Hot Wings in Glendale is my favorite spot for wings. With that said, Pop's Wings in Downey opened recently and I had been looking forward to their opening. However, after trying the wings and the zucchini, they were not what I was expecting. First off, the wings: They tasted similar to frozen wings purchased from a supermarket. I am not certain if they make their own batter and seasoning, but they did not taste good. Secondly, the fried zucchini: They cost $9 dollars for tiny zucchini that don't taste like zucchini. They also look and taste like they came out of a frozen bag. I sliced the zucchini anticipating to see an actual vegetable. Wrong! Not sure what that was. They need to work on their recipe. The service here was very good. They were polite and quick! The interior is pretty cool - sports memorabilia all on the walls. That being said, the music goes from being good and loud then like 5-10 mins of silence when the song ends. I'd definitely suggest investing in some that continuously plays - just to keep the ambiance the same throughout.
