Soooo good, cant go wrong with any of the pies! I like that they have a good mix of square and round pizzas. I haven't had their sandwiches, but I'd love to come back to try. They're quick with toasting your slices and bringing food right to your table. FYI - they're on InKind app!

Ordered a large sausage pizza for $26.50. The crust was a little thick for New York pizza, but the house made pizza sauce was very good. Street metered parking only.

The place looked cute with its black and white themed design. They have a wide array of options from pizzas and sandwiches. Was craving pizza and tried their Honey De Niro pie. They warmed it up before serving and added drizzle of honey. It was kind of the server to bring me some to-go boxes after I got up to change tables. A slice of one pie was bigger than expected, but well worth the price. Although the flavor was lacking for me not sure what it is with the tomato sauce but it was pretty bland. The dollops of cheese on top though saved the pizza, not sure if it's ricotta or something else. Overall taste of this pizza didn't meet my expectations but do appreciate the size to price ratio. Would like to return and try the sandwiches though!

Came by the other day craving pizza and wanted to try something new. They have a good selection of slices and square pies, plus some sandwiches. I got a square Honey Dinero and a slice of margherita. The square was decent, cheesy with crispy edges, but I couldn't really taste much of the honey and it felt a little dry, could've used more sauce. The margherita slice was the winner for me. Crispy edges, gooey cheese, and a good balance of sauce. Next time I'd probably stick with the slices over the squares. I'm also curious to try their sandwiches since they use Boar's Head meats which is usually good quality. Overall a good spot if you're looking to switch it up.

Was in the area and needed some lunch. Walked down the street to see the options we had and I loved how the pizza looked from here! I haven't had pizza in a while and love the idea of pizza by the slice. We got a pizza and salad to share! Greek salad 10/10 and pizza was delicious too 10/10! I would love to comeback when in the area! Most of the parking here is paid street parking or lots. They have a tablet to order your food from. Pretty busy but service is still very quick!

4.5 stars Came last night around 8pm so there wasn't many single slice options available which was unfortunate. Single slice range from $5-6 & were huge! I love the ambiance, they have great music & they play sports on their large tv so it's a good vibe. Our favorite pizzas were the plain cheese pizza & the honey deniro pizza! Also tried the pepperoni & chicken bbq. The black & white cookie wasn't great but I've always wanted to try one. Total $30 with tip The round pizza slices have a crunchy bottom & thin crust. The square pizza slices have a crunchy bottom & fluffy center. Parking in Pasadena just isn't as convenient, have to park down the street at the meter but not too bad since it wasn't busy

I ordered the Meat Lovers grandma for pickup. There's not a good place to park just for pickup, you'd have to find adjacent street parking or park in the structure. I was with my bf so he got out while I waited on the street with emergency lights on. It took awhile and when he came out he said there was nobody around working so it took awhile to get service so that wasn't ideal. As for the pizza itself, thankfully it was still pretty hot by the time we got home. The toppings tasted fresh and they didn't skimp on them. I like a thick Detroit style crust or pan so for me it was delicious. Even my bf who prefers a thinner crust still really liked it. It's a little pricey but in line with these more specialty type of pizza spots. Overall I enjoyed it and could see myself ordering from them again.

We always have to get pizza somewhere when we travel and when we walked by this place we had to check it out. They make pies (both NY & grandma) and sandwiches. They sell by the slice as well and there's always a dozen different options ready to go in the display case. The kid working the counter was great very polite, helpful and personable (great customer service!). We liked it so much we visited two days in a row! We tried a variety of grandma style slices and they all were fantastic! The dough was great it had a good chew and crispy sides and bottom. Good quality cup & char pepperoni and ricotta cheese!

Brooklyn Square -- A Deep Disappointment Masquerading as New York Pizza Rating: (1/5) Brooklyn Square markets itself with the confidence of a New York-style pizza institution, but my visit revealed a product and experience that fell dramatically short of that promise. Between the lackluster execution and a serious food safety issue, this was one of the most disappointing pizza outings I've had in recent memory. Ambiance - 2/5 The atmosphere was busy and energetic, which initially suggested popularity and strong demand. However, beyond the crowd, there was little about the space that evoked the charm or authenticity of a true New York pizzeria. It felt more commercial than crafted. Authenticity - 1/5 Let's address the core claim: this is not New York-style pizza. The crust lacked the structural integrity and chew you'd expect from a proper slice. It didn't fold correctly, didn't carry that thin-yet-resilient texture, and lacked the subtle char and balance that define authentic NY pizza. It was just simply a very thin pizza. I've had more convincing renditions from major chains. The name sets expectations the kitchen simply does not meet. Flavor - 1/5 Even setting authenticity aside, the pizza itself was unremarkable. The sauce and cheese failed to create any memorable depth of flavor. But what truly ended the experience was biting into a large piece of plastic embedded in the pizza. I physically had to spit it out mid-chew. This is not just a minor flaw -- it's a serious quality control failure. Food safety is non-negotiable. Service - 2/5 The restaurant was busy, which may explain some operational strain, but that cannot excuse foreign objects in food. Regardless of rush volume, quality control should never slip to this degree. Cost - 2/5 Given the quality and the safety lapse, the price point feels unjustified. A high rating and branding can only carry a restaurant so far -- execution must follow. Final Thoughts Brooklyn Square may have built a strong reputation, but based on this visit, it feels overrated and poorly managed. Authenticity was absent, quality was inconsistent, and food safety was compromised. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously -- because no diner should have to worry about biting into plastic while eating a slice of pizza.

I was looking for a good Italian sub and came across this place on IG. I ordered the Italian Bada Bing, some fried Ravioli, and a slice of spicy pepperoni pizza. The stand out here was the pizza. It was well balanced, had a crisp crust, and pepperoni were bomb. The ravioli were ok. And that sandwich wasn't great. I think the main issue with the sandwich was the cheese. I love cheese, but in this case it overpowered the sandwich. Every bite all you can taste is the cheese, and it made the sandwich not that enjoyable. I'll definitely come back and try some more pizza, and possibly a different sandwich. This place is in Old Town Pasadena, so you know parking is going to be a headache.

I don't know what they do differently from their pies, but their slices are excellent here. Sometimes the pies come out a little extra doughy, but these slices are the essence of what an east coast slice is. Crispy and thinner undercarriage, no flop, entire slice holds its integrity--all 3 for a little under $16. Honestly, for prices these days, that ain't too bad in my opinion. Service was impeccably fast, per usual, and the options are always great to choose from. Highly recommend if you're in the area and are looking for a quality NY style pizza.

A decently priced deli in old town??? Yes, dammit. You need it without know you need it. You want it without knowing you want it. After the 55th hot pot/shabu shabu grill spot attempt at this location. Brooklyn Square is making an attempt at this spot that has the Ruby's Diner curse. For any old Pasadenian (or is it Pasadenan?) who remembers the 80s and 90s. This used to be an old Ruby's Diner. The ghosts of burgers pst have cursed all future businesses from Succeeding. Brooklyn Square (we will not call the BS for short.....) is the latest attempt at making money and serving food. I have eaten there many times. And i gotta say, I like it! Good clean Boars Head deli and NY style pizza. Well done and tasty. No frills. No mess-ups. Good portions. They get my thumbs up and clean award. Only issue I have is i end up getting coffee every time I'm waiting at 85 degrees. Its a trap! read more

Fairly new place apparently, I was looking for something similar to Mulberry Street pizza. And this come pretty close. Delicious and fresh! I had 2 slices of pepperoni and a tuna sandwich. Prices are reasonable and staff very friendly. I'll be going back tonight lol read more

Pretty decent food. I think our office didn't order too wisely and ended up ordering way too many sandwiches and not enough pizza. I must say that both the pizza and sandwiches are great quality. The flavor of the cheese had a very distinct lovely flavor of parmesan, with the right amount of crunch in the crust. Mixed greens offered a very generous portion of avocados. The sandwiches are pretty good, but nothing earth shattering, as the non-meat toppings are pretty standard. A big plus with the sandwiches is that the portion of meat is quite generous. read more

I like to think of myself as a pizza connoisseur... if I may. This dang pizza... we should be writing sonnets about it! The sauce and crust aloooone. Every ingredient is handled to perfection. Their slices are HUGE... like as big as your face and I tryyyy to limit myself to two but that's impossible. It can't be done y'all. If you're having a good or bad day, do yourself a solid and order this bad boy. If you're disappointed after a bite, I want you to immediately drive yourself to the nearest tastebudologist to get your tastebuds checked out because this is serious deliciousness and you need to experience it. Pizza slices were good . Bread was super fresh. To me fresh bread is key to a good sandwich. You could put playdough between 2 slices of fresh bread and I'd eat it happily. read more

We'd been wanting to try Brooklyn Square since we saw the sign go up, so we ordered via Uber Eats last week. Therefore, can't speak to the customer service or general location at all. The food, however, was quite tasty! My husband loved his calzone. He said it was the perfect salt level - which is a compliment given how very cheesy foods can often be oversalted. Looking at his food, however, I thought the grease level was INTENSE. I guess that's the nature of cheese. My Italian sandwich was great. Everything tasted very fresh and there was a healthy serving of meat. I could only eat half. The food is a highly recommend. The only reason for the 4 stars is because although the food is great, the prices are too high. At least for the sandwiches. You can get Boars Head deli meat at Ralph's - this isn't a unique specialty food. There's no reason for a $16 sandwich. This being said, I do look forward to trying other foods here. Perhaps the pizzas are more "worth the price." We plan to return! read more

Alright, I've been wanting to leave this review for some time, and this will be my first, potentially last, Yelp review. As a New Yorker living in California for 10 years, I've grown tired of hearing about a pizza spot claiming "New York Style Pizza" (and don't get me started on bagels). No dig on California Style Pizza; it's just something different, and I feel like life would be better if we all agreed on that. I eventually gave up. Whenever someone recommended a new "New York" pizza spot to me, I would politely pass and be on my merry way. California, you beat us in tacos... let's not get greedy. So, when a friend recommended Brooklyn Square, I reluctantly (I confess) gave it a shot because it was within walking distance... and I'm from Brooklyn so the name alone, ya know... how could I pass? I showed up and started chattin with someone waiting in line who was also from New York - I think my Mets hat gave me away (LGM!). She said, "If you're looking for a true NY slice, this is the spot..." She was right, and almost every time I go back, I meet someone else from NY. I took one bite and thought I was teleported back to NY. I couldn't tell if I was on Staten Island at the brick oven spot near my aunt's house (if anyone knows about NY pizza, it's all about the crust) or if I was at my corner spot in Brooklyn... but my body left California. We recently tried Prince St. (no shade; it was good), I also tried Pie Life (good pizza, not NY).. I'm convinced Brooklyn Square is THE SPOT TO GO for great pizza. My family visited recently, and after walking around downtown, we decided to grab a slice... I spoke with my mom just a couple of days ago and she brought up Brooklyn Square... with her Newyorican accent she said, "who knew I'd visit California and eat great New York Pizza." Give this spot a try. They also have great hero sandwiches/subs (Boar's Head products). This will be my spot as long as I'm in Pasadena. read more

We ordered delivery via their website since we wanted to watch football games. As recommended, we ordered a Brooklyn Half and Half- BBQ Chix and Pepperoni and side Ceasar Salad. The pizza slices are enormous and delicious. The same came be said for the salad option. The service delivery was less than 30 mins and great. read more

Ok I'm surprised because there weren't many people in there but all I can say is WOW. I'm so picky when it comes to pizza and I've tried the majority of pizza places in Pasadena. I have a few favorites and this place just became one of them. I ordered a slice with spinach, garlic, and Parmesan. Sounds basic but anything but!! It's like bursts of the most perfect Parmesan in your mouth and the garlic is perfect and bursts this amazing perfect garlic flavor. I'm impressed. The crust under the toppings is so thin and not ultra crunchy. It's the perfect mix of soft and crunchy. The actual crust is wow because I never eat the crust. Did they cook grated Parmesan on it? Like wow. Next time I'll try the pepperoni. It's a little steep at $6 a slice but the piece is huge and with pizza this good, it's worth it. I think they're a new business so I hope they stay consistent. Damn good. Wish they also had a water fountain in there. read more

I was craving a real NY/NJ Italian sub sandwich. I did a search and found this place in its first week open. The Bada bing Italian sub was fabulous. I came back the next day and had Some slices of great pizza. Nice and thin, perfect consistency of sauce, real NY pizza. On my 3rd visit I had a calzone. WOW! it brought me back to my childhood. Right now I'm not eating bread, but went in there to get my daughter a ham sandwich. I did not even think of getting an Italian sub on lettuce. They offered and I was so happy I said yes. The Knickerbocker is my favorite sandwich here and probably my favorite sandwich in pasadena. Sweet with some spice and the bread is great and I usually only do sourdough, but the squaw dark bread is what's suggested for this sandwich and I like it a lot. The pizza slices are great too. Great undercarriage, nice crisp to it. I usually get three slices, but two will do the job. read more

Eh, yet another mediocre LA pizza joint (ok, old town Pasadena-- but still) calling itself NY-style pizza. Sad when the $3.50 black & white cookie (imported from NY), bottled root beer and friendly service are better than the actual pizza. And talked with the woman owner who has ZERO Brooklyn vibe nor hint of a Brooklynese accent. Anyways, onwards on my trek to find the best slice a pizza in LA! (Ain't an easy task for a Brooklynite!). read more

I was on a call with Mom when she dropped a subtle hint about a pastrami sandwich for lunch. Don't know about you but when your 88 year old Mother asks for something...you jump. Found Brooklyn Square on Yelp and decided to make the drive. That was a great call. First impression walking in was immaculate. The place is spotless. It has comfy, welcoming feel with a sorta techy edge. Big TV's on the walls, digital menu and a huge display case showing all the pizza's by the slice. A huge variety of sandwiches. Plus they'll let you mix n match the fillings if you want. Pizza by the slice or order a whole pie. Beers on tap. Pretty much something for everyone. And best of all, the food is great. Mom got her pastrami and I got a Local Lou (Turkey) for Dad. Even though it was a bit out of the way for me, seeing the smile on Mom's face after the first bite made it all worth it. You gotta go here, you will like it. read more

Good folks all around. The portions vs the price are right on the money. Everything is typically piping hot and ready and if it has to be made up it doesnt take long at all. Always good to walk in and be greeted with a smile followed by getting some incredibly good pizza and pastrami. Try the fried ravioli too. read more

I go to Brooklyn Square all the time and love it! The pizza and sandwiches are amazing. The owner is from Brooklyn and as a New Yorker myself, the pizza tastes as good as it does back home. The service and prices are great too. Highly recommend! read more

The sausage alla vodka square pie is the best pizza I've had in Pasadena, and the honey deniro is pretty good too. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, not really a nice spot for a date or night out. However the square pizza is excellent so don't hesitate to get take out! read more

Good service ? Good food? Yea. This is the spot. Amazing great team to talk to, never missed a beat with the service. Besides the good pizza (all of them), salads(chefs salad personal favorite), and sandwiches (Hot Turkey, Bacon, Tomato personal favorite) the area is lovely and nice, great stop to enjoy after spending your time on Colorado shopping. I would shout everyone out individually ! But I recommend you come meet all the great people that work at this great place. I come here for lunch every day and I'm never going to get tired of! read more

First timer on a Tuesday night. The restaurant manager is very helpful. He went over the menu, offered some suggestions, and then the chef chimed in with special features of their unique and exclusive, grandma-style pizza crust. Grandma-style pizza crust takes 10 hours for special dough to rise! We went ahead and opted for the meatlovers on grandmother-style crust plus veggies. Believe the hype--this was the best pizza we've ever had. My friend described it as "next level pizza." This is truly a destination location! Crispy crust on outside, slightly chewy inside--perfect and flavorful with nice hints of herbs and spice. Loved the food and we'll be back for other items. First time ordering from Brooklyn. I was craving a great corn beef Reuben, and I gotta say, Brooklyn delivered. The meat was super lean, the swiss cheese yummy, as was the slaw. I got the Brooklyn Rueben on squaw. I also ordered the Chef salad, looks great for dinner. My only complaint is this. I requested adsl 1000 island dressing both for the sandwich as well as the salad. I got neither. Instead I got one small side of Italian. I wish more attention was paid to the the "special request " box. So, I'll order again from Brooklyn and hope they take to heart, for 16 bucks a sandwich, special requests, within reason of course, should honored. read more

If you live or are near Pasadena, here is a hidden gem! If you are looking for tasty food this is the place! As soon as I walked in the restaurant, the environment felt great, very cozy and family-friendly. They have huge TV's with all their delicious food! The service was great. The lady at the counter helped with any questions I had and also gave me great recommendations. You order at the register and they bring the food to your table. I had a slice of their BBQ chicken pizza, so tasty. Buffalo wings are not like any small wings they are full-size wings, and lemon pepper chicken tender and fries, tenders, and fries were very crispy served with a side of ranch! The food came out quickly and was so delicious! I need to be back to try the rest of the food! There is a parking structure down the one-way street where you could park not far from the restaurant. This was my first time visiting Brooklyn Square Pizza. I don't go to a lot of pizza restaurants as a gluten free diner because there is often no good options, so I was a little nervous about what I might be able to try. Needless to say, they have a fantastic gluten free pizza crust which you can replace on any pie option. It's not expensive and the quality, texture, and flavor are great! It's a thinner crust and very crispy. I tried a traditional cheese, the eggplant parmesan, and the white mushroom pizza. They were all very good, but the eggplant really stood out. The eggplant sits on top of the pizza and becomes this wonderfully crispy almost bacon-like topping. Can't express how happy I was to find an awesome new pizza place! read more

This is not the first time that I have gone to Brooklyn Square in Pasadena. I absolutely love the salads and pizzas. They are so delicious this time I tried a barbecue chicken calzone and it was absolutely enormous. It was such a bang for my buck I was able to eat it in two different servings, the service was amazing. My food came out in a timely manner. I also enjoyed one of their Italian sodas in a vanilla orange flavor and it was just delicious. I had a great experience here. I was between the Honey Deniro and the Alla Vodka pizza. They offered to do the original Deniro with the Alla Vodka sauce, which was so good.
