Had lunch here on a Friday around noon and wasn't too impressed. We had the Nashville Hot and the Southern BBQ waffle sandwiches. It wasn't too crowded. Open seating. My mom ordered her food after mine and hers came out first. Which normally wouldn't bother me but I waited way too long for my order which only consisted of a kids meal and a sandwich. A good 10-15 minute wait after her food arrived. The flavor of the sandwiches was pretty good but the chicken itself was a little weird. It was cooked but too juicy, tender for me to be a great chicken sandwich. It looked like half of a breast fillet and half of a thigh fillet. Comparable to a chicken and dumpling dish. I was looking for a firm chicken fillet that would hold up inside a sandwich and this practically fell apart. The waffle was cold to the touch also. The kids chicken tenders were great though! Next time, I would probably order chicken tenders with waffles on the side for that whole experience. This is a very unique place it's definitely out of the extraordinary, from waffle sandwiches to waffle desserts. Very clean and not to mention the environment really nice and welcoming you can sit inside or there's also outdoor sitting available. The food was great and so was the customer service, the only reason why I'm rating it four stars and not five is simply because I asked for no pickles on one of the sandwiches. Since I was a first timer little did I know that the sauce the sandwich had contained chopped pickles. Don't get me wrong it was still good I just wish I could have been given a heads up about their sauce. We also ordered the mushroom sandwich and it was to die for the amount of food they put in the sandwich will definitely leave you full. I don't know why I keep coming back for their chicken and waffles. I am disappointed every single time. Their bbq chicken waffle is very wet and soggy, the chicken is too oily and the wait time for getting togo is so long. I feel like the servers don't even care about you. After waiting forever for my food to arrive, the box just sits on the counter for another 5 minutes... until I walk up to the counter and ask if that bag was my order. My favorite is Bruxie Burger. Yes, a burger! Why? While it is quite innovative to use waffle buns, the meat is always cooked just right that it's super juicy and tasteful. A perfect combination. Cream brûlée is also best. A warm delight that makes me feel good after. Service is excellent. I asked for hot water for my parents and the waitress nicely brought two out and put them on additional cups so they don't feel too hot to hold. Tried the crispy chicken waffle sandwich, waffle fries and the lemonade everyone was drinking. Everything was delicious. I'm really delicious. Waffle wasn't as crispy as I thought it would be but in contrast with crispy chicken it was great. I love how the waffle added a mild sweetness. The wait wasn't too long. They have delicious milkshakes and their customer service is great. Came to Bruxie for the first time since i was in the area. The place is an open space concept, which at first seems rather uncomfortable to me since i ended up eating at a table that overlooks Birch street. Never mind that. What i came here was for the food. we asked the cashier what she would personally recommend and other questions about food on the menu. She was highly knowledgeable and did not give us a blank 'i dont know' look or answer(thanks Kim). Ended up getting the crispy chicken sandwich(even added a fried egg because why not?) with waffle fries and strawberry lemonade. The chicken was not dry, it was tender and cooked well. This place is one of my favorites in downtown brea to eat at. I usually get the El Jefe chicken sandwich, which the chicken juicy and delicious and the pickled onions add a good flavor to the sandwich. I got the grilled chicken and husband got Irish nachos and Nashville crispy chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious! However the waffle needed to be a tad bit crispier. I've gotta say they definitely did things right at this newer Brea location. Craving a warm grilled cheese waffle sandwich, but don't want to wait out in the cold to place your order? Head over to this location. A big counter for ordering and a roomy heated patio are waiting for you. Of course the service is superb, and the menu is as amazing as ever (with the added bonus if this one being slightly more extensive than the Orange location), but I'm pretty sure Brea is my go-to Bruxie now with this fantastic patio and perfect waffle creations. read more

There's plenty of nearby parking and places to sit. Try the honey mustard sauce, its to die for! They loose one star from me because I ordered a side of cole slaw and it was quite disgusting. I had heard such great things about this place so I decided to check it out. I think Bruxie is a great concept, but to me...Waffles with savory food just doesn't work. I dont like eating burgers on waffles, hot dogs on waffles, or chicken sandwiches on waffles. IMHO..Waffles are for breakfast or sweets, leave it at that. I had a salad and a chicken sandwich here. It was ok, but nothing special. I came with a group of 20 people and each of us ordered something different. I really wasn't impressed with anything really, except a few of the desserts. I am just not a waffle guy when it comes to savory lunch/dinner food. I would rather eat burgers on buns, or chicken wraps, etc. If you do come here, and you feel the same way I do, then order one of the desserts. I tried a few of their sweet desserts, smores waffles, berry waffle and Nutella. Out of all the things I tried here, the best thing was the Nutella chocolate and banana waffle. It comes with a light sweet cream and it is really good. Bruxie just isn't my thing, but if I come back here again with friends, I would only get a Nutella Banana and chocolate waffle for dessert! When I heard about Bruxie's concept, I was intrigue. Any self-respecting Angelino is familiar with the Roscoe's chicken and waffles concept, but these guys have taken it one step further. Sure, very tasty chicken and waffles is available for the true traditionalist, but there is oh so much more! Bruxie has taken other sandwich concepts, such as the club, and migrated them to a waffle as the bread vehicle. Yes, I enjoyed a Turkey Club Waffle Sandwich that was truly amazing. The waffle was light and fluffy and not too sweet and the turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and such were all high quality ingredients. All for just under seven bucks! They offer various waffle entrees and treats in multiple categories such a sweet, savory and dessert. When I got to the register, I was torn, as it seemed no self respecting foodie could come to a waffle place and not get some sort of dessert waffle dealio. However, I was concerned because the line was so long; I knew I didn't have it in me to wait again to ensure my dessert was piping hot. Have no fear; the Bruxie Brain Trust has a solution. You can order your dessert at the same time that you place your dinner order at the counter and they can "suspend" your treat. Then, when you are ready, you simply ask anyone walking around to put it in for you. This ensures you get to enjoy both creations right out of the waffle press and makes it a heck of a lot easier for the lazy patron that doesn't want to wait another 10-15 minutes to get their treat. We went on a Sunday evening around 6pm and it was standing room only. Sitting is somewhat limited, so if you go at a busy meal time make sure you have your patience hat on. I liked both the dinner, as well as dessert execution. Our Crème Brule Waffle was amazing. A few in the party were much more enthusiastic about their desserts than dinner. So, this could also serve as a great after dinner desert-type place too. It might be waffle overload, for some, to have that much batter based product in one sitting. I enjoyed it, however. So, stop waffling and give it a try. You will be hard "pressed" to find a better and unique waffle works. read more

Should read 3.5 stars! I've had Bruxie on my bookmark list for ever and now that I've been, I'd say that I'm a semi-fan. Here's what I liked: ***Like the concept: In theory a waffle as bread is interesting and a place dedicated to waffle sandwiches is unique. I had the Turkey Club which combined turkey, avocado and bacon but got the pesto aioli on the side. It was good but not great (probably my fault b/c I think it needed the pesto mayo and the mustard I used instead was just ok). ***Great service: The kids at the counter were super nice and everyone we interacted with from the staff was only to happy to help. ***Good Faster Food option without worrying about the quality of the food: They serve decent quality meat which for a faster food option is what I'm looking for....yes it's more expensive but I don't want to have to worry about a bunch of bi-products or weird ingredients I can't pronounce. And speaking of healthy-ish....the waffle is 250 calories so that is lighter than much of the dense bread used in sandwiches at other faster food type establishments. So so good. There aren't any in my area but to me this is worth the drive. I tried: * original fried chicken sandwich- 10/10. It's not just the taste but the texture and the perfect crunch of the waffle. The chicken was bomb but the waffle stood out cause there's many places with bomb chicken like howlin rays. I prefer this especially since the wait for howlin rays is like 2 hours. *angry mac and cheese- 8/10. it's pretty good. I'm glad I tried their take on a Mac and cheese. But in the future I think I'd only get it if I was super hungry since I don't eat a lot. *two piece fried chicken and waffles- 7/10. the chicken is so juicyy. The waffle is pretty good too especially if you like things on the sweeter side. Personally it seemed more like a breakfast thing for me since it was that sweet. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They definitely make the experience better. This was on my bucket list for such a long time but I never tried it because of the distance. Yeah, I get it. EVERYONE has already eaten here and reviewed it. I'm a day late and a buck short. So what? So I tried it with then-boyfriend, henceforth to be known as F**kface, or FF, for short. We tried the simple chicken and waffle sammich with coleslaw and maple syrup that wasn't especially maple-y. But the chicken was tender, and the waffle was crisp, and the portions were nice. Is Bigger Really Better? In Bruxie case, I would say, 'Hell YEAH!" Welcome to downtown Brea! I have been to the one in Orange, which is a lot smaller. At this location, they have larger menu, plenty of seats, free parking and restrooms. You got to LOVE it! I love the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles. The chicken is juicy and the chili honey gives it the right sweetness. This is too die for! My wife did try the Roasted Mushroom & Goat Cheese with Sun Dried Tomatoes. It was just okay in my book! We both shared the Irish Nachos and it was a BEAST. The waffle fries was covered in homemade cheese, bacon and sour cream. DELICIOUS! For dessert, we split the Crème Brulee. Who would have imagine that crème brulee would taste so good with waffles. I was totally blown away! Bruxie has resurrected my LOVE for waffles. You better Leggo my Eggo! read more
