to truly lava out. Will say Harbor Crab definitely has come the closest in sense of it sorta flowing out when cut into. I assured the birthday boy that he should know the texture, taste were indeed on point, even if it didn't fully lava out ;) All in all another great dining experience at this location as the quality of fresh seafood offerings, service, live music ambiance and atmosphere are on point. Totally understand why this has been a fan favorite for my Mr and others for years. Would highly recommend a visit to any seafood lover.

The service was impeccable--our waiter was friendly, and really made us feel taken care of. But, as much as I wanted to keep coming back, the food just didn't live up to the expectations that the beautiful setting and upscale prices would suggest. I had high hopes, but some of the skepticism after reading other reviews which was unfortunately spot on: the food here is incredibly underwhelming for the price. Appetizers: Clams Casino: For $18, I was expecting a little more than six tiny clams, each one was rubbery, overcooked, and lacked any of the depth of flavor. Cajun Seared Tuna: I love a good tuna, and this one came close to being a standout. The sear was fine, and the temperature was just shy of medium, but the wasabi and teriyaki drizzle felt lazy. I've had better. Entrees: Mahi Mahi: Broiled, not seared, it wasn't terrible. The fish was a little on the dry side, but the overall flavor was decent, especially with the grilled pineapple topping. Still, for what it cost, I expected a more flavorful and tender piece of fish. Halibut (Dinner Special): This was really disappointing. Halibut is such a beautiful fish, delicate and buttery, but what I was served was far from it. The fish was overcooked, and the accompanying risotto was undercooked--nothing like the creamy, perfectly al dente risotto you'd expect at a restaurant of this caliber. It was bland, dry, and sorely lacking in seasoning. I had to add so much salt and pepper. Two mixed drinks, two beers, the two entrees, and two Apps added up to well over $200 (with tip). You're paying for the ambiance here, which is undeniably great, but the food just doesn't justify the cost. Despite the beautiful setting and excellent service, I'm not sure I'd be returning. Unless bad night for the cooks? Drift 82 has potential, but for now, it's more of a "look but don't touch" kind of place for me.

Cool spot with a Manhattan vibe "behind" Main Street in Patchogue…read more The reason this is key is because, since they face out to the firehouse and residential areas, parking USUALLY isn't a problem. There's a small lot that's free and you can park on Jennings. (sorry residents). We went on NYE so had to park several blocks away. No biggie. The inside is dark and cool with a city-vibe. Ample bar space and 1-4 tops an some banquet seating that lets you look out over the street. We were greeted right away by what turned out to be our server and seated promptly by the windows (we had a reservation). Also greeted by a gentleman that we think might have been her dad. The young lady hustled all night and managed the crowd well. We never waited too long for her to check in on us and she was very helpful with selecting wine and clarifying menu items. That being said, THIS IS A SMALL PLATES JOINT. People expecting full-sized portions should adjust their expectations accordingly. We did, however, order the Trastavere seafood platter (medium) which came as a tower and seemed impressive. Two types of oysters (large and medium) were presented; briny and fresh and pretty damned tasty. There was also a ceviche and tuna tartare that was, unfortunately, a bit unremarkable, as was the shrimp cocktail (though the shrimps were pretty hefty). The American "black caviar" was a nice way to commemorate the meal. Nutty with a pop of salinity but maybe something you can skip. We meant to order the Carne e Formaggi but got the Gamberetto instead which was fine as it was pretty tasty nonetheless (made with shrimp but it almost tasted like smoked salmon). Virgola Manhattan was good but pretty standard. Follow-up drink of dirty Manhattan was blissfully salty and cold. But back to the menu: we are unsure if they have an actual kitchen back there which would also explain the small plates concept and oyster and chilled fish options. The bruschetta was tasty, as mentioned, but it seems like they cut and toasted the bread and topped it with the crudo. The other bruschetta options featured ingredients from other menu items that could be re-purposed for multiple dishes. Smart but expect this. We plan on returning and trying the charcuterie board (mix and match cheeses and meats) and some cocktails. Overall, a nice night out and a nice option for dining and drinking around Patchogue.
