The waiting will be really long however (expect 30-45 mins during brunch hours to be seated plus decent amount of time for food to be served) but you can hangout in the area. This was my first visit in four years so it was also my first time since it moved upstairs. The atmosphere is so much better! Light and airy. There are currently a few outside tables in the street out front of the restaurant. The long wait is still part of the experience and to be expected on a beautiful Sunday late morning at such a popular place in Shadyside. Their menu does feature savory, sweet, and omelet crepes. In addition, they offer a variety of toasts both French toasts and egg toasts; Plus a limited Healthy Options section with Salad and Fruit. I do miss their mixed greens version of the side salad that previously accompanied their crepe dishes. One crepe, Spinach & Feta (can add-on avocado and tomato) was plenty of food for me. The ginger peach ice tea was so refreshing and they offer real fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff from the hostess, food runner, to the waiter were awesome. And their POS system, Toast made splitting out our group of six's checks easily. Note for courtesy: when there is a waitlist, there is a limit to how long you have at the table. The metered street parking is free on Sundays. And if you're not great at parallel parking there is an alley of pull-in parking spaces behind the restaurant. And for those of you not familiar with the area, it's located on a side street just off the main business district strip of Walnut Street so you can conveniently walk around shopping either while you wait for a table or afterward to burn off the calories of a delicious crepe brunch! read more

A great spot in Shadyside to have brunch! Parking can be challenging since it's mostly street parking! There was 6 of us on a Sunday afternoon and we waited 45mins which was expected. We hung out at the coffee tree roasters for a bit! The menu had a variety! I got the Ham and Swiss with added egg. It was definitely filling!! My friend got the Barcelona French toast and it looked delicious! She was actually the first person to finished her plate! Next time I'm gonna try that!! My crepe was delicious as well! How I had never been here is a complete mystery to me. Found it on Yelp while just looking around, and decided that it would be a great place to try. So, we had a nice Saturday lunch here and really loved it! The house was PACKED, but service was quick and food was delicious. Their crepes are super tasty! There's a ton of options, and you won't be sorry with any of them. I also liked how they serve a very tasty side salad with the crepe order - it complements the dish perfectly. Food is okay. I feel dishonesty in their business and I got scammed by their coffee order. Their House Coffee clearly indicated "free refill" on the menu, but when we ordered decaf House Coffee, the House Coffee order was automatically changed to Americano (I assume that the do not have decaf House Coffee), and Americano does NOT have free refill. The issue is that we were not told that they charge every single cup of the refill for our decaf Americano, until we saw the bill. Imagine if a party of 4 get decaf coffee and all happen to refill once, that's total of 8 cups of Americano, adding up to $25~$30. read more

One person in the party asked for milk to put into their tea, and the server asked if they'd like the milk heated. I've never had that presented as an option, and while cold milk was fine, it shows that they didn't mind going the extra mile to make sure the beverage was enjoyed. I also do feel as though that the menu has been expanded on over the years. There are quite a few savory and sweet crepe options, but there's also some panini and french toast options, and the menu offers far more vegan options than the average place, and that's a nice bonus depending on distant choices. read more

A great local hangout, this cafe is pretty decent and you can usually get in without a wait. My favorite dish was the eggie veggie scramble which is a new addition to the menu (top tip, you should definitely add avocado). The service is friendly and prompt and while it is on the slightly more expensive side, it is still reasonable. My only criticism is that the hot teas they carry are very mediocre, they should definitely find a new brand of tea. read more

Stopped in for lunch today after a nice girl's morning with one of my best friends. Parking is in paid lots or paid street spots. It's a small space so you might have to wait (not sure about opentable or yelp's app since we went on a random Monday morning). I got the lox toast and it was delicious. When you first walk in, the decor has a French- modern vibe going for it. I really liked the aesthetic they aimed for here - you have the open kitchen to see the quality food but you still have a cozy French cafe decor. I will say the giant rooster on the one wall ventured a bit too modern for me and I preferred the brick painted wall as a cozier view, but we didn't come here for atmosphere did we? We came for crepes! From top to bottom the menu has options for everyone, from vegans and vegetarians to meat lovers and sweetlovers! My partner and I settled on their omelette- crepes, as we were looking for something heavier but my partner's sweet tooth could not shy away from suggesting a shared French toast platter. My partner got the marseille which comes with a bit of a salsa with a small kick atop this meaty flavorful pile of folded fluffy eggs, with a delightfully light crepe underneath. He added their aioli on the side just to try it out and let me tell you, if you're someone who likes hollandaise this is gonna be your JAM! Just a little dip on the fork before you pick up your bite and you'll be in heaven. My Ottawa was equally delightful with added béchamel sauce, though the presentation of the omelette wrapped in the crepe posed a bit of difficulty when eating. I'd suggest requesting the egg on top rather than wrapped just because the risk of losing your eggs out the back disassembles your dish, but the flavor is all the same. NOW FOR THE FRENCH TOAST. I truly thought I was getting something 100% sweet when I read whipped cream and raspberry sauce on French toast, but let me tell you I couldn't be more wrong. The Barcelona French toast is a MUST TRY for anyone who is looking for a dish when they can't decide savory or sweet. Picture a nicely cooked piece of soft French toast but between the next slice is this ooey-gooey layer of cheese that you didn't know could work so well! We were so taken by our "dessert" that we ate it first! The raspberry compote isn't overly sweet - it's like a natural tart-sweet that complements it well. I would eat here again. Mardi and the amazing staff they have there are ready to help you order and they truly respect a hot béchamel (it's only served in the crepe, never on the side). My mom says that their Alaskan crepe is the best "lox crepe" in all of Pittsburgh. I liked their spinach and feta crepe. The couple of let downs is that they don't have a wide variety of items on the menu. Also the flour that they use makes your teeth feel really really weird. My favorite brunch place in Shadyside especially when im craving delicious coffee and crepes. Cafe Moulin is such an appropriate name for this quaint little cafe which will transport you to Paris when you step inside. Tucked away in a corner, this was my go-to brunch place for every other Sunday this past winter. My favorite go-to entree is the Super Belgium with a side of turkish sausage. The crepe is filled with cookie butter and topped with bananas, strawberries and chocolate sauce. The sausage provides the much needed savoriness which lacks in the sweet crepe. Sooo yum! My friend once got the salmon crepe and i tasted it and it was also delicious especially if you are looking for a light and savory option. My friends also love their paninis especially the ones with the harissa aioli. P.s: Dont forget to try one of their coffee drinks but seriously their black coffee is the best. I always get so sad days when i miss their daily brewed coffee (they usually stop brewing an hour before closing on weekdays). The cappuccino is good too but nothing beats their coffee. I think the food is good, but not to the level of proper restaurant quality. A lot of the dishes I've tried i think were a little average. Although some of their items are unique and you wouldn't find the same thing in the pgh area. We are patrons during the COVID-19 outbreak so we only got take out. But the food we got - a roasted pork crepe with harissa (yum!) and the goat cheese french toast were equally delicious! I also got a latte; which was made fresh upon arrival as was spot on. The folks here are wonderfully sweet, and their place is very cute, with a pub-like atmosphere.
