I needed my car opened after a long day. Called Broadway and waited 2 hours, he was very late. He was very rude to me and I honestly felt threatened, I had a feeling that if I wasn't in a well lit park lot that things could have ended badly. I had gotten a very reasonable quote over the phone and was charged almost three times more than anticipated price. There was also damaged done to my window. It now has a piece missing on the edge. I need to go somewhere on Monday now to see how to get it fixed. I called back to inquire about getting my window fixed due to his poor workmanship and after I stated what my issue was I was hung up on. I had a problem; I locked a music box with sensitive items inside it...and lost the key. Simple lock, but I'm not a locksmith, and neither my husband nor I could finagle the mechanism (We tried, but our only locksmith textbook is Dorothy L. Sayers's "Strong Poison"). When I arrived, they took the box without laughing at my incompetence, and it took them about 3 seconds to open it for me.I swear, it took longer to get the baby out of the car seat. My attempt at adding a locking handle to my gate on my own were sad so I called up Broadway and they had someone out the next day. If you live on the Hill don't call anyone else. I called last minute and they bent over backwards to get to me after hours and get me into my condo. The gentleman was professional and looked more like a doctor than a locksmith. The price quoted was exactly what I paid. He did verify it was my unit and gave me some great suggestions for keyless entry technology that now exists. Robel provided EXPERT service yesterday installing a deadbolt in an antique front door (from 1903) There had already been a funky lock set up he had to work around - which he did beautifully. I locked my keys in the car, in a parking garage. When I called they said 15-20 minutes. Less than 10 minutes later they were there. 5 minutes to park. A couple of minutes to walk to the car. I just bought a new condo and I wanted to change the front door locks to use the same new key. I called Broadway Locksmith and they quickly set me up with a morning appointment. (With their first appointment slot being at 9:30 AM, they start a little later than I would like.) In any event, the locksmith who came by was very helpful and efficient. I needed to get new keys for my vehicle as the one ( I had only one key) I use is very very worn. I expected we would have to build a new one as if I had lost the keys, meaning a higher cost. But they used the worn key and with their experience, cut a key that looks like a new one would. The locksmith came out to the vehicle and the first one he cut worked well. He lubed the lock to help the pins get over the higher ridges. They made a duplicate so I would have 2 fresh keys. I was out the door for much less than I expected to pay. I walked in at the right time as the person ahead of me was just paying. While I was being helped the lobby filled up but the queue went quickly so don't be discouraged. Thanks Guys! read more
