I tried the Original Chicken Sandwich with a light and crispy waffle and a slaw topping. I'm not a big slaw person so next time I'll hold the slaw. The waffle fries were risky on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered a strawberry lemonade... I wish someone had told me it was sugar free. There should be more Bruxies in Southern California, on the real. I've been to this location twice. The first time we were looking for a quick bite before the Miss Brea 2012 pageant across the street (shout out to Linda S. for winning and being my friend and stuff!). I ordered the smoked salmon bruxie. The fish was fresh and the salmon flavor was not too strong. The dill cream cheese and cucumbers also make for a refreshing and light flavor - essentially, all of the ingredients meshed well together. The waffle was also perfectly textured and not too heavy. The sandwich was just bomb, y'all. Since I didn't get to sit down and enjoy it as much the first time, I came back a few weeks later and ordered the Salmon Bruxie again with fries. The sandwich was again, delicious, so yay for consistency. The fries were just alright though, I don't think I'll order them again I promised myself I'll go back again and try a sweet waffle, they look heavenly. I am so glad we stopped here on our mini-vacay to Southern California. I recently heard about this place through multiple friends posting pictures on facebook of their waffle-like sandwich. It was a bit out of the way for us to drive but I'm sure glad we did! Bruxie is located along a very clean strip in an outdoor mall area, beautiful place to take a walk or spend the day. It's a walk-up to order place and there was no line when we arrived about 11:00am on a Saturday. My fiancé and I both decided to get the chicken and waffles. We were hesitant to the get the same thing since we weren't sure if it was going to be good and we didn't want to be stuck with both. Boy, were we glad we each got our own! We both devoured our sandwiches within minutes and saying "mmmm" the whole time. The waffle came out warm and fresh. The chicken was cooked just right when a delicious coating of batter, slightly salted and drizzled in their home made maple syrup. They even give you a cute little bottle of maple syrup on the side. Between the both of us, we only needed to use one small bottle to add the right amount of sweetness. There was patio seating outdoors and the weather was just perfect! Dang good sandwiches/burgers! The sandwich fillings are so tasty, I found the waffle part almost negligible. I am aware that there are other Bruxie locations, but this was the closest I had been to one. They've got various sandwiches served up on waffles. I decided to play it straight up and simply ordered their Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle (accompanied w/ chili honey and cider slaw). The sandwich was simple in construction and quite tasty. Chicken was fried up well but could have been a tad larger in portion size. The slaw was ample and not over powering while the chili honey (Winnie the Pooh approved) added a nice balance. Overall, the sandwich was a tad bit on the dry side and its somewhat disappointing they charge a little more to add maple syrup. Would I return to Bruxie? Sure. When? Arrived early morning on a Sunday! There were few people here and the music was playing just loud enough. As ALL of you who know me will attest...I never ever say anything is PERFECT! THIS WAS THAT! The chicken in the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich was tasty and a little spicy. The slaw was a little non-existent - which is to say, maybe it needed a little more creaminess to show itself as a necessary component, but, it didn't take anything away which worked well enough. The Naked waffle was EXCELLENT! Again...crispy, light, airy, crunchy, and Yummm!! The syrup comes in a small glass bottle labeled BRUXIE and it is enough. I got the cinnamon & sugar on my waffle and ordered the waffles EXTRA CRISPY!! The crunch factor was amazing! It was like biting into potato chips!! Seriously! Even after 15 minutes on the plate w syrup and butter - it still crunched!! So, get yourself out here and if at all possible - come by early morning!! You won't be upset and it is worth the trip!! The seating - inside and outside - is plentiful and spacious AND pets are allowed in the outside dining. Tables that seat 8, high-tops that seat 4 and counter space. Get your grub on!! Bruxie is the new hype and my friend and I just had to try it. We had our first meal here, at 12 lol. We were pretty hungry. There was a line out the door, but it moved quickly, we got the green eggs and ham(without mayo) and the creme brulee with strawberries waffles. When I went to get condiments and napkins and went back to the table, my order was already there! So fast! Man, was it DELICIOUS! The pesto was just right, I couldn't really taste the waffles, but they were crispy outside, and soft inside. The creme brulee is a must-try! My boyfriend and I tried Bruxie for the first time yesterday. For reference, I tried the Hot Pastrami Bruxie while he had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle with a large Belgian Mocha. PROS: - The service was quick and efficient. The belgian mocha arrived at our table right away, so we had something to sip on while waiting for our food. - Hand sanitizer pumps were available for a quick handwash, especially if the restroom was taken (see below on restrooms). - The employees were very polite and rather cheerful. - THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC! I wish I could review on both entrees but I only took a bite of the buttermilk fried chicken & waffle. As for my hot pastrami Bruxie, I could honestly say that the quality surprised me (in a good way). The pastrami was moist and savory with a buttery texture, and it reminded me more of roast beef than what I would usually imagine pastrami to be. The belgian mocha was rich and sweet and tasted more like dark hot chocolate or sipping chocolate than coffee but it was delicious nonetheless. CONS: - Limited street parking. You may need to park in the garage around the corner - Limited seating. This place gets busy so it's tough to find a spot to dine in. It's also a bit cramped in there, so you may have to wiggle past people to get around. - Limited restroom facilities. With a place this busy, it would be nice to have multi-stall restrooms. Instead, there was a one-person women's restroom and a one-person men's restroom. VERDICT: If you're looking for a satisfying brunch for 2-3 people or are taking your food to go, this is the spot! This location was for sureee bigger and had both indoor and outdoor seating -- More of a restaurant than a food stand like the one in Orange. I came here for lunch and was sad to see a line going out the door. BUT it took less than 10-15 minutes to get to the front, WOOT! I noticed a special Holiday menu --I'm glad they're mixing it up with more variety. (ex: turkey/stuffing/cranberry waffle sandwich) I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffle, which is served with Chili Honey & Cider slaw. I added the 100% Pure Vermont maple syrup for $1 but I honestly liked the Chili honey more! Me and the bf decided to go on a foodie adventure and try this place out and we couldn't have been happier that we went. We were greeting by a nice girl who gave us suggestions on what to order since it was our first time at Bruxie. We decided to order from the "savory" section of the menu and I got the buttermilk fried chicken and waffle sandwich and the bf got the Bruxie burger. Both were AMAZING. Although I've had a better fried chicken waffle sandwich elsewhere, this one was pretty good as well. The reason why I gave this place a 5 star rating is that the service was on point. The girl that greeted us in the beginning came up to us and asked us what we ordered and was happy with what we got. We also got to give feedback to what looked like a manager. Hype hype hype. Two friends and I finally decided to drive out to Brea to try Bruxie after hearing much hype about the place. Bruxie is the only alive place in poor Downtown Brea and with that, we were able to find parking easily. Being first timers, we were amazed at how much smaller the place really is. We all decided to order different things in order to taste what the other's had. Smoked Salmon: I really enjoy fish so I was happy to see this on the menu. When it finally arrived to me though, the salmon was thinly sliced and there were only a few slices : ( I was kinda bummed out but I enjoyed it and to my surprise, it filled me up. The waffle itself was warm and had a nice crunch to it. Pastrami: My friend ordered this and offered a piece to us. The pastrami was yummy and isn't extremely greasy and gross. Instead, it has a nice roasted flavor to it. My friend enjoyed this and although I didn't have it, I probably would've enjoyed it if I did. Nutella & Banana: My other friend was craving a sweet waffle and decided to order it. I was able to have a piece of her waffle and I'll admit that it was really good. Sadly, there wasn't really anything special about it and it was just like any other sweet waffle we've tasted. Service here is quick and the servers are more then happy to answer your questions. After we received our waffles, the three of us decided to be like any other typical social network band wagoner and took pictures of our food. A server stopped by and gave us a flyer offering us a chance to win prizes if we hash tagged Bruxie on a certain social network. We thought this was clever and found it funny that he stopped by while we were taking pictures. Towards the end of our meal, another server stopped by asking if we had enjoyed it and even offered to take away our trays. After hearing so many positive things about Bruxie and giving it a try, it certainly lives up to the hype. I've been enjoying Bruxie for years, but what spurred me to review them today was a surprising gesture of customer service where one of the workers went out of her way to deliver me my to-go order. After placing my order I had crossed the street to take my 2 yr old son to a fountain. He loves fountains (if only he loved bathtime just as much, heck he gets just as wet) and had been motioning there ever since we arrived at Bruxie. So after about 5 minutes of letting him splash and soak, out of the corner of my eye, the server had already crossed the street and was handing me my order. I said, "Thanks so much, you didn't need to do that," to which she replied, "No worries! I didn't want your order to get cold." And she waved bye to my little one. ...My eyes welled up with tears, JK. Also, today we discovered a long-needed, long-awaited addition of several new items their menu here including four chicken sandwiches in addition to the original buttermilk fried chicken: Carolina BBQ Chicken - Just tried it today. Moist grilled chicken with a bit of tangy BBQ sauce, melted cheddar cheese, cole slaw, and friend onion strings mmm. Loved the BBQ sauce enough to keep the leftover to use in some experimental dish of my own. Pretty good food, and nice location in quaint downtown Brea. In general I'm not a advocate of fried chicken, but the dishes that Bruxie makes were pretty good overall. Their sandwiches feature large pieces of fried chicken on top of circular waffle folded in half. In two sandwiches there was only a single piece of chicken, large enough to extend from one end of the sandwich to the other. The Original sandwich is highly recommended, and it comes with chili honey and cider slaw. The honey adds some sweetness and functions like the syrup in typical chicken + waffles plates, and the chili and apple vinegar cider slaw add the tiniest amount of heat and some tang to the dish. This combination of flavors works, and is worth the flagship status. The Nashville Hot sounds spicy, but instead is dominated by the Spicy & Smoky sauce on it, which leans heavily towards the smoky end of the spectrum. It also has a tangy sauce (could not identify this flavor), and pickles on it though (in my opinion detract because pickles are eww). The Caramel Custard is indeed custard, you can hold it upside down and it stays in the cup. Very creamy and a bit hit among everyone (even Asians that don't like overly sweet things). The staff is doing an A+ job dealing with covid and making the restaurant a safe experience. We actually left another sit down restaurant that just wasn't cutting it with their service and putting patrons way to close together. We knew Bruxie would be delish so we stopped by. We didn't intend on staying but the set up seemed really safe. One employee brought the food right to us and he was being super attentive after making sure if we needed anything he could help. Out of those three, the green eggs and ham one was the winner because it was the most flavorful. The pesto, fried egg, and ham just seemed to compliment each other and the cherry-on-top was the crisp waffle. The smoked salmon waffle sandwich was the one I was most looking forward to try, but it was disappointing. It was lacking in the flavor department and when compared to the Green Eggs & Ham waffle, it comes off as bland. The tuna one was alright, but not a must-try. If you're not a fan of savory waffles, Bruxie also has some less intimidating and more ordinary dessert/breakfast options like the creme brulee waffle. The seating here gets crowded very quickly. Now it depends on whether or not you find it despicable to hear about a hair getting into the sandwiches, but you know what? It happens. Even wearing those hairnets, stuff like this can happen even to the best restaurants. They took responsibility for it, apologized, and offered either a refund or a new one. It's bland, too sweet and the flavors just weren't jiving well. Everyone always told me to try it so I went for it, and boy, do I regret it. 2. Next, I had their pulled pork, which was better! Not the best pulled pork in itself, but as a sandwich, it was decent. Probably wouldn't get it again, though. 3. Then I tried their turkey club. This was the game-changer. One of the BEST turkey sandwiches I've ever had. Turkey breast, avocado, pesto mayo, gruyere, tomato and romaine lettuce. This sandwich is absolutely invincible, and it my favorite to date. 4. More recently, I tried out the Lox sandwich, which was also delicious. Probably not worth the price, as it's one of their more expensive sandwiches, but the flavors were on point and the smoked salmon was fresh and plump. It was accompanied by dill cream cheese, which paired up perfectly with the salmon. I also ordered the Irish nachos which were amazing as well! First time here. Came here on a saturday morning for brunch with my girlfriends. It was 100 degrees so I didn't like that the inside area wasn't fully airconditioned. So we sat outside with the mist thing cooling us as best as possible even though it was still really hot. I ordered the creme brulee and Irish nachos to share with friends. I would've preferred the waffles to be a bit more crispy as it was borderline soggy but it was still delicious. The Irish nachos were slightly disappointing because the cheese just felt very fake. Other then that I liked the ambience of the restaurant and the prices were fairly decent. Would be back again to try different items. read more

Bruxie has become one of my favorite to-go places in SoCal! I've been to the location here as well as the one in Orange. Both are 'outdoor' venues. You order at the counter and sit outside. There's usually some covered tables/seating for those who want to stay out of the sun. I've tried the chicken & waffles, prosciutto & gruyere, turkey club, and creme brûlée. All have been delicious! My current favorite is the prosciutto, but my tastes are always changing. I really want to try the smoked salmon next! Their waffles have been consistently good. Light and crispy, never dry, soggy, or stale. I also really want to try more of their dessert waffles! The creme brûlée was AMAZING! Creme brûlée is one of my favorite desserts, so I was really excited to try it. The flavors are wonderful, and it came with strawberries. YUM! Right now, they're offering a seasonal pumpkin spice shake. I'm not normally a fan of milkshakes/shakes. However, I loveeeee pumpkin spice flavors and my friend insisted that I try her shake. It tasted just like a frozen/blended pumpkin pie! Sounds a little gross when I explain it that way....but it really is delicious! Bruxie definitely lives up to the hype! The biggest issue you'll have is deciding which sandwich to get because the menu really goes cover the gamut of sweet and savory items. I was so annoying that I ordered the pastrami sandwich, but quickly changed my mind to get the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. (My inner Roscoes fiend just couldn't resist!) The server was so incredibly nice and accommodating to my indecisiveness and even took the time to explain the entire menu to my boyfriend and me before we ordered. The sandwich was not at all dry like other reviews mentioned! The waffle was crispy, yet light and the honey provided just the right amount of sweetness. I added on the maple syrup, but I don't think it was necessary because of the honey. We also shared an order of the irish nachos, but I honestly could have passed on them. The sandwich was so delicious that the nachos were kind of weak in comparison. They weren't horrible, but they're definitely not something I would rave about to my friends. read more

I've been here since it's opening at the Brea location and the sandwiches here are just as good now as it was back when the doors open so many moons ago. They're really well known for their Chicken and Waffles, and for good reason. It's quite substantial, yet it feels so light, and that's due in part to the airy and crispy waffles. Nothing quite compares (not even Roscoe's, and yes, that might be blasphemous for some). The slaw that accompanies the Chicken and Waffles lends a nice textural contrast to the savory chicken. It really is the perfect combo. My other favorite is the lox (the smoked salmon and cream cheese waffle sandwich). It's tastes really healthy, although I know it's completely not. It must be due in part to the refreshing cucumbers that line the inner shell of the waffle. I can go on and on with all the variations of waffle sandwiches they have, but I might as well err on the side of brevity and just say that you can't really go wrong with any of the sandwiches. They're all amazing. The drinks are pretty good as well too. If I'm doing "brunch," I like to order my waffle sandwich with a vanilla latte (sooooo good). If I'm doing a heftier lunch, I like to order their Italian style sodas. In any event, everything is good! read more

Ordered to-go during this COVID time on Valentine's day wekend. The wait was not too bad but the service and food were disappointed. Asked cashier about the member reward program, the cashier didn't know so she asked her co-worker, both didn't know. They both didn't answer my question and ignored me, she just took my money and told me to wait. Got my food and brought it home. Ordered two holy chicken and one Buffalo chicken waffles. Buffalo chicken waffle didn't have ranch dressing as shown in the picture. Both chicken tasted too salty and the chicken steaks were thinner than before. Great spot located in Brea. Will satisfy your sweet tooth with Nutella & Banana or healthy sides with waffles such as turkey avocado waffle which is my favorite. Today, decide to bring kids and lovely wife for lunch. No line if you come on Wednesday after 2pm. Had the whole outside patio to ourselves. Enjoyed every bite. This place is unique in the way they prepare their food. The sandwiches have waffles as their "bread slices" and it goes surprisingly well. The chicken and waffles is wonderful. But the best thing I have tried was called the BAMF. It's a limited item, and is only available certain times of the year. They can still create this sandwich, but there won't be green chillies. Recommend this place to try something new and different. It can be busy at certain times. read more
