Stopped by on the 4th of July for brunch. The space has a nice aesthetic, and they had flags from a bunch of different countries up since it was during the World Cup. Our server was very kind and attentive, which we appreciated. Unfortunately the food was a major letdown, especially for the price. We started with an iced latte for me and a hot one for my husband, both were delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles with steak... the meat was super dry and barely warm, the tortilla chips had almost no crunch, and the rest was just soggy and mushy. I left a good portion of it. Unfortunately, I can't give this restaurant 0 stars because that's what it truly deserves. We were a party of 10, and our experience was terrible from beginning to end. Our server was Cristina C., and the manager was Evelyn. Three of the meals were unacceptable. One of the steaks was ordered medium well, but it came out literally raw. On top of that, there was water dripping from the ceiling due to condensation. The water was falling into our drinking glasses and onto our food, which is completely unacceptable. We reported both the food and the leaking ceiling to the manager. By that point, we had already paid--we weren't asking for a refund or free food. We simply wanted to make management aware of the serious issues we experienced. Instead of listening, Evelyn was rude, dismissive, and acted as if she already knew about the leak. She didn't apologize once. If they were aware of the problem, why would they seat customers at that table in the first place? She also ignored our concerns about the food. At the end of the conversation, she simply said that the steaks had been cooked the way we ordered them and that "overall the food was very good." I responded, "What part didn't you understand? The food was not good." She turned around, walked away mumbling, and completely dismissed us while we were still trying to speak with her. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy was shocking. We left feeling ignored and disrespected. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Our server kept refilling our water which was good because it was a hot day, and for that reason we asked to be seated indoors. The inside is quite nice, charming giving the vacation vibe because they were showing sceneries of waterfalls, ancient pyramid ruins from Mexico, and beach resorts on the TV monitors. As for the food, I ordered chilaquiles with green sauce with the regular toppings including scrambled eggs- it was delicious and what I expected. However, my husband tried the chilaquiles swisas with chicken and it tasted a little dry. But both needed more cheese in my opinion. Later on a different server brought two side dishes with beans but I didn't enjoy them because it seemed it made with some sauce so I mostly saw sauce rather than beans. Maybe it's a different style of beans not sure. The only minor thing that was uncomfortable is that indoors the tables are really close together so you can hear conversations from table next to you or look over to see what people are eating. Very disappointing experience. Our group of 10 was seated under an A/C vent that continuously dripped condensation onto our table and into our food. No one warned us about the issue or offered to move us. One of our steaks was served nearly raw. When we asked to speak with the manager, Evelin, she was rude, dismissive, and offered nothing but excuses. She blamed the A/C units for the leaking and then told us there was nothing she could do because we had already paid our bill and that it was our fault for not mentioning the steak sooner. Not once did she apologize for the leaking over our food or the undercooked meal. Our server, Cristina K., also had a poor attitude and made it clear through her facial expressions and demeanor that our group was an inconvenience. Came on a Sunday and there was a wait, but it wasn't too bad, about 30 minutes. They do take reservations, which I definitely should've made. I checked Yelp photos ahead of time to decide what to order and went with the French toast where you can choose your flavor. I picked the "Nut Gone Tella" (warm Nutella, fresh strawberries, banana slices, caramel drizzle, powdered sugar). I don't actually like Nutella, so I ordered it without that. When it came out, it looked so good. But once I started cutting into it, super disappointing. The toast was really soggy, like overly soaked to the point where only the edges had any firmness. That's just not my kind of French toast. I let our server know, and she was great about it. She offered to switch it out for pancakes, which I did, and those were much better. One thing I really appreciated: the menu notes that they use avocado oil. As someone who tries to avoid seed oils (and deals with gut issues), that's a big plus, especially being a foodie. This place can be a little tricky to find. It's across from the movie theater, so keep an eye out. read more

I arrived at 12:25 PM and wasn't even greeted by the hostess. Instead, the first thing she asked was whether I had a reservation. I said no and asked to be added to the waitlist. She then asked, "Do you have a name?" which immediately came across as odd and unprofessional. She told me the wait would be 30 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes without receiving a text or being called, I went back to check on my table. The restaurant looked mostly empty, and after looking at the list, she simply said, "Yes," and walked us to our table. As she seated us, she casually mentioned, "Just so you know, there's a 90-minute dine-in limit." At that point, we were already seated, so it felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. It only got worse from there. We sat for 10 minutes without a single server acknowledging us. No one came to offer water, take a drink order, or even say they'd be with us shortly. After waiting another 5 minutes, we decided to get up and leave. As we walked out, the same hostess who had seated us simply said, "Thank you for coming." First time visiting Casa Brunch to celebrate Mother's Day, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick and attentive, so no complaints there. However, the food was underwhelming. Most of our group ordered the chilaquiles rojos, and we were surprised at how quickly the food came out, but we quickly realized why. These were not traditional Mexican chilaquiles, which was disappointing. Instead of softened tortilla chips in sauce, they tasted more like stale, crunchy nachos. We were especially bummed because we canceled our plans to go to Madres in Bellflower (highly recommend their chilaquiles!) to give this place a try. If I could leave no starts I would. Terrible staff. The two front desk girls were so rude. My wife and I showed up with our toddler and right off the bat they were so discourteous. The huevos divorciados were honestly some of the best I've had in LA! Tostadas were crispy and never got soggy even with the sauce. The sauces were flavorful, perfectly balanced, and those beans?! SOOOO good. Like, don't-skip-the-beans good. My daughter ordered the kids pancakes with a fruit side they were fluffy, delicious, and perfectly portioned. I really appreciated that they cut the grapes in half such a small detail but so thoughtful and mom-approved. I ordered the Floor de Casa margarita and it was really good lots of flavor and the Tajín rim was on point! It paired perfectly with brunch. My husband ordered a cold brew and the flavor of the coffee really stood out smooth, bold, and done right. The decor was beautiful very modern, bright, and totally IG-approved. First time here, and unfortunately it will also be my last. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. hoping to be seated inside because of the heat, but we were told only patio seating was available. We understood and were okay with that. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. We weren't greeted, offered water, or even told, "I'll be right with you." Meanwhile, we watched the patio server greet another table that had arrived after us, take care of them immediately, and bring them waters while we continued to sit there unnoticed. After nearly 15 minutes in the heat without any acknowledgment at all, I got up and we left. We never even had the opportunity to order because the service was nonexistent. I understand restaurants can get busy, but a simple greeting or letting us know there would be a wait would have made all the difference.
