Amazing food! Deserves a much higher rating than what it currently has. The rice is perfectly cooked (a little on the firmer side as it soup be). There is plenty of meat in the soup. I love my kimchi more fermented and this place has that! Ordered the pork bone soup 9/10, kimchi soup 8.5/10, and galbi bibimbap 8/10. All delicious but what made it better was the great service!

Cozy no frills Korean restaurant serving hot Korean soups to warm the soul. Prices are reasonable and they offer special prices for some soups during breakfast for only $9.99. My favorite is the kimchee kong nameul soup. My husband favors the hearty kalbi tang. Their specialty is soon dae and many come for that. Not too much ban chan is the only downside.

Something about a rainy day always makes me want to venture out for some good cozy soup dishes. This place is one of them. Not too crowded on a Friday night, located near IHOP and jongro, this place is not flashy. Was promptly seated and given menus. Ordered the galbi tang and the bf ordered the sundae guk. Every table has a variety of condiments for soup (ie pepper, salt, chilli paste, shrimp paste, etc) so you can customize your soup to your liking. The galbi is huge, literally a huge bone that can entice any meat lover~. They also give a variety of small side dishes as well as a choice of white or purple rice. Service was ok, at the end of the menu it's a bit hard to get the waitress but it was only one active waitress when we went. Overall food and vibes were very homey and cozy. Would definitely recommend.

Blood sausage soup with extra meat

I've passed this restaurant so many times and I've never gone but I hope my review boosts up this place cause it's actually a great spot for Korean food! There's a few parking spaces directly in front and inside is actually pretty big, with plenty of tables. We were seated immediately since it was already 10pm but we came with a large group of 10 people. We ordered several items to share and prices were very reasonable. - Seafood pancake: decent size and good amount of seafood! Slightly thick but still crispy. - LA Galbi: one of the best meats. Super tender and flavorful, perfect with their freshly steamed rice (something about Korean rice in the metal tin just hits different). - Army stew: a classic stew with tons of toppings and the best part is adding the ramen (so much so that we ordered another ramen to add in). It's cooked on the table so you get to eat it as it's heated up. - Pork bone stew: spicy pork bones with potatoes, also cooked at the table. It's technically already cooked but it continues to cook at the table and it's super flavorful. The stew gets very thick so I'd definitely recommend to ask for more of the stew. There's actually a lot of pork bones and decent amount of meat on them too. - Blood sausage soup with extra meat: we ordered the one with extra meat so that it came with soondae on the side as well as some other organ meats. It usually comes unseasoned cause they have the condiments on the side for you to add to taste. The blood sausage was slightly on the gamey side so I didn't like it as much but others liked it. - Spicy pork bulgogi: spicy pork over rice in a hot stone pot. A classic with thinly sliced pork, not too spicy. Overall, a great spot for authentic Korean food. The staff was nice and it's very spacious inside which was great for a large party. I'd definitely come back for their other stews!

Soondae soup with extra meat

Just tried this restaurant but definitely going back when I'm craving for soupy rice dishes! They close at 12am too for those who need late night food after drinks! Pretty far out but if you're in the area the food is really good and warming. I got the soondae with extra meat soup bowl which actually comes with way more than expected since my set was only $14. The soup itself is rich but bland, this is when you add the salt, fermented shrimp, etc that are on the side at every table. It was amazing, hit the spot for me since I've been craving it all winter. Soondae was also interesting, first time seeing carrots and spinach in them. We ordered the mix rice and it's my first time seeing them actually serve the remaining stuck rice soaked in water. It's literally just that so not so sure how ppl eat them, but we were already suuuuuper full. Didn't get to eat much of that sadly. Place is actually pretty big, open and clean. The only reason why this place is a 4 star and not 5 is bc of the service. We weren't greeted right away as the waitress walked past us. After 2 min of her walking around past us getting stuff for others, she asked how many ppl are we. She didn't say anything, just grabbed the menus and placed them on the table. Didn't tell us to follow her, or told us to sit at this table, and no eye contact so it was quite confusing. My friend asked for the alcohol menu and the server was confused what she meant. I just asked for the makgeolli and she knew what we wanted. (It's nice they server makgeolli with the traditional cups! They maintain the temp of the drink longer) I guess you can point at the clear glass fridge with the drinks if you're having difficulty. BUT! With the food being good, I don't mind service being a little on the less-catering side. I'm Chinese so usually that's how you know food is good lol. Not entirely offended by the attitude, just slightly off-putting and the food made up for it. PRO TIP IF YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR. For those who like to roam around supermarkets, this restaurant is actually located right across the bigger Hmart! So you can visit Hmart right after your meal! They also sell the makgeolli cup there. I bought one right after my meal!

The food here is great, my friend and I ordered the 보쌈 (bossam) and 순대국 (soondae guk), both very delicious. The service here was also amazing, super friendly staff and great atmosphere, very cozy restaurant. Definitely recommend.

Soondae (blood sausage) stew

I was not very excited when my parents said they wanted to go to this place. Soondae is Korean blood sausage, which is what it sounds like. A sausage made from pigs intestines, blood, rice and noodles. The good news is that they have a lot of dishes that do not have Soondae. Whew! The banchan (side dishes) were not plentiful but the 3 different types of kimchi were nice. I ordered the belt fish stew and my wife ordered the Soondae soup. I cannot tell you how her dish was because as I said, not a fan of Soondae. The soup is similar to kalbi tang, which means you need to add a bunch of the condiments they give you (salt, shrimp chili paste, etc). The beltway stew was very tasty BUT I think I know why some people have said the stews were not that tasty. The owner came by and told us that you need to let the stew cook and reduce, which heightens the flavor. If you do not wait, then it will taste watery. Maybe that is the issue others have had because our stew was so flavorful! As others said, the prices are less than other Korean places. The stew is probably 20-25% cheaper than at others. For the prices, this is one of the really good places for stew. For non-KoreNs, I would recommend kidnapping one of your Korean friends to help you manage the menu. I am available for a few.

Ordered some 족발,뼈다귀해장국 and선지해장국 for delivery via Ubereats. Food was prepared and delivered rather quick also very well packed too. Everything was delicious (great 김치 and 깍뚜기) and for that price the portion was more than fair.

Would give it a 10/5 if I can!! Overall service was amazing and the servers were so sweet. They served our food pretty quick and refilled our side dishes endlessly! It was sooo yummy too def worth it and coming back the food is great!

I have been coming here since 2019, I always gave really good tips. Today my bill is fifty something, and I give 6 dollar tip. I don't have enough cash on me. This lady block the door and curse me out with Korean, she said you have to give us 20 % tip. I said I come here all the time , and today I don't have enough cash. She said no , you have too. She said I can't leave until I give them money. I would never come back, this is really disgusting. It's sick. I don't recommend people to come here , they have terrible service since pandemic they don't give a fuck about people.

Once you enter, you'd quickly notice the very detailed beautifully hand painted murals on the walls and an abundance of painted butterflies. The attention to detail is impeccable! The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! I'd come back to try their other food options in the future!

We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Don't come if you're in a rush.

A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.

In addition, I also received the gaejang (marinated raw crab) which was a nice touch. We also ordered the daegi gukbap (pork soup with rice), a comfort dish and kimchi pancake which was really tasty. Our server was good. We arrived past the busier lunch hourso this was a pleasant non-hurried experience.
