    Cheese pizza
    Ashley M.

Was in the area and needed some lunch. Walked down the street to see the options we had and I loved how the pizza looked from here! I haven't had pizza in a while and love the idea of pizza by the slice. We got a pizza and salad to share! Greek salad 10/10 and pizza was delicious too 10/10! I would love to comeback when in the area! Most of the parking here is paid street parking or lots. They have a tablet to order your food from. Pretty busy but service is still very quick!

4.5 stars Came last night around 8pm so there wasn't many single slice options available which was unfortunate. Single slice range from $5-6 & were huge! I love the ambiance, they have great music & they play sports on their large tv so it's a good vibe. Our favorite pizzas were the plain cheese pizza & the honey deniro pizza! Also tried the pepperoni & chicken bbq. The black & white cookie wasn't great but I've always wanted to try one. Total $30 with tip The round pizza slices have a crunchy bottom & thin crust. The square pizza slices have a crunchy bottom & fluffy center. Parking in Pasadena just isn't as convenient, have to park down the street at the meter but not too bad since it wasn't busy

    Meat Lovers - Grandma Pie
    Kristine L.

I ordered the Meat Lovers grandma for pickup. There's not a good place to park just for pickup, you'd have to find adjacent street parking or park in the structure. I was with my bf so he got out while I waited on the street with emergency lights on. It took awhile and when he came out he said there was nobody around working so it took awhile to get service so that wasn't ideal. As for the pizza itself, thankfully it was still pretty hot by the time we got home. The toppings tasted fresh and they didn't skimp on them. I like a thick Detroit style crust or pan so for me it was delicious. Even my bf who prefers a thinner crust still really liked it. It's a little pricey but in line with these more specialty type of pizza spots. Overall I enjoyed it and could see myself ordering from them again.

Sandwiches are huge and tasty - top ingredients and always split one as it's just too big for the average person - Please make sure to include extra pickles as they are so delicious

We always have to get pizza somewhere when we travel and when we walked by this place we had to check it out. They make pies (both NY & grandma) and sandwiches. They sell by the slice as well and there's always a dozen different options ready to go in the display case. The kid working the counter was great very polite, helpful and personable (great customer service!). We liked it so much we visited two days in a row! We tried a variety of grandma style slices and they all were fantastic! The dough was great it had a good chew and crispy sides and bottom. Good quality cup & char pepperoni and ricotta cheese!

We enjoyed the pizza so much we went back twice !! The slices were huge and flavorful !!! $5.50 a slice !!! The guy at the counter (didn't get his name) was super friendly and a hard worker .

Brooklyn Square -- A Deep Disappointment Masquerading as New York Pizza Rating: (1/5) Brooklyn Square markets itself with the confidence of a New York-style pizza institution, but my visit revealed a product and experience that fell dramatically short of that promise. Between the lackluster execution and a serious food safety issue, this was one of the most disappointing pizza outings I've had in recent memory. Ambiance - 2/5 The atmosphere was busy and energetic, which initially suggested popularity and strong demand. However, beyond the crowd, there was little about the space that evoked the charm or authenticity of a true New York pizzeria. It felt more commercial than crafted. Authenticity - 1/5 Let's address the core claim: this is not New York-style pizza. The crust lacked the structural integrity and chew you'd expect from a proper slice. It didn't fold correctly, didn't carry that thin-yet-resilient texture, and lacked the subtle char and balance that define authentic NY pizza. It was just simply a very thin pizza. I've had more convincing renditions from major chains. The name sets expectations the kitchen simply does not meet. Flavor - 1/5 Even setting authenticity aside, the pizza itself was unremarkable. The sauce and cheese failed to create any memorable depth of flavor. But what truly ended the experience was biting into a large piece of plastic embedded in the pizza. I physically had to spit it out mid-chew. This is not just a minor flaw -- it's a serious quality control failure. Food safety is non-negotiable. Service - 2/5 The restaurant was busy, which may explain some operational strain, but that cannot excuse foreign objects in food. Regardless of rush volume, quality control should never slip to this degree. Cost - 2/5 Given the quality and the safety lapse, the price point feels unjustified. A high rating and branding can only carry a restaurant so far -- execution must follow. Final Thoughts Brooklyn Square may have built a strong reputation, but based on this visit, it feels overrated and poorly managed. Authenticity was absent, quality was inconsistent, and food safety was compromised. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously -- because no diner should have to worry about biting into plastic while eating a slice of pizza.

    Bada Bing Sandwich
    Jason V.

I was looking for a good Italian sub and came across this place on IG. I ordered the Italian Bada Bing, some fried Ravioli, and a slice of spicy pepperoni pizza. The stand out here was the pizza. It was well balanced, had a crisp crust, and pepperoni were bomb. The ravioli were ok. And that sandwich wasn't great. I think the main issue with the sandwich was the cheese. I love cheese, but in this case it overpowered the sandwich. Every bite all you can taste is the cheese, and it made the sandwich not that enjoyable. I'll definitely come back and try some more pizza, and possibly a different sandwich. This place is in Old Town Pasadena, so you know parking is going to be a headache.

I don't know what they do differently from their pies, but their slices are excellent here. Sometimes the pies come out a little extra doughy, but these slices are the essence of what an east coast slice is. Crispy and thinner undercarriage, no flop, entire slice holds its integrity--all 3 for a little under $16. Honestly, for prices these days, that ain't too bad in my opinion. Service was impeccably fast, per usual, and the options are always great to choose from. Highly recommend if you're in the area and are looking for a quality NY style pizza.

    Spicy sausage DEC2025
    Franklin M.

I was in the mood for some pizza but didn't need a whole pizza because I was by myself. Luckily they sell by the slice and I picked out the square cut Spicy Sausage and it cost around 6 bucks. The dough is perfectly crispy crunchy and that Spicy was hot and it burned my mouth. It was delicious and I was able to watch the Rams vs Falcons football game on the big television.

    The Honey Deniro Pie
    Liza G.

This is a regular place we get takeout from. I've tried their regular cheese pizza, but the one we always go back to is The Honey Deniro. The slices are huge, as you can see from my photo which is half a slice. The pizza is a little thicker, but the flavors are something special. I always get extra honey, it just pairs so well with the sauce and cheese. The people who work here are fantastic too. They know our order and how we like it (extra honey) without us having to ask. We have only gotten takeout, but they do have some tables if you want to dine in. We probably order this pizza more than any other because it's always perfect and there are always leftovers.

    The Reuben Sandwich
    Cassidy I.

Brooklyn Square is extremely close to the Schoolhouse Parking Garage which has a very low parking fee ($1-3). The sandwiches were enormous! I was very hungry after walking around the Pasadena Chalk Festival and half a sandwich and a bag of chips was more than enough. I took the rest to go! This is a counter service restaurant. Staff are a little blunt, but were helpful, which was all I needed. The restroom is on the left side of the registers, it's a little hard to see.

Our new go-to in Pasadena! Brooklyn Square is perfect for a family dinner. The specialty pies are top-tier, and the sandwiches are so generously sized you might need a box. Great service and a very clean, welcoming space.

    So this thing is huge.

It was always a real treat. As a teenager I dated a couple of the girls that worked there so I was there on the regular in those days. In my 20's I lived right up the street and hit them up quite often. I don't get there as much as I'd like nowadays but when I do, it is always consistently great. Times have definitely changed but Connal's quality food and super customer service has not! I am a huge Combination Grinder fan and have not ordered anything different for well over 30 years. They are always stacked with lots of high quality cold cuts and delicious Provolone, crisp shredded Lettuce, thin sliced Onions and Vinegar and Oil on a delicious French Roll. In my teens and 20's I did try many samplings on their vast menu and as memory serves, everything was always delicious. Today's Grinder absolutely hit the spot! It had been a while since I last tasted one but the Combo Grinder most definitely never disappoints. I went for it, and got Zings (Zucchini Sticks and Onion Rings). Instead of helping, he immediately responded with multiple excuses--saying he was too busy, had inventory to manage, and other customers to attend to. He asked her to wait an hour, and she kindly agreed. However, while she waited, he continued helping other customers--specifically men--with similar requests. Confused and understandably frustrated, my mother asked why her request couldn't be handled as well. His response was shocking. He looked at her and said, "Do you know tomorrow is Easter?" When my mother replied sarcastically, "No," he responded in Armenian: "What kind of Armenian are you?" That comment was completely inappropriate, disrespectful, and unacceptable--especially in a store that prides itself on serving the Armenian community. No customer should be spoken to that way, let alone made to feel judged or insulted for simply asking for service. It's deeply upsetting that within our own community, a customer can be treated with such disregard. Especially during an important holiday, this is when kindness, respect, and proper customer service should be at their highest--not replaced with hostility and discrimination. I truly hope management addresses this behavior, because no one should leave feeling disrespected in a place that is supposed to feel like home.

Blueberry Lavender Latte - 4/5 The flavor was great, I could clearly taste both the blueberry and lavender without the drink being overly sweet, and the actual espresso shot was pulled nicely. The presentation was also really cute; the blueberry garnish, the pretty cup, and the latte art were all nice touches. My only complaint was the temperature. I ordered this drink hot, but it was lukewarm at best. Maybe the milk wasn't steamed enough? I stopped by early when there wasn't a crowd, so I feel like there isn't really a reason for the drink to be cold? Pasadena toast - 1/5 For $7, this felt like a very basic avocado toast I could easily make at home. Compared to the latte, the toast's flavor and presentation was super underwhelming. The jalapeños looked like they were just tossed on as an afterthought, and the bread wasn't toasted well. The image from the website menu shows a nicely seasoned toast with some pepper(?), pretty garnishes, and a fluffy spread of avocado, but mine didn't seem to have any visible seasoning, and the layer of avocado was fairly thin. Again, I'd understand if it was busy and the staff was in a rush to get orders out, but there wasn't a crowd at all (literally 2 people in line) and this toast was $7.. The space does have a cute area with artisan goods and merch, and there's free parking in the back lot and nearby streets. There's no wifi, but I get it since it prevents people from camping tables. I'll probably come back and give this place another try since the other reviews are positive, maybe this was just a one-off poor experience for me.
