We were the only non-Korean people at the restaurant. The restaurant itself was spacious and clean. The service was curt, but efficient. Everything we ordered was delicious. The pork belly was so fatty and melted in my mouth. The naengmyeon was refreshing with a hint of sweetness. We devoured the la galbi and pork bulgogi - they were both very flavorful. The naengmyeon was so light and refreshing. The seafood tofu stew was not very spicy, and packed with ingredients. We would come back for the food!
Came here with an older brother for lunch and ended up drinking 5 bottles together and catching beers after. The Galbi tang and Yukgyejang was great and we finished off with Bibim Nengmyun! Also got a free bottle for service!
Came because of a friend recommendation , here's my thought Pro Food came relatively quick, we got gamjatang and Soondae to share. Big portion, and affordable. Gamjatang is so good, lot of meat and fall out the bone, soup is so flavorful. Good soondae too, we never had this version, lighter in color than what we usually see, but really good. Con The hygiene is questionable... the wait staff placed banchan out in the open next table before they put it in our table, and we could see a lot of small flies on it ... we politely declined it. Service is a miss, don't expect kind greeting and smile, come just for the food.
Amazing food! Deserves a much higher rating than what it currently has. The rice is perfectly cooked (a little on the firmer side as it soup be). There is plenty of meat in the soup. I love my kimchi more fermented and this place has that! Ordered the pork bone soup 9/10, kimchi soup 8.5/10, and galbi bibimbap 8/10. All delicious but what made it better was the great service!
FLUSHING, NY 11354 / KOREAN SPECIALTY CUISINE (PORK) / 07-14-24 / DINNER +$15.99 Pork Blood Sausage Soup and complimentary banchan side dishes that will fill you up. +Quick service, typical Korean restaurant. -Something was laced with MSG.
Cozy no frills Korean restaurant serving hot Korean soups to warm the soul. Prices are reasonable and they offer special prices for some soups during breakfast for only $9.99. My favorite is the kimchee kong nameul soup. My husband favors the hearty kalbi tang. Their specialty is soon dae and many come for that. Not too much ban chan is the only downside.
Something about a rainy day always makes me want to venture out for some good cozy soup dishes. This place is one of them. Not too crowded on a Friday night, located near IHOP and jongro, this place is not flashy. Was promptly seated and given menus. Ordered the galbi tang and the bf ordered the sundae guk. Every table has a variety of condiments for soup (ie pepper, salt, chilli paste, shrimp paste, etc) so you can customize your soup to your liking. The galbi is huge, literally a huge bone that can entice any meat lover~. They also give a variety of small side dishes as well as a choice of white or purple rice. Service was ok, at the end of the menu it's a bit hard to get the waitress but it was only one active waitress when we went. Overall food and vibes were very homey and cozy. Would definitely recommend.
I've passed this restaurant so many times and I've never gone but I hope my review boosts up this place cause it's actually a great spot for Korean food! There's a few parking spaces directly in front and inside is actually pretty big, with plenty of tables. We were seated immediately since it was already 10pm but we came with a large group of 10 people. We ordered several items to share and prices were very reasonable. - Seafood pancake: decent size and good amount of seafood! Slightly thick but still crispy. - LA Galbi: one of the best meats. Super tender and flavorful, perfect with their freshly steamed rice (something about Korean rice in the metal tin just hits different). - Army stew: a classic stew with tons of toppings and the best part is adding the ramen (so much so that we ordered another ramen to add in). It's cooked on the table so you get to eat it as it's heated up. - Pork bone stew: spicy pork bones with potatoes, also cooked at the table. It's technically already cooked but it continues to cook at the table and it's super flavorful. The stew gets very thick so I'd definitely recommend to ask for more of the stew. There's actually a lot of pork bones and decent amount of meat on them too. - Blood sausage soup with extra meat: we ordered the one with extra meat so that it came with soondae on the side as well as some other organ meats. It usually comes unseasoned cause they have the condiments on the side for you to add to taste. The blood sausage was slightly on the gamey side so I didn't like it as much but others liked it. - Spicy pork bulgogi: spicy pork over rice in a hot stone pot. A classic with thinly sliced pork, not too spicy. Overall, a great spot for authentic Korean food. The staff was nice and it's very spacious inside which was great for a large party. I'd definitely come back for their other stews!
It's a good Korean comfort food place where you can enjoy for a good amount of time. Plus, it's 24/7. And a spot for parking.
Just tried this restaurant but definitely going back when I'm craving for soupy rice dishes! They close at 12am too for those who need late night food after drinks! Pretty far out but if you're in the area the food is really good and warming. I got the soondae with extra meat soup bowl which actually comes with way more than expected since my set was only $14. The soup itself is rich but bland, this is when you add the salt, fermented shrimp, etc that are on the side at every table. It was amazing, hit the spot for me since I've been craving it all winter. Soondae was also interesting, first time seeing carrots and spinach in them. We ordered the mix rice and it's my first time seeing them actually serve the remaining stuck rice soaked in water. It's literally just that so not so sure how ppl eat them, but we were already suuuuuper full. Didn't get to eat much of that sadly. Place is actually pretty big, open and clean. The only reason why this place is a 4 star and not 5 is bc of the service. We weren't greeted right away as the waitress walked past us. After 2 min of her walking around past us getting stuff for others, she asked how many ppl are we. She didn't say anything, just grabbed the menus and placed them on the table. Didn't tell us to follow her, or told us to sit at this table, and no eye contact so it was quite confusing. My friend asked for the alcohol menu and the server was confused what she meant. I just asked for the makgeolli and she knew what we wanted. (It's nice they server makgeolli with the traditional cups! They maintain the temp of the drink longer) I guess you can point at the clear glass fridge with the drinks if you're having difficulty. BUT! With the food being good, I don't mind service being a little on the less-catering side. I'm Chinese so usually that's how you know food is good lol. Not entirely offended by the attitude, just slightly off-putting and the food made up for it. PRO TIP IF YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR. For those who like to roam around supermarkets, this restaurant is actually located right across the bigger Hmart! So you can visit Hmart right after your meal! They also sell the makgeolli cup there. I bought one right after my meal!
The food here is great, my friend and I ordered the 보쌈 (bossam) and 순대국 (soondae guk), both very delicious. The service here was also amazing, super friendly staff and great atmosphere, very cozy restaurant. Definitely recommend.
I was not very excited when my parents said they wanted to go to this place. Soondae is Korean blood sausage, which is what it sounds like. A sausage made from pigs intestines, blood, rice and noodles. The good news is that they have a lot of dishes that do not have Soondae. Whew! The banchan (side dishes) were not plentiful but the 3 different types of kimchi were nice. I ordered the belt fish stew and my wife ordered the Soondae soup. I cannot tell you how her dish was because as I said, not a fan of Soondae. The soup is similar to kalbi tang, which means you need to add a bunch of the condiments they give you (salt, shrimp chili paste, etc). The beltway stew was very tasty BUT I think I know why some people have said the stews were not that tasty. The owner came by and told us that you need to let the stew cook and reduce, which heightens the flavor. If you do not wait, then it will taste watery. Maybe that is the issue others have had because our stew was so flavorful! As others said, the prices are less than other Korean places. The stew is probably 20-25% cheaper than at others. For the prices, this is one of the really good places for stew. For non-KoreNs, I would recommend kidnapping one of your Korean friends to help you manage the menu. I am available for a few.
Ordered some 족발,뼈다귀해장국 and선지해장국 for delivery via Ubereats. Food was prepared and delivered rather quick also very well packed too. Everything was delicious (great 김치 and 깍뚜기) and for that price the portion was more than fair.
An amazing discovery & my new favorite Korean restaurant! Located on a dark corner down the block from the new Picnic Garden, I can see how this restaurant can be easily overlooked. But everybody is clearly missing out. My boyfriend and I ordered the $18.99 combo which includes a choice of Soondubu and a grilled entree. The monster boyfriend initially thought one order of the combo would not fill him up, but boy were we wrong. Ordering two combos had us leaving the restaurant with an extra 10 lbs each. After ordering, they brought over a mini pot of kimchi along with a pair of scissors to cut the fresh kimchi! It was the best kimchi I've ever had at a Korean restaurant. The remaining banchan served erred on the side of mediocre. Then comes the amazingness. The boyfriend who has never been a huge fan of Soondubu said this was the best stew he ever had! When the grilled meat came out, I might've ascended to heaven for a quick moment. We ordered the grilled short ribs and beef ribs. Both were marinated to perfection and quality definitely tops Picnic Garden. I will definitely be returning to this 24 hour restaurant much more often now! read more

This place is hands down one of my favorite Korean restaurants !!!! If you aren't into soondae, don't worry they have plenty of other meals on their menu! Definitely a MUST TRY! Try their kimchijigae and DEF their galbijm and galbitang! You won't be disappointed.. especially on a cold night read more
BCSD you are one naughty naughty little rebel. A restaurant that defies conventional American standards and remain true to its origins, BCSD is that Korean restaurant that doesn't even have English signage, but remains a popular go-to spot amongst the locals. Did I also mention that this is 24 hours? Woah. I can't speak for the all Korean food lovers, on a personal level I am tired of the repetitive bulgogi, soon-du-boo, duboki, and ji-gaes in Ktown and the rest of Northern Blvd. I suppose my bias towards BCSD comes from the fact that their menu items deviate from the standard boring Korean menu selections. However I would not be the one to judge whether that makes them more authentic or creative. Huge portions Generous banchans Friendly staff I'd leave you to judge for the food yourself, but I think the pictures would speak more about the food than my blabbing. Rec: Groups of 3+, you earn your own personal stash of kim chi and kkadugi read more

It's my first time coming today and I am not disappointed. Their food is decently priced and they also give you the option of 2 combos (choose from a list of soup & another list with meat) or 3 combos (combo's are preset for you here & includes beverage). I really like the 2 combo option because it is perfect is for 2 people (or 3 if you have small stomachs) and you have the freedom to mix and match. There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant but there is also plenty of residential parking if the front is full. read more
Someone needs to fix the posted hours as the restaurant does not close at noon. We came here for some traditional Korean stews and soups as my grandmother is visiting from Korea as are my uncle and aunt from San Diego. It used to be YangPyung Hae Jang Guk, but the premise is the same. Standard traditional dishes but in a larger and much cleaner and inviting space. We ordered a variety of the dishes, such as the seafood bibimbap and the haejang guk (affectionately known as blood stew or hangover soup). It's called as such since in addition to cabbage, it's cooked with liver and coagulated blood. It may sound gross but trust me, it's all delicious. The bibimbap was huge (it better have been for $15), and once all of the vegetables and frozen bag seafood pieces are mixed with the rice and fried egg, they let it heat up on the electric heat surface. You won't get the typical more side dishes than your table can fit experience here. A clay jar of kimchi and radish, hot peppers and cabbage with Korean soybean paste to accompany it. That's pretty much it. The quality of the food was above average, though the cow head soup (pretty much sullungtang) was served with already an extra kick of salt in it, so please be sure to taste before adding more salt, which is what my pops didn't do. The waitress was understanding, and brought a bowl of the soup for him to add and mix. Four stars because overall, it was a very positive experience. Not a five star rating because it isn't really deserving of it. You won't be wowed but you won't be disappointed. There's a small private lot in the rear, and also 3-4 spots out front. Otherwise, street park! read more

I have to say that the food is "ok" not that great nor worst. Therefore, I gave them one extra star. Except Octopus were like rubber, spent about $29+ on the dish and barely able to eat a few pieces, cold noodle is same issue, it hard to chew, it's swallowable but felt like impossible to digest. Other foods are average and "ok". What disappointed my impression the most on their restaurant is their services. Not going to return to them in the future. The waitresses didn't much English, not responsive, such as we need to ask them for iced water and bowls for several times, get a baby chair for several time, ended up we get it by ourselves. We accidentally ordered two dishes are same but didn't portion, a stone bowl and a pot cooked on the table. When the food serve on our table, we found out that they are the same and the waitress said nothing to us when we made order. Very few explanation on the menu and from the waitresses. Honestly, they can be better. read more

Very reasonable price all over the food. My favorite is beef rib soup $9.99 and soybean paste soup $8.99 only Lunch Special.Maybe the soybean paste soup is best taste in town so far all over the Korean Restaurant in New York. But only one thing I don't like is waitress attitude .She is a look to be full of complaint. She hardly ever say anything. She's quiet as a mouse. read more

We came here last night , ordered set of soon dae , pork feet , and soondae soup. When Pork feet (jok bal) came out we all got shocked because there was nothing but left over parts . As you can see in the picture , it was gross. We told server that this is nothing but left over , he went back to kitchen and finally brought real jok bal . Which was crazy how come do you guys serve garbage to customer ? All three of us are having stomach ache and got fever since last night and we think probably this is something to do with their trashy jok bal . I was a huge fan of this place for soondae kook and now I can't trust them anymore . I had headache and stomachache all day with light fever . As well as nausea after I ate here . read more

This place is pretty authentic. It's difficult to find a good sundae place in the states but sundae from here tasted pretty close to street sundaes in Seoul. Bossam: This was surprisingly good as they're not well known for it. Meat had great flavor but a little too fatty and the spicy kimchi that came with the dish was very good. Sundae bokkeum (stir fry blood sausage): Sundaes were stir fried with cabbage, glass noodles, sesame leaves, long green onion and gochujang saunce. It was pretty spicy and high in sodium (you can request mild spicy/less sodium and they should be able to accommodate). I'd definitely go back! read more

Loveee the jokbal combos they offer here! So cheap and huge portions. Comes with either beer, rice wine, or soju and 2 meat entrees you'd like. You can either choose soondae, pig feet or bossam. Quality of food is great for the price you pay. My go to place for jokbal! read more

My friend and I visited NYC for Business, and we stop by this restaurant. In the restaurant, most customers there are Korean, so at first we have no idea about those food in the restaurant. However, the waiter is really nice and friendly to introduce those dishes to us. Those dishes are very delicious to us, especially sea food pancake. We indeed had a great meal there. read more

Soon dae gook has blood sausage, pig ears, liver, lungs and lots of gory looking pig organs broth.. i added sesame, scallions and sewoojut to lessen the meaty flavourful but it was still very meaty. The kaktoogi was delicious and made it taste better but it wasn't all that great. The food was ok but not great to come back for more. read more
