Ordered two rib eye steaks and chicken, several appetizers. We get the appetizers which were really good. Twenty minutes later server says so sorry we don't have bone in steaks. Seriously 20 minutes. My husband and daughter got their steaks, finished eating and I'm still waiting for my meal. How long does it take to cook chicken. This is an amazing spot! The vibe is very chill but upscale. It started with amazing service from the check in to the end of the meal. Monica was the best and everyone else on staff always made sure you were good. Not too much not too little. Never had an empty glass which for me is important. We did the fresh oysters, calamari and the tomahawk with an assortment of sides. The table side tomahawk presentation was a great experience you don't get everywhere and the cook on the 30oz was perfect. Highly recommend this place if we looking for a new steakhouse. I made reservations a week ahead for dinner with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived and they were having some sort of political rally inside. There were people talking on a loud speaker, everyone was standing and recording and clapping non stop. It was so annoying. It was impossible to celebrate a special romantic night. The host apologized and said they planned this last minute. I thought it was complete rude to not have reached out to someone who made a reservation to inform them that they were gonna be seated during a political event. It put a dent in our night. Came in for a late birthday dinner with family and we left extremely disappointed. Talk about social media hype. My wife came across their page and what was being displayed online compared to what we got in person was completely different. We ordered the tomahawk steak, which comes with a "show". The butcher was on break, but that wasn't communicated to us. It would have been nice to be told this and we would have waited to get the dinner experience as shown online. We noticed several other parties come in and leave well before we did. One party did come in after and also ordered the tomahawk and left before us. both steaks that came out were not warm and sent back to reheat. We didn't send back the tomahawk since we were just so hungry. Not sure why we got cold food. Once we completed our meals they proceeded to clean up our table and during the process the wooden handle to the board broke off and led to knocking over several items over and spilling the drinks. No fault to anyone, but at this point we were ready to leave. We severely disappointed and we were looking forward to having a great experience and dinner, but for whatever reasons we did not get the online experience that they love to promote. Once the check arrived there was no type of discount applied to it. We requested to speak to a manager and the best they could do is 5% off the bill....i don't know what's standard in the restaurant industry, but 5% does not seem right. We came to support this new restaurant in Downey. It has a nice vibe, and the service was really great. The decor is a little of a mishmash, I couldn't tell what the theme of the restaurant really was. They had some kind of fly and gnat problem going on which made it a little uncomfortable. The food was very mediocre. My salad had something in it that smelled weird and the artichokes did not seem very fresh. I would definitely expect a lot better quality for the price that they charge. This place has potential but it needs work on a cohesive theme and better quality food. read more

Gave this place 3 try's first time was good second time son's wedding dinner there was 20 of us for dinner and it was very disappointing everyone's food came out at different time and over cooked. This third time my husband insisted we go and give it a other try to support small businesses, but it was worst the meat was over cooked and dry, hard, and salty. I am a vegetarian and had the cauliflower, mushrooms ragu and whole corn sauce....... amazingly delicious. Bryant , the manager, stepped in to serve us because the scheduled server did not come in because of a family emergency. He is an asset to their organization. Where do I start? Omg I came to try and be supportive of a new restaurant opening in my community of Downey. Although I understand that it's difficult to get it right on opening night, this was beyond what I expected but in a bad way,. We had reservation at 9:30 pm and got seated 20 minutes later. The decor was not nice, it felt like too much going on and they really needed to hire someone to make this "steakhouse", which is how the advertised it, look nice! We ordered our food and it took like 40 minutes to get out calamari appetizer which was undercooked. Then almost an hour later we finally get our food and it was not very pleasant looking and later turned out to have be so unpleasant to eat. The steak was 40 dollars so I expected a more decent tasting steak and again it's supposed to be a steakhouse. The side dishes where worse! The carrots where dry and the finger potatoes where so greasy and did not look like finger potatoes. Our total bill for 3 people was 280.00 dollars! For that price I could have gone to a nicer restaurant but I wanted to return something new. There where 3 of us and we ended up with stomachaches. The food felt very greasy, scallops where burned and rice had so much butter. I definitely won't return. read more

Service was amazing, from the greeter, waiter, chef, busser and bartender, super attentive and sweet. The food was good, the calamari was perhaps one of the best I ever had. The mussels fettuccine was divine. The chicken piccata was good but it was not piccata, didn't have the capers nor was it cooked in piccata style, but it was a decent dish. Steak was good quality. Drinks were lovely. Music choice perfect and a great sound level. A few cons, a steakhouse should have signature bread and butter basket. There was no bread. The separate pricing for sides is something you see at a steakhouse like Boa's or Flemings and this place is not at that level. Meat need to include the sides here. Also the decor needs refinement. There's two chandeliers that look cheap and don't match at all, some flower arrangements that look like they came from my moms house and the bar by the door is a bit cheesy 90's. The back area where the real bar is also doesn't match the front decor. There's like 10 giant tv's that give it a sports bar vibe so that was confusing. Maybe if they just showed old school movies but the fact that all screens had diff things including sports was taking away from an elegant steakhouse vibe. The food and service are on point so if they can figure out what the "vibe" of the place and hire an interior designer this will be a nice spot to enjoy a special romantic night out. read more

One of the best steakhouses I have ever been to equal to Dal-Rae! we ate there on New Year's Eve with a reservation. We had these sashimi appetizer which came on a baguette of bread(3) A meal in itself.. The filet mignon was seasoned and cooked to perfection melted in your mouth. Add the vegetable, garlic mashed potatoes and Cream cheese stuffed mushrooms sides. Each side is enough for 2+ people no need to order separate side dish a piece. Owner Ralph Verdugo came by our table a 33year resident of my hometown Downey. Great guy. There is a lovely bar but it's in the back the city wouldn't let them put it up front for whatever reason! Attentive staff, delicious large portions of food, clean and organized environment. A must have dinning spot with some improvements but still wonderfully delicious food! Plates removed quickly, drinks delivered on a dime, food arrived hot and juicy, staff was paying attention to every detail. We ordered and shared a ribeye, (which was HUGE) and the lobster mash potatoes with asparagus. Steak (supposed to be medium rare) was extra rare and could have used more crisp on the outside but it was edible and I like it more pink than overcooked so it was still a win. Honestly, the asparagus was over cooked and stringy (but it is hard to get just right in a large party). The mashed potatoes were delicious and I made a meal out of them. Chunks of lobster, slight crust of cheddar cheese, just the right amount of salt. To die for! We did not like the wine selection but in the restaurant's defense we are natural wine drinkers and are very picky with extra high expectations so we let a lot of places slide on account of our preferences. Every establishment can improve on how they operate, especially when they are new (in their first few weeks), but the service has to be there! This service was amazing! My partner and I have both worked in customer service for years. He worked in restaurants specifically. We were both very impressed at how this restaurant handled the large 11 top party on a busy Saturday night. Could have been better at coordination but again, time will only make this place even better. Improving service? Cutting the check was a pain in the end! A better internal system to process large parties would be great on the restaurant's side. (They made us split by dollar amount per CC and some people are better at math in our party than others but we still love our friends). Some staff (younger persons) could use more dinning experience and training (maybe their first or second job) but that comes with time and mentorship. The all stars shine so bright it makes up for those who are lacking. Coach the kitchen on the veggies and please don't kill my asparagus next time though this time I forgive you. Bathroom stalls have an unmentionable amount of space between the doors and walls. I need more privacy in the bathroom. Lastly, there needs to be a little more communication amongst the staff. Food delivery was a mess but that is an easy fix. In the end we all got what we needed but it took some working. (My man was scrutinizing every move in ways I don't understand. I'll spare you.) All in all this was an all-star experience! This place has a solid foundation and I can't wait to see how much better they get! Give them a chance, they deserve to learn, grow and be a large part of our community! They clearly care about food quality, service and setting the right mood.The owner/head chef was very personable when he greeted our table after the meal. Oh! And the singing waitress is AMAZING! Very disappointed in this place and I was looking forward to try this place out. It has good reviews but service is unprofessional. As I'm waiting the front host skips me to attend another couple who had just walked in. Once I advise the lady I was there waiting before them. I told her I had a reservation and was advised I would have to wait 45minutes for our table. What's the point of a reservation of you are gonna have to wait as long as a walk in. Upsetting!!! Ordered the portobello mushrooms and rock shrimp as appetizers and it was delicious! Met Ralph, great guy, he recommended the ahi sashimi bruschetta and it was fantastic(10 out of 10).
