These guys really saved me today. I dropped in on them unannounced and with very little time to get from one job to the next. My scooter was nearly out of gas and I was locked out of my tank, having lost my only set of keys! I honestly don't know what I would have done were it not for their help today, especially because I was so very pressed for time. One of the guys there picked my lock for me in less than 60 seconds and sent me on my way. I didn't even spend 5 minutes in their shop. These guys are great and will be getting all of my locksmith related business for taking care of me like that. I should also mention that I called them a couple weeks back when I first lost my keys and they were unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable over the phone too. They gave me a lot of their time and seemed genuinely interested in helping me and answering the questions that I had. I have always had great success with Broadway Locksmith whenever I needed a door lockset replaced or an existing lock repaired. In the last year I have had two broken locks, each lock was ten to thirty years old, one lock was stuck and the other kept turning and turning. Broadway Locksmith is awesome! We have a 1991 Toyota Camry. With Murphy's Law hitting the way it does, my partner and I were carpooling to a convention in downtown Seattle with friends from around the area. We stopped for a bathroom break and then when we got back into the car she realized the key was coming apart! This key was pretty old and had been worn down for a while, but it was actually physically breaking. Yikes! We dropped our friends off at the convention center and went to the Toyota dealership. It was a Friday evening and they were not open for much longer. It turns out they could not cut a new key because the car was "too old" and didn't work with their new system. I don't really know much about keys, admittedly, but I was not thrilled with this attitude. They did give us the code, though, and recommended Broadway Locksmith. Unfortunately, they had just closed. We fervently hoped the key would not totally break that evening (thankfully, it didn't) and stopped by Broadway Locksmith the next morning. They were very friendly and helpful and cut the new key quickly and for a very reasonable price. MUCH more helpful than the dealership. Being the genius I am, I have completely lost the key to my Kryptonite bike lock. My poor bike has been in bike jail in our parking garage for years now. Awesome service! I came in to get my lock re-keyed but had problems re-installing my lock. I called them and they were happy to walk me through a few things on the phone and even offered to look at my lock at the store if I brought it in. I went back to the store and the guy helped me with my lock while other customers were waiting! I wasn't even charged! Will definitely come back for other issues in the future! He had determined after removal of the lock that it was clear of any pieces and charged me only a nominal fee for his time. Probably one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had! Take my comments with a grain of salt, because I have lived on the East Coast for a long long time now and just moved to Seattle recently - so, I just may not be accustomed to the significantly higher level of customer service that seems to exist out here. Nevertheless, I was absolutely blown away by the service I received when I had an alarm system installed by Broadway Locksmith. Not only was the alarm system installed without a glitch, the good man (Tyler) who came to install the system fixed deadbolt on my back door (it was stuck) and installed a cable outlet to my downstairs. He didn't even charge me for anything but the alarm system. If it sounds too good to be true, I don't know what to say. I was thinking the same thing and counting my lucky stars that I get to live in Seattle now, where I guess stuff like this happens? read more

Fantastic locksmith service! I locked myself out of my apartment this morning, and called to schedule a lockout service. I decided to rekey my front door as well so the front and backdoor would be one key set rather than two sets. When I called this morning, they scheduled a visit with a 1:30 to 2:00pm window, and the locksmith was here promptly at 1:30. He quickly got me back into my apartment and then popped out the front door locks to rekey. He also checked the back door bolt and noticing that it was sticking, offered to fix that lock's pins as well. One of the only places in Seattle that can rekey an ignition, I've literally called around and ended up just waiting til they opened. The prices are so reasonable and the turn around time is really quick as well. I wish they were open on weekends but that's okay no one wants to work weekends anyways. While i must praise this place for its excellent service, i had an unusual experience when i left the shop. As i was passing the Soda machine a mysterious breeze filtered out of the said machine, curious, i approached slowly. i could hear a very faint voice call out to me as i press my ear on its hard rusty body. " Drink me " " Drink me sir " the voice called. by god was i frightened, panicking i tried desperately to take out the coins needed to purchase one of its drinks, i wanted to please the ghost, i wanted to make my sacrifice, depositing 75 cents, i clicked the Coke, out pops the hearty elixir needed to please the Soda demon. Amazing service! I lost the key to my fire safe and needed to get into it for my passport for I9 work verification reasons. I was told safes were not their specialty but they'd take a look, and I walked my safe over. They picked my safe open in under five minutes, and didn't charge me a thing. Incredible! I recently moved into a new home and needed my locks rekeyed. Bjorn came and took care of them very quickly! I had forgotten about 1 more lock, and was able to get an appointment for the next day. About $70 for the service fee, about $20 per lock. Because I was a space cadet and forgot about the last lock, that will be half the service fee and $20 for the lock. Very reasonable price, knowledgable, friendly service, and definitely will call them again if I have more locksmith needs! read more

Came here to get some locks for a UPACK. The man who helped me was friendly and helpful. He gave me basics about what I should look for and recommended a few. Even though I knew little about the diameter I needed, they let me take my time. I ended up buying 2 locks, each about $15. Fair pricing but could be seen as edging on expensive. I went with it because of time crunch. And why not support local business? This place seemed pretty empty from the outside but I found that their business is pretty steady, having seen several people rotate in and out during the 10 minutes I was there. There are displays of old locks that entertained my interest for things made with craft--they had plenty of interesting little things. Don't know if they are the people behind the working mystery coke machine up front, but that's one of the funky pieces of Seattle you have to notice! read more

Been working with this family for almost the time it opened starting with my parents! Gotta love mom and pop businesses, especially on Capitol Hill. Some vandal(s) took out a lock of mine and Aaron, whose been in Seattle for about a year (so show him all our great Seattle friendliness) and just a cool cat, came over and fixed it. Our landlord only supplied us with one key to our mailbox, so when we lost it, we had to get the core replaced. I came here to find out about having a locksmith come and the they told me I could save a lot of money by getting the core out when the postal carrier came. They showed me how to do it and when I brought the core in, they sold me an identical one for $15, thus saving me about 80 bucks. They saved me a lot of money when they could just have easily set up an easy call. That's customer service. read more

They were truly eager to help me with my lock out situation--I came back from vacation to find my lock mangled and non-functioning after an attempted burglary.
